Abstract

The research and development of worksheet based on multiple intelligences aims to develop and describe the effectiveness of worksheet based on Multiple Intelligences to optimizing the ability of creative thinking students. The type of research used is research and development that refers to the theory of Borg & Gall. The population of this research is the students of 5th grade of Primary School in Metro East. The sample of the study was 33 students of 5th grade in Islamic Primary School of Wahdatul Ummah Metro. Data were collected used questionnaires and test questions. The results showed that worksheet based on Multiple Intelligences effectively optimize the creative thinking students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students critical thinking skills before and after the learning process. Analysis of critical thinking skills in this study based on components of critical thinking evaluation, inferences, explanations, and self-regulation. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subject consisted of 2 students with low critical thinking abilities based on task 1 given at the beginning of learning, besides that good communication was also one of the subject selection criteria. The results of the analysis showed that both research subjects SS and FT experienced an increase in their critical thinking abilities, this was evident from each indicator critical thinking evaluation, inferences, explanation, and self-regulation. In each indicator of critical thinking, the research subject is able to demonstrate the ability to do evaluation, inferences, explanation, and self-regulation, this is certainly very different from the initial conditions of research subjects where they have not been able to do evaluations, inferences, explanation well. One of the things that allows an increase in critical thinking skills is the subject of teaching and learning activities, namely by giving task that require students to practice their critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is very important in learning math and everyday life. According to Krulik & Rudnick there are 5 stages of problem solving that is Read, Explore, Select A Strategy, Solve And Look Back. Mathematical problems require multiple representational skills to communicate problems, one of which is visual representation. Trigonometry is one of the materials that uses visual representation. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the ability of problem solving mathematics with Krulik & Rudnick stages in terms of visual representation. The study was conducted in MAN 2 Brebes. Determination of Subjects in this study using Purposive Sampling. Research instruments used to obtain the required data are visual representation and problem-solving tests, and interview guidelines. The data obtained were analyzed based on the Krulik & Rudnick problem solving indicator. Subjects in this study were subjects with moderate visual representation. Based on the results, problem solving ability of the subject is not fully fulfilled. Subjects with visual representations are able to do problem solving well that is solving the problem through a concept that is understood without visualization of the image. Subjects with visual representations are having a schematic visual representation type.

Abstract

Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh fakta bahwa representasi matematis merupakan kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap siswa, serta representasi merupakan salah satu komponen penting dan fundamental untuk mengembangkan kemampuan matemats siswa secara umum. Untuk meningkatkan seluruh kemampuan matematis siswa yaitu melalui aktifitas pembelajaran yang hendaknya berpusat pada siswa. Sesuai dengan masalah yang dikemukakan, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan dan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa terhadap model pembelajaran CTL dan PBL. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian dipilih dua kelas dari kelas XI MIPA SMAN 17 Garut tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Kelas eksperimen I yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran CTL sebanyak 20 siswa, dan kelas eksperimen II yaitu kelas XI MIPA 3 yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran PBL sebanyak 20 siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran PBL. Sementara itu, untuk peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning berinterpretasi tinggi dan Problem Based Learning berinterpretasi sedang. Serta secara umum sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning dan Problem Based Learning masing-masing berinterpretasi baik.

Abstract

3D-Shapes Geometry is one of the subjects material that must be taught to students in Mathematics Education Program, which later after graduation will become a math teacher. Learning 3D-Shapes Geometry has relevance to the mathematics critical thinking ability. Students who have the ability to think critically can think rationally by collecting information as completely as possible. Learning that can stimulate the ability of critical thinking should be learning in which there are activities that are student-centered learning. One of the lessons in 3D-Shapes Geometry that can be used is learning using Geogebra Software . Learning 3D-Shapes Geometry using GeoGebra aided is very possible to make students practice independently spatial capabilities that will foster self regulated learning. The existence of self-regulated learning in the students learning will make the students able to interpret, analyze, evaluate, and infer in learning. These capabilities will form the mathematics critical thinking ability. The purpose of this research is to determine whether or not there is a relationship between self regulated learning and mathematics critical thinking ability and to find out coefficient of correlation of them. This research is a quantitative research. Before the research begins, the researchers took the value of the task as the preliminary data and it is tested normality. Data collection techniques in this research is the scale of self regulated learning and tests in the form of mathematics critical thinking ability. The scale of self regulated learning and mathematics critical thinking ability tests are validated first. Data test of mathematics critical thinking ability of is tested normality, then data of scale self regulated learning and test of mathematics critical thinking ability are tested regression. The result of this research is there is influence of self regulated learning to the mathematics critical thinking ability of 45 , 7 %.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the principles and concepts of ethnomathematics in traditional games in elementary level of mathematics learning and to know the utilization of traditional games in students‚?? social interaction. Ethnomathematics is a mathematical practice in a cultural group. Mathematics as one of the subjects taught in elementary school to gain numeracy skills. In mathematics learning, informal knowledge of mathematics is developed into a mathematical concept through social interaction. Teachers and parents reintroduce traditional games to students in math learning activities in primary schools. this method aims to attract students to learn math by considering the material to be delivered and local culture. The form of social interaction of students in traditional games in learning mathematics is that students can become peer tutors of every game played along with mathematical concepts. The communication formed in the traditional game is one of the natural characteristics that occur, thus the traditional game can be used in the learning of mathematics as a form of social interaction between students based on the local culture.

Abstract

Abstrak‚??Kemampuan berpikir relasional merupakan bagian yang penting dari pembelajaran matematika sekolah. Pada materi persamaan aljabar, siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah tersebut karena kurangnya pemahaman simbol relasi ekuivalensi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemecahan masalah selama ini hanya menuntut siswa mengaplikasikan algoritma untuk mendapatkan jawaban akhir, tidak mendukung siswa untuk berpikir dan menemukan sendiri konsep relasi ekuivalensi. Oleh karena itu dikembangkan suatu media pembelajaran aljabar yang merangsang kemampuan berpikir relasional siswa SMP dengan harapan akan mendukung kemampuan pemecahan masalah aljabar siswa SMP. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis ada tidaknya peningkatan pemecahan masalah aljabar siswa SMP setelah menggunakan modul aljabar berbasis berpikir relasional.¬† Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif ¬†yang menggunakan uji-t dua sampel berpasangan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes tulis relasi. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VII sebanyak 30 siswa. Data dianalisis dengan bantuan Program SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah aljabar setelah penggunaan modul aljabar berbasis berpikir relasional dengan sig = 0,00 < 5% dengan t hitung = -6,43 > -t0,05. Jadi penggunaan modul dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah aljabar siswa SMP.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskripsikan proses berpikir probabilistik mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika IKIP PGRI Pontianak ditinjau dari gender. Teknik pengambil sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika kelas C Sore semester V IKIP PGRI Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, pengukuran, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah tes, pedoman wawancara, dan dokumen. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan berpikir probabilistik mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan masuk dalam level 4 pada soal ruang sampel; terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir probabilistik antara perempuan dan laki-laki pada kejadian dan probabilitas yaitu mahasiswa laki-laki masuk dalam level 3 sudah dapat menkonstruksikan anggota suatu kejadian dengan mengikuti pola tertentu tetapi lupa dalam menuliskan rumus untuk menghitung nilai probabilitasnya, sedangkan mahasiswa perempuan masuk dalam level 1 dalam mengkontruksikan anggota suatu kejadian dengan tidak mengikuti pola tertentu. Kemampuan berpikir probabilistik soal variabel random dan probabilitas masuk dalam level 2 yaitu mahasiswa menuliskan notasi dalam menentukan probabilitasnya tetapi dalam menentukan semua nilai yang mungkin untuk suatu probabilitas dengan tidak lengkap.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Project-Based Blended Learning (PjB2L) model to support student creativity in designing mathematics learning in elementary school. The method used in this research was R&D with ASSURE development model consisting of six stages: 1) analyze learners, 2) state objectives, 3) select method, media, and materials, 4) utilize media and materials, 5) require learner participation, 6) evaluated and revise. Product validation was done through an expert‚??s assessment by using the expert‚??s validation sheet. The practicality of the product is tested with limited trials with college lecturers and some students with questionnaires and interviews. Product effectiveness was seen by implementing limited development testing to a particular class with a one group pretest-posttest design and the result was analyzed by using a Paired-Samples T-Test. The result of this research is a Project-Based Blended Learning (PjB2L) model to support students creativity in designing mathematics learning plan in elementary school. Validity of the learning model was proven by the result of the expert assessment in learning (face-to-face and on-line), material and instructional media. Effectiveness of the learning model was also proven on the basis of Paired-Samples T-Test of students‚?? pretest and posttest.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students mathematical problem-solving abilities in solving the problem of build space and knowing students opinions on mathematics. The study was conducted on grade VII students at one of SMPN in Cimahi. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. Instruments have been validated and consist of problem-solving test, interview guides, and questionnaires. The test that students do is given a score and an analysis of error answers. Questionnaires are used to obtain information about students opinions in solving problems. The results showed that as many as 5 students made comprehensions error, as many as 13 students made transformation error, as many as 29 students made process skill error, and as many as 33 students made encoding error, so it can be concluded that the problem-solving ability of students in one of SMPN in Cimahi is still low so it is necessary to do improvement effort. However, students have a positive opinion on mathematics with an average of 69.41%.
