Abstract

ABSTRACT: Football is most popular sport in the world community. Football is also one form of pop culture itself, where football is no longer interpreted as a game or a way to exercise alone, but also become something that can be interpreted as a culture that bind various communities in the world. This research, by using the qualitative approach with case studies on conflict, will explore deeply about how social identity is present in football, especially in the context of football supporters in Indonesia as part of the development of the football industry in the world. This study has a focus on researching the phenomenon of cultural and local identity in the “Viking” of PERSIB (Bandung Indonesian Football Association) and “Jakmania” of PERSIJA (Jakarta Indonesian Football Association) supporter groups in football matches that are played in national competitions. The formation of identity transforming become an identity conflict in a crowd of football supporters to become the hallmark of football as part of the pop culture in Indonesia.KEY WORD: Pop Culture; Conflict; Identity; Crowds; Football in Indonesia. ABSTRAKSI: “Budaya Pop, Konflik Identitas, dan Kerusuhan: Studi tentang Budaya dan Identitas Suporter Viking dan Jakmania dalam Industri Sepakbola Indonesia”. Sepakbola merupakan olahraga yang sangat populer pada masyarakat dunia. Sepakbola adalah juga salah satu bentuk dari budaya pop itu sendiri, dimana sepakbola tidak lagi dimaknai sebagai sebauh permainan atau cara untuk berolahraga saja, melainkan menjadi sesuatu yang dapat dimaknai sebagai sebuah kebudayaan yang mengikat beragam masyarakat di dunia. Penelitian ini, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif tentang studi kasus konflik, akan mengkaji secara mendalam mengenai bagiamana pembentutakan identitas sosial hadir dalam sepakbola, terutama dalam konteks suporter sepakbola di Indonesia sebagai bagian dari perkembangan industri sepakbola di dunia. Penelitian ini memfokuskan kajian tentang fenomena identitas budaya dan lokalitas pada kelompok suporter “Viking” dari PERSIB (Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Bandung) dan “Jakmania” dari PERSIJA (Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jakarta) dalam pertandingan sepakbola yang berlangsung melalui kompetisi nasional. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Artikel ini, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode biografi, mengkaji tentang keberhasilan seorang Kepala Sekolah. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa Haji Ajat, atau nama lengkapnya Drs. H. (Doktorandus Haji) Ajat Sudrajat, M.M.Pd. (Magister Manajemen Pendidikan), adalah kisah sukses seorang Kepala Sekolah di Kabupaten Kuningan, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Lebih dari 20 tahun, Haji Ajat menjadi Kepala Sekolah di SMAN (Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri) yang berbeda-beda. Pada mulanya, Haji Ajat ditugaskan memimpin SMAN Ciniru, sekolah yang jaraknya jauh dari Kuningan Kota; kemudian beliau berpindah ke SMAN Mandirancan, sebuah sekolah di tengah sawah dan di daerah pinggiran; lalu beliau berpindah untuk memimpin SMAN Cilimus, sekolah yang dekat Kota Kuningan; dan beliau berpindah lagi ke SMAN Luragung, sekolah yang dekat dengan daerah Jawa Tengah. Terakhir, Haji Ajat memimpin SMAN III Kuningan, yang berada di tengah Kota Kuningan. Semua sekolah yang dipimpin oleh Haji Ajat selalu berprestasi dalam bidang akademik dan, terutama, sekolah yang ramah lingkungan. Kepala sekolah yang berkarakter dan sukses perlu menjadi teladan bagi siapa pun yang ingin memimpin lembaga pendidikan.KATA KUNCI: Kepala Sekolah; Sekolah Ramah Lingkungan; Sekolah Berkualitas. ABSTRACT: “Become a Character Teacher: Exemplify the Leadership of Drs. H. Ajat Sudrajat, M.M.Pd. in Building a Quality School”. This article, using a qualitative approach and biographical method, examines the success of a Principal. The results of the study show that Haji Ajat, or its full name is Drs. H. (Doktorandus Haji) Ajat Sudrajat, M.M.Pd. (Master of Education Management), is success story of a Principal in Kuningan District, West Java, Indonesia. More than 20 years, Haji Ajat has dedicated to be a Principal in a different SMANs (Public Senior High Schools). At first, Haji Ajat was assigned to lead the SMAN at Ciniru, a school that was far from Kuningan City; then he moved to SMAN at Mandirancan, a school in the middle of rice fields and on the outskirts; then he moved to lead the SMAN at Cilimus, a school near Kuningan City; and he moved again to SMAN at Luragung, a school near to Central Java area. Finally, Haji Ajat leads the SMAN III Kuningan, which is in the center of Kuningan City. All schools led by Haji Ajat always succeed in the academic field and, especially, schools that are environmental friendly. Abstract

ABSTRACT: “Maenpo” is one of the pillars of culture so as to be one of the elements forming the character society in Cianjur, West Java, besides “ngaos” and “mamaos”. “Maenpo” is one of a stream of traditional martial arts that prefer the flavor, rather than physical violence. The flavors here means toying his opponents with the power of its moves, so that the opponents became frustrated. In this article will explain how the process of “maenpo” development since the Netherlands colonial rule until the Republic of Indonesia. For answers to that question, in the article used the method of history that consists of four steps, namely: heuristics, critique, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study show that at the beginning of its development, “maenpo” grown in limited circumstances, namely the circle up (noblemen) of Sunda and Islamic boarding school. The “menak” (noblemen) of Cianjur mastered the “maenpo” not to be champions, but rather as one way of sharpening the ability it feels in understanding their relationship with God and his social environment. Also in the Islamic boarding schools’ environment, “maenpo”s training as a means of developing the control of lust. Nevertheless, the development of “maenpo” relatively faster in the Islamic boarding schools environment compared to among the “menak” of Sunda in West Java, Indonesia.KEY WORD: Maenpo; Cianjur Regency; Sundanese Noblemen; Islamic boarding school; Cultivate a Sense. ABSTRAKSI: “Keberadaan Penca di Antara Orang Sunda”. “Maenpo” merupakan salah satu pilar budaya sehingga menjadi salah satu unsur pembentuk karakter masyarakat di Cianjur, Jawa Barat, selain “ngaos” dan “mamaos”. “Maenpo” merupakan salah satu aliran seni bela diri tradisional yang lebih mengutamakan rasa, bukan kekerasan fisik. Rasa di sini berarti mempermainkan lawan dengan kekuatan jurus-jurusnya, sehingga lawan menjadi frustasi. Dalam artikel ini akan dijelaskan bagaimana proses perkembangan “maenpo” sejak masa penjajahan Belanda hingga masa Republik Indonesia. Untuk memperoleh jawaban atas pertanyaan, dalam artikel ini digunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu: heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Hasil kajian ini menujukan bahwa pada awal perkembangannya, “maenpo” tumbuh di lingkungan terbatas, yakni kalangan “menak” dan pesantren. Para “menak” Cianjur menguasai “maenpo” bukan untuk menjadi jawara, melainkan sebagai salah satu cara mengasah kemampuan rasa dalam memahami hubungan mereka dengan Tuhan dan lingkungan sosialnya. Juga di lingkungan pesantren, “maenpo” berkembang sebagai sarana pelatihan pengendalian hawa nafsu. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Artikel ini, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode historis, mengkaji tentang dinamika politik pada masa-masa awal Orde Baru (1966-1974) di Indonesia, dengan memfokuskan analisis mengenai pers dan kritik sosial. Studi difokuskan pada mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia” di Bandung, yang bersikap kritis terhadap masalah-masalah yang membelenggu pemerintah Orde Baru pada masa itu. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa fenomena KKN (Korupsi, Kolusi, dan Nepotisme) pada masa-masa awal pemerintah Orde Baru, seperti kedudukan SPRI (Staf Pribadi) Presiden; kasus BULOG (Badan Urusan Logistik); dan masalah pembangunan TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) di Jakarta, menjadi “news and views” (berita dan pandangan) yang kritis dari mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia”. Namun, berbagai reaksi tersebut tidak menggoyahkan kedudukan pemerintah Orde Baru dalam rangka membangun konsolidasi kekuasaan dan legitimasi pemerintahan. Bahkan pers yang kritis, termasuk mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia” di Bandung, akhirnya dibungkam oleh pemerintah Orde Baru, dan sepertinya rejim ini tidak akan tergoyahkan untuk masa 20 tahunan ke depan.KATA KUNCI: Pers dan Kritik Sosial; Pemerintah Orde Baru; Mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia”; Masalah Korupsi, Kolusi, dan Nepotisme. ABSTRACT: “Press and Social Criticism in the New Order Period: Case Study of Indonesian Student Weekly in Bandung, 1966-1974”. This article, using a qualitative approach and historical methods, examines the political dynamics in the early period of the New Order (1966-1974) in Indonesia, by focusing on analysis of the press and social criticism. The study focused on the weekly of "Indonesian Students" in Bandung, which were critical towards the problems that bound the New Order government at that time. The results of the study showed that the phenomena of KKN (Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism) in the early period of the New Order government, such as the position of the SPRI (Personal Staff) of the President; BULOG (Logistics Affairs Agency) case; and the problem of developing of TMII (Beautiful Indonesian Miniature Garden) in Jakarta, becoming a critical news and views from the weekly of "Indonesian Students". However, these various reactions did not destabilize the position of the New Order government in the context to build a consolidation of government power and legitimacy. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memahami definisi kepakaran dan hubung-kaitnya dengan sesuatu profesion dalam konteks bidang perubatan. Sebelum definisi kepakaran diperoleh, pemahaman yang jelas harus didapati mengenai definisi profesion; dan kajian ini akan meneliti beberapa kajian utama yang telah dilakukan untuk mengkaji persoalan berkenaan. Terdapat tiga pendekatan utama yang selalu diperkatakan untuk memahami maksud profesion, iaitu: pendekatan statik, pendekatan proses, dan pendekatan sosio-ekonomi. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yang mana sekumpulan 12 orang informan di temubual pada sekitar Ogos 2016; dan menggunakan penyelidik sebagai instrumen kajian, pelbagai aspek diteliti untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam bersabit definisi kepakaran daripada informan, yang mana informan itu sendiri merupakan pakar dalam bidang perubatan. Kajian mendapati terdapat beberapa perkara yang membawa maksud kepakaran dalam bidang perubatan, iaitu: pengiktirafan rasmi; pengkhususan; menamatkan keperluan dipantau oleh seorang doktor pakar; tahap kompetensi yang tinggi; mempunyai kemahiran di luar bidang perubatan, seperti kemahiran bersosial dan berkomunikasi; serta menerima pengiktirafan daripada badan pemantau.KATA KUNCI: Kepakaran; Pembelajaran; Pendidikan Profesional Lanjutan; Profesion. ABSTRACT: “The Definition of Expertise in a Profession of Medical Doctors in Malaysia”. The research strives to understand the definition of expertise and its relation with a professional field in the context of the medical profession. Before expertise can be defined and properly understood, the research goes through a literature review of the definition and criteria of a profession. There are three main approaches that can be used to view a profession, which are the static approach, the process approach, and the socio-economic approach. This research adopts a qualitative approach, in which a sample of 12 informans is interviewed in August 2016; and using the researcher as an instrumentl, various aspects is being enquired to obtain a thorough understanding of the meaning of expertise to the informans, who are themselves specialist medical professionals and are considered “expert” in the medical field. The outcome summarizes that official certification; specialization on a specific field; completion of a serious of expertise checklist, including a being under the supervision of a mentor; a high level of competency; possessing soft skills and capabilities outside of the medical profesion; and receiving official recognition from a monitoring body are key criterias that defines expertise in the medical profession. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Pers mahasiswa menjadi media alternatif pada masa pemerintahan Orde Baru (1966-1998). Pers mahasiswa mampu dan berani melakukan kritik terhadap pemerintah melalui tulisan dalam media yang diterbitkannya. Dengan menggunakan metode historis, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pers mahasiswa Indonesia, pada periode tahun 1990-an, mulai menunjukan kembali jatidiri dan perannya. “Isola Pos” di Bandung lebih menitikberatkan pemberitaan pada isu-isu besar pendidikan, hal ini karena pendidikan harus dikelola secara benar, jangan dipolitisir, dan harus sesuai dengan cita-cita para pendiri negara-bangsa. Sedangkan “Balairung” di Yogyakarta lebih dominan pada isu-isu politik, karena ianya merupakan langkah untuk melakukan perubahan dalam konteks sosial-politik sebuah negara-bangsa. Meskipun dari segmentasi berita yang diambil berbeda, namun ada benang merah di antara keduanya, yakni sama-sama memiliki tujuan untuk perubahan Indonesia ke arah yang lebih baik, serta melakukan perlawanan terhadap suatu rezim yang dianggap menyimpang dari kebijakan dan cita-cita bersama.KATA KUNCI: Pers Mahasiswa; Pendidikan; Politik; Pemerintah Orde Baru; Kritik Sosial. ABSTRACT: “Students’ Voice of Two Cities: Comparison on Views of Isola Pos in Bandung and Balairung in Yogyakarta toward Political Issues in Indonesia, 1991-1998”. The student’s press was an alternative media during the New Order government (1966-1998). The student’s press was capable and daring to criticize the government through the publication of articles in the media. By using the historical method, this study shows that student press in the period of 1990s, began showed again its identities and roles. The “Isola Pos” in Bandung was choosing more dominant on educational issues, due to that education must be managed properly, not be politicized, and must accordance with the ideals of nation-states’ founders. While “Balairung” in Yogyakarta was more dominant in political issues, due to it was as a step to make changes in the socio-political context. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The aims of this research are to encourage the students of class 2C1, Study Program of Informatic Technique at STMIK (Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer or College of Computer and Informatical Management) Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia engaged and assisted in learning English, especially for reading skill in the classroom. A CAR (Classroom Action Research) is the research design implemented to solve their reading problems encountered in classroom, such as the grammar, vocabulary, graphology, and the content. Action research is a teacher professional to the optimal achievement of the students to the lesson in teaching learning process in the classroom. And Jigsaw II is the technique applied in classroom activity, which students as the learning centered. Observation, tests, and documentary studys become the source of data collection technique used. The data collection obtained can be the qualitative and quantitative data of this study. This research found out that Jigsaw II technique applied is useful and effective not only for students’ achievement, but also for their involvement toward learning, especially teaching and learning reading skill to second semester students at the Sudy Program of Informatic Technique STMIK Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.KEY WORD: Jigsaw II Technique; Cooperative Learning; Reading; Classroom Action Research; Students’ Achievement. ABSTRAKSI: “Penggunaan Teknik Jigsaw II dalam Pengajaran Membaca pada Mahasiswa STMIK Pontianak”. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memotivasi mahasiswa kelas 2C1, Program Studi Teknik Informatika di STMIK (Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer) Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia terlibat dan terbantu dalam belajar bahasa Inggris, terutama untuk keterampilan membaca di dalam kelas. PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) adalah model penelitian yang diterapkan untuk menyelesaikan masalah membaca yang ditemukan di kelas, seperti tata bahasa, kosa kata, model penulisan, dan isi teks. Penelitian tindakan adalah keprofessionalan guru untuk mengoptimalkan pencapaian keterampilan membaca mahasiswa dalam materi pembahasan pada proses belajar-mengajar di kelas. Dan Jigsaw II adalah teknik yang diterapkan dalam aktivitas kelas, di mana mahasiswa sebagai pusat pembelajaran. Pengamatan, tes, dan studi dokumentasi adalah teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan. Data yang terkumpul bisa berupa kualitatif dan kuantitatif data dalam studi ini.
