Abstract

This paper will discuss the problem of Trinity as a doctrine that underlies the faith of ??Christianity. It is considered as a delusion theological doctrine which is both ambiguous and ??compelled. Al-Qur??an criticizes the confusion of Trinity as a doctrinal astray of human ??invention possessing no basis from Allah and it has triggered major conflicts within the ??Christianity itself. The confusion of Trinity willl be revealed through the method on historical criticism based on Qur??anic and Biblical Studies the ??confusion of Trinity is revealed. There are at least two aspects of the fallacy possessed by ??Trinity: Political aspect and the abberation of Christianity religious teachings. Moreover, there ??is an identical proof regarding the political interests of the Roman Emperor Constantine ??influencing the formulation of Trinity at Nicaea Council 325 C.E. The influence was an ??invasion of polytheism and paganism into Trinity confusing the elements of monotheism and ??polytheism. The distortion of religious teachings in Trinity is the presence of teachings of Jesus ??Christ  concerning an obligation to worship hm as God, while it does not exist in Gospel. The ??doctrine of Jesus divinity came from Paul. It precisely deviated monotheism principle. ??Consequently, there was a conflict in Christianity schools in respect to Trinity since that era up ??to the present day.??

Abstract

Majority of Orientalists who focuses on Qur??anic Studies dominates a number of critical views ??concerning the originality of al-Qur??an. Those ideas are: the disarrangement of Qur??anic verses; ??even they believe in that verses are in confusion, the absence of interrelation between topics within ??it, the lack of scientific writing structure, and some of them argue that al-Qur??an is precisely a ??consolidation between words of Muhammad and not a divine revelation. Even though those ideas ??are not true. If al-Qur??an is analyzed carefully utilizing scientific tools such as Arabic, the ??privileges (I??jāz) of al-Qur??an will be founded in many of its sides. One of them is language ??privileges which is also familiar as I??jāz lughawy. Badiuzzaman Said Nursi, a reformer Muslim ??scholar in his age revealed the beauty, harmony, and privileges of language in al-Qur??an. This ??paper will discuss Nursi??s thought about I??jāz Lughawiy in al-Qur??an including four main elements, those are balāghah and faṣāḥaḥ, structure of text and grammar, the secret of muqāṭa??ah, altogether ??with the word repetitions in al-Qur??an.??

Abstract

This paper examines the political thought of Ali Abdul Raziq, a Egyptian Muslim figure. ??His political idea convinces a controversy between Muslim and Western scholars. Back In his ??country, he is opposed by a number of Muslim scholars because his thought bothered some parties. His idea, particularly arguing that that politic and religion are indeed two different ??things; politic is substantially khila>fah, qada?? and governmental ??task matters which derived from mundane perspectives, while religion, in the other hands underlies merely the issue of Muslim faith. His thought is highly appreciated by Westerners ??and even considered as a crucial progress of politic in Islam. Antony ??Black, for instance.  He praised Ali as the revolutionist. In spite of it, it is crucial for readers to realize that the ??essence of argument given by Ali is anemic and contrast to Islam. Therefore, it is a need to examine Ali??s political discussion with further empirical evidences. After examining his work, researcher finds at least there are four fundamental arguments influencing his thought. First, ??the absence of hujjah syar??iyyah that upholds the concept imamate. Second, the concept of khila>fah is not ??required by Muslims. Third, the treatise accomplished by Prophet Muhammad is purely ??based on religious aspect. And the last, politic is an independent concept that should be ??drifted apart from religious elements. Consequently, Ali??s bias toward secularism is clear; particularly in his approval separating state from any religion institutions. This assumption is also ??built up by the fact that he was a student of two orientalists, Mallino and Sentillana, who taught him during his study at the University of Egypt (al-Ja>mi??ah al-Mis}riyyah).

Feminist Theology is a movement considered have altered several doctrines of ??Christianity, by cause of their persistence calling for equality with men. Initially, the ??movement of Feminist Theology merely demanded favors they should had it. ??However, Feminist Theologian gone so far from the position they should be before ??breaking decrees of Christianity. They tend to understand God through a women-??biased point of view, since concept of God are commonly comprehended from ??patriarchal perspective. Indeed, a true theology is what comes based on Holy ??Scripture. Such a principle, however, is not applied by Feminist Theology, since ??their theological view are established on Christian women experience all this time. ??According to Feminist Theology, doctrine of Christianity suggested to prioritize ??men rather than women and accordingly, Feminist Theology desire to reconstruct ??it to be more slightly feminine-nuanced. Margaret D. Kamitsuka, one of Feminist ??Theologians believes in that Feminist Theology born in a struggle and continuously ??humiliated, before bringing about the new spiritual image and resistance discourse ??concerning in an empowerment of women. To conclude, this paper will try to ??reveal briefly the development and Feminist Theological view about doctrine of ??Christianity.??

Abstract

Freedom in choosing beliefs is the right of all human beings. Even Human Rights has been mentioned about basic human rights in detail, which one of them is freedom of the ??interest and religion. The detail is also practiced in Indonesia According to 1945 Constitution (UUD) of Republic of Indonesia, it is said that the state guarantees the freedom for the ??people to embrace the religion of their choice. Likewise with Islam, it also regulates ??freedom of religion as mentioned in the QS. al-Baqarah. [2] 256. Unfortunately, ??although there are numbers of literatures saying that the freedom of choosing religion is ??a human right, there is still a compulsion in choosing religion in various ways. This paper ??will focus on how freedom of choosing a religion based on the principles of la> ??Ikra>ha fi> al-Di>n contained in the QS. al-Baqarah. [2] 256. By studying from various ??tafsir, the author concludes later that the concept of la> ??Ikra>ha fi> al-Di>n in that ??verse explains the freedom for a man in choosing a religion, whether he wants to choose ??Islam or non-Islam. This freedom, however, is organized after becoming a Muslim, in accordance with the practice of Sharia of Islam in kaffah. It means that ??the choice to be a Muslim is a genuine experience and embraces huge consequences. In addition, this verse shows how much Islam respects for freedom in ??embracing any religion and belief. It is a warning for Muslims not to force other people ??to embrace Islam because it is the preference of sincerity of a person who comes from ??his own heart without any coercion.??

Abstract

This article assumes most contemporary intellectuals who considered that the scholars of hadith do not concentrate to criticism of ??matan? of hadith. According to them, the classic hadith scholars portray not much sense in reviewing and critiquing the prophetic traditions. This criticism is inherited and developed by some reviewers of prophetic tradition in the West. Some may think that the scholars did not use a lot of sense in criticizing the hadith. In fact, any study of any text can not be done without using the sense. But, in studying the hadith texts, the scholars of hadith did not rely on the opinions of the sense only, but they put the sense into its position proportionally. Related to this, the criticism methodology of ??sanad? is part of the criticism of ??matan? that can not be separated, because of the efforts of the scholars in reviewing ??sanad? is to prove the authenticity and validity of ??matan?. The validity of a hadith should be assessed through a study of the ??sanad? and ??matan? once. To judge a hadith by the sense only can not be accepted. So, to prove the truth of any information is not enough just by assumption or opinion of the sense itself. Proving the accuracy of ??riwayat? empirically has been done by the previous hadith scholars, and it is their main activity to prove the truth of narration of hadith they heard and understood by their sense.

Abstract

This article is a kind of introductory explanation of how Islamic epistemology does not and cannot separate religion from the general knowledge and science in general. The idea will begin from the anxiety of some prominent people in religions of the world on the facts happening nowadays at western universities and higher-education institutions. Based on that, this article tries to introduce the classification of knowledge as far as Islam is concerned. It will be elaborated that by recognizing the senses alone, western scientists are only developing a research method, the observation method, or sensory experiments. This observation method is further developed to a very sophisticated method, but it still empties into the absorption of sense-perception. Sense process in the form of reasoning is used, but only to choose, to decide and to reason, not as another instrument in capturing realities. Contrary to Western scientists, as can be seen further, Muslim scientists recognize that the legitimacy of science is not based only on the observation method, but also rational and intuitive methods. In other words, the science does not only recognize the sensory perception in the process of knowledge, but also the sense and perception of the voice of the heart. This has brought about changes and inventions in many fields of knowledge in the early development of Islam. The dichotomy and separation of religion from the general knowledge in Islam as far as history proved had made Islam fail to shine until the time being.
