Al-Jabar : Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, with registered number p-ISSN: 2086-5872 (print), e-ISSN: 2540-7562 (online), is a scientific journal published by Mathematics Education IAIN Raden Intan Lampung. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate new theories and research results that have been achieved in the area of mathematics education. Al-Jabar: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika, particularly focuses on the main issues in the development of the sciences of mathematics education, mathematics education, and applied mathematics. Al-Jabar, has been published since 2010, and starting from 2015, has been published online. Al-Jabar: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika published twice a year, the period from January to June and July to December. This publication is available online via open access.

The effect of Cooperative Learning Model Think-Talk-Write Type on Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities In Terms of Learning Habits

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the influence of Think Talk Write (TTW) model of learning ability to solve mathematical problems of learners; (2) to know the effect of learning habit on students mathematical problem solving ability; (3) to know the interaction between learning model and study habit to students mathematical problem solving ability. The type of research used is quasi experiment with 3 × 3 factorial research design. The hypothesis test used is a parametric test with data analysis technique using Anova test. The result of the research for the prerequisite test is based on normality test which can be known by using Liliefors test and homogeneity test can be known by using Barlett test, it is obtained that the test result data from both groups are normal and homogeneous, so it can be continued for parametric test by using anava test two paths with unequal cells. Based on data processing, it is found that: (1) there is influence of Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model to students mathematical problem-solving ability; (2) there is the influence of learning habit on the ability of mathematical problem of learners; (3) there is no interaction between the learning model and the learning habits of the mathematical problems of the learners. This means that the learning model Think Talk Write (TTW) is more effective than the conventional model so that Think Talk Write (TTW) model more influence on the problem-solving ability of learners.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of mathematics are not appropriate thought of learning models in the classroom. Therefore, the NHT and TPS learning models can be applied to improve the learning of outcomes of the student. This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes using the NHT learning model with the TPS learning model. The sampling technique is used as a random sampling cluster with 2 groups of experiments for the first experimental group  (classroom view of TPS model) and the second experimental group (classes of NHT modeling). The instrument of this research uses the test of mathematics learning result. The hypothesis test is used  T-Test. The conclusion of research that are differences in the outcomes of the two learning models (NHT and TPS) on learning outcomes, based on the marginal mean of the TPS learning model is better learning outcomes than the NHT learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a mathematical learning media using Geogebra software. The research method is used the 4D (Four D Model) research method adopted by Siva sailam Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel. namely, define, design, develop. The data collection techniques are used to obtain the data on questionnaires response and interviews. The instruments in this research used questionnaires. The data analysis method using descriptive method. This research is conducted by describing the results of product development in the form of learning media for small groups and large groups with media that has been validated by some validators. The Experts of validation results on the content quality aspect to obtain results with very good criteria and on aspects of the language to obtain results with very good criteria. Trial students VII class in small classes and large classes obtained results with interesting criteria for small groups.

Abstract

The aim of the research  to know the level of student  problem solving skill of  Senior high school students on their  mathematical problem and activity concentration. The object of the research was conducted  at one of Senior high school of Cimahi. the Subject  of the research  is all  twelve grades of Senior high School Students of Science Program in Cimahi. The research used descriptive qualitative research to describe the student analysis error on doing the question of problem solving ability. The data of the research was found using diagnostic of series and rows and also student questionnaire. Data collecting technique used Miles and Huberman concept  that are reduction data, reporting data and draw the conclusion. The result of the research are: (1) the level of the ability to solve the problem is still low (2) the common student error did not understand the questions and have no ability to communicate in mathematical form. (3) the student’s activity is rated strong. Some solutions can be given to increase student problem solving ability through practice or question drill structured  and gived the variety questions as material practice.

Abstract

Develop and Test the feasibility of media-based mathematics learning blog especially in the trigonometric material which becomes the purpose of research. This development research uses 7 stages from 10 stages of borg and gall method that are potential and problem, collecting preliminary data, product design, validation, revision, trial, product revision and mass production. Blog learning media developed with the help of adobe flash aimed at providing some animation. The assessment instrument used is a feasibility questionnaire by media experts, materials experts, and student feedback. The result of the research is 1) Based on validation of material expert evaluation, the average score of 4.65 is in the category of "Very Good". Assessment of media experts gives an average rating of 4.35 so that the assessment in the category of assessment of "Very Good". The assessment of linguists gives an average rating of 4.5 which is included in the "Excellent" rating. In addition, in a small-scale test of the students obtained a score of 4.23 on the criteria of "Very Good", and while tested large-scale average test score of students responses is 4.19 obtained "Good" criteria. Thus it is concluded that the learning media that have been developed are in a good category and can be used in learning especially Trigonometry material.

Abstract

Based on the cognitive development of junior high school students began to be able to think formal, able to think the high level of mathematical thinking or high-level mathematical thinking, and mathematical thinking with a low order or low-level mathematical thinking). The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Taking the subject in this study is to use purposive sampling techniques. Being the subject of research is the students of SMP PGRI Class VII as much as 35 Bandar Lampung academic year 2017/2018. Data technique used is test method, questionnaire, observation, and interview. Data analysis is done descriptively qualitative. This research looks at mathematical thinking based on students multiple intelligences. Students are Linguistic Intelligence, Logic-Mathematics and Spatial Intelligence. Each intelligence of multiple intelligences capable of reading the problem well, able to store information, images of different mathematical symbols. Being able to understand what to do, have ideas to math symbols. Students can make mathematical formulas clearly, able to differentiate, equate, integrate, classify between variables analyze, summarize, criticize, predict, compose, build, plan, discover, renew, ner, strengthen, beautify, compose. Students who have the tendency of intelligence Linguistic Intelligence how to translate keywords used word for word more compiled. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence. the methods used in solving mathematical problems are seen more structured results, and Intelligence Intelligences ways used with cultural patterns.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop math learning media using Macromedia flash application program. The development procedure used is Borg and Gall procedure which has been modified by Sugiyono. The procedure used is limited to only 7 steps from 10 steps: potential and problem, information gathering, product design, design validation, design improvement, small and large scale test until product revision. This study produces a mathematics learning media that has been declared valid and fit to be used as a whole as a medium of learning by 3 Expert material who scored an average of 3.67 and 2 media experts who scored an average of 3.59 with each score the maximum of validity is 4. While the attractiveness test of instructional media is stated "Very Interesting" by small group test which gets average score 3,4 and big group test with average score 3,8 with each score maximize attractiveness is 4. So it can be concluded that the development of instructional media produced is considered feasible and can be used as a medium of mathematics learning.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to (1) investigate the enhancement of students’ achievement through Blended learning, based on overall and the level of students’ mathematical initial ability (high, medium, and low), (2) investigate the enhancement of students’ self regulated learning through Blended learning, based on overall and the level of students’ mathematical initial ability (high, medium, and low). This research used a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent pre-test and post-test control-group design. The populations of this study were students of Mathematics Education Program at PGRI Palembang University in 5th semester in Academic year 2016/2017. The sample were class 5B (control class) and 5C (experiment class). Data were collected through test and questioner of self regulated learning. Data analysis that was used were t-test, and t test. Based on data analysis, the result obtained from this study are: (1) the enhancement of students’ achievement who received Blended Learning models are better than those of students who received ordinary lessons, based on overall class, and the level of students’ mathematical ability, (2) the enhancement of students’ regulated learning who received Blended Learning models are better than those of students who received ordinary, in overall class, high and medium level of students’ mathematical initial ability, meanwhile there was no differences in the low level.Keywords : Blended Learning, students’ achievement, students’ self regulated learning Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model Blended Learning lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan level kemampuan awal matematika (tinggi, sedang dan rendah), (2) Mengetahui peningkatan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model Blended Learning lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan level kemampuan awal matematika (tinggi, sedang dan rendah). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-postest control group design. Populasi dalam penellitian ini terdiri dari seluruh mahasiswa semester 5 Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas PGRI Palembang Tahun Akademik 2016/2017. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas 5B (kelas kontrol) dan 5C (kelas eksperimen). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan angket kemandirian belajar mahasiswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik uji t dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model Blended Learning lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan level kemampuan awal matematika (tinggi, sedang dan rendah), (2) peningkatan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model Blended Learning lebih tinggi dari mahasiswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari keseluruhan, level kemampuan awal matematika tinggi dan sedang, namun tidak lebih tinggi pada level rendah. Kata Kunci : Blended learning; hasil belajar; kemandirian belajar

Abstract

Faktor resiko yang pasti terjadi dapat dikelola dengan memindahkan risiko kepada pihak lain (dalam hal ini perusahaan asuransi). Pada tulisan ini akan dibahas lebih banyak tentang asuransi jiwa, seiring perkembangannya kini terdapat jenis asuransi yang digabung dengan investasi, yang populer dengan istilah asuransi Unit link. Unit link Syari’ah mulai diluncurkan sebagai salah satu pemenuhan terhadap tingginya kebutuhan masyarakat, keistimewaan dari produk Unit link syariah ini sebenarnya terletak pada unsur hukum-hukum yang sesuai dengan syariah Islam. Masalah yang akan dibahas yaitu bagaimana mendapatkan model premi tunggal bersih asuransi jiwa Unit link Syariah dengan jenis asuransi jiwa seumur hidup dan alokasi dana investasi yang ditanamkan pada produk investasi dengan suku bunga besar resiko (pendekatan finansial) dan produk investasi dengan nilai tingkat keuntungan (return) yang maksimal (pendekatan aktuarial). Model yang dihasilkan kemudian diimplementasikan dalam contoh kasus dengan membandingkan kedua pendekatan tersebut untuk melihat kekurangan dan kelebihan dari asuransi jiwa seumur hidup Unit link jika dibandingkan dengan asuransi jiwa seumur hidup. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah benefit yang didapat dari asuransi Unit Link syariah secara rata-rata akan lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan asuransi jiwa seumur hidup, benefit maksimal akan didapat asuransi Unit Link syariah menggunakan pendekatan aktuarial dibanding finansial, tetapi benefit dengan pendekatan finansial relatif lebih stabil dibanding pendekatan aktuarial yang cenderung berfluktuatif.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Teams Games Tournaments (TGT), Numbered Head Together (NHT) model to the students mathematical learning achievement that reviewed students mathematical reasoning ability. This research is a quasi-experimental research with 3 × 3 factorial design. The researcher uses 2 indicators of learning achievement that is (1) Mathematics achievement test and (2) Test of mathematical communication ability. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of two-way variants with different cells. The results of this research can be summarized as follows. (1) Learning using TGT learning model makes better students mathematical learning achievement compared to students mathematical learning achievement with NHT learning model and conventional learning, while NHT model gives a better result of students mathematical learning achievement from students learning achievement with conventional learning. (2) Learners with high mathematical reasoning ability have better learning achievement compared with learners with medium ability as well as medium ability better than low ability. (3) Students have high and moderate reasoning abilities with the three learning models giving the same mathematical achievement, whereas students with low mathematical reasoning ability using TGT and NHT models provide the same mathematical achievement, but better than conventional learning models, and conventional learning models and NHT produces the same mathematical achievement. (4) The learning model of TGT and NHT in students with high, medium and low mathematical reasoning ability produce the same mathematical achievement, whereas conventional learning model on students with high and medium mathematical reasoning has the same mathematical achievement but better than students with reasoning low math.
