Abstract

The goal of this study to explore the role of lesson study activity to improve lecturers performance at Department of math & science education, FKIP UM Metro. This is a descriptive research, using documentation and questionnaire method. The sources of data are Student, lecturer and supervisor. The analysis of data using quantitative and qualitative by doing triangulation based on self evaluation, student questionnaire and judgement team. The result found that (1) In General, The average of science lecturers performance are batter then before joined lesson study program, (2) Lecterers model have better performance than other how have nat  joined, (3) Specialy for the lecturers how involved in lesson study have improving performance; (4) Learning result of the student are batter than before using lesson study. The recomendation of this reseach, the lesson study program used to be continued to support improving lecturers performance in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to describe the understanding of prospective teachers on the concepts of heat, work, and thermodynamic process and the difficulties they face in learning the concepts of thermodynamics. This research was conducted using qualitative method. Data were collected using a diagnostic test and interview. The subjects were students of physics education, University of Cendrawasih who had attended the lectures of thermodynamics, as many as 39 people. The results of this study indicate that student teachers do not understand the concept of heat, work, and thermodynamic process well. Students can analyze the problem and solve the majority of them (30%). The settlement issue is not based on prior knowledge that already exists. Students have difficulty distinguishing the work done by the system or the environment. Students also have difficulty understanding the process in a diagram or change it in a different diagram.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research which aims to increase physical activity and learning outcomes of students SMPN 2 Lingsar the academic year 2014/2015. The subjects in this study VIII5 classes totaling 40 people. Implementation of classroom action research was conducted in two cycles with each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. Student learning activity data obtained through observation, while data on student learning outcomes obtained through the administration of the test at the end of each cycle. Based on the results of the evaluation cycle I obtained an average score of student learning activity is 11, which is in the category fairly active. The average value of the class in the first cycle of 73.95 with 78.95% classical completeness. Results of the evaluation in the second cycle to the average score is 14.6 students learning activities that are in the active category. The average value of the class in the second cycle of 78.10 with 89.19% classical completeness. The average score of student learning activity increased from the first cycle to the second cycle of 3.6, the learning outcomes of students increased by 4.15, while the classical completeness increased by 10.24%. Based on the results of this study concluded that the implementation of the learning model Quantum with discussion method can increase physical activity and learning outcomes VIII5 grade students of SMPN 2 Lingsar the academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) reveal the effect of problem based and expository learning towards physics’ learning outcomes, (2) uncover the effect of students’ science process skill towards physics’ learning outcomes, (3) reveal the interaction between students’ science process skill and their physics’ learning outcomes. This study is a quasi-experimental study applying factorial design 2 x 2. The study was conducted from November 2014 to May 2015.  The population of this research is the whole students of class VIII which comprises of 9 classes in MTS Negeri 1 Mataram. The purposive sampling was chosen as the sampling technique for this study, in which class VIII-8 acted as the experiment class and class VIII-7 as the controlled class. The data collection encompasses data of science process skill, and students’ physics’ learning outcomes (in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains) towards the main material of light. Technique of collecting data of science process and physics’ learning outcomes in affective and psychomotor domains were done by using observation sheet with certain criteria, while cognitive domain was done through the test.  The test instrument has previously been through validity test, reliability test, difficulty level, and discrimination index. The data obtained were firstly tested their normality and homogeneity, then continued by the testing of the hypothesis by using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Data analysis technique was done by using ANOVA 2x2 with different cell. The result of this study shows that (1) problem based and expository learning affects physics’ learning outcomes, (2) students’ science process skill affects their physics’ learning outcomes, and (3) there is no interaction between science process skill and students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Has successed studied shyntesis Barium M-Hexaferrite (BaM) powder with doping Mn and tested using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Shyntesis has using coprecipitation method. This study intend to describe substitute Mn against crystal bounded of BaM process with x = 0; 0.2; 0.4; and 0.6. BaM powder with doping Mn is dried on themperature 800C and calcined on themperature 400; 600; and 800 C for 4 hours.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning through problem posing approach to the students’ problem solving skills in terms of prior knowledge. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with 2x2 factorial study design. The study population was 163 students of class XI SMKN 9 Mataram scattered in 5 classes. These samples included 55 students, divided into two classes by cluster of random sampling technique. The research instrument is a test mastery of concepts and problem solving skills test given at the beginning and end of the study. The data was analyzed by Manova two ways. (1) students learn to use cooperative learning model with problem posing approach was significantly different in the aspect of problem solving ability than students who study with learning cooperative model only, (2) students who have high prior knowledge different significantly in aspects of problem solving ability compared students who have low prior knowledge, (3) there was not an interaction effect between learning model with prior knowledge of the problem solving ability students.

Abstract

Abstract—Has successfully carried out the study synthesis of materials M-heksaferit with doping metal Co using FTIR. The study was conducted to see the phase that forms on M-hexaferrites material by adding a transition metal element cobalt (Co) with the mole fraction x 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0 done drying with T 80°C for 2 hours and calcined the T 400, 600, 800°C for 4 hours. Barium M-hexaferrites BaFe12O19 characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), the picture looks FTIR results for the mole fraction x 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1.0 located on T 8000C.Keywords: Barium M-hexaferrites, cobalt, coprecipitation, FTIR.

Abstract

Abstract—This research aims to know the effect of using interactive multimedia towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature ang heat. This research is an experimental research that uses pretest-posttest control design. The sample of this research is grade XA and XB students of SMAN 1 Alas in the academic year 2013/2014 that determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments that used to collect the data are test sheets of mastering concepts is developed based on indicator of temperature and heat learning material on the sub topic of expansion, heat transfer and black principle. Meanwhile, the test of critical thinking skill is developed based on the indicator of argument analysis shows that mean score of concepts mastery of experimental group is 61% and control group is 54%. The result of t-test of concepts mastery and critical thinking skill shows that experimental group is significantly higher that control group. It means that the use of interactive multimedia has an effect towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature and heat.Keywords: multimedia interaktif, penguasaan konsep, keterampilan berpikir kritis, suhu dan kalor.

Abstract

Abstract—The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015. The design of this study used experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study is students of grade VIII SMPN 2 Gunungsari, with sampling was using cluster random sampling technique. The samples are the students of class VIII A as experimental class and class VIII B as control class. Data results studying by test used is polled variance t-test. The results of the analysis of hypothesis test obtained tcount= 2,71 compared with ttable = 2,.02 at the significance level of 5%. According to criteria of hypothesis testing, if tcount > ttable, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there are effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015.Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Experimental Method, Learning Outcome

Abstract

Abstract—This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to increase the students activities and physics learning outcomes with implementation problem based learning model assisted by props in grade VIIIA SMPN 22 Mataram 2014/2015. This classroom action research conducted by two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. Action research consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The implementation of classroom action research was successful because it obtained an average score of students learning activities from the first cycle to the second cycle was on active criterion to be very active with average scores of 16,875 to be 22,75. Cognitive learning outcomes of students with the average value of the first cycle of 74,13 with classical completeness 73,91% increased with the average value of second cycle of 79,35 with classical completeness 86,96%. Affective students learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle with an average value of 66,195 to 78,95 on the criteria good enough to be good. Psychomotor students learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle an average value of 71,63 to 85,655 are the criteria enough skilled become skilled. Thus, this research can be concluded by implementation of problem based learning model aided by props can increase students activities and learning outcomes of phyics grade VIIIA SMPN 22 Mataram in academic year 2014/2015.Keywords: problem based learning model, props, activities and learning outcomes
