Abstract

Employment is one of the economic indicators that show the situation and socio-economic conditions of a region. The high unemployment rate shows the narrowness of employment opportunities caused by not develop of regional economic. Conversely, the low unemployment showed developing of economic activity in that region, because it can create employment opportunities. Therefore, policies that lead to the creation of employment opportunities should be taken by the executive of a region. Over the last four years (2007-2010), labor force, not the labor force and population of work absolutely tend to increase parallel with the increasing of the total population of Bali and the work age population (over 15 years). Meanwhile, unemployment tends to decline. This is caused by an increase of the work age population are accommodated by the developing of the tourism service sector and the informal sector. Proportion of the Bali labor force that works sectorally shifts significantly over the last four years (2007-2010), especially the labor force who work on agriculture declined, and labor force who work on social service sector, social and individual increase. In the same period, absolutely number of population who work in the formal and the informal sector increased, but relatively people who work in the formal sector declined, which is compensated by an increasing the population working in the informal sector. There was a drastic increase of Bali labor power placement to abroad over the last three years (2008-2010). This indicates that the interest of workers in Bali, especially young workers to work abroad is huge. Tourism in Bali has become the engine creator of employment opportunities significantly. Increased tourist arrivals who accompanied increased of tourist spending, the more increased (demand) several of output produce by economy sectors, ultimately creating more employment opportunities. Labor force of Bali Provincial, particularly labor force graduate from Tourism Vocational High School, Diploma I, II, III, or IV of Tourism which dominates of the Balinese young labor force are very ready to compete in the era of free trade to meet the demand of professional manpower from abroad.

Abstract

This paper provides extensive review and categorization of the work-family conflict (WFC) literature. Review is begun with existence of six theoretical frameworks which most widely utilized in role conflict literature: role-related theory, resource-related theory, spillover theory, scarcity hypothesis, institutional theory, and social identity theory. The review is completed by recommendation of study and theory extension in the future by their shopistication from culture-neutral study and theory to culture-sensitive study and theory. This extension is expected to beneficial for both developing three ways interaction study and theory of role conflict and giving additional knowledge for organization and management in arranging role-balance initiative programs.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influencing factors of married women to involve into job market. This research used approach of survey, by using enquette as data compiler.  Responder in this research is wife with husband have job, conducted by purposive sampling. Total of responden to be taken 131 responden. The variables of this research are: woman do not work or work (Y), education level of wife (X1), amount of total expenditure of family (X2), amount of husband’s income (X3), number of depending family (X4), and type of main occupation of husband (X5). The analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and log-linear analysis. The results using the log-linear analysis showed that the most influence factor on woman to work is education level of wife and amount of husband’s income, while other variables such as amount of total expenditure of family, number of depending family, and type of main occupation of husband, also affect but by indirectly.

Abstract

The 9 years compulsory education program purposes to give minimum education to the Indonesian citizen for developing their potency in order to live independently in their community or to continue their education to the higher education. This research aimed to know  response of isolated Village Community towards 9 years compulsory education program and also the variables that influencing those responses. This research located at Munti Gunung Village The variables that identifies influencing the responses of Munti Gunung Village Community towards 9 years compulsory education program is analyzed through multinomial logistic regression method. From 221 samples, 66,52  percent families support the program, 5,43 percent families are apathetic, and 28,05 percet families do not support the program of 9 years compulsory education program. The result that is analyzed by multinomial logistic regression method produces the best models: The apathetic statement that is compared with supported statement model. g1(x)= -28,27236 + 22,45813x1 – 0,00000896x7 + 0,2349989x2 – 1,90424x3 The unsupported statement that is compared with supporting statement model. g2 (x) = -9.427904 + 3.773763x1 - 0.00000901x7 + 0.2554591x2 - 1.011138x3 Based on the best models that are formed, the independent variables that significantly influencing the responses of the Munti Gunung Village Community towards 9 years compulsory education program are children’s sex (x1) and the age of the head of family (x2), both of those variables are influencing positively, otherwise the head of family’s education (x3) and family’s income (x7) influencing negatively. The determination coefficient value that is formed based on the best model is 60, 57  percent.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of real wages rates, gross domestic product, physical investment, and price changes both simultaneously or partially toward the labor absorption and also to know the effect of labor absorption, minimum wages, and education level both simultaneously or partially toward the level of real wages in Indonesia. The result showed that the variables of labor absorption, minimum wages, and education level simultaneously affected the rates of real wages in Indonesia significantly. The variables of labor absorption and minimum wages partially found affected the real wages rates positively and significantly, whilst the variable of education level partially affected the real wages rates in Indonesia negatively and significantly. On the structural equation of labor absorption, variable of real wages rates, GDP, physical investment, and price changes simultaneously affected significantly the labor absorption in Indonesia. The variables of real wage rates, GDP, and price changes partially found affected the labor absorption positively and significantly whereas the variable of physical investment partially had no effect toward the labor absorption in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper analyze institutional and good governance Lembaga Perkreditan Desa (LPD) in Bali. This research want to know are they institutional dan good governance in LPD. The result is institutional LPD have good governance in which they are we can see at management LPD in Bali and have succesfully to help many people include poor people to develop their live and business. Bali governance have big attention and union custom also give positive result about LPD in Bali.
