Pengarus Skeptisisme Terhadap World Theology dan Global Theology Saifulloh, Ahmad

Abstract

Scepticism, in a socio-historical study of philosophy in the West, appeared to have large considerable portion compared with the theories. Scepticism, here means is making a the point of view caution, suspicion, and not directly justify the theory of truth. With all sorts of implementations it generates in the philosophy discourse, Scepticism has become one of the methods to reach the truth. But in terms of theology, it gives a different effect. Scepticism has made the standard of truth of the religions is not based on the ‘truth claim’ that is essentially owned by each religion anymore. Truth is human subjectivity. ‘World Theology’ concept presented by Wilfred Cantwell Smith, the concept of Global Theology presented by John Hick is two discourses of religious pluralism doctrine which affected by scepticism. (Skeptisisme, dalam kajian sosio-historis filsafat di Barat, ternyata memiliki porsi yang cukup besar dibandingkan dengan teori-teori kebenaran yang berdampingan dengannya. Skeptisisme di sini berarti adalah mendudukkan sudut pandang yang hati- hati, curiga, dan tidak langsung menjustifikasi teori kebenaran yang diterima. Dengan segala macam implementasi yang dihasilkannya dalam diskursus filsafat, skeptisisme telah menjadi salah satu metode untuk mencapai kebenaran. Namun kaitannya dalam wacana yang berbau teologis, ternyata memberikan efek yang berbeda. Skeptisisme telah dengan jelas mempengaruhi salah satu produk postmodern; pluralisme agama. Skeptisisme telah menjadikan standar kebenaran agama-agama tidaklah lagi berdasarkan doktrin mutlak (truth claim) yang secara esensial dimiliki oleh tiap-tiap agama, namun justru kebenaran adalah yang kembali pada subjektivitas manusia. Abstract

As one foothold to create perspective in understanding the growing phase in the politics of the Christian  West, is reviewing Inquisition. In fact it was an Institutional Church, in its trace of history incised dark history. Inquisition, is not excessive to say as a  real  symbol  of  the  violence  perpetrated  the  Christian  West  against  resistances  that emerged from society; Either from other faiths, as well as Christians who deemed to have been out the Church’s mainstream. However it should be noted, Inquisition has resulted an infiltration adapted to the field of Islamic Studies. Equipped with study of Western history,  emerged  perspective  that  seems  to  generalize  the  political  history  situation both of religion. This is certainly a fatal problematic, where the conceptual different of religions –in this case Islam and Christian- turned into something that was not respected. The identity of religions may not be generalized by one angle polemic. It is important to be held an identification problem exclusively to provide a clear solution indeed. Abstract

Javanese people were known as religious communities, but there are some syncretic people among them who likely to compromise the things are somewhat different even contrary to religion. They also do not question the right or wrong in religion, pure or not, so they see all religions are true. Raden Ngabehi Ranggawarsita was a figure representing this. He was born and raised in between two major traditions, Islamic tradition and Javanese tradition. He received Islamic tradition from pesantren and Javanese tradition from his environment, Surakarta Palace. These two traditions affected his thinking, not exception his thought about God. Because it also, the concept of God which was initiated by Ranggawarsita did not fully represent the fundamental values of Islam (tawhid). He had has the Manunggaling Kawula Gusti in view on God. This concept showed that Ranggawarsita as adherent of kejawen and in a time he was a Muslim. This paper will look critically at the Ranggawarsita’s view on God.

Abstract

In the discourse of women’s liberation was hailed by adherents of gender equality, Hermeneutics has a significant role. It can be seen clearly by considering the function Hermeneutics deemed capable of reconstructing the verses (nass) which considered Misogyny or gender biased. One of the figures who hard enough to practice Hermeneutics as one means to ‘rediscover’ the rights of women in the texts, is Riffat Hassan. Riffat, with her efforts to try to re-interpret the meanings in the Qur’an related to the gender discourse. For Riffat, patriarchal culture that deeply ingrained was implications of hegemonic texts understanding. Women, for Riffat have rights and obligations in the portion of the ‘same’ in quantity without having to think about the logical consequences are present therefrom.

Abstract

The Inclusive theology term is well known in Religious Plurality Discourse. Generally, it can be expressed as a view which sees the truth in other religion although that one still embracing his religion. Inclusive Theology, has been popularized by One of Modern Scholar; Nurcholish Madjid (Cak Nur), as an alternative of violence and religion conflict which in the view of the modernist has reduced the meaning of religion as the claim of salvation. Whereas this theology hasn’t been a solution but new problem caused reduction of the meaning and Islam identity as a Din. As an example is shifting meaning of Islam, from ‘organized religion’ become ‘submission’ is one of big mistakes caused this theology. This work supposed to criticize this concept of Inclusive Theology derived by Cak Nun.

Abstract

In tracking down the cultural history owned by civilliation, it is important to conduct research based on worldview perspective. Because every society scientifi activity will create their own worldview. The wordview that built above these scientific elements will construct their cultures. Worldview is certainly may not formed by it self. It will match, get acquinted, and assimilated with worldviews of many other civilizations.This theory approved by many scholars as structure determined birth of cultures of any civilizations, including the West. West culture on its birth and development also relies on Western Worldview. Western Worldview turned out in their history related very intense with Islamic Worldview which manifestated in the constructs of civilization that also covers therein culture concepts. Islamic Worldview gives a great influence on construct of Western Worldview.Including concepts of Western culture. (Dalam melacak sejarah kebudayaan yang dimiliki oleh suatu peradaban, penting untuk melakukan penelitian berdasarkan perspektif pandangan hidup. Hal ini dikarenakan setiap aktivitas keilmuan di suatu masyarakat akan membentuk cara pandang mereka terhadap dunia. Pandangan hidup yang dibangun di atas elemen-elemen ilmiah inilah yang kemudian mengkonstruk budaya-budaya masyarakat tersebut. Pandangan hidup tentunya tidak mungkin terbentuk sendirian. Ia akan bertemu, berkenalan, serta berasimilasi dengan pandangan hidup peradaban-peradaban lain.Teori ini diakui oleh banyak ahli sebagai struktur yang menentukan lahirnya budaya-budaya dari peradaban manapun, termasuk Barat. Abstract

Religious plurality is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the reality of life. In the midst of the diversity of ideological differences and truth claim, indeed every believer is required to tolerate all sorts of concepts conceived by the ideology and truth claim. It is obvioulys become a logical implication because each ideology and truth will lead followers too surely believe all the religion dogma; including claim of salvation. However, in view of liberalism, tolerance alone is not enough. Religious Pluralism needs to be propagated as a solution to religious harmony. In the other words, Religious Tolerance in the view of Liberal is Religious Pluralism. Religious Pluralism, as part of Western postmodern discourses attempt to relativize truth claims of religions, so there is no truth can be acknowledged. Islam was included. This concept indeed is in contradiction to the concept of tolerance in slam that acknowledges religious plurality in society without coercing to believe religions truth claim. Islam is conceptually recognized Plurality, but firmly reject Pluralism.

In this case, the church provides one; secularization (Sebagai salah satu pijakan untuk mendudukkan perspektif dalam memahami fase yang berkembang dalam politik Barat Kristen, adalah mengkaji Inkuisisi Gereja. Ia nyatanya adalah sebuah Institusi Gereja yang di perjalanannya belah menorehkan sejarah hitam. Inkuisisi, tidaklah berlebihan jikalau dikatakan sebagai simbol nyata kekerasan yang dilakukan Barat Kristen terhadap perlawanan-perlawanan yang muncul dari akar rumput masyarakat; baik dari pemeluk agama lain, maupun pemeluk agama Kristen yang dianggap keluar mainstream. Namun perlu dicatat, bahwasanya ternyata Inquisisi Gereja ini telah menghasilkan sebuah infiltrasi yang teradopsikan kepada bidang Studi Islam (Islamic Studies). Bermodalkan studi sejarah Barat, muncullah perspektif yang terkesan menyamaratakan situasi sejarah politik kedua agama. Hal ini tentunya menjadi sebuah problematika yang fatal, di mana perbedaan konseptual agama-agama –dalam kasus ini Islam dan Kristen- menjadi sesuatu yang tidak diindahkan. Identitas setiap agama tentunya tidak mungkin disamaratakan hanya berdasarkan polemik dari satu sudut. Penting tentunya diadakan sebuah identifikasi masalah secara eksklusif guna mengambil langkah yang jelas. Dalam hal ini, gereja memberikan sebuah solusi; sekularisasi.)
