Abstract

Fatigue is a subjective feeling that different for everyone, which leads to loss of efficiency, decreases work capacity, health problem and the bodys ability to survive resulting in work accident. The purpose of this research was examining the factors associated with subjective work fatigue on nurses working in dr. Mohamad Soewandhie hospital in Surabaya.This research was an observational study with cross sectional design. The respondents were nurses of emergency, outpatient, and inpatient units in dr.Mohamad Soewandhie hospital. The variables were individual factors were consisting of age, years of working life, nutritional status, gender, and occupational factors were consisting of the workload and the monotony condition of work toward work fatigue. Spearman correlation test was using to test the relationship of each factors, except the relationship of gender and the monotony condition were using  Mann-Whitney.The results showed that the most of the respondentss were 25-30 years old, female, 1-10 years of working life, had better nutritional status, had a moderate heavy workload and felt the monotony condition in her work. The result of fatigue measurement used the checklist which indicated that the most of the respondents experienced no relationship between age, gender, years of working life, workload, and the monotony condition the results also proved the existence of a relationship between nutritional status with p=0,00. It could be concluded that the nutritional status of nurse in dr.Mohamad Soewandhie hospital had a risk of causing fatigue.  Keywords: Individual factors, occupational factors, and work fatigue

Abstract

Work stress occurs when the demands of the job do not match with capabilities, resources, needs and worker discontent. One of the effects of   work stress is increased blood pressure. This study was performed to determine the effect of work stress on the increased of blood pressure in press cutting PT.X. This study is analytical study which is explain the influence work stress to increase of blood pressure. This study using  cross sectional methodology. The population of this study is people who work at press cutting PT. X  who ammount to 40 persons. The sampling technique  is total sampling. In order to knowing the influence of work stress to increase of blood pressure that is using logistic regression and then that is  explanning at naration and tables. The result of this study show that from 40 respondent 35.00 % getting  work stress. Respondent who get work stress and increased the blood preasure is 25.00 % from 40 respondent. And also that is showing mean of blood pressure and increase blood pressure respondent’s who get work stres higher than respondent who do not get work stress. Using logistic regression obtain  Exp(B)= 5.625.  It is showing at worker who get work stress have risk of increase blood pressure higher than do not get work stress. Keyword: increase of blood pressure, press cutting workers, workstress

Abstract

The hospital have a high risk of occupational diseases and accidents at work. Medical waste can transmission of the disease on the medical waste management officers. Therefore, it was necessary to minimize accidents and disease transmission. The purpose of this research to identify hazards, risk analysis, risk evaluation, and the control efforts on the management of medical waste in Lamongan Muhammadiyah Hospital.  This was a cross sectional study with descriptive analysis. Interviews and observations conducted at 6 medical waste management officers. The research variables are potential hazards, level of risk and control efforts on the hospitals medical waste management. Potential hazards found in this research that the noise hazard, high temperature, moisture, puncture wounds, contact with medical waste, contamination, disease transmission, injury, and muscle fatigue. Based on the risk analysis found that exposure levels were categorized with high frequency. Found the risk of risk evaluation in this study is that containing a very high risk, risk priority 1, big risk, risk priority 3, and acceptable risk. Control measures undertaken by the hospital to the risk that controls with engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment (PPE).  The efforts should be by the medical waste management officers to reduce the risk with used the personal protective equipment (PPE) that have been provided by the hospital at work.Keywords: hazard identification, risk assessment, medical waste

Abstract

Hazards are potentially harmful. In the gas industry that has raw materials, tools / machinery, production and hazardous environment must use the completely and correctly. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of safety inspection and compliance with the use of PPE in H2, CO2 and dry ice plant in PT. X Region Gresik.This research is descriptive observational research, using cross sectional research design. The sample was 6 workers as sample interview and observation and 1 (one) HSE officer as sample of interview. The data collection includes safety inspection and the compliance of plant workers in the use of PPE. The data analysis used in this research is presented in tabular and narrative form, then using cross tabulation to see whether there is a correlation between the conformity of the number of PPE, the condition of PPE to the worker compliance in the use of PPE.The results showed that majority workers did not use PPE, the number of is not suitable with the number of workers, the condition of PPE is not feasible and compliance of the use of PPE plant workers is still low. Significant linkage between the availability of PPE TO compliance with the use of and the lack of significant correlation between the condition of PPE to the compliance of usage.The conclusion of this research is low frequency of safety inspection. Should increase frequency of safety inspection. And also HSE officer officer in carrying out safety inspection. The suggestion is to increase the compliance of workers in the use of PPE. Keywords: Safety inspection , PPE.

Abstract

scavenger is one of job that have a risk for the health or work safety cause usually interact with the garbage as a source of disease factor and can be a good place for disease vector development. The purpose of this study is to know the skin disease that happens at scavenger from occupational safety and health aspect. The population are 43 people , and the sample amount is 33 people which found from simple random sampling technique. The result showed that most of damage excerpter are women with work period from more than 4 years, work in less than 8 hours a day. From 33 people, 27 people have skin disease, with 7 people got tinea unguium diagnosis.. Another kind of skin disease that found at scavenger are, tinea korporis, tinea falvalis,tinea versikolor, candidiasis, karbonkel, folikulitis, dan miliria rubra that cause of mush,parasite, and high perspiration activity. Skin disease can happens cause of the more of cloth using and high temperature climate and less of personal hygiene from damage scavenger work pattern.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOccupational Safety and Health (OSH) behaviour is influenced by predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors. Occupational accidents caused by various factors at work can be avoided, if the worker and the company management have a good will to prevent it. OSH behaviour is necessary for the prevention of occupational accidents. The purpose of this research was to describe the association between predisposing, enabling and reinforcing factors with behaviour of workers (mill line rolling mill 3) on the implementation of safe behaviour in PT. Hanil Jaya Steel. This was an observational descriptive study with cross sectional approach and carried out among 26 respondents. The variables studied were age, length of employment, level of knowledge, attitude, frequency of worker’s OSH training, frequency of OSH training which provide by the company, availability of personal protector equipment, regulation assembly, standard operational procedures assembly, co-workers’ support, supervisor’s support, reward, punishmnet and safe behaviour. The strength of relationship between variables were analyzed by using Contingency Coefficient (C). The results showed that there were weak association between level of knowledge, frequency of worker’s OSH training and behaviour (C = 0.085 and C = 0.255, respectively). There were moderate association between age, length of employment, co-workers’ support and behaviour (C = 0.398, C = 0.328 and C = 0.400, respectively). And Also there was strong association between attitude and behaviour (C=0.556). It is recommended that the company providing OSH training section frequently for all workers, improving the monitoring system of workers, and providing reward and punishment program, in order to improve their safe behaviour in preventing occupational accident in workplace. Keywords: predisposing, enabling, reinforcing, safe behaviour  ABSTRAKPerilaku K3 dipengaruhi oleh faktor predisposisi, faktor pemungkin, dan faktor penguat. Kecelakaan kerja yang disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor dalam pekerjaan bisa dihindarkan, apabila pekerja dan pimpinan perusahaan ada kemauan baik untuk mencegahnya. Perilaku K3 diperlukan untuk pencegahan kecelakaan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara faktor predisposisi, faktor pemungkin, dan faktor penguat mengenai perilaku pekerja (unit mill line rolling mill 3) terhadap penerapan perilaku aman di PT. Hanil Jaya Steel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan dilakukan pada 26 responden. Variabel yang diteliti adalah umur, masa kerja, tingkat pengetahuan, sikap, frekuensi pelatihan K3, frekuensi penyelenggaraan pelatihan K3, ketersediaan APD, penempelan/pemasangan peraturan, penempelan/pemasangan SOP, dukungan teman kerja,  dukungan pimpinan/pengawas, reward, punishment dan perilaku aman. Kuat hubungan antar variabel dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Koefisien Kontingensi (C). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang lemah antara pengetahuan dan frekuensi pelatihan K3 dengan perilaku aman (C = 0.085 dan C = 0.255, berturut-turut). Terdapat hubungan yang sedang antara umur, masa kerja, dukungan teman kerja dengan perilaku aman (C = 0.398, C = 0.328 dan C = 0.400, berturut-turut) serta terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara sikap dengan perilaku aman (C=0.556). Disarankan bagi pihak perusahaan untuk mengadakan pelatihan K3 secara berkelanjutan kepada semua pekerja, meningkatkan sistem pengawasan pekerja, serta mengadakan program reward dan punishment dalam rangka meningkatkan penerapan perilaku aman pekerja dalam pencegahan kecelakaan kerja di tempat kerja. Kata kunci: predisposisi, pemungkin, penguat, perilaku aman

Abstract

ABSTRACT Effects heat stress on physiological responses can be seen on increase body temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure (systole and diastole) and also weight loss. The aim of this study is to analyze the physiological responses of workers exposed to heat in confined space heater PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia. This was an observational study with cross-sectional design. The sample was all of population (10 workers). Data was collected by measuring heat stress (WBGT), physiological responses before and after working and also questionnaire of individual factors. The result of heat stress measurement show that average of WBGT is above the Threeshold Limit Value (34,9OC) with the workload of the workers was in the heavy category (461,94 ccal) and work time category 0-25%. The result showed that the average body themperature before working was 36,73oC and after working was 38,13oC. The average pulse rate before working was 90,85 beats per minute and after working was 96,1 beats per minutes. The average systolic and diastolic blood pressure before working was 124,85 mmHg and 72,05 mmHg and the average after working was 126,05 mmHg and 72,45 mmHg. On the other hand, the average weight before working was 59,58 kg and after working was 58,3 kg. Hence, there were difference on the result of body temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure and weight before and after working in CS heater.Keyword:   Heat stress, physiological response, confined spaceABSTRAKEfek dari iklim kerja panas pada respon fisiologis tenaga kerja dapat dilihat pada peningkatan suhu tubuh, denyut nadi, tekanan darah (sistolik dan diastolik) dan juga penurunan berat badan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis respon fisiologis tenaga kerja akibat iklim kerja panas di confined space heater PT. Nippon Shokubai Indonesia. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan desain cross-sectional. Besar sampel adalah keseluruhan populasi yaitu 10 orang. Data didapatkan dari pengukuran mengukur iklim kerja panas (ISBB), respon fisiologis sebelum dan sesudah bekerja dan juga kuesioner faktor individu. Hasil pengukuran iklim kerja panas menunjukkan bahwa rerata nilai ISBB sebesar 34,9OC sehingga telah melebihi Nilai Ambang Batas dengan beban kerja berat yaitu 461,94 kkal dan kategori waktu kerja 0-25%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rerata suhu tubuh sebelum bekerja adalah 36,73oC dan sesudah bekerja adalah 38,13oC. Rerata denyut nadi sebelum bekerja adalah 90,85 denyut per menit dan sesudah bekerja adalah 96,1 denyut per menit. Kemudian rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik sebelum bekerja adalah 124,85 mmHg dan 72,05 mmHg, dan rerata sesudah bekerja adalah 126,06 mmHg dan 72,45 mmHg. Selain itu rerata berat badan sebelum bekerja adalah 59,85 kg dan sesudah bekerja adalah 58,3 kg. Oleh karena itu, terdapat perbedaan antara suhu tubuh, denyut nadi, tekanan darah (sistolik dan diastolik) dan berat badan sebelum dan sesudah bekerja di CS heater.Kata kunci : Iklim kerja panas, respon fisiologis, ruang terbatas

Abstract

ABSTRAKDermatitis kontak akibat kerja yang merupakan salah satu penyakit kelainan kulit sering timbul pada industri tidak terkecuali industri pada pabrik tahu  rumahan yang dapat menurunkan produktifitas pekerja. Pemaparan zat kimia yang digunakan dalam proses penggumpalan dapat menyebabkan dermatitis kontak, mengakibatkan iritasi dan gangguan kulit lainnya dalam bentuk gatal-gatal, kulit kering dan pecah-pecah, kemerah-merahan, serta koreng yang tidak sembuh-sembuh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan rancangan cross sectional dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif . Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan maret  – desember 2016 pada pekerja pembuat tahu yang berada di wilayah RT: 6 RW: 2 Desa Joho Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Kediri. Penelitian ini menggunakan total populasi sebanyak 25 orang. Beberapa faktor yang diduga sebagai penyebab dermatitis kontak adalah faktor eksternal (lama kontak, frekuensi kontak, suhu dan kelembaban) dan faktor internal (usia, riwayat penyakit kulit, riwayat atopi, riwayat alergi, masa kerja, jenis pekerjaan dan penggunaan APD). Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar pemeriksaan dokter, thermohigrometer, dan kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh kemudian di uji menggunakan uji chi-square dengan tingkat kemaknaan α = 0, 05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 72 % responden mengalami dermatitis kontak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama kontak (p=0,007), jenis pekerjaan (p=0,012) dan penggunaan APD (p=0,000) ada hubungan dengan kejadian dermatosis. Sedangkan frekuensi kontak (p=0,534), suhu (p=0,355), kelembaban (p=0,319), penyakit kulit (p=0,362) dan masa kerja (p=0,673) tidak ada hubungan dengan kejadian dermatosis. Beberapa hal yang dapat disarankan untuk menurunkan risiko terkena dermatitis  kontak adalah meningkatkan kesadaran pekerja terhadap penyakit kulit khususnya dermatitis kontak. Menjaga kebersihan diri (personal hygiene). Memakai alat pelindung diri berupa sarung tangan yang menutupi sampai bagian lengan, baju kerja yang menutupi seluruh bagian tubuh dan sepatu boot. Kata kunci : Dermatitis, pekerja pembuat tahu, faktor yang berhubungan

Abstract

PT. Star Queen Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang vehicle manufacture. Banyaknya pesanan menyebabkan stres kerja yang dirasakan oleh pekerja tidaklah kecil, sehingga pekerja dapat mengalamai kelelahan. Selain stres kerja, iklim kerja juga dapat mengakibatkan kelelahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan iklim kerja dan stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur Indeks Suhu Bola Basah (ISBB) adalah Heat Stress Meter Quest Temp 36, stres kerja menggunakan kuesioner manajemen stres, dan kelelahan kerja menggunakan kuesioner Industrial Fatigue Research Comittee (IFRC). Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pekerja area workshop PT. Star Queen Indonesia sebanyak 15 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai ISBB yang melebihi NAB yang ditentukan meliputi area workshop bagian pemotongan dan perakitan, sedangkan stres kerja yang banyak dirasakan tergolong sedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji chi-square dengan nilai α = 0,05 (5%) dengan hasil menunjukkan ada hubungan antara iklim kerja dengan kelelahan kerja (Sig. 2-tailed = 0,001) dan ada hubungan antara stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja (Sig. 2-tailed = 0,000). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa adanya hubungan iklim kerja dengan kelelahan kerja dan adanya hubungan stres kerja dengan kelelahan kerja.

BEBAN KERJA MENTAL DAN KELUHAN KELELAHAN KERJA PADA BIDAN DI PUSKESMAS JETIS YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

ABSTRACK The main task of midwife support was to decrease Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) by midwifery services. The profession of midwife not only as midwifery services but also as a manager, researcher, and educator in society. Profession as a midwife need good physical and mental health. Therefore, all midwifery professionals were have to optimum performances. This research aim were to describe mental work loads and work fatigue of midwife in Puskesmas Jetis Yogyakarta. This research was decriptive with cross sectional approach. The sample used total sampling with 15 midwifes who worked in Puskesmas Jetis Yogyakarta. The instruments for collect the data used by interview, observation, and filling NASA-TLX with IFRC questionnaires. The results showed that physic workload category amount to 46% (Physical Demand = 14%, Temporal Demand = 22%, Own Performance = 10%), and mental workload category amount to 54% (Mental Demand = 18%, Frustation = 15%, Effort = 21%), also average fatigue of midwife on the medium level as 60 %. The conclusion of this research showed that mental workload of midwife gave more effect than physic workload. Keywords: work load, midwife, work fatigue ABSTRAK Tugas utama profesi bidan adalah mendukung penurunkan Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) dan Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) melalui pelayanan kebidanan yang berkualitas. Tugas bidan tidak hanya sebagai pelaksana pelayanan kebidanan, namun juga mempunyai peran sebagai pengelola, peneliti, dan pendidik di masyarakat. Profesi sebagai bidan merupakan pekerja yang membutuhkan kesehatan fisik dan mental yang baik. Oleh sebab itu profesi bidan dituntut memiliki performa yang optimal. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan beban kerja mental dan kelelahan kerja pada bidan di Puskesmas Jetis Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan waktu cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling sebanyak 15 Bidan yang bekerja di Puskesmas Jetis Yogyakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengambilan data menggunakan kuisioner beban kerja NASA –TLX, kuisioner IFRC, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dimensi NASA-TLX kategori Beban Kerja Fisik sebesar 46% (Physical Demand = 14%, Temporal Demand = 22%, Own Performance = 10%), dan kategori Beban Kerja Mental sebesar 54% (Mental Demand = 18%, Frustation = 15%, Effort = 21%), serta rata – rata tingkat kelelahan kerja sedang sebesar 60%. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa beban kerja mental pada bidan dirasakan lebih besar daripada beban kerja fisik. Kata Kunci : beban kerja, bidan, kelelahan kerja
