Abstract

The development of science and technology has brought great influence to educational technology which further influences learning technology and ultimately to the patterns of learning from conventional/ traditional (textual and teacher only learning) patterns to transition patterns (semi textual and teacher together media) and finally to modern patterns (contextual and media as learning resources). This is very influential on the pattern of learning Civic that is conventional/traditional textual to contextual learning patterns. The current reality in Indonesia is that civic learning is still dominated by conventional systems, so that the application of contextualized oriented learning is still far from expectations, as evidenced by the still serious learning problem, where most students can not relate what they have learned and applications in his current and future life. This occurs because the lesson of civics is less related to the material with the reality of student life, not contextual, consequently civics fails in carrying out its mission to develop civics competence namely civics knowledge, civics disposition and citizenship skills. In carrying the contextualized oriented civics learning, conventional learning system in schools is increasingly believed to be a system that is not effective anymore and resulted in learning Civics felt less meaningful for students To solve the problem of learning civics less meaningful, it is necessary to use contextual teaching approach learning) as one effective alternative. Abstract

In the current era most women play a role in building the family economy. Women help husbands to earn income to sustain family economic life. Not only take care of households, women are also good at working outdoors. Even today many women prefer a career and put aside the household affairs. But in Indonesia there are still many women who are discriminated against in terms of employment, women are made up of second-class citizens and placed in the lowest job positions. The cigarette factory is a factory where most of its employees are women. Most of the women who work in cigarette factories make the job as the main livelihood in the family. Female workers in cigarette factories are placed in production for grinding and packing, the part being the lowest in the job classification in cigarette factories. In this context gender equality means that all human beings are free to develop their personal abilities and choose without being constrained by stereotypes and prejudices about gender roles or characteristics of men and women. Women also have the right to get a good livelihood. Gender equality does not mean that men and women are equal, or have become the same, but rights, responsibilities, social status and access to resources are independent of gender. Through this research, researchers want to reveal in more depth how the life of female workers in cigarette factory. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenal research, by interviewing several female workers selected through snowball techniques. This research is located in Sorgum cigarette factory of Malang regency. The results showed that female workers at the Sorgum Malang cigarette factory have not reached a good economy despite working for decades.DOI: 10.17977/um022v3i12018p048

Abstract

Understanding the Subthemes of Nature of Indonesia, especially on sub-theme Flora and Fauna will be more easily understood by learners based on the learning experience gained from the transfer of knowledge submitted by teachers. For that, teachers need to use a medium as an intermediary in learning. The appropriate learning medium is to use "Sipete". It is also expected that the selected learning media can improve the activity and learning outcomes of learners. Based on the results of research proves that the use of learning media "Sipete" can improve the activity and learning outcomes of learners. Evident from each cycle showed a significant improvement. In the first cycle of learning activities, only 15 students (46.88%) showed high learning activity with the percentage of success reached 57 in enough category, increased to 23 people (71,88%) in Cycle II with the success of the action reached 73 in good category. In the third cycle increased to 27 people (84.38%) which showed high learning activity with the percentage of success reached 82 in very good category.DOI: 10.17977/um022v3i12018p013

Abstract

Discipline is an important aspect that every student should have, to achieve the learning objectives. Discipline, however, is often found as a problem in the classroom. This problem was found in grade VIII SMP Lentera Harapan Lampung Tengah students in Integrated IPS subjects. To solve the problem, in this research applied reward and punish to improve student discipline of class VIII. The reward form applied is in the form of praise, tape reward, and sign strengthening (certificate), while the punish form is the cutting of time and cost to be paid, with modifications called 'red box'. The methodology used in this research is Classroom Action Research method. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII with a total of 14 people, consisting of 11 men and 3 women. The results of the study on student discipline levels obtained from this study is the first cycle 69.8%, 83.4% and third cycle 93.8%. It can be concluded that the application of reward and punish can improve the discipline in Integrated Social Science subjects in the seventh grade students of SMP Lentera Harapan Lampung Tengah.DOI: 10.17977/um022v3i12018p053

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe contextual-based thematic learning plan that is implemented in Muhammadiyah Primary School 9 Malang, (2) to describe contextual contextual teaching-learning in elementary school Muhammadiyah 9 Malang; (3) to describe contextual based thematic learning evaluation in Muhammadiyah Primary School 9 Malang. Methods This study is a qualitative descriptive study that describes phenomena in the field without treatment. The object of this research is the students of grade V SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang. Sources of data obtained from teachers and students of class V. In addition, learning tools used when the implementation of learning. Main techniques of data collection through observation, documentation and interviews as research support techniques. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display and conclusion / verification. The results showed that contextual thematic learning planning at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang was good enough and run as it should be. Implementation of contextually thematic learning at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang still not in accordance with the planning. The practice of contextual approach to thematic learning is still less than optimal. This is because teachers are less well understood with the application of contextual based thematic approach. Finally, the implementation of thematic learning evaluation that is used is in accordance with the assessment standards used. Abstract

This paper aims to disseminate the results of the study and get feedback about the "Social construction on Multiculturalism". Five years ago Ahimsa Putra states that the face of Indonesia as pluralism without multiculturalism. Until now the problem of multiculturalism has become something that must be kept alive in an attempt to minimize the incidence of national disintegration. Winter tried to rethink multiculturalism by taking a lesson from Canada, that Canada has experienced setbacks in implementing the work program of multiculturalism. While Pakulski looks at the implementation of multiculturalism policy program in Australia as a blur. Scuzzarello, with optimism, invites to care about multiculturalism and share power on different communities. Gozdecka (et al), in recent years after the multicultural declared, stated that it is a failure both in Europe and in Anglophone West. This study was conducted in Blitar, using a qualitative approach to data collection methods and also interviews with ten informants. As a result, the construction of the community regarding multiculturalism: they consider themselves as the brother. In addition they also describe that: (a) assert one's cultural identity, study and assess the cultural heritage of a person; (b) respect and desire to understand and to learn about (and from) cultures besides their culture; (c) assessing and were delighted with the difference in the culture itself, which saw that the presence of groups from different cultures in the community as a positive thing to be respected and maintained. The harmony was found both in everyday lives, especially in the Religious and National holidays, for example, Eid Al-Fitr, Vesak, Christmas, and others religious holiday. Abstract

In the process of education, teachers play an important role as a determinant of the achievement of educational goals. The learning process in the classroom is seen to play an important role when serving learners in learning. Pedagogic competence is the ability to manage the learning of learners which includes students' understanding, design and implementation of learning, evaluation of learning outcomes, and development of participants. Teachers will build a positive attitude in learning, generate curiosity, encourage independence and accuracy of intellectual logic, and create conditions for learning. Therefore, teachers are expected to be able to design activities, communication, and association that leads to learning. Interest, talent, ability, and potential learners will not develop optimally without the help of teachers. Learners one and the other there are basic characteristics, then the teacher must pay attention to individual characteristics of learners. Characteristics of students, ie (a) individuals possessing typical physical and psychical potentials, (b) developing individuals, (c) individuals requiring individual guidance and humane treatment, (d) the individual has the ability to be independent. The problems faced by the teacher about the lack or inability to master the characteristics of learners when implementing the learning, among others: (1) inability to master the characteristics of moral-emotional aspects of learners, (2) lack of mastery of socio-cultural aspects of learners, (3) lack of control (4) lack of mastering the intellectual aspect of the learner, (5) lack of mastering the moral aspect of the learner, (6) there is some kind of child character when learning. Abstract

Project Based Learning model based on local potential is a project-based learning model, the resulting project is a business proposal, processed food products and packaging labels and small business practices in the School. Food processing products produced are foods or beverages that utilize the local potential of agricultural products in Malang. Potential of Malang area include agricultural products spread in Malang area that is apple, strawberry, orange juice, bark, banana, sweet potato. The last project is a small business practice formed by several students who work with school cooperatives. This small business is a temporary business that is practiced in schools with business actors are the students who are formed in several groups, the activity is to sell the results of the food processing business project in the school cooperative. Processed food products can be produced food, snacks or drinks. The learning model is applied to the subjects of entrepreneurship and is the subject of knowledge transfer that is taught in all majors at the senior high school or vocational high school level, where the material contained in the subjects consists of four aspects: craft, engineering, cultivation and processing. Each school is required to take one material aspect.
