Abstract

Abstract. The fisheries industrialization program tries to place thedownstreaming of seaweed as one of the strategies to increase the added value ofthe seaweed commodity. However, the competitiveness of the national seaweedindustry is also relatively low compared to foreign industry. One of the problemsof the competitiveness of the processed seaweed industry is because the extent ofthe use of technology in the processed seaweed industry has not been identified. The purpose of this research is to map the use of technology in the processedseaweed industry in downstreaming a competitive and sustainable Indonesianseaweed industry. The mapping of the existing condition of technologyutilization refers to five indicators, namely production aspect, cost aspect, HRaspect, energy aspect, and environmental aspect. The development strategy of theseaweed downstream industry is developed by using the SWOT method. Therecommended technology standard analysis is based on the benchmark method. Results of the analysis shows that the dominant type of technology used is the„semi-mechanical technolgy‟ which mostly comes from Europe/America followedby Japan, local, and China. In order to increase the competitiveness andsustainability of the Indonesian processed seaweed industry, improvements in thefields of artificial drying, high value added (downstream) technology andtechnology for food safety is required. Several action plans required among othersare: the solar system dryer in the upstream industry, the implementation of qualityand food safety management system in the production chain, identification andinvestment of high value products in the seaweed downstream industry. Keywords: seaweed, technology assessment, SWOT, upstream and downstreamindustry

Abstract. Research method that used is descriptive analysis. The subject of thisresearch was employees golf operation department at Imperial Klub Golf, PTLippo Karawaci. Tbk, Lippo Village, Tangerang. This research was begin bypreparing the test in the form of multiple reasoned choice (two-tier diagnostictest), those questions were selected based on the indicators which had to beachieved by the employees in accordance to the standard and basic competence asof employees golf operation. The results of the evaluation showing the employeesunderstanding not met with company targets. Based of result of the research, it issuggested that management can develop learning strategies and models toimprove the understanding of employees with a combination of conventional andactive learning strategies. Recommended of learning strategies and models withadapted to current conditions are: (1) Strategy Expository (direct instruction),through lectures learning methods (lecture) and demonstrations. (2) Affectivelearning strategies, through the provision of task learning methods (modularizedinstruction) and exercise (drill and practice). (3) Group of cooperative learningstrategies (cooperative learning), the learning method of discussion and frequentlyasked questions. (4) The learning strategies of Conceptual Teaching and Learning(CTL), the learning method demonstration, sociodrama, field trips (fieldexperience)Keyword: Knowledge Quality and Maintenance Understanding, Two-TierDiagnostic Test, Learning Strategies and Models.

Abstract

Abstract. PT. Utama Raya Motor Industry is a company engaged in the field offurniture have a problem relating with the frequency of downtime continues toincrease every time due to the damage caused to machinery. Therefore, thenecessary steps to be able to cope with and prevent such problems. TotalProductive Maintenance (TPM) is one method that can be used to improve theproductivity and efficiency of machinery effectively. One application of TPM is ameasure the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), then proceed with the sixbig losses OEE measurement to determine the efficiency of the missing and thelargest contributing factors that lead to low effectiveness of the six factors six biglosses. The data used from January to December 2014 with the object of researchelectroplating machine. During the month the average value obtained averagevalue results are low. From these measurements indicate that the setup andadjustment losses has donated the biggest losses in the engine electroplating, followed idling and minor stoppages losses. So that the necessary repairs heatingsystem solution and electroplating machine filter system to reduce losses thatoccur due to setup and adjustment losses and losses idling and minor stoppages. Keywords: TPM, OEE, six big losses, Pareto diagram, cause-effect diagram.

Abstract

Abstract. Innovation can be made from small thing in our routine. Seiri (sort),Seiton (set in order), Seiso (shine), Seiketsu (standardize), and Shitsuke (sustain)is 5 Japanese words which is a systematic technique that is closely related toefficiency. Kaizen has been widely recognized in the world as continuousimprovement through small steps which impact economically for the company. These systems help management to manage the workplace, improve disciplinary, decrease waste and increase productivity. Mory Industries Inc. is one of theJapanese-owned stainless steel manufacturing company that upholds qualitycontrol which contribute significantly to the implementation of Kaizen and 5S.This study explores innovation of Kaizen implementation which refers to 5S thatapplied on the production floor and also the office in a concrete way. Directobservation will be carried out as the basis of the methodology of this study.Without any record detail activity of 5S that should be done by the workers, buteach worker has already implemented as a habit in their daily work. Abstract

Abstract. In the production system, all machineries and support system has arole in supporting the achievement of production targets. To achieve thesegoals, each machine and its supporting assets, including forklifts, need to bemaintained. In large quantities controlling the maintenance system in manualway is not possible anymore. The current maintenance system in PT GajahTunggal still rely on manual control, where the system information formaintenance scheduling forklift still rely on telephone and the maintenanceitems are still very simple, even just oil changes. Apllying a modern systemmaintenance with RCM approach is posible and on its implementation, combined with the ERP system that has been applied to the productionmachinerries, the oracle system module EAM (Enterprise Asset Management)and take advantage of advanced features of the oracle alerts. Forkliftmaintenance schedule information is automatically sent to the owner of theforklift, which is spread in many areas, by means of e-mail has been setup on thecell-phone will minimizes the possibility of not getting or forgotten information. Keywords: maintenance system, information system, oracle alert

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study is to determine the Sigma Level of SM6switchgear production at PT. SCP, knowing the cause of Manufacture Defect Rate(MDR) high and propose improvements in the quality of production through theanalysis of Six Sigma DMAIC method. The result showed the level of Sigma hasachieved of company target but only six month. The root cause of the problem ofhigh MDR is caused by three factors: Material, Man, and Method. Proposedimprovements is hiring quality assurance design to solve drawing error, engineering design must informed to the related team when there are changes ondrawing, standardize the material to reduce variations in type of component, add3M double-tape adhesive or replace material with traffolyte label for problemlabel component are easily separated. Proposed improvements to the problems onman factors with training scheduled on an ongoing basis about wiring skills, knowledge of type of component in the panel as well as the importance ofmaintaining quality management in the production process. Proposedimprovements to the problems on Method factors is socialization and supervisionof the implementation of the working procedures. Keywords: Quality improvement, Six Sigma, Defect rate, DMAIC
