The Influence of ANEKA-Based Character Integrated in Physics Course with E-learning Schoology

Abstract

The development of technology has brought enormous changes to the progress of education world. The form of the technology is E-Learning, with platform that can be used as an interactive learning media is Schoology, it‚??s expected that lecturers can actualize the basic values ANEKA (accountability, nationalism, public ethics, quality commitment, and anti corruption). The purpose to know the influence of characters education based on ANEKA in courses Technical Physics with e-learning Schoology. The research method is quantitative with quasi experiment, the population is Electrical Engineering students at UMK. Experimental variable is the treatment for experimental class (e-learning schoology), and control class (conventional), the dependent variable is ANEKA-based characters. The result of ANEKA-based characters obtained with increase before and after treatment. The characters value is highest in nationalism, and least of quality commitment. The analysis of experimental class increase of 4.59, and the control class of 2.68. Result of ANEKA-based characters from control and experimental class get significant 0.000 (<0,05) which means that the application of learning in the Physics courses by e-learning schoology can increase higher by 25% than the conventional learning by 16%.

Abstract

This research aims to explore information about the profile of the ability of logical thinking of high school students and its effect on student achievement on three levels of representation of chemical dynamics material. This research uses a non-experimental as research design in form of survey. This research involving 242 persons of 11 grade high school students at Ketapang Regency, West Borneo Province. Sampling is done by purposive sampling as a sampling method. There are two instruments in this research, first is Test of Logical Thinking and second is Test of three levels of representations that including 25 multiple choice tests which consist of three levels of representations such as macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels. The material raised in this test is chemical dynamics material, including the concepts of reaction rates and chemical equilibrium. The research results is based on the statistically tested findings using the Pearson correlation test, it was found that logical thinking ability had a significant effect on macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic with correlation coefficients of 0.352, 0.684, and 0.564, and significance values is less than 5% each of them.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Project based learning (PJBL) pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIPA 1 SMAN 9 Kota Tangerang Selatan tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 38. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu instrumen tes dan non tes. Instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 30 soal. Instrumen non tes berupa lembar observasi dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji N-Gain. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Project based learning (PJBL) adalah rata-rata pencapaian hasil belajar siswa pada setiap siklusnya yaitu 47,37% pada siklus I, dan 94,73% pada siklus II. Pada aktivitas belajar siswa menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Project based learning (PJBL) adalah rata-rata pencapaian aktivitas belajar siswa pada siklusnya adalah 72% pada siklus I, dan 78% pada siklus II. Hasil analisis N-Gain menunjukkan peningkatan N-Gain dari pretest ke posttest adalah rata-rata nilai N-Gain pada siklusnya adalah 0,32 pada siklus I dan 0,53 pada siklus II. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan model Project Based Learning (PJBL) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

The objective of the present research is to study students‚?? achievement in creative thinking ability and to determine the level of their ability in creative thinking in electrochemistry through open-ended problems model. The method used in this research is Descriptive Study. The sample of this research is 12th grade students majoring in Science of SMAN 3 South Tangerang which consist of 28 students. The sample taken are¬† students of 12th ¬†grade majoring in science from selected classes; they have higher scores in daily test compared to 4 other classes. This was simply for convenience of studying the learning process and the implementation of open-ended model problem in this study. The data of this research was acquired from observation sheet, test and interview. In this research the achievement of student‚??s creative thinking ability was focused on three aspects of creative thinking: fluency, flexibility and originality. The result showed that student‚??s achievement on fluency was good, flexibility was average and originality was average. Meanwhile, the open-ended test result showed that student‚??s achievement on fluency was good, flexibility was average and originality was also average. Level of student‚??s ability in creative thinking was categorized as very poor, poor and average. Number of students in each category was 10 students (35.71%) in very poor category, 17 students (60.71%) in poor category, and 1 student (3.57%) in average category.

Abstract

This study aims to see the role of teacher in science learning through Multiple Intelligences in Sekolah Peradaban Cilegon. This study describes the implementation of learning in Sekolah Peradaban Cilegon from the planning of learning, the implementation of learning and the assessment of learning. The method in this research is quantitative descriptive method. The research was carried out in Sekolah Peradaban Cilegon, with the subject of research is the 4th grade student and the amount are 14 students. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet. The results of the study showed that the implementation of learning planning showed an average score of 4.66 or 93.33% which was in very suitable criteria, the implementation of learning showed an average score of 4.76 or 95.29% which was in very suitable criteria, and for the assesment of learning showed average scores of 4.5 or 90% is very suitable criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of teacher in science learning through Multiple Intelligences in Sekolah Peradaban Cilegon is in accordance with the criteria for learning that encourages Multiple Intelligences in Sekolah Peradaban Cilegon

Abstract

This study aims to develop of multimedia based on science literacy on the lightning themes and apply it on the science learning to improve of students scientific literacy. The method used in this research is Research and Development with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) models. The research design at the multimedia implementation as small scale on the science learning by using one-group pretest-posttest design. Implementation was carried out in class IX with 31 students with cluster random sampling. The result of research showed: (1) multimedia based on science literacy on lightning themes in the form of text, images, animation, and videos that refer to the 2015 PISA framework are content, science competencies and science attitudes domains; (2) the feasibility test by the expert and teacher show all aspects of multimedia have a very good category, it is suitable for use in science learning; and (3) the using of multimedia can increase science literacy skills especially content and scientific attitude domains have medium category. As well as competency domains show is very good categories. This is supported by respon of student that multimedia is very good in the domain aspects of literacy and motivation, whereas in aspect of operating multimedia have good categories.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using smart phone learning on science knowledge conceptual and independence of students‚?? learning in junior high school. The design of quadratic control groups is used on this research with all seventh grade students at Serang-Banten City Junior High School as the population. The random technique samples are VII A grade as an experimental class and VII B grade as the control class, so it can be measured the conceptual science knowledge and scaling the independence of students‚?? learning by questionnaire. Independent sample T Test survey result shows using the smart phone has an impact to science knowledge with a significance value of 0.002 and an independence of student‚??s learning with a significance value of 0.003.

Abstract

This research aims to find the effectiveness of Android-assisted optical devices learning to improve students‚?? conceptual understanding. This research was a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design. This research involved 60 second year high school students in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. The instrument for the data collection was comprehension questions about conceptual understanding on optical devices tested through pretest and posttest. The conceptual understanding data was analyzed using anava mix design. The result shows that learning optical devices using an android application is more effective in improving students‚?? conceptual understanding compared to conventional learning which is not using an android application

Abstract

This research is aims to develop the local excellences-based teaching materials of South Sumatera for science learning in elementary school. This teaching materials are designed and manufactured with local pre-eminent items in South Sumatra and adapted to the subject matter taught in science learning in elementary school. This research is a development research using ADDIE development model and Tessmer evaluation method. The development stages in this research include analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Evaluation of prototypes is conducted by: self evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test evaluation. Prototypes are validated by experts in materials, constructs, language, and media. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation sheets, test results and product assessment sheets. The result of the research shows that the teaching materials based on local excellences of South Sumatera are valid and after being tested in one to one, small group evaluation, field test evaluation of this teaching materials are considered practical. In conclusion, the teaching materials based on local excellences of South Sumatra are feasible to be used for science learning in elementary school.

Abstract

AbstractThe low logical thinking ability of students causes them to experience difficulties in making the genetic concepts reasoning. Virtual class based on scaffolding learning in genetics course, applied outside formal lecture hours, is expected to improve students logical thinking ability. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of virtual class based scaffolding on students logical thinking ability. Quasi experiment was used in this study. The population was the 4th semester student of Biology education FKIP Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Teaching Year 2016/2017, taking the Genetics course. Samples were taken randomly. The students logical thinking ability measured by using the problem of logical thinking ability (TOLT). The students pretest logical thinking ability in the experimental and control classes shows the same average value of 2.64 included in the transition category, whereas postes results show different values. The experimental class indicated an average grade of 6.41 and a control class of 4.13, although the average difference between the two groups is significantly different, but both still show the same category of initial formal. Based on Mann-Whitney statistical test results, there was a difference of logical thinking ability between the two treatment classes. This can be interpreted that learning by using virtual class based on scaffolding is effective in improving students  logical thinking ability.Key word: Virtual class, Scaffolding, logical thinking Abstrak Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir logis mahasiswa menyebabkan mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam penalaran konsep-konsep genetika.  Pembelajaran virtual class berbasis scaffolding pada mata kuliah genetika, yang diterapkan diluar jam perkuliahan formal diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas virtual class berbasis scaffolding terhadap kemampuan berpikir logis mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester 4 jurusan pendidikan Biologi, FKIP, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017, yang mengambil matakuliah Genetika. Sampel diambil secara acak. Pengukuran kemampuan berpikir logis, dilakukan dengan menggunakan soal tes kemampuan berpikir logis (TOLT).  Kemampuan awal berpikir logis mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang sama yaitu 2,64 termasuk dalam kategori transisi, sedangkan hasil postes menunjukkan nilai yang berbeda. Kelas eksperimen menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 6,41 dan kelas kontrol 4,13, walaupun perbedaan rata-rata kedua kelompok berbeda signifikan, akan tetapi keduanya masih menunjukkan kategori yang sama yaitu formal awal. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik Mann-Whitney,  terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir logis antara kedua kelas perlakuan. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan virtual class berbasis scaffolding efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis mahasiswa. Kata Kunci: Virtual class, Scaffolding, Berpikir logis
