Abstract

The research is aimed to produce an effective social-personal guidance to develop students moral behavior. This research uses quantitative approach with quasi experimental method and non-equivalent control group design to students class VIII of SMP Negeri 26 Bandung. Data analysis techniques used to find out the effectiveness of personal-social guidance in developing the moral behavior of students in SMP Negeri 26 Bandung Academic Year 2017/2018, include: 1) normality test; 2) homogeneity test; and 3) independent t test. The results show that in general social-personal guidance is not effective in developing students moral behavior. But in particular there are five significant indicators, which is; 1) impose obligations as a child; 2) help others sincerely; 3) share / share information; 4) show concern for others; 5) guiding others to the task, and two insignificant indicators, namely; 1) understanding school rules; 2) consider the impact of lying.

Abstract

This research is a second year development research that aims to test the usefulness, accuracy, and feasibility of interactive professional recognition learning application products. The trial subjects were expert groups (learning media and PAUD learning), product user groups (PAUD teachers), and PAUD students. The results showed that application products included in the criteria were very useful, very feasible and very appropriate. This means that the substance of the edu-game profession application that has been developed has met the criteria of useful, proper and appropriate, so that it can be used as a choice of professional learning introduction media for PAUD students. The results of observations of PAUD students during the product user trial stage, obtained information that shows that PAUD students have been able to: 1) find differences in various types of professions, 2) play puzzle games to recognize the profession, and 3) recognize the profession through audio messages and pictures. Thus the interactive learning product application of edu-game profession meets the criteria of acceptable (acceptable) which is useful, feasible, and appropriate, and therefore can be used as an alternative choice of learning media that is fun and challenging for PAUD students in introducing the profession

Abstract

This study aimed to know the psychometry characteristic of need assessment instrument on the topic of classroom guidance in the social guidance and counseling services for students at SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. This study was research and development followed Saifuddin Azwar model. Data collection method was a rating scale. Data analysis used content validity which was formulated by Aiken, construct validity used Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and reliability analysis used Alpha Cronbach. The results of this development research were the need assessment instrument on the topic of classroom guidance in social guidance and counseling services for students at SMP N 1 Yogyakarta based on the content validity obtained 0,85, reliability 0,98 and found several new item groups from exploratory factor analysis result. It could be concluded that instrument of need assessment on the topic of social guidance and counseling was feasible to use

Abstract

The study aims to test the effectiveness of career guidance program to develop vocational identity of students. The study uses a quantitative approach with quasi experimental methods and non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted in SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri Yogyakarta by taking a research subject that is a class XI student who is determined by random cluster sampling technique. An instrument which is used is the scale of vocational identity and observation guidelines. Results showed empirically career guidance program interventions based theory of Super effective to develop vocational identity of students. This research can be a reference for school counselor in developing vocational identity of students in the school especially those who are in adolescence

Abstract

One reason of the high unemployment is the lack of career planning. The individu needs career maturity and views about the future (future time perspective) so that she/he can choose the right job. This research aimed to determine the influence of future time perspective toward career maturity in college student. This study used a quantitative approach. Sample in this study are 156 of college students in Jabodetabek.The measurement tools is Carstensen and Lang Future Time Perspective scale (CL-FTP) and Career Maturity Inventory form C (IMC form C). The result shos that future time perspective affecting positively to career maturity in college student significantly (R2= 0.139; p = 0.000). Simple linear regression analysis stated that future time perspective contributed 13,9% to the career maturity and 86,1% influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of traditional games as a medium of counseling in improving the social skills of students and know the influence of traditional games as a medium of counseling in improving students social skills. The research used quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design design research. The samples used purposive sampling with 12 experimental group and 12 control group. Instrument using social skill scale. The findings of this study reveal that 1) the level of social skills of students in SMP Negeri 18 Makassar before being treated in the form of traditional games are in the "low" category and after being given a traditional game increases or is in the high category. 2) there is a significant positive effect of traditional games in improving students social skills. That is, the students social skills can be improved by the provision of traditional games.

Abstract

People encounter many changes in the first year of college. It was related to adjustment’s problems, which was a serious problem that must be faced when entered college. Adaptation to new environment can make individual experienced stress. The various studies have shown that medical students experienced stress more higher than non-medical program students. Students who are experiencing extreme stress or depressed require serious attention cause it can have an adverse effect on learning process, achievement and even intent to suicide. This research involved 49 medical students. It took to determine the correlation between level of adjustment to academic demands and stress degree on new students in Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of North Sumatra, T.A 2016-2017. Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10 Test) were used to collect relevant data on adjustment rates and stress levels. Data were analyzed by using Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between adjustment rates to academic demands with stress level on new students with p value of 0.001 (p <0.05) and r value of -0.697.

Abstract

The aim of this study were to explore the type of personality based on Big Five Personality Traits model, to explore the academic achievement, and to investigate the effect of personality on academic achievement in college students. The participants are 321 students at University of HKBP Nommensen in 2015-2016 academic year. The instrument used for assessing the personality was the Big Five Personality Scale (includes dimensions neuroticsm, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, dan openness). Based on the descriptive analysis, it was found that most of the participants are classified in neuroticsm type. Related with the academic achievement, higher GPA was dominated by female students (GPA ≥2.75). Based on the regression analysis, it was found that personality effect the academic achievement significantly (R= 0,26; R2 = 6,9 %; F= 4,69; p-value <0,001). Based on the advance analysis of each dimension’s contribution for academic achievement, it was found that neuroticsm, extraversion, conscienstiousness are significantly effected academic achievement.

Abstract

This study is designed to describe the rate of multiethnic adolescent moral judgement development in West Borneo. The data analysis used is seeking for score P by summing up scores of stages 5A, 5B, and 6 for either each criteria or totality. This score P may be interpreted as score of subject moral judgment in making a decision, then index score is looked for. Furthermore, the index score is conversed into score T. Highest score T obtained by respondent represent the inclination of moral development level. Adolescent moral decision based on the research findings suggest highest Post Conventional level is native ethnic groups of Madura, whereas lowest Post Conventional level is Chinese ethnics. Conclusion in this study is each ethnic having high collectivism culture is not definite yet at high Post Conventional level.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the single mother parenting style in adolescent development. This pilot study involved three single mothers in Wajo District, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Criteria single mothers were selected based on the following criteria: (1) those who are divorced, widow, separated or single parenting, and abandoned by her husband for two years which do not provide for sufficient; (2) they are the mother of their own child, and (3) they have children aged 13-15 years old. The study participants were coded to represent single mothers (SM), consisting of SM1-PS, SM2-PS, dan SM3-PS. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the participants. The interview session takes about 20-30 minutes for each participant and interviews are recorded by voice recording device. The data gathered from semi-structured interviews were transcribed. The data analyzed using N-vivo 11 software.  The results reported two main themes are: 1) the relationship between single mother and the child, with sub-theme are: communication; 2)  the single mother ways in parenting style, with sub-themes: motivation, setting rules, solving the problem, supporting children’s activities, respecting children’s opinions. Conclusion: The relationships between single mother and their child as well that is supported by communication with the mother. The ways that single mothers do in parenting style applies motivation, setting rules, solving the problem, supporting children’s activities, respecting children’s opinions. Those ways are more like authoritative parenting style.  In addition, the single mothers who use corporal punishment by hitting children are more likely to cause children to run away from home and afraid to go home. In addition, the mother is firm in showing her decision to be followed by the child and no one can change it. The ways that single mothers do are more likely to be authoritarian style.
