Abstract

Business Incubator is a model in growing technology-based entrepreneurship. Compared with the other countries, the business incubator in Indonesia has not been well developed. In fact, the contribution of the business incubator is significant for the successes of the entrepreneurs and the economy in general. This study aimed to analyze the development strategy of business incubators (IncuBie) of IPB by analyzing the internal (Internal Factor Evaluation/IFE) and external (External Factor Evaluation/EFE) factors. This study applied SWOT analysis (Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats), and determined the alternative development strategy using Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The SWOT analysis showed four alternative development strategies. Meanwhile, the QSPM matrix analysis showed that an interesting strategy to be selected from various strategic alternatives that are available is by increasing the support to the business incubator through the implementation of regulation and provision of particular financing scheme based on its performance and services to the tenants. This strategy managed a number of strengths to take advantage of the existing opportunities (strengths-opportunities/SO) with the highest total attractive score (STAS).Keywords: business incubator, IFE, EFE, SWOT, QSPM

Abstract

Business competition in the automotive world is increasingly hypercompetitive. According to the Motor Vehicle Industry Association, annual purchase of motor vehicles has increased the share of automotive business. However, this increasingly open business condition has not been followed by positive impacts on the corporate profits of PT. XYZ in a span of 5 years. This study measured the performance of the supply chain in PT. XYZ using SCOR model approach. The weighting was calculated using fuzzy AHP and performance assessment matrix. The improved supply chain performance was formulated with the method of Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The measurement results show that the performance of supply chain in PT. XYZ is in the Good category (76%), the effectiveness performance with a value of 85% is in Good category while the efficiency performance is in Average category (68%). Supply chain improvement strategy was formulated with 3 tools: campaign quality, shop floor management, and cost control.Keywords: performance appraisal, SCOR, FGD, Fuzzy AHP

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship among the elements of management commitment, operational controls and human resource competencies in the occupational environmental, safety, and health management systems (ESHMS) in the XYZ Group. The secondary data were obtained from the company archives and judgmental sampling was used against the 100 expert respondents to obtain the primary data. Descriptive analysis and structural equation modelling (SEM) were used for data analysis method. The results showed that management commitment element significantly influences the company operational control and human resource competencies, and the operational control elements significantly influences the human resource competencies.Keywords: ESHMS, management commitment, operational controls and human resource competencies, SEM

Abstract

Banking businesses in Indonesia have grown very rapidly and they have to make efforts to survive. Banks have realized the need of a strategy in managing customer relationship to retain their customers for the businesses. Customer relationship management (CRM) is a strategy that is able help them to build long lasting relationships with their customers and increase profits. The objectives of this study were to identify the implementation of CRM and factors of CRM which have the most dominant influences on customer satisfaction and loyalty on Taplus of PT BNI (Persero) Tbk of the regional office of Jakarta BSD. The data were analyzed using the structural equation model (SEM). The survey results showed that 92.15% of the respondents stated that BNI WJB CRM performance level has been very good, while 7.85% of said the performance has been reasonably good. CRM indicators that have significant and dominant influences include the process and knowledge with a loading factor of 0.89. The results of the study showed that CRM variable significantly influences the customer satisfaction and customer loyalty; however, customer satisfaction insignificantly influences the customer loyalty.Keywords: customer relationship management, customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, SEM, BNI

Abstract

Wiralodra 27 rental car is a car service provider in Bogor city. Due to the high potential market in this industry, the car rental company requires an appropriate business model and new strategies in the face of competition. The objectives of this research are 1) to identify present business model of the company using the canvas business model approach; 2) to analyze each element that becomes the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat that affect the business model of the company; 3) formulate strategies to improve the canvas business model; and 4) to make recommendations for the improvement program of the business development of Wiralodra car rental 27. The method used in this research included the canvas business model and SWOT analysis as a tool of analysis. The respondents of this research consisted of 5 members of the Board of Director of the company and one senior employee. In addition, there were also twenty four customer respondents who were selected with purposive sampling. The research results showed recommendations for the improvements of all key elements of the canvas business model. The main priority scales of the improvements are the elements of customer segment, key partnership, revenue stream for associated risk factors of the business. The second priority scales of the improvements are the elements of value propositions, channel, customer relationship, key resources, key activities, and cost structure.Keywords: canvas business model, rental car services, SWOT, Wiralodra

Abstract

One major problem of Islamic banking in Indonesia today is the high Non-Performing Financing (NPF) with its ratio amounted to 5.68% in June 2016. This paper aimed to identify and examine both macroeconomic and bank-specific factors affecting NPF ratio of Islamic banking. Particularly, it used the panel data regression method with a monthly data basis of eleven Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. Furthermore, there were two periods examined i.e. from December 2011 to June 2016 (no specific restrictions on economic performance) and from February 2013 to January 2015 (restriction on economic performance). Technically, the dependent variable was NPF ratio (NPF) and the independent variables were Industrial Production Index (IPI), Real Sales Index (IPR), the difference between the BI Rate and inflation (BIREAL), the exchange rate of Rupiah against the US Dollar (EXR), the annual growth of financing (GFINY ), the ratio of financing to total assets (FINTA), the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return on Assets ratio (ROA), the coverage of loan loss provision (CKPN), and the concentration of financing in the real estate sector (REFIN). The results showed that in the two periods examined, NPF was significantly influenced by the internal factors. In the first period, NPF was significantly influenced by GFINY, CKPN, and REFIN while in the second period, NPF was significantly influenced by CAR, ROA, CPKN, and REFIN. This shows that the quality of risk management implementation, profitability and capital are important factors in reducing the NPF ratio.Keywords: financing risk, credit risk, Islamic banking, panel data, fixed effects model

Abstract

In the conduct of the socialization of sharia banking, BNI Sariah holds the collocation of letters carried out in BNI KLN IPB Dramaga. With the Collocation Program of BNI Sariah, we can see the effectiveness of socialization of sharia banking. The objectives of research are to analyze and to measure the impact of Brand awareness of BNI Sariah toward the effectiveness of BNI Sariah collocation program in BNI KLN IPB dramaga, to identify the dominant variable in determining the effectiveness of socializing of sharia banking, and to analyze the influence of Responsiveness of service officer of collocation program in BNI KLN IPB Dramaga. This research used quantitative analysis using the survey analyst to customers of BNI Sariah in BNI KLN IPB Dramaga and BNI Sariah Bogor and the analysis structural equation modelling (SEM). Based on the results of the analysis using the structural equation modelling (SEM), a conclusion can be taken from the study: collocation program is considered to have a positive and effective impact to increase the effectiveness of socialization of sharia banking that was carried out by BNI Sariah. Responsiveness is the dominant variable that supports the success of an effective socialization of BNI Sariah. Brand awareness also supports the socialization program, where BNI Sariah Brand is also well known among the public especially those who live in Dramaga.Keywords: effectiveness, socialization, sharia banking, responsiveness, brand awareness, SEM

Abstract

Nowadays, Indonesia cement industry is facing a dissatisfactory condition. The national cement competition landscape has been changed. There are some new cement producers crowded out the industry. At the time, they can corrupt the market share of the existing players, including PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. as one of the biggest cement producers in Indonesia. To overcome this problem, one of the best solutions is to improve the performance, and it can be started with a favorable performance measurement system. This study used a well-known performance measurement tool of Baldrige Excellence Framework (BEF) of 2015-2016. This study aims to define the criteria of the Baldrige Excellence Framework of 2015-2016 of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk, to assess the performance based on the Baldrige Excellence Framework of 2015-2016, and to give strategic and exact suggestions on the company performance measurement, based on the strength and opportunity for improvement and BEF scoring result. Based on the result of this study, PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. scored 423.91 points indicating that the company is classified as Global Average class for its global performance criteria with the predicate of Early Improvement. This means that performance of the company has to be improved in any fields to strive an excellence company within all criteria.Keywords: BEF, performance measurement, performance improvement, cement, PT Indocement

Abstract

This study aims to examine the variables that influenced the underpricing stock price when the company put its initial public offering in Indonesia Stock Exchange of the 2010-2015 period. The dependent variable in this study was underpricing measured by the value of initial returns, while the independent variables included ROA, DER, company age, company size, type of Industry, underwriter’s reputation, exchange rate and inflation. The data used in this study were secondary data collected by using purposive sampling method. The samples of 135 companies from were taken from 137 population companies conducted IPOs from 2010-2015 in Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study used logistic regression for data analysis. The results of this study showed that ROA, DER, age and inflation influenced the level of underpricing is proven. Other variables influencing the level of underpricing is not proven. This research model showed that the independent variables explained the variation in the level of underpricing of 89.6%.Keywords: underpricing, internal and external factors, ROA, DER

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to illustrate the structure of the soybean supply chain, to identify the performance of the soybean supply chain, and to recommend improvements in the form of managerial implications. This research used descriptive analysis method, and the analyzer used in this research was Supply Chain Operation References (SCOR). This study used primary data and secondary data. The primary data were obtained from direct observations, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), in depth interviews, and questionnaire whereas the secondary data were collected from literature study, farmer group data and agricultural statistical data from the Agriculture Department and Ministry of Agriculture. Based on the analysis of the supply chain structure, it was illustrated that there are two major parts of the supply chain structure, i.e. the short structure in which the breeder group acts as the main distributor, and the long supply chain structure in which the distribution pattern starts from the agent and dealer prior to reaching consumers. In general, the performance of the soybean supply chain in Grobogan Regency is reasonably good as it can be seen from the orders delivered to the customers and the perfect and in time order fulfillment as well as the suitability of the product with the increasing qualification standard. The order fulfillment cycle also can be adjusted with stock availability, and the supply chain flexibility can still be optimized when there is a sudden order, and supply chain costs can be covered from the sales of soybeans.Keywords: soybeans (Anguilla spp.), SCOR, supply chain, Grobogan District
