Abstract

Title Influence of gargle with mint (Mentha piperita) leaf water stew to pH saliva alteration  Abstract Mint (Mentha Piperita) oil contains menthol which cause cold spicy flavor. Sensation can affect the degree of acidity of saliva (pH). The degree of acidity or down low salivary reach critical pHcan lead to demineralization of the tooth causing caries process. The research objective was to determine the effect of mint leaves boiled water rinse to changes in the pHof saliva. The research used a quasi experiment. The design of this study used a pretest and posttest with control group, the observation was done 2 times before and after treatment. Data analysis method used descriptive quantitative. The study was conducted in class V SDN Asinan Bawen Semarang as many as 26 children were divided into 2 groups, 13 children mint leaves boiled water gargle and rinse with distilled water 13 children. Normality test data by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The results of the normality of the data showed p> 0.05, which means that the data are normally distributed. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical tests pair t-test and independent T test. The results indicate that there was a description of salivary pHchanges after gargling decoction of the leaves of mint. But statistics show no effect of mint leaves boiled water rinse to changes in saliva pH.From the research results can be recommended to conduct research with material extraction method that does not damage the active substance of the material.

Abstract

TITLEIMPLEMENTATION OF 5R TO PREVENT OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES IN SRAGEN INFORMAL INDUSTRY TO DENTAL, ORAL AND RESPIRATORY TRACT HEALTHABSTRACTPilang village in Sragen are famous for the production of batik clothes that still using manual processes to produces the batik. Most of the batik industry in this village produced for local industry that is not familiar with the implementation of health and safety, that caused many complaining of occupational diseases in workplace. The one of occupational disease is a disease of the teeth and the mouth and respiratory  that indicated caused from dye clothing, wax and smoke from burning wood and gas for drying the batik fabrics motif by workers. To prevent the impact of occupational illness, one preventive method that can be used is the 5R.Respondents are batik workers at the Pilang village in Masaran District of Sragen that total respondents are 37 peoples. The method that used in hazard identification, risk assessment and determinating control (HIRADC). After the a priority scale through the model of HIRADC determinated, then performed the corrective actions taken by using a hierarchy of control especially the 5R methods.The workers of Batik Industry in PilangVillage has exposure the CO gas that exceeds the threshold value at 69-90 ppm, and temperature humidity index at 32.5-33.50C. Especialy for behavioral factors is working without personal protective equipment that are harmful to health due to exposure to gas and dye clothing. Key words : 5R, batik workers, occupational diseases, dental mouth disease, respiratory problems

Abstract

TITLEEffect of rich and less sugar tea consumptions to pH salivaABSTRACTEveryday people often consume sweetened tea drinks. The sugar content mixed into the tea drink varies greatly depending on the tastes of the people. Sugar is a simple carbohydrate that can affect salivary acidity (pH). This study aims to determine differences in salivary pH after consuming tea drinks with different levels of sugar different.This research type is Experiment. Research design is pre test and post test with control group. The number of samples is 45 people of Dukuh Temuireng village Sukorejo Regency Pemalang with age 20-35 years. Sampling method using random sampling technique. There are 2 groups of treatment, the group consumes rich sugar tea and less sugar tea. The control group was the group that consumed free sugar tea. Analysis of data in use is One Way Anova Test.The results showed that salivary pH after drinking rich sugar tea decreased the pH <7 value by 80%. And the less sugar tea group decreased the pH <7 by 73%. While the salivary pH after drinking free sugar tea increased at pH value> 53%. One Way Anova test results are sig. 0.00 <0.05 which means there is a difference of salivary pH in the 3 groups of different sugar levels. Sugar levels in tea drinks can affect the saliva pH of a person who consumes tea drinks. The fluoride content in tea can prevent the occurrence of dental caries but if drinking tea with excessive sugar will result in the occurrence of caries in the teeth. Keywords : Rich sugar tea, less sugar tea , pH of saliva

Abstract

TITLEThe relationship between oral hygiene status and learning achievement of students in SD Negeri 2 Sangga Beru, Gunung Meriah, Aceh SingkilABSTRACTDental and oral health is art of physical health which cannot be separated from one to each other. The main problem is that many school children are affected by caries which can decrease their learning ability. The objective of the research was to find out the correlation between dental and oral health status and elementary school students’ learning performance.The research used analytic descriptive method with cross sectional study design. The samples were 70 elementary school students, taken by using random sampling technique. Primary data were gathered by conducting clinical examination and secondary data by finding out progress report cards. The gathered data were analyzed by using bivatriate analysis with chi square statistic test.The result of the research showed that 50% of the respondents had good dental and health status (def-t and DMF-T), 32.9% of them had moderate def-t and DMF-T, and 17.1% of them had bad def-t and DMF-T. It was also found that 42.9% of the respondents had bad learning performance, 38.6% of them had moderate learning performance, and 18.6% of them had good learning performance. The result of chi square test showed that there was significant correlation between dental and oral health status and students’ learning performance at SDN 2 Sangga Beru, Gunung Meriah Subdistrict, Aceh Singkil District at p-value = 0.009 (p ≤ 0.05). The conclusion of the research was that dental and oral health status could influence learning performance.Key words : Dental and Oral Health Status, Learning Performance

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the factors that influence caries process is saliva, among the food products that can enhance the acid product is milk. Salivary pH can be increased by the use of a solution of baking soda. Objective to determine differences in salivary pH between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda.Types of research using descriptive method with cross sectional approach, the research will be conducted by a quasi-experimental. The population is a fifth grade elementary school students Gedawang 02 Semarang as many as 28 people. All the population sampled, and then divided into two groups randomly, which consists of: the intervention group without baking soda as many as 14 people, and groups with baking soda mouthwash for 14 people. Quantitative analysis inferential statistical test independent t- test with 95% confidence level (α = 0.05).The results showed there were differences in the pH of saliva between milk drinking group with a solution of baking soda mouthwash and gargle solution without baking soda. The state of saliva pH children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda mouthwash on a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang with an average of 7.58. While no solution of baking soda rinse average 7.32 Conclusion salivary pH significantly different between children who drink milk with a solution of baking soda rinse with mouthwash to drink milk without a solution of baking soda in a Class V student elementary Gedawang 02 Banyumanik Semarang, appropriate statistical test results independent t test with a value of (p value = 0.043), p value <a. It is recommended to the students to be able to choose an alternative material that can raise the salivary pH towards the base, one of which is by rinsing with a solution of baking soda concentration of 1%. Key words : salivary pH, Milk, Baking Soda Mouthwash Solution

Abstract

TITLEThe relationship of DMF-t index to learning achievement in SDN Pagejugan 01 and SDN 03 Brebes of Brebes DistrictABSTRACTDMF-T score is the grade which is obtained from dental decay, missing and fiiled that caused by dental caries. 89% Indonesian children at the age under 12 years, have dental caries. This condition will effect their health, growth and learning achievement. The aim of the research is to know the relation DMF-T grade to learning achievement between SDN Pagejugan 01 Brebes and SDN 03 Brebes.The type of the research is descriptive quantitative where sample is taken by Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. There are 209 samples; 119 samples in SDN 03 Brebes and 90 samples in SDN Pagejugan 01 Brebes. The data is taken by observing and examining. The independent variable is DMF-T score and dependent variable is learning achievement.The result of the research is the average DMF-T grade of SDN 03 Brebes is 0,7 which has the lowest criteria and SDN Pagejugan 01 Brebes is 1,4 which has low criteria. The average of learning achievement SDN 03 Brebes is 76,78 which has good criteria and SDN Pagejugan 01 Brebes is 68,46 which has good enough criteria. It means that SDN 03 Brebes tends toward there is relation DMF-T grade to learning achievement and SDN Pagejugan 01 Brebes tends there is no relation to learning achievement. The researcher suggestion is the student should take care of their teeth and mouth by brushing their teeth regularly, teacher and parents should control children’s teeth regularly and they also should introduce how to take care of teeth and mouth. For research, it should be done by using serious caries category like pulpitis or periodontitis. Kew Words  : DMF-T Score, Learning Achievement

TITLEINTERNAL CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION ANALYSIS TOWARD ACHIEVEMENT OF EDUCATION PROCESS STANDARD IN POLTEKKES KEMENKES SEMARANGABSTRACTIn the cycle of continuous quality improvement, standards need to be evaluated and improved through benchmarking on an ongoing basis. National Standards for Higher Education (SNPT) is set to develop a service quality educational unit. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal customer satisfaction towards the achievement of the learning process standards in the Ministry of Health Polytechnic Semarang.This study uses a descriptive-quantitative method with performance Importance and Performance Analysis / Customer Satisfaction. Research carried out by the academic community population that consists of elements: students, lecturers, and employees (internal). It affects the variable is Internal Customer Satisfaction and variable influence is the quality of services that include attributes: reliability (reliability), responsiveness (responsiveness), assurance (assurance), empathy (empathy), and tangible (physical evidence).As a result, for Student customers, which should be improved in the future, namely: ease of connection, physical infrastructure, and customer cost. For Lecturers, which should be improved in the future, namely: ease of intercourse and Physical Infrastructure. As for customer Employees must be improved in the future, namely: ease of intercourse and Physical Infrastructure. TITLEThe effectiveness of chewing stringy and watery fruits against the quantity of Streptococcus mutans in children with special needsABSTRACTChildren who suffer from mental retardation associated with muscle coordination resulted in delays on the development of movement (motoric), speech, and limitations adjust to the environment. The disorder is also added to the difficulties of children to be able to maintain healthy teeth and mouth independently and are less active mouth muscles to get a good natural cleansing. The process of chewing fibrous foods will stimulate and increase saliva production. The apple is a fibrousfruit which can be obtained on the market. And apple has the ability to self-cleansing effect. This study aims to determine the effect of chewing an apple to the quantity of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in children with special needsThis type of research is descriptive. The method used in this study is a quasi experimental and design studies carried out by one group pretest and posttest. In this study, a sample calculation of the number of bacteria before and after chewing apples in saliva using Total Plate Count. Samples were 15 students from elementary classes I-VI mild mental retardation in special schools amounted foundation Widya Bhakti Semarang.The results showed statisticfrom  paired t-test that there are effective chew of fibrousand juicy fruit on the quantity of bacteria Streptococcus mutans in a special needs child, and from the analysis of the data showed a significant difference with the t value of 3,778 df (degrees of freedom) and p value = 0.002 (p <0.05). Keywords : fruit fibrous watery, streptococcus mutans quantity

Abstract

TITLEThe etiology of rampant caries in pre-school children in TK Pertiwi Jembungan I BoyolaliABSTRACTBaby bottle caries is a dental disease that begins from a tooth and concerns the multi-surface and spreads rapidly to other teeth due to persistent exposure to factors of cause. This study aims to determine the factors that cause rampan caries in students TK Pertiwi Jembungan I Boyolali District.The type of this research is quantitative descriptive with case study research method. The data were collected by examination of caries trajectory, saliva pH and PHP-M index, and questionnaires for time and questionnaire variables based on Bloom's approach theory covering environmental factors, behavior, health service and heredity. Priority problem using odd ratio data analysis test result obtained that the most dominant cause factor is practice (OR value = 16,25), attitude (OR value = 15,00) and knowledge (OR value = 9,3).The results showed that salivary pH value of all respondents was acid (pH <7.0) and 57% of respondents had bad category plaque index value. Time factor showed 57% of respondents were bad category. 48% of respondents who have knowledge of bad category. 61% of respondents already have a good attitude. 100% of respondents did not brush their teeth before bedtime. 83% of respondents have a habit of brushing their teeth only when bathing. Health care factors, 100% of respondents have never treated dental cavities and have not received dental health education, 52% of respondents have fragile teeth and 26% of respondents have a dental structure of crowding. Abstract

TITLEExternal factors associated with causative of dental caries in pre-school children in PAUD Strowberry RW 03, Bangetayu Wetan, Semarang City in 2016ABSTRACTDental Caries is a disease that attacks the dental tissue by damaging the tissue starts from the tooth surface and spread to pulp. Some external factor provokes dental caries are the environment, behaviour, heath care and heredity. 71% preschoolers at PAUD Strowberry have dental karies. This research is to understand the factor that causes dental caries towards preschoolers at PAUD Strowberry.This research uses quantities descriptive with cross sectional to write the essay. Using totalsampling method for searching the sample includes the sum of the preschoolers at PAUD Strowberry that are infected by dental caries. There are 34 preschoolers that have dental caries. Using questionnaire method to the preschooler’s parents to gather the information for the research we need. The validation and the reliability of the information from the questionnaire has been testedby 20 of the preschooler’s parents at PAUD KasihIbu RW 02. The method to analysis the information using Odds ratio.The result showed the ignorance about dental caries is 76%, bad attitude while brushing teeth is 65%, bad action about causes dental caries is 76%, unhealthy environments for the family is 62%, the ignorance of health care about curing is 68%, and unhealthty heredity about dental caries is 65%. It can be concluded from this research is the knowledge of the disease it the main element that cause dental caries towards preschoolers at PAUD Strowberry. So, the parents should take care therekids teethby brushing their teeth twice a day. Key words : Dental Caries, External Factors, Children
