Abstract

Badung Regency is the one of the primary distination area of migrant inBali Province. It’s caused by the development conducted tend to concentrate tothis region, and it’s reflected by the concentration of some activities as well as thecenter of government, economy and trade, education, health services, and thecenter of tourism.The objectives of this rescarch are to know the different of marginalpropensity to consume (MPC) between nonpermanent migrant workers from Baliand outside Bali; the effect of income, education, and remittances on consumptionspending of nonpermanent migrant workers simultaneously; the effect of income,education, and remittances on consumption spending partially; and to know thedominant variable that influence to consumption spending. In this research wasprimary data from 160 respondents of two villages in Badung Regency thase areJimbaran and Dalung. Technique of data analysis is used simple linearregression, multiple linear regression, clasic assumption test, F-test, t-test andanalysis of dominant variable.Some findings of this research are: that the MPC’s of nonpermanentmigrant workers is still low, as well as the MPC’s of nonpermanent migrantworkers from Bali is 0,248 and 0,133 for nonpermanent migrant workers fromoutside Bali. Simultaneously, the income, education, and remittance variables aresignificantly influential to consumption spending of nonpermanent migrantworkers at level of significant 1 percent. Pertially, the income, education, andremittance variables are also significantly influential to consumption spending ofnonpermanent migrant workers at level of significant 1 percent. The last findingthat income is the most dominant variable have an effect to consumption spendingof nonpermanent migrant workers.In relation with aboved conclusions can be suggested: Firstly, the usingremittances thas sent by nonpermanent migrant workers to its origin in order toproductive activities so thas can push the origin area. Secondly, thenonpermanent migrant workers have to pay attention to the environmentalcondition compatibility in distination area, like to participate in social activitiesand to maintain the cleanlines environment in distination area.

Abstract

This article discussing about Indonesian’s labor. Many out of workersused the special way that was supplied by Government; the legalization ofrequirement agency was showed by Government. It was called the servicemobilization of Indonesian’s labor (Pengerah Jasa Tenaga Kerja Indonesia). Butthe requirement process and the place process of Indonesian’s labor were alwaysas disadvantages side. Many problems of the cost that have to be guaranteed byIndonesian’s labor candidates before they went to abroad. The law of enforcementto guarantee safety of Indonesian’s labor has not been priority yet. According tothe quantity, Semarang city sent many Indonesian’s labor to Malaysia. Thispurposes of this article are; 1) to describe the processing of sending managementIndonesian’s labor to Malaysia by Semarang’s PJTKI.2) to explain Indonesian’slabor interaction toward PJTKI and Government sent Indonesian’s labor toMalaysia by Semarang City. 3) To know the sending effects of Indonsian’s laborto Malaysia by Semarang’s PJTKI. According to the article result could beconcluded that Indonesian’s labor of Semarang has ever worked or will work toMalaysia that the age and education were contradiction to Government rule.Beside that, the sending process of Indonesian’s labor to Malaysia, either predeparture,placement, or return. It was still difficult and the deflection. BeingLegal Indonesian’s labor was more difficult and very bureaucratic that illegal –way.

Abstract

Population mobility for some people is one of strategies of ruralhouseholds to improve their prosperity, and to make and increase their income.The reason why the tendency of mobility is moving forward to the urban area isbecause the economic condition of the rural area is not answering a demand ofproper living of the society. It is also because the urban area is offering morepromising and growing informal sectors such as the merchandising. Thepopulation mobility from the rural to the urban area result a dependabilitybetween the village and the city since the immigrants is sending their income totheir family at the hometown. Remittance, according to Curson, is a transfer ofmoney, goods, and development ideas from the urban area to the rural area, andis one of instruments of the social and economy changing on the way of living of asociety.This research is held at Cabawan Village, Margadana Subdistrict, TegalMunicipality, Central Java Province (from 1997 to 1998). Cabawan Village ischosen upon a consideration that the Cabawan society is a remittee since themajority of populations (77.9%) are food-mongers who have a Warteg business inJakarta and nearby cities, so the mean of support of the society is stronglydepending on the remittance from the food-mongers (Warteg businessman). Thisresearch is describing about a strong interdependence between the food-mongersand their families at their hometown, which is implemented in the form ofremittance that has a particular effect on the villagers’ way of living both in theaspects of economic, social, and cultural.The result of this research suggest that a remittance is having a veryimportant role in the way of living of Cabawan villagers since the food-mongerswho have a Warteg business in Jakarta and nearby cities is having a significantcontribution on the mean of support of the society. The majority of the Cabawanvillagers are strongly depending on the remittance. A quite significant amount ofremittance from the city to a village is resulting in an advancement andimprovement on the rural economic, changing on the social behavior in thesociety life style and way of living, and also has a significant effect on theproductive manpower in rural area.

Abstract

The performance of hospital is influenced by the increasing cost of publichealth service. The increasing cost of public health service are because of the costof human resource which serve the service (input) becoming more expensive andthe patient of the hospital ( output ) has an decreasing ability to pay the publichealth they need. The performance of the hospital could be measured by thequality of the service.The goal of this research is to identify the gap between perceived servicequalities and the medical patient expectation of the service quality. The servicequality gap observes by tangibles factors, reliability, responsiveness, assurance,and empathy.The medical patient who treat in hospital which already applied ISO9001:2000 are the sample of this research. The gap analyses is using theImportance-Performance Analyses program.The measurement of the service quality shown that tangibles variable stilllow in every hospital except Kasih Ibu hospital, the attribute of physicalappearance dan staff appearance are in a good category. Reliability variable arealso low in every hospital except Surya Husadha Hospital, the administrationattributeis in a good category and at BRSU Tabanan Hospital the carenessattribute is also in a good category. Responsiveness variable also shown lowcategory in everi hospital. ssurance varibael shown a low category except SuryaHusadha Hospital, the staff hospitality is in a good category. Emphaty variablealso in a low category except in Surya Husadha, according to service timeattribute is in a good category.

Abstract

The efforts to improve gender equity and equality have been taken place for yearssince the struggle of R.A. Kartini. Up to present, the efforts are still in place, however, notyet gain expected results. Preservation of gender inequality can be reproduced in family,society, as well as in the country.The increasing attention to gender is forced by women conference conducted by theUN. Four paradigms are identified: 1) Women in Develoment (WID) concept thatemerging researches on womwn participation in development process; 2) Gender andDevelopment (GAD) concept in which female is related to male; 3) Women’sempowerment; 4) Gender Mainstreaming. All of these paradigms have been implemented,but the results are not as expected.This condition reflects the needs of more critical attention in the implementation.For instances by considering women heterogeneity in terms of culture, social, andeconomis values, and thus it is necessary to take a need assessment in individual andinstitution levels. Men are also needed to take participation in gender studies to avoid bias.It ia also important to carry out program of education information communication tospread the information about women programs that have been and will be conducted toimprove women participation. Also, government commitment is crucial to increase gendersensitivity in public bureaucracy

Abstract

Discussions about lansia have been increasingly important due to the increasingnumbers of them. This is enabled by the improvement of economic and socialcondition of the society. Lansia is different from other group of people mainly in terms ofhealth and needs aspects.During 1990-2000, lansia has grown 1,8% averagely and during 2000-2005 thegrowth has increased to 2,4% to form more than 311.000 people (9,2 % of population).Description of lansia in Bali is done based on data of Population Census, Supas,and Sakernas. The result shows that most of them are not cost of development, in fact,they are development assets. This can be seen from several indicators, like (1) morethan 80% of lansia has “good” and “fair” health condition; (2) almost 80% of lansia donot need assistance in doing activities; (3) unemployment rate of lansia is very low(<1,0%). Sixty percent of working lansia are employed in agriculture sector, and the restare in trading, hotel& restaurant, and manufacturing industry respectively.
