Abstract

Vendors or in Indonesian, PKL (Pedagang Kaki Lima) is one of modes incity transformation which is not separable from economic system of the city.Vendors are one of businesses which have high spirit of entrepreneurship but thissector often encounters difficulties. Policy of the government tends to marginalizethis sector. Rukmana (2005) said that vendors fenoment in economic system ofthe city isn’t the unsucess social group of the suburb economic system. The socialgroup is not the component of suburb economic which is to be responsibility ofcity development.This location of this research is the area of Lapangan Puputan Margaranathat is to be called Lapangan Renon, Denpasar. The location choised is based onsome reasons, such as 1) the area is prohibited for vendors and 2) the area is notfar from the center of city goverment.From the research, it could be concluded that vendors who remain in thearea does not mean that they oppose the government by violating the regulationbut that act (strategy) is done by rational factors. They have to do that becausethey have to fight for life, either it is economically, socially and culturally.

Abstract

Improvement the performance of employee is give positive impact incorporate goal, therefore management has to learn attitude and behaviouremployee in corporate. There are some factor which influence for performancean employee, amongst those level stress of employee and industrialsrelationship. Thing such it, The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa, one of lodging firm atKuta, Badung, that getting assimilates to outrival by effort a sort also noticestress and industrial relationship in effort increases employee performance.This research was aimed to find out how the influences of stress andindustrial’s relationship and variable which that influential largest for theemployee performance of The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa, Kuta, Badung. Toanswer that, therefore done by research where all employee which is 84 personare made as respondent. Hereafter the data analysis consisting of validity andreliability of research instrument (quitionare), classic assuming test, andmultiple regression analysis (simultant and partial test)Based on analysis result is gotten that stress and industrials relationshipin simultant and also partially effect, having for significant for employeeperformance of The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa Kuta, Badung. Industrialsrelationship having for greater influence for employee performance of The VillasBali Hotel and Spa Kuta, Badung.

Family planning program has been designated to be gender awareness, but in practicethere are state hegemony against women happened, makes women participated higher thanmen in according to reach program target. This is happened pushed by several factor such asideology factor, contraception devices supply, economy factor, location of programsocialization factor, and state policy factor. To avoid women from state hegemony herebycan be advised to provided a balance suplly of contraception devices between women andmen, and also on their socialization.

Abstract

Kedudukan ilmu – ilmu budaya di dalam peranannya pada lingkungan bisnis,sangatlah memprihatinkan. Disiplin ini kurang menyumbangkan kompetensi yangmemadai untuk dapat memberikan sumbangan yang berarti bagi jalannya roda bisnisyang semakin berputar dengan cepat dalam ketatnya persaingan. Tidak ayal lagi,banyak lulusan ilmu ini hanya berserakan menjadi pengangguran, atau berusahauntuk bekerja apa saja dengan menanggalkan ilmu yang telah dipelajarinya dengansusah payah di bangku kuliah. Di sisi lain, perguruan tinggi menunjukkankegagapannya di dalam menghadapi masalah ini. Para civitas academica semakinmenunjukkan keangkuhan ”menara gading”, yang seolah – olah merasa bahwamereka bisa memberi sumbangan yang berarti bagi khalayak ramai.Di lain pihak, para penggiat bisnis terutama industri minyak dan gas,sebenarnya membutuhkan pendekatan sosial dan budaya untuk memperlancarkegiatan bisnis mereka yang banyak berhubungan dengan masyarakat lokal. Abstract

In a difficult economics condition, many woman have to take a part in to overcomeeconomic problems which they face. One of its alternative is involved into labour market,and trade is one of its choice. Because of the existence of opportunity in Denpasar City,many women overcome their economic problems and try to give contribution to theirhousehold income by selling canang.The aims of this research were: 1) to study about economics activity of woman ascanang sellers in Denpasar City; and 2) to analyse how far woman’s contribution ascanang sellers in improving their household economics resilience.Approach which is utilized in this research is survey method and depth interviewmethod. Research area elected by using purposeive method, that is in Denpasar City.While responder in this research is woman as canang sellers, and total responder to betaken 150 person. Datas collected by observation and interview to responder by usinginterview technique used questionnaire according to wanted of data. Data collected in fieldrepresent research variables: 1) Economic Activity of Responder; and 2) Contribution inEconomics of Household. Data analyse technique used descriptive qualitative to obtaineddata from result of interview and observation, while quantitative data analysis usedanalysis of statistics, that is descriptive statistics and inferential.Result of the research showed that mean of work duration of responder is 11,5 year,there are 17,3% responder representing new comer, because duration their involvement asnew canang seller just one until two year. Most responder have work duration ? 10 year,that is equal to 51,3%. Mean of work hours per week is 70 hour. Responder withoutassisted by family labour, predominated by 51,3%, constructively one person labour fromfamily, there are counted 39,3%. From 77 responder without family labour, there are 62person do by themselves without existence of family labour. Omzet per day from sellingcanang relatively high, that is Rp. 103.000. Mean of capital required per day is Rp.72.900,-, and mean of netto earning per day obtained by responder is Rp. 25.400. Meanpercentage of contribution of canang seller in this research is 35,79%. Ranged from 4,2%until 98,33%. Analysis of responder’s answer regarding the reason of them to involve asseller of canang, there are 86,0% responder which replying because reason of compulsionto work, reason of self actualization answered by 11,3% responder, while other reasonanswered by 2,7%.

Abstract

One of the most important factors to improve the population quality is education.Udayana University is one of the oldest higher educations in Bali. The students are notonly coming from Bali, nor outside of Bali but also from overseas. The total of activestudents attending the education in Udayana University is 17.461. The recent data, fromthe last three years showed that there has been a quality improvement in terms ofeducation. This is proved by the tendency of improving Achievement Index Cumulative(IPK) for regular S1 as 3.05 in 2005, became 3.06 in 2006 and 3,14 in 2007.Apart from the success being mentioned above, Udayana University is still facingimportant problem related to the opportunity which is not taken by the student candidatesIt can be recorded that such opportunity (empty chair) in Unud is still very high (41%)although there was a declining number comparing to the last year data. Considering thefact that the number of SMU (high school) graduates tended to be high, it is importantto conduct research in order to find out the various factors slowing down the societyaccessibility to attend education in Udayana UniversityThe aims of this research are to find out the factors slowing down of the societyaccessibility to attend education in Udayana University. This research was conducted inthree outside cities of Bali, namely: Malang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. These three citieswere chosen due to be that they have been known as the centers of education cities. Byconducting research outside of Bali, it is expected to find out that there are realisticreasons why they did not choose Udayana University as the place to continue theireducation. The respondents from each city are (1) 80 persons in Yogyakarta; (2) 70persons in Surabaya and (3) 70 persons in MalangThe influencing factors are viewed from the culture system study, among others :mind-set system, social and artifact aspects. The respondents generally stated the basicconsiderations why they did not choose Unud are (i) education quality (41.4%); (ii)education cost (9.1%); (iii) supporting facilities (10.9%); (iv) working prospects (24.5%)and (v) academic atmosphere (14.1%)In relation to such finding, the main suggestions to be implemented that Unudshould soon improve the education quality. The main key to improve the education isto qualify the teaching staff. The teaching-learning process done by all of UdayanaUniversity teaching staff must be thoroughly controlled, based upon the providedstandard operational procedure
