Abstract

This paper explains about dynamics of Moslem’s life in Indonesia on the era of the Ducth Colonialism. In history, before European came to Indonesia, Islam had increased in Indonesia and had become majority religion since 13th century in Sumatera island. There, established an Islamic Kingdom, namely Samudra Pasai, and then transformed to Aceh Darussalam kingdom, furthermore, in the early of 15th century, Islam had dominated the region of Malaka (as a center of Southeast Asia trade).When Islam had come in Indonesia, spreading of Islam started by Islamic Scholars with huge motivation. Beside spreading Islam, they were trading also. The important role of scholar could be tracked on the Islamization map which is directly similar with economic development and the establishment of Islamic kindoms.In several region had become the center of trading. International Moslems whom became to important exponent and made communities on the beach area. Through this community, Islam had introducted to the society.However since The Ducthman came to Indonesia, trade situation had changed. Abstract

Egypt was a province of moslem when Umayyah and Abbasiyah empire still exist in Arab. Egypt was an important province, because there is so much Islamic civilation. In history, so many empires was conrolled by the Egypt. One of the empire was exist in Egypt is Fathimiyah. Fathimiyah was an important empire, it can be seen by a lot of sciences had develop in North Africa and became a center of Islamic civilization development. Beside it, there was an empire had ever contolled Egypt, it was Mamluk. Mamluk Empire controlled Egypt and survived from Mongol’s attack when Abbasiyah Empire in Baghdad had fallen. It means Mamluk was powerful. Before Mamluk, Ayyubiyah controlled Egypt. Shalahuddin al-Ayyubi was a famous leader and founder this empire. When Shalahuddin became a leader, he could got back Yerussalem to be a Moslem Empire.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the political map in South Sulawesi at the beginning of Islamization. There are three sub-problems that were subjected to this study, namely: (1) How did the social cultural situation of South Sulawesi society? (2) How did the political map both before and after Islam was accepted as the official religion in South Sulawesi Kingdom? (3) How did the impact of Western colonizers on the political landscape in South Sulawesi?In order to uncover the answers of those problems, researcher applied the historical method. The sources will be used is library literature. Library literature includes conceptions literature and research data. The data were obtained wiil be analyzed using qualitative data analysis.As a result of this research: First, the social cultural situation of South Sulawesi community can be seen by three tribes in the South Sulawesi, namely Bugis, Makassar and Toraja. These three tribes, had a different socio-cultural background, however, there are a same things in those tribes. Secondly, before the arrival of Islam in South Sulawesi, there are several kingdoms. That kingdoms had formed an alliance and still continue during the coming of Islam. Although the backgrounds and different forms of partnership. Third, the arrival of the West, particularly VOC brought penetration in various aspects of community life in South Sulawesi. Especially the political aspects, the Netherlands created hegemony, among the political forces. In that political forces appeared a lot of  conflict, especially among the Gowa Kongdom with Bone Kingdom.

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to describe the motivation of the resurrection in Islamic World in the XIX – XX century. As well as we know, after three great kingdoms in the Islamic world (Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal) suffered a setback, Countries in Europe appeared to be a new power in the world in the XIX century. This situation caused Muslims become a minority and marginalized people in the world. However, the motivation to restore the glory of Islam still exists because of the strong impulsed of the Islamic doctrine. So gradually, the Muslims were able to rise again, either by way of modernization or purification of Islam. In fact, there are a lot Islamic countries with Muslims as a majority people in it, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India (before India splited into Pakistan) and Indonesia.

Abstract

The aim of this study to discover the social and economic life of yellow corn farmers in the Tonrorita village, Biringbulu District, Gowa Regency, by uncovering the background of the society which develop yellow corn plants. Then to describe the development of yellow corn plants in Tonrorita Village. Moreover, to analyze the impact of yellow corn the changing of social and economic in the Tonrorita Village society, Biringbulu Districts, Gowa.This research is a historical description using historical methods that include heuristic, critic, interpretation, and historiography or writing a historical narrative. Then the results showed that the yellow maize crop development in the Tonrorita Village, District of Biringbulu began in 1985. That is the start of the public to switch from hazelnut cultivation to the yellow corn cultivation. The role of government couldn’t be separated from the success of the yellow maize crop, namely the provision of capital, formation of farmer groups and agricultural extension.From the results of this study concluded that increasing yellow maize cultivation in the Tonrorita Village, Biringbulu District, Gowa Regency has a very broad impact to the farmers. Farmer economic level was increasingly prosperous, as well as the fulfillment of social needs of farmers.

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to analyze the influence of Islamic value in culture and local wisdom of Buginese people. Then we will find a tremendous fact, that our culture and local wisdom has an Islamic value. Talking about culture, culture is something very important in a society, because culture is an identity. Culture makes a society different with the other society. In a society, culture has a value, but it different in every societies, because it is influence by society background. Indonesian culture is different with Arabic culture. Arabic culture influnce by desert, so they live in hard life, that is completely different with Indonesian life because they live in fertile area. Fertile area will create a tremendous culture, namely local wisdom. Local wisdom in a society could influenced by religion. In Indonesia, local wisdom was influenced by Islamic value. It happened, since Islam had becomed a majority that influenced every people in our society. Further, Indonesian had a local wisdom than it was combined with Islam, especially Islamic value. It made a culture has Islamic value.

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to describe about the Dynamics of Muslim’s life in England within historical perspective. In general perspective, England is an area which is Muslim population no longer. Since 1860 Islam have entered in that area, additionally, based on the England Population Statistics, England is an area in western civilization whose massive Muslim peoples. It was caused by a multiculturalism policy made of England Government in 1961. The policy that is used to sustain the human resources for each immigrant has been changing for Muslims in England territory. Futhermore, Muslims can perform the Islamic regulation (sharia) among the non-Muslim people in the society. However, Muslim in England has to face the presence some of islamophobic organizations such as English Defence League (EDL), Afro-Carribean and others which always disturb Muslims life in England.

Abstract

Ali’s era was colored by rebellion and chaos which were started from the death of Uthman Ibn Affan. That problem wasn’t resolved by Ali, had resulted the emergence of Jamal war, Siffin war, and there is also a challenge from Khawarij sect to the government of Ali. Jamal war occurred because of the involvement of the various interests from the people who had participated in the war, for example Aisha group involved because of the interests of Abdullah ibn Zubair and Talhah. In the other hand, the reason of Ali involved to that war is just because to maintained the existence of legitimate caliphate and the interests of Muslims. While the Siffin war happened for insubordination of Muawiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan and the sense of discontent against the existence Caliphate and Ali’s political policy against Usman. The war was ended with the tahkim to Ali, and Muawiyah got more benefits from that. The loses of Ali not only because the dismissal of him as caliph, but there are a lot of loses that Ali Caliph got, like some of his followers retreated and out of Ali’s line, because they disagree with the tahkim which was originated from the habit of jahiliyah. Those who came out had known as the Khawarij who always opposed Ali and Muawiyah.

In that time, education implemented in various mosques, but because the number of students and in order to maintain the quality of worshipping to the God then, Nidham al-Mulk founded madrasah to response the demands of society in order to study well, namely Nidhamiah.

Abstract

This paper explains about Umayyah’s empire in Andalusia specially about his influence to western’s civilization. Before they became to super power countries, actually they were rearward state. When Islam was coming to Andalusia, Moslems built so much civilization. It’s like Cordova University had become to the Central of Science in Europe. So many Students were studying in there until Umayyah’s empire had fallen. Islam was coming in Andalusia when Musa Ibn Nushair became an Islamic governor in North Africa. At the same time in Andalusia was chaos by Gothic Kingdom. So, people of Andalusia asked some help to Islamic empire in North Africa. Finally, Musa Ibn Nushair sent Thariq Ibn Ziyad to help Andalusia’s people. It’s beginning of Moslems were coming to Andalusia. After Umayyah’s empire in Damaskus had Fallen, Abdul Rahman al-Dakhil rebuilt Umayyah’s empire in Andalusia. So much Influence after this, for example in philosophy field had Ibn Rusyd as famous philosopher. Ibn Rusyd thought was very influence to Andalusia’s people until Andalusia’s people made renaissance on 14th. Although Umayyah’s empire had lost, but spirit science of Umayyah’s empire still exist in Europe. This paper explain on history side and doing on qualitative research by library research.
