Abstract

Shrimp is very promising commodity of the Indonesian export commodities. One of shrimp cultivation fields is pond which is a place of aquaculture located near the beach. Application of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic cell technology has been prepared to provide energy supply integratedly in the shrimp ponds in Pinrang District of South Sulawesi. Energy needed in the shrimp ponds is to provide energy supply for some supporting equipments such as aerator water mill, lighting, water pump, and others. Community empowerment activity was carried out in order to empower communities in Pinrang District of South Sulawesi in application of renewable energy resources in their shrimp ponds. This activity was arranged in self supporting energy concept in the shrimp pond and supported by a program of Kuliah Kerja Nyata–Program Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN-PPM) DIKTI. Equipment manufacture of photovoltaic cell prototype as energy sources of aerator waterwheel and lighting in the shrimp pond has been completed. Some community groups of shrimp farmers have been trained in the manufacture and operation of the photovoltaic cell equipment.

Abstract

Waste processing of mussel’s shell into flour and extract the calcium content has been done as community service activities. Mussel’s shell flour that added into breakfast product was enrichment by calcium. The products are flakes and cereal drinks. Skill of making cereal flakes and beverages was expected can empower the majority of women who have limited time in the development of healthy families so that they can provide food that is practically nutrients and mineral content enough. It is an opportunity to improve the economic welfare of society, especially poor families to get family extra income. Target of community service were women who are members of the Integrated Improvement Program Role of Women Towards Healthy and Prosperous Families (P2WKSS) in Tegalega, Bogor City and women of PKK Kemang’s Village, Bogor District. The activity were implemented in three stages, the first is the socialization of understanding of the fulfilment source of calcium and utilization of waste mussel’s shell. The second is the manufacturing skills training cereal flakes and drinks made from mussel’s flour as well as a way of packaging and labelling flakes. The third is evaluation through competition of participants to make some variants cereal flakes and beverage packaging. The results of activities demonstrated an understanding the use of flour calcium enrichment by shells in breakfast and drink products of flakes cereal. The results of training activities were evaluated through competitions showed the PKK member was able to either create a flakes product and cereal drink with different variations. The package was quite good so that flakes of such products worthy for sale.

Abstract

Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) have been processed into several foods and beverages, such as instant beverage, ginger candy, ginger pickle, ginger coffee, etc. This study aimed to study the optimum formulation of red ginger instant drinks and the most effective comparison of solubility with water, implement food security at household industry, and examine the financial aspects in the industrial of red ginger instant drinks at Benteng Village, Ciampea, Bogor. On determining the best formula, tested on 3 formula: formula with ratio sugar and red ginger 1:2 (A), 1:1 (B), and 1:3 (C). The yield of each formula was different which 66.33% ( formula A), 42.67% (formula B), and 69.33% (formula C). The best formula chosen is C because the materials used for the manufacture of the most economical and fast rehydration time. After following several processed of certification, the household industry of Jahe Gunung Leutik got the PIRT number as follow 61232010110099. Feasibility analysis also showed that the domestic industry was declared worthy of financial side. Based on the result of cost calculation of production of instant drink obtained that Rp 4.735.71. The result of instant drinks red ginger feasibility are NPV = Rp 917.725.03, gross B/C = 1.8244, net B/C = 3.8910, and IRR= 53%.

Abstract

The community service activities to develop practical skill of teenager on seedling production of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) through counseling and training at Situ Ilir Village. This training was begin with counseling followed by training for seedling production of pure culture (F0), spread seeds (F1), and planting seeds (F2). The quality of this training was assured by comprehensive monitoring and evaluation. In each step of seedling production, variations of sterilization medium were used and was then analyzed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. The characterization results using FTIR shows stretching vibration in mycelium for pure culture and planting seeds. The stretching vibration identify the presence of several functional of groups C-O, C-N, C=O, C-H, O-H, and β-D-glucan. The results of this training also shows that after several practice and intensive guidance the teenager were able to produce seeds of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) without supervision.

Abstract

The action research purposes are: 1) Studying the characteristics of entrepreneurs and business community members of the social entrepreneurial incubator; 2) Review the business partnership and business community through social business incubator; and 3) Increase the motivation for the business and the business community. This research approach is action research. This study uses a descriptive analysis of the target group and the entrepreneurs and business people in the Situ Udik and Cimanggu I Village Cibungbulang Subdistrict, Bogor District. Based on the results of the study showed that: 1) The characteristics of the micro small businessman at Posdaya dominated the productive age with a high school graduate, pick the dependents of 3-4 people; 2) Partnerships undertaken by Posdaya among others, the regional government through BKP5K Bogor, MT Farm, Dompet Dhuafa Livestock, P2MKP KKP, Koperasi Posdaya Indonesia (KPI), IPB, and BRI; and 3) Training and mentoring for small micro business focused on financial management training for families and businesses, packaging design training, mentoring, and technical assistance.

Abstract

Situ Ilir Village located in Cibungbulang Subdistrict, Bogor District, West Java, which has the potential for substantial human resources for the more advanced, unfortunately majority of peoples livelihood as traditional farmers. One of the potential contained in this village is oyster mushroom farm. The results of guidance and cooperation of the students of physics IPB like oyster mushroom production training has been carried out in this village, however the marketing less than the maximum. For example many young mushroom or fungus inadvertently severed by farmers to be not worth selling and discarded. By looking at this potential, then came the idea to create a health drink of the oyster mushroom. The aim of this community service are able to give the value of the oyster mushroom selling agricultural products, to increase public knowledge about the benefits of oyster mushrooms, and maximize human resources at Situ Ilir Village. The method used in this training are extension of oyster mushrooms, manufacture of health drinks, and β-glucan analysis using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). This activity resulted in products processed from oyster mushroom as a health drink rich in β-glucan shown from the results of FTIR analysis, that can increase the sale value of the oyster mushroom and enhance the creativity of the human resources in the Situ Ilir Village, Cibungbulang Subdistrict, Bogor District, West Java.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to develop tourism village Jatimalang to improve community empowerment in the management of tourism potential. Community service activities through the Field Work Experience Learning Community Empowerment (KKN PPM) develop coastal resorts Jatimalang become an attractive tourist destination area and able to empower the local community-based development of creative economy. KKN PPM using the method of Education for Sustainable Development (EfSD) is one method of community service oriented problem solving in the community. EfSD method emphasizes the three pillars, namely economic, ecological or environmental, and social. Program development activities carried out in outline included the development of tourist attractions, accessibility, amenitas, and tourism activities.

Abstract

Tourism potential in South Bogor spreads in several villages, including the Pamoyanan, Empang, and Cikaret Village. Kompepar is driving tourism groups that take part in the management of tourism in South Bogor. The tourism in the area has not been fully managed due to the ability of tourism management still minimal. Therefore it is necessary to empowering Kompepar through training identification of potential tourism travel, tour packaging, and making proposals for procurement activities/tour supporting infrastructure. Models of activities carried out by training, mentoring, and on going monitoring, through tutorials, discussion, lab (field surveys and interviews) as well as presentations. The training divided in to three steps, with the strategy implemented in door training (in class) and mobile partners to target areas. The results show the training participants are able to make an identification of potential training products such as travel, tour packages, and a simple proposal. The quality of training results have not shown good results. This constrained the ability of the participants were minimal basis for knowledge about and some of the participants have not mastered basic computer. Therefore the process of assisting and monitoring is done continuously and in parallel, for each group is accompanied by one or two instructors. Empowerment followed by media online optimization via engagement KIM South Bogor, by way of training and mentoring to load the identification of potential sites and travel packages to www.wisatabogorselatan.com. Empowerment comes with mentoring and facilitating Kompepar in propose the proposals to the relevant stakeholders.

Abstract

Mangrove is a plant community or an individual plant species that make up the community in tidal areas. Mangrove is a natural resource that can be recovered (renewable resources or flow resources) that have dual benefits (economic and ecological benefits). Mangrove have many benefits, as a producer of oxygen, timber, medicines, material feeding, breeding ground flora and fauna, and can be used as natural tourist spot. Sidogemah Village bordering the Pantura path, that the path of the most congested land transportation on the Java Island. The problems encountered are mangrove communities are still small, thus causing frequent occurrence of rising sea levels and damage to road construction as well as the loss of some villages. The method used by the team include counseling and education devotion to plant mangroves, mangrove process into more valuable ingredients corresponding benefit to be achieved, training and socialization, mentoring, and evaluation. All of these activities assisted by students and village officials. The results achieved in the implementation of this society devotion is the formation of public interest to open a food business in the form of chips of mangrove, which will open up the opportunity to plant more mangrove.

Abstract

The objectives of KKN-PPM activity are: 1) The method of utilizing the wastes of agriculture and stock husbandry as the media source of production oriented at the quality of outcome and the preservation of environment; and 2) The formation of sustainable integrated farming centers. The methods of activity applied are participation and action that involve the groups of target society and students who act as the facilitators. This activity was followed by 28 students partnering with Cimpago Putih farmer group. The results achieved on this activity are that the target groups have understood the method of utilizing the wastes of agriculture and stock husbandry, and together with the students made the demonstration plot of integrated farming system. The results achieved on each demonstration plot are: 1) The demonstration plot of mina paddy namely the growths of paddy and fish that look good; 2) The demonstration plot of combining fishery and stock husbandry, namely to decrease the contamination of environment by chicken manure; 3) The demonstration plot of biogas made of cow dung, namely gas (formed after 20 days from the first refill) and liquid compost (the sludge of biogas by-product) with the particle composition of nitrogen (2.59%), phosphor (0.022%), and kalium (4.01%); 4) The demonstration plot of compost from the waste of agriculture namely solid compost (straw and kirinyuh) with the particle composition of nitrogen, phosphor, and kalium are 2.14, 0.407, and 1.79%; and 5) the demonstration plot of cultivation and processing of forage namely the better growth of elephant grass with the ratio of alive and dead elephant of 30:1 and the paddy straw of ammoniation (the smell of ammonia, the color of brown green, and none fungus).
