Abstract

Curriculum is the foundation of the teaching-learning process. One of the most important activities of the university is the development of curriculum or course outlines in consonance with the national and international demands and realities.This study was conducted to the 29 alumni of English Department of Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training. The data needed were the perspective, opinion and suggestion from the alumni of English Education Department Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training of IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin. These data gained from the result of questionaire, in depth-interview and documentation. This research found out  that the course of English department curriculum has given perspective for alumni which most of them said that this curriculum has been run well and have good content. The courses have to be developed to address specific set of needs and to cover a given set of objectives. This English curriculum  develop students’ awareness of the learning process and their role as learners by developing their knowledge and skills, how to use reference words,  design to assist them in independent study, awareness of their own learning styles, strengths and weakness, familiarity with various techniques, foreign culture and  nature of learning strategies.

Abstract

The developmental research objective is to produce the module of outer space physics (Fisika Bumi Antariksa or FBA) that is suitbale and effective to increase the students’ achievment of Physics Education in Faculty Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University. The developmental method used Four D Mode covering define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of research is 33 students who took the outer space physics lecture for odd semester in 2011/2012. The data collection technique used the evaluation of suitability, questionnaire, and test. The tecnique of data analysis is qualitative and descriptive. The result of research stated that (1) the module of outer space physics is suitable for learning material relating to content, language, and dilivery; (2) the students’ achievment is good because 9% of the students total number got “A” meaning very satisfying, 45% of them got “B” meaning satisfying, 27% of them got “C” meaning enough satisfying; and (3) the students responded positively to the use of the module of outer space physics in teaching learning activity. In a word, the module of outer space physics is suitable and effective to increase the students’ achievment of Physics Education in Faculty Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University.

Abstract

The research has the objective to evaluate the implimentation of KTSP at vocational school in Yogyakarta. The research result says that (1) the implimentation achievement of variable descriptive test result relating content context and the implimentation of education policy with the score 64.51% is categorized sufficient, (2) the support of school to the implimentation of KTSP with the score 75.69% is categorized good, (3) the implimentation of readiness of school program and school resources with the score 80.58% is categorized good, (4) the implimentation of process involving teachers and students is categorized good, (5) and the problem in implimenting KTSP is fund, facilities, and the lack of knowledge about KTSP for vocational school.

Abstract

The student’s interest in learning Tsunami material in SMK Banua Lawas 1 is low, therefore it is below the standard classical completeness. This study aims to (1) Improve student comprehension, (2) Enhance the ability of the students argued, (3) Knowing the students’ responses. Research design used a class action research with 2 cycles. The subjects were 29 students of grade XC SMK 1 Banua Lawas, Tabalong. The research instrument is observation sheet, questionnaire responses and student achievement test. Results showed (1) student comprehension increases from 68.1 in the first cycle to 81.72 in the second cycle. Mastery learning classical increases from 62.10% in the first cycle to 96.6% in the second cycle. (2) student ability to give opinion increases from “good” category (34.5%) to “very good” category (82.8%), (3) students’ positive response increases from “very good” category (41% or 12 students ) and “good” category (59% or 17 students) into “very good” category (69% or 20 students) and “good” category (31%).

Abstract

Abstract. The low level of science process skills (KPS) of students has an impact on the difficulty to understand physics learning. For this reason, a development research which aimed to produce and describe the feasibility of learning devices based on learner autonomy that are able to train science process skills was carried out. The research used a development model of ADDIE. The research subjects were 26 eleventh graders of science class-3 (class XI IPA-3) of Public Senior High School (SMAN) 6 Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and tests. Technical data analysis was carried out in quantitative and qualitative descriptive ways. The results showed that the learning devices developed were: (1) valid according to academician’s assessment with very good categories, (2) practical according to the implementation of lesson plan (RPP) with very good category, (3) Effective according to the gain score achieved with moderate category, and (4) result in students’ Science Process Skills (KPS) achievement with skilled category. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning devices based on learner autonomy to train science process skills developed are feasible to be used in learning. Keywords: learner autonomy, science process skills. Abstrak. Rendahnya keterampilan proses sains (KPS) peserta didik berdampak pada kesulitan memahami pembelajaran fisika. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis learner autonomy yang mampu melatihkan keterampilan proses sains, sekaligus mendeskripsikan kelayakannya. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE. Subjek uji coba penelitian ini adalah 26 peserta didik kelas XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Banjarmasin. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan tes. Teknis analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan: (1) valid berdasarkan penilaian akademisi dengan kategori sangat baik, (2) praktis berdasarkan keterlaksanaan RPP yang berkategori sangat baik, (3) Efektif berdasarkan perolehan gain skor yang berkategori sedang, dan (4) Pencapaian KPS siswa berkategori terampil. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis learner autonomy untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Learner Autonomy, Keterampilan Proses Sains.

Abstract

The degree of learning assistance services through face-to-face tutorial presented to the university students of the Open University will bring about an impact on the height of participation of the university students in the implementation of that tutorial and in the end it will affect the learning achievement of the university students. This research is intended to know the perception of the university students of S1 PGSD UPBJJ-UT Banjarmasin toward the learning assistance services in the form of that face-to-face tutorial. This kind of research is a survey research by using the data collecting instrument in the   form of questionnaire. The subject of the research is all the university students of S1 PGSD Classroom Teachers of the Open University (UT) within the 2014 registration period of the 1st semester, numbering 30 university students. The research result has shown that 37,25% of them are very satisfied, 62% of them are satisfied, and the remaining 0,75% of them are not satisfied with the services of face-to-face tutorial.

Abstract

This study aims to improve teacher performance in conducting exploration, elaboration, and confirmation in science classroom. The School Action Research  conducted in fourth and fifith grade of SDN Sidorejo Tanjung consists of 2 (two) cycles. Research subjects are two science teachers in fourth and fifth grade. The findings revealed that through establishing action in 2 cycles, fourth grade science teachers ability to conduct exploration improves from 8,0 to 12,0; elaboration improves from 9,0 to 13,0, and confirmation improves from 8,0 to 12,5. For fifth grade science teacher, teachers ability to conduct exploration improves from 6,5 to 12,0; elaboration improves from 6,0 to 12,0; and confirmation improves from 7,3 to 12,0.  In general, teachers’ ability to conduct exploration, elaboration, and confirmation increase from 52,25% in cycle 1 (good category) to 78% in cycle 2 (excellent).

Abstract

Abstract.  This article presents the findings of a qualitative study conducted in English Department of Pekalongan University in 2018. The study aimed at revealing students’ and teachers’ perceptions about the importance and the meanings of independent learning particularly in their language learning. However this article only reports the interview results with fourteen students. The findings signal the students’ positive perceptions about independent learning. All students considered independent learning as important to improve their mastery of English. They also presented various reasons on the importance of doing independent learning. Interestingly, while all students reported the importance of doing independent learning, they described independent learning with a range of meanings. This suggests that independent learning means different thing for different students. Among the meanings they give to independent learning covers: 1) individual effort to improve the language competence, 2) individuals’ learning habits, 3) independent learning activities, 4) self-evaluation activity, and 5) self-reflection activity. Key words: qualitative study, independent learning, perceptions

Abstract

One parameter of the professionalism of teachers is teachers teach according to their fields. Therefore, dissemination of subject teachers of each school should be evenly distributed. This study is aimed to describe the spread of the teachers at the Junior High School (SMP) as Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS). This type of research is a survey. The subjects were teachers throughout the district SMP HSS. Data were collected through: questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed the overall number of teachers for the subjects of Religious Education and Character , Pancasila and Citizenship Education ( PPKn ) , Indonesian , English, Mathematics , Natural Sciences (IPA), Social Sciences ( IPS ) , and Physical Education and Health has been fulfilled , but the distribution is yet uneven.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the module of  Research Metodology especially for Class Action Research (CAR) material which is worthed and effective to increase student creativity and comprehension in Department of Physical Education Faculty of Teacher Training Education Lambung Mangkurat University. The data was analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. The result are converted by the degree of concensus; if supporting answers are selected by more than 50% respondents, the item will be kept. An item is going to be dropped, if 50% respondents reject the supporting answer. The findings show that this module; a) helps student to understand the material; b) relates the phenomena of moving activity; c) has the format that is easy to follow; d) has the sufficient procedure; (e) easy to understand (f) has meaningful and usefulness in supporting lecture; (g) improves students’ comprehension and creativity; (h) helps students to arrange class action research plan. The high of concencus degree shows that the use of this module is the best solution to cope with student problem in Research Methodology class.
