Abstract

Most children with autism have difficulty with their communication skill. One of the specific problems is about to combine words into structured sentences when they tried to speak. The purpose of this research was to examine the efficacy of PECS in improving structured language skills to children with autism. Participants of this research consisted of two children who have been diagnosed with autism. The dependent variable of this study was structured language skill in speaking and the independent variable of the study was The PECS Program which had been modified in some phases. The method that was used in this study is single-case research with A-B-A design. Behavior checklist was used as the instrument for this research, also data of this research were analyzed by visual inspection. The result of the visual inspection analysis showed that there were some improvements in grammatical language skills of the participants throughout the PECS program.

Abstract

Currently, primary prevention efforts for child sexual abuse (CSA) are mostly done as a general education program for children at school. The program is criticized for placing the responsibility of child protection solely on the children and rarely involves family, community, and children’s surrounding neighborhood. This study aimed to examine CSA psychoeducational prevention toward kindergarteners parents’ knowledge after intervention in the form of psychoeducational leaflets and booklets. The study was a quasi-experimental study with the one-group pretest-posttest design. Twenty-six parents of kindergarteners participated in the study. Instruments used for the study was the CSA knowledge test. Quantitative analysis was used to describe the difference between kindergarteners parents’ knowledge before and after the program (p=0.006, p<0.05). Psychoeducation with booklet and leaflet was able to improve kindergarteners parents’ knowledge on CSA prevention.

Abstract

Social discrepancy can occurs in some favourite junior high schools. Based on the preliminary study in 2013, it caused the students with low socio-economic status to have a negative view of themselves and the environment, feel depresed, feel unconfident, and inhibit the self optimization. One of the factors that support the self growth and resiliency in adolescent is the self esteem that can be developed by resilience skills development program. This study was aimed to examine the effectiveness of the program in enhancing the self-esteem among adolescent with low socio economic status. It used quasi-experimental design. The subjects were the students of SMPN X and Y in Yogyakarta, that are labelled as favourite junior high schools. The data was analized using Mann-Whitney U Test to test the program effectiveness. The result shows that the program can enhance the self esteem significantly among adolescent with low socio-economic status.Keywords: resiliency, self-esteem, low socio-economic statusKesenjangan sosial yang terjadi di beberapa SMP Negeri “Unggulan” Yogyakarta, khususnya di SMP N X dan Y, memungkinkan para siswa berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah untuk memiliki pandangan negatif terhadap diri sendiri dan lingkungan, merasa tertekan, tidak percaya diri, dan kurang mampu mengoptimalkan potensi diri (pre-elimenary study 2013). Dalam hal ini, self-esteem pada remaja merupakan faktor pendukung yang penting bagi pertumbuhan dan kemampuannya untuk menghadapi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami. Self-esteem dikembangkan melalui pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi bagi remaja dalam kondisi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan self-esteem remaja berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah melalui program pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi. Metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan analisis data berupa Mann-Whitney U Test digunakan untuk mengukur peningkatan self-esteem remaja sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Program pengembangan keterampilan resiliensi terbukti meningkatkan self-esteem secara signifikan pada remaja berstatus sosial-ekonomi rendah.Kata kunci: resiliensi, self-esteem, status sosial-ekonomi rendah

Abstract

Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) is a family therapy that usually use for children with problem behavior. Purpose of BSFT is helping the family to change the maladaptive pattern, such as: lack of communication between parents and children so the behaviors problem can be decreased and dissapear. BSFT is implemented to a family with children that showing symptoms of Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). BSFT was performed in 2 month and able to change maladaptive pattern of communication in the family so the children’s behavior problem decreased. Follow up after 8 month shows that there were less fighting in the family and improvement of communication between parents and their children.Keywords:     Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), communication pattern, children’s behavior problemBrief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) adalah terapi keluarga yang biasa dipakai untuk menghadapi anak dengan permasalahan perilaku. Tujuan BSFT adalah untuk membantu keluarga mengubah pola interaksi yang maladaptif, salah satunya adalah kurangnya komunikasi antara orangtua–anak sehingga permasalahan perilaku yang ditunjukkan oleh anak dapat menurun kemudian menghilang. BSFT diterapkan pada sebuah keluarga dengan anak yang menunjukkan simptom Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). BSFT dilakukan selama dua bulan dan mampu mengubah pola komunikasi dalam keluarga sehingga permasalahan perilaku anak menurun. Abstract

Self-efficacy has an important role in career decision-making. The collected data showed that there were some students (grade 11 and grade 12) had confused to decide their career choice. The data proved that career guidance is necessary for high school students. If students get assistance earlier, students will be more confident to make career decisions in their future. Therefore, the "PLANS" training was given to grade 11’s students. The goal was to increased student’s career decision-making self-efficacy. This quasi experiment conducted using the untreated control group design with dependent pretest and post test samples using double pretest. Data were collected using Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale. The subjects were 34 students of grade 11 who had medium career decision-making selfefficacy (16 students of experiment group and 18 students of control group). The result showed that career decision-making self-efficacy of experiment group is higher than control group after “PLANS” training. The “PLANS” training contribute to 73% of career decision-making self-efficacy improvement.Keywords: self-efficacy, career decision-making, career guidance Efikasi diri berperan penting dalam pengambilan keputusan karir. Permasalahan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah siswa kelas XI dan XII merasa ragu dalam menetapkan pilihan studi lanjut. Hal ini menjadi bukti pentingnya bimbingan karir bagi siswa SMA. Semakin dini siswa mendapat pendampingan, maka semakin yakin pula siswa mengambil keputusan karir. Oleh karenanya, pelatihan perencanaan karir “PLANS” diberikan pada siswa kelas XI dengan tujuan meningkatkan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir. Eksperimen kuasi ini dilakukan dengan desain the untreated control group design with dependent pretest and post test samples using double pretest. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 siswa kelas XI dengan skor efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir tergolong sedang (16 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 18 siswa kelompok kontrol). Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perubahan yang signifikan dari skor pre ke post antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Pada kelompok eksperimen, skor efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir meningkat setelah mengikuti pelatihan “PLANS”, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak. Pelatihan “PLANS” memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karir sebesar 73%.Kata kunci: efikasi diri, pengambilan keputusan karir, perencanaan karir

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the extent to which affective commit¬ment could be increased through the storytelling method about organization success stories. Pretest-postest contrl group design was used i this study. Analysis of covariance and mixed analysis of variance were statistical tehniques to analyze data. The subjects were 56 employees with a minimum tenure of three years and were assigned into experimental and control groups. The experimental group was received storytelling about organization success story where as the control group did not receive any treatment. The level of affective commitment was measured by affective commitment scale. The measurement was conducted before and after the storytelling. Results of this research shows that there was a difference on affective commitment scores between experiment and control group as a result of the storytelling (F=12,995; p&lt;.05). However, tenure does not affect the treatment of storytelling method about organization success story in order to increase the employee’s affective commitment (F=14.79; p&lt;.01).Keywords: affective commitment, storytelling, tenureTujuan penelitian ini melihat sejauhmana komitmen afektif dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemberian cerita sukses organisasi melalui metode storytelling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen-kuasi dengan rancangan eksperimen pretest-posttest control group design dengan anacova dan anava mixed design sebagai teknik analisis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah karyawan tetap dengan masa kerja minimal tiga tahun. Penelitian melibatkan 58 orang yang dibagi kedalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 28 orang dan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 30 orang. Kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan perlakuan berupa pemberian cerita sukses organisasi melalui metode storytelling sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak mendapat perlakuan. Tingkat komitmen afektif diukur dengan menggunakan skala komitmen afektif. Pengukuran dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pemberian metode storytelling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan skor komitmen afektif antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang disebabkan oleh pemberian cerita sukses organisasi melalui metode storytelling (F=12,995; p&lt;0,05). Namun, masa kerja tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap perlakuan pemberian cerita sukses organisasi melalui metode storytelling untuk meningkatkan komitmen afektif karyawan (F= 14,79; p&lt;0,01). Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the effect of gratitude intervention towards people with physical disabilities well-being. The participants were two groups of people with physical disabilities (8 people for experimental group and 5 people for control group). The design of this study was untreated control group design with dependent pre-test and post-test samples. The similar treatment was also given for control group as a waiting list after intervention for experimental group. Well being was assessed using SPANE, PWS, and PTS. The result showed that there are significant differences in wellbeing score between experimental group and control group which are measured by SPANE U test -2,509, p=0,012. PWS U test -2,874, p=0,04. PTS U test -2,590, p=0,010.Keywords: gratitude, gratitude intervention, physical disabilities, well-beingTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh intervensi kebersyukuran terhadap kesejahteraan penyandang disabilitas fisik. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok penyandang disabilitas fisik yaitu kelompok eksperimen berjumlah delapan orang dan kelompok kontrol berjumlah lima orang. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen dengan pengukuran sebelum dan setelah perlakukan pada subjek. Kelompok kontrol sebagai daftar tunggu. Kesejahteraan diukur menggunakan skala pengalaman positif negatif (SPANE), kesejahteraan psikologis (PWS), dan pikiran positif (PTS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan kesejahteraan penyandang disabilitas fisik antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. SPANE nilai Z sebesar -2,509, p=0,012. Abstract

This research aimed to assess the influence of program sehat tanpa napza on drug use resistance self-efficacy. Quasi-experiment (untreated control group design with dependent pretest and posttest) was used as the design of the study. The participants of this study were eight-grader students from two junior high schools in Yogyakarta, which  X  junior high school was the experimental group and Y junior high school was the control group. Drug use resistance self-efficacy was measured with drug use resistance self-efficacy scale modified from Carpenter (2006). The data were analyzed with ANOVA mixed design using SPSS. The result shows that Program Sehat Tanpa Napza was not significantly increased drug use resistance self-efficacy in an experimental group of adolescent compared with the control group (F = 1.056; p > 0.05). However,  adolescent’s drug use resistance self-efficacy in the experimental group was increased significantly.

Abstract

Behavioral problems in adolescents at school become a phenomenon that is increasingly seen nowadays. Prosocial behavior is important for adolescents to carry out their social functions well. One important aspect that influences the tendency of prosocial behavior is emotion. The study’s objective was assessing the role of "Remaja Bijak" in improving adolescent emotional intelligence. An increase in adolescent emotional intelligence was expected to influence the increasing tendency of adolescent prosocial behavior. The training was given to adolescents aged 16-17 years. The results showed that there was no effect on "Remaja Bijak" training on the tendency of adolescent prosocial behavior. Improvements to the contents of the module can be considered in future studies

Abstract

The benefits of Pasien "PANDAI Program" (Patient with Acceptance and Action) for patient are to help them internalize self-acceptance toward their condition, give them peacefulness mentally, help them think of purposes in dealing with their illness, build a commitment to change their life to be better, and implement this commitment as a process of behavior change. The method used in this research was one group pretest-posttest design with 3 participants as experimental group. Wilcoxon SignedRank was used in quantitative analysis and supported by qualititave analysis using descriptive analysis. The result showed no difference between pretest-posttest (z=-0.447; p>0.05) and also posttest-follow up (z=-1.342; p>0.05). It indicated that Pasien PANDAI Program wasnn't effective to improve optimism in patient with cancer.
