Abstract

Judul dari skripsi ini adalah Tokoh Radek dalam La Tête d‘un homme karya Georges Simenon,suatu tinjauan psikologi sastra. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaranfisik dan karakter, lingkungan kehidupan Radek, dan peran lingkungan terhadap kejiwaanRadek.Untuk menganalisis novel ini, digunakan dua tahap. Yang pertama, pendekatan instrinsik,karakterisasi Albertine Minderop. Yang kedua, pendekatan ekstrinsik, struktur kepribadianSigmund Freud. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Radek memilki karakterangkuh, pembangkang, kejam, cerdas, dan lihai. Peran lingkungan terhadap kejiwaan Radekmenunjukkan bahwa lingkungan keluarga dan sosial menyebabkan Radek bertindak agresi. Halini juga disebabkan karena dorongan id yang lebih dominan dari superego.Kata kunci: psikologi, karakter, agresi, id, superego

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of metaphorical language styles in songs. Because like poetry, the language used in the song is not the same as the language used when someone is conversing, often the language used in song lyrics is ambiguous and uses the style of the language. Based on this, the researchers are interested to discuss the use of language styles in song lyrics, but in this research, researchers focused on researching only on the style of metaphorical language with the title "Metaphors in the Lyrics of  the song Anggun C Sasmi (Semantic Analysis)". Data retrieval is done by using technique refer and note. The data have been collected and then analyzed using the supporting theories in this research. The theory used in this research is metaphorical and semantic style of language. Metaphor is a comparative language style that is divided into 4 types. While semantic theory is needed to analyze every metaphoric meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Anggun C Sasmi. From the analysis, the researchers collected 20 metaphorical data consisting of: (1) 8 forms of anthropomorphic metaphor, (2) 2 forms of animal metaphor, (3) 9 concrete-abstract metaphor form, and (4) 1 sinaesthetic metaphor form. The use of metaphorical language style in the songs Anggun C Sasmi aims to give the aesthetic effect also reinforces the message conveyed the songwriter.Key words: metaphor, semantic, song, aesthetic, meaning.

Abstract

Tongkonan, as a house and identity marker, also serves as the center of all activities inTorajans‟ life. Tongkonan can not run its roles and functions without a consecration ceremony,namely Mangrara Banua. Mangrara Banua is a ritual for newly completed or renovatedTongkonan. Through ethnographic methods, this consecration ceremony is known not only asa housewarming ceremony for Tongkonan, more than that, Mangrara Banua is exist to answerthe needs of the Torajans about their existence as a group of indigenous peoples.Keywords:Mangrara Banua; Tongkonan; Consecration Ceremony; Memory; The Toraja.

Abstract

Lifebuoy Clini-Shield 10 soap claims that its product kills the bacteria and protects the skin ten times better than any other famous anti bacterial soaps. The advertisement chooses to use the West researcher as the model who finds the new technology called as Activ Naturol Shield inorder to attract and convince the buyers and use the East people as the object of the research. Furthermore, Lifebuoy Clini-Shield 10 is shown as the result of product by the West researcher and as the solution for the health problem. This study aims to explain the image of the Westdomination depicted in Lifebuoy Clini-Shield 10. This study will use the theory of Orientalism by Edward Said to answer the problem above. This study uses qualitative method supported with the data of the advertisement video, as the main source of the data, and some information from the website of the Lifebuoy Indonesia. The results of the study show that the West is depicted as the leader, the source of the knowledge and the inventor of the technology through the Westresearcher. As the effect, people will internalize the hegemony that the West is the most superior nation among the other nations whose people born to lead the world and the East will consider themselves as the inferior nation and must depend on to the West to solve every problem thatthey have.Keywords: Domination, Orientalism, Superior, Advertisement.

Abstract

To save the local language from destruction, the Elementary and Secondary Education Curriculum should includeLocal Language as local content that must be learned. Butin reality, the teaching of Region Laguage still seemmonotonous and boring to the students of primary and secondary schools in Palangga, Gowa. To overcome thissituation, we held training sessions for teachers in order to utilize the computer as a learning medium. The trainingheld on the spot. The teachers are trained to use power point 2007 and installed Lontaraq character fonts into theircomputer, so they can improve their skill in learning to write, listen, and understand the language of the Bugis-Makassar. Abstract

This writing is an attempt to understand the roles of post conflict insititution and the peaceprocess in Southern Philippines. Strengthening post conflict institution that was the outcome ofprevious peace agreement is crucial to push for integration and further peace process. Thedynamics between conflict and peace in Mindanao show the close connectin between coflict andpeace process. When peace process gathered its peace, conflict subsided. And in contrary, whenpeace process stalled, conflict emerged and violence tookplace which threatened human security.This writing deals with four aspects. One, a review of corrent conflict and peace process inMindanao. Second, the weakening of the peace process and the rising threat to human security.Third, humanitarian efforts thus far conducted and lessons learned of such efforts. And finally,this paper will see the conncetion between conflict and peace process in Mindanao and theSabah-Sulu incident. Based on the discussions, this paper will suggest a recommendation to pushforward the peace process and the resolve the Sabah-Sulu problem on ASEAN Comunity level.Keywords: Post-conflict institutions, Peace process, Souther Philippines, Human security

Abstract

This study discusses the comparison of language style in novel Atheist by Achdiat Karta Miharja and novel Telegram by Putu Wijaya. The aims of this study are (1) to describe the embodiment of language styles in novels Atheist and novels Telegram, and (2) to describe the comparison of language styles in novels Atheist and novels Telegram. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The approach used in this research is stylistic approach. Sources of data in this study is a text that contains the style of rhetorical language and figurative style of language. The results show that: (1) the style of language used in the novel Atheist is the style of language; Hyperbole, simile, metaphor, personification, antonomasia, and sarcasm. The style of language found in the novel Telegram namely; Hyperbole, simile, metaphor, personification, antonomasia, and metonimia. Based on the language style found, there are three types of word classes used as word choice in realizing the style of figurative language and style of rhetorical language, namely; Nouns, verbs, and adjectives. (2) The similarity between novels Atheist and novels Telegram is the similarity of hyperbola-style, personification, and antonomasia-forming structures. The difference between the novel Atheist and the novel Telegram lies in the metaphorical style marker which in the novel Atheist is a transitive verb, while in the novel Telegram is a concrete noun.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the error analysis of Indonesian - English made by the student of English Departmentof Unhas . This research is descriptive qualitative .The data collection by means of quistionaire distributionquestionnaires , and the provision of translation tasks t made by the respondents . The subjects of this is students ofEnglish Department Unhas , while its object is tranted texts made by the students. Data analysis performed „content analysis approach‟ concerning with grammatical errors and lexical errors . The results of the study indicatethat translating Indonesian - English exts more difficult, compared to English - Indonesian taranslation. Thisrelates to the level of English competence of the translator .In addition based on the analysis of the results oftranslation errors of students , the total number of lexical errors is little more compared to grammatical errors . Thegrammatical errors, include: structure , coherence and morphological aspects . While errors at lexical aspectsinclude terminology , expressions , and cultural content . Abstract

Personal deixis of Indonesian language especially in Ambonese dialect are widely used in everyday conversation. This study aimed to explain the use of the lexeme of personal deixis of the Indonesianlanguage in ambonese dialect. This research was a qualitative descriptive research which try to study linguistic phenomena by sociopragmatic approach. The research data was the utterances which came fromthe public utterances in Ambon city. Respondents came from all vulnerable ages i.e. children, adolescents, adults, and parents. Data were collected using observation method with recording and note takingtechnique. The data have been obtained, classified and analyzed descriptively with qualitative approach. The results show that, the use of deixis forms of lexemic personality of the Indonesian language in Ambonese dialect comprised into the first single personal pronoun, the second single personal pronoun, and the sole third personal pronoun. The use of the kinite lexeme of the Indonesian dialect of Ambon has different characteristics from other languages. Such distinctiveness is a form of deixis persona that canhave various references and meanings. It is strongly influenced by the social context inherent in Ambonese society. In addition, the context of the situation also affects the selection of words personal deixis. The intended context was whose spoke the language, to whom, and what circumstances.Keywords: deiksis persona, persona pronoun, dialect indonesia Ambon.

Abstract

In this paper, we will discuss about Pluralist and Pluralism in HistoricalPerspective.Pluralism is an understanding, which is historically was not brought by Moslem but from Christian. In 1527 AD, The St. Barthalomens Day‘s Massacre was occured in Paris. 10,000 people of Protestant people were killed by Catholic people. This type of events then inspire Catholic Theology Revision on Vatican Council II (1962-1965 AD). Thus, religion pluralism have no root in Islam history and tradition.Pluralism is seen on many perspectives, such as in Cultural philosophy perspective, Social perspective, Religion perspective.The adoption of religion pluralism factors are:(1)Democracy,(2)Pragmatisme,(3)Relativism, (4)Perennialism.Pluralism in religion can be understood by three categorizes: (a)Social category, (b)Moral and Ethic category, (c)Theology-Phylosophy category. Religion outlook on pluralism.From Hindu,truth is exist and can be found in all of the religions. From Christian (Catholic), they understand that exclusivism of truth should be banned(―ownself religion is true‖ is a vanity).Many Protestant theologist are founder of religion pluralism.However, there are many protests about religion pluralism from protestan themselves.On July 28th, 2005, Indonesian Religious Leader (Majelis Ulama Indonesia, MUI)Pada tanggal 28 Juli 2005, MUI issued a fatwa which forbids pluralism.Thus, MUI stated that pluralism, in the context, contrary to Islam. The inception of various religion pluralism thoeries. The reason of variousity is differences of cultures produce different real opinion. There are two factors of those occurrence, which are: Internal factor (ideology; beliefs and desireability) and External factor.
