Abstract

The low comprehension of elementary school students in integer material and the low motivation of students to learn mathematics is the background of this research. One alternative solution to the problem is to apply contextual approach with REACT strategy on learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference between the effect of contextual approach with REACT strategy compared with conventional learning on mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation of elementary school students on the matter of addition and reduction of integers. This research is a quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that both of it were able to improve the mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation of elementary school students, but contextual approach with REACT strategy was better and there is a positive correlation between learning motivation and mathematical understanding ability of students in the experimental class. Thus, it can be concluded that the contextual approach-player Chinese REACT effectively in improving the students’ mathematical understanding ability and learning motivation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to increasing the students’ motivation and study result IPS in material kenampkan alam dan kenampakan alam negara-negara tetangga fourth grade of elementary school. This research used classroom action research method. The action was doing 2 times on two cycles. Every cycle consist at 3 meeting in class. This cycle consist at 4 steps such as planning, action, monitoring and reflection. The data were collecting in four months, starting from September until December 2016. The subject of this research is seventeen students at fourth grade of SDN 2 Tutup Blora.  This class consist at 4 male and 13 female students. The conclusion of this research reported that Group Investigation teaching model could increased the students’ motivation and study result in fourth grade of SDN 2 Tutup Blora.

Abstract

Low mathematics learning outcomes and student activeness due to lack of effective learning model in optimizing students’ ability and motivation. The formulation of this research problem is whether the learning model Number Head Together (NHT) with the help of effective discovery method to the result of student learning class III. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the model with the help of the method of discovery of learning mathematics class III SDN Mewek. Pre-experimental method used in this research, which tests, documentation study, and observation sheet as its instruments. Based on the results of the final analysis that has been done visible from the percentage of mastery learning aiswa show learning without using learning model NHT as 5 students who completed with 25% percent and 15 students have not completed with the percentage 75%. Whereas after being given (posttest) treatment using NHT learning model and pizza media fractions that complete 16 students with percentage 80% and 4 students have not completed with percentage 20%. It is reinforced by t-test, that students’ achievement has been increased significantly by NHT model.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of serious problems in the aspect of essay writing skill. The purpose of this study is to know the improvment of student activity and student learning outcomes of writing essay skill material at 5th grade students of SDN Panyingkiran III Kabupaten Sumedang second semester in academic year 2015/2016, using complete sentenselearning.The research method used is classroom action research. Data collected through observation and tests. The result of this study for student activity, on first cycle 48% of students got very good criteria, second cycle 80% and third cycle 96%. For student learning outcomes, on first cycle just 40% students who pass the evaluation, second cycle 72% and third cycle 92%. Therefore, the process and learning outcomes got increased by using complete sentense on writing essay skill based experience.

Abstract

The reading program is another name for reading literature used by SDN Bugangan 02Semarang. Implementation of the program likes to read that is 15 minutes before the learning activities of students reading books with the title as he wishes. In this study students are given a book entitled "a collection of children's stories about the habit of eating healthy food". This short story contains six titles of children with a theme of healthy food. This theme is in accordance with the 9th grade theme teacher's book. This study aims to determine the effect of reading programs on the ability to make students. This research uses Pre-Experiment Designs with quantitative approach. The sample of this research is all students of grade IV SDN Bugangan 02 Semarang. The results of this study indicate that reading programs affect students' writing ability.

Abstract

The background that encourages this research is comprehending the concept of fifth grade students in science subject very low. The objective to be achieved in this research is to know the differences in the ability of comprehending the concept of science in the fifth grade students of SDN 05 Telukwetan Jepara between learning using POE and learning model using conventional method. This research is an experimental research belongs to quantitative method. This research used True Experimental design. The type of the design is taken Posttest-Only Control Design. Based on the results of the research data analysis capabilities using the concept comprehension test two parties, obtained by tcount = 3.5259, and t_table = 2.0154 with a significance level of 5% by dk = n1 + n2 - 2 = 23 +23 - 2 = 44. Based on the results of the analysis, obtained tcount> ttable is 3.5259> 2.0154 then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. Thus, we can conclude that there are differences in the ability of science to the students' comprehending the concept of learning used POE and learning model using conventional method.

Abstract

The learning method has been focused on student cognitive. In the mean time, student should accept comprehensively. This research is aim to develop learning kits of natural science that taxonomy for science education oriented in elementary school. The kits consist of domain I (imagine and understanding), domain II (science process skills), domain III (imagine and creativity), domain IV (attitude and value), and domain V (conection and applying). This is a research and development method, with subjects were both of fourth grade elementary school students of SD negeri 20 Mambok and SD Negeri 5 Sintang. The results of evaluation of learning science experts to examine the validity of the learning kits stated valid. Then, the trial results showed that the learning kits was developed to meet the criteria of effective to use in elementary school. It concludes that the learning kits of natural science that taxonomy for science education oriented is able to applied in elementary school.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on observations and interviews with class V teachers that students still have difficulty in understanding the letter of Java. Actions that have been done by teachers to overcome these problems have not been maximized, due to the limitations of tools and media. The type of this research is research and development with the developed product that is MONORAJA media (Monopoli Aksara Jawa) on Javanese language subject matter Java letter for elementary school student. The media were tested in 3 primary schools namely SDN Sadeng 01 Gunungpati, SDN 1 Lamuk Purbalingga, and SDN 2 Sinduraja Purbalingga. The results obtained from the validation of material experts, media experts, teacher practitioner questionnaire, and student assessment questionnaire. The result of validation by the first material expert is 97.71%, the second material expert is 98.5%, the validation by the media expert is 95%, the practitioner is 98%, and the student's appraisal is 96.36% This shows that MONORAJA media has been successful in development.
