Abstract

ABSTRACTThe quality of cut flowers can be improved by soaking them in a preservative solution, containing three basic compounds, sucrose, citric acid, and Lysol (called the basic formula). A research was conducted to find out an exact formulation which can give an optimal result by mixing the basic formula with cytocinine as a growth substances or anti-ethylene molecule as an completing agent (called the complete basic formula) for chrysanthemum cut flower. This research was done in the plant physiology laboratorium at Faculty of Agriculture of Bandung Raya University, Bandung on July to August 2004 by using univariat Randomized Block Design method consists five treatments, which are basic formula, basic formula + cynetine, basic formula + BAP, basic formula + AOA, and basic formula + STS. The result shows that the quality of chrysanthemum cut flowers can be kept by soaking it in a basic formulation preservative solution only, which containts 48 x 103 mgL-1 sucrose + 241 mgL-1 citric acid + 800 mgL-1 lysol in 14 hours. Soaking the cut flowers in a preservative solution, the decreasing of fresh weight is also minimalized and relative 2-days water uptake is maximalized. The number of ethylene that synthesized and respiration activity of chrysanthemum cut flowers can be pushed by adding the cytocinine into basic formula. Key Words:  Preservative Solution, Quality Of Chrysanthemum Flowers, Growth Substances Cytocinine, Anti-Ethylene

Abstract

ABSTRACT Biodiversity of potential  soil microbes has been regarded as biological fertilizer of Zea mays in marginal land. A few microbe increased the rate of growth  of plant throught absorbtion slow released N and P in soil. The isolation, identification and population of soil microbes from rizosphere at Walantaka (Banten province) had been done in the Soil Biology Laboratories and the greenhouse, Pajajaran University- Bandung, during Mei to Agustus 2009. The soil was collected randomly from sites in Walantaka. To increase N and P using trapping and selection medium from from rizosphere at Walantaka (centre of Zea mays production), province of Banten.  The Exploration of potential microbe Isolates of Azotobacter, Azospirillum, microbes dissolver phosphate (MPF) dan Mycorrhyzae microbes were identified and were founded in soil samples. The result showed, on okon selection medium  can be found 4 Azospirillum, on Ashby medium  lived 4 Azotobacter,  and Pikovskaya medium got 2 MPF and Mycorrhyzae microbes.Key words: marginal land, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, MPF, Mycorrhyzae, Zea mays

Abstract

ABSTRACTA research was carried out to know response duku seedling on soil from various location to NPK fertilizer. The research was conducted in green house of BPSB TPH IX from January until April and arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design with Split Plot Design and to know NPK absorbtion to leaf meristem obtained through laboratory analysis. The result of research showed that response of duku seedling on soil from various locations to NPK fertilizer was tested not significant to all of parameters observed except to plant height accretion of NPK fertilizer.Key words: Duku (Lansium domesticum Correa), Seedling, NPK

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the major problem in chillipepper production was virus infection, with Chilli Veinal Mottle Virus (ChiVMV) as one of the most important viruses in Asia. Strategy to manage virus infection is not easy. The use of resistant varieties was considered as the best strategy to control viral disease. The research was undergone to find resistant genotypes of chillipepper that can be used as sources of ChiVMV resistance genes. This evaluation involve 14 genotypes from the collection of Genetic and Plant Breeding laboratory, Department of Agronomy and Horticultura. ChiVMV isolat Cikabayan was used for the source of inoculum. Based on the response from twice evaluation, it was known that PBC495, ICPN12#4, CCA321 and VC211a-3-1-1-1 genotypes were consistence in the response of resistance to ChiVMV infection. PBC495, VC211a-3-1-1-1 and CCA321 were identified as resistant genotypes and ICPN12#4 was identified as susceptible genotype.Key words: chillipepper, resistance, chilli veinal mottle virus

Abstract

ABSTRACT This Research aim to to know sweet maize crop result and growth ( Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt.) At various organic manure dose and intensity processing of soil tillage,This research have been executed in kampong baru petir Banten. Research take place from June until September 2008. Research use Random Device of Group ( factorial RAK) Pattern, consisting of two factor and three restating, first factor is organic manure dose with four level that is, 0; 10; 20; and 30 ha-1 ton. Second factor is intensity processing of soil tillage with three level that is, once, twice, and thrice processing of soil tillage, so that there are 12 treatment combination and 36 set of attempt. Result of research indicate that organic manure dose differ reality, clean weighing of cob at organic manure dose 10 ha-1 ton equal to 1.386,8 g per check, organic manure dose 20 ha-1 ton equal to 1.316,27 g per organic manure and check 30 ha-1 ton equal to 1.393,83 g per check. Intensity Processing of soil tillage show to differ is not real and also  not happened interaction among organic manure dose with intensity processing of soil tillage.Key words: soil tillage, organic manure, Ultisols

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims tomeasure inoculation dose fungi Micoriza arbuskula on the growth of oil palm (Elais quineensis Jacq.) Varieties Dura Pesifera Sriwijaya 1 (DPSJ-1) in nurseries. Method used in research is method of experiments by using Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of six repeated treatment in four replication, from which 24 units of the experiment. Each treatment consisted of five plants with one plant samples victims, so the total 120 oil palm seeds. The treatment is TO = 0 g propagal per polibag, T1 = 8 g propagal per polibag, T2 = 16 g propagal per polibag, T3 = 24 g propagal per polibag, T4 = 32 g propagal per polibag, T5 = 40 g propagal per polibag. Observed variables were plant height, stem circumference, number of stem leaves, wet weight of root, and root dry weight. The results showed that, Micoriza arbuscula fungus dose of 40 g propagal per polibag able to produce growth of oil palm seed that is good height plant of 117,18 cm, plant the amount of leaf midrib strands 16.50, root dry weight of 115,57 g.Key words: Micoriza arbuscula, growth, palm oil, Elaeis quineensis Jacq.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPalm juice as a raw material of brown sugar can be fermented easly. Smoke is used traditionally as an alternative indirect way to preserve the palm juice. Preservation of palm juice using liquid smoke directly have never been conducted before. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of liquid smoke on palm juice preservation. First step, the liquid smoke was redestilated. Then, 0,50%, 1,00%, 1,50%, 2,00%, and 3,00%(v/v) concentration of liquid smoke was applied on palm juice when tapping and storage. It showed that the liquid smoke with concentration under 0,5% (v/v) cannot preserve the palm juice during 12 hours storage. 1% until 3% liquid smoke can preserve the palm juice during 12 hours storage. In fact, the pH of palm juice with liquid smoke increased when it was tapped, but the pH of palm juice without liquid smoke decreased certainly. The concentration of liquid smoke 1% and 3% could preserve the pH of palm juice above 6. That indicated the palm juice could be processed become brown sugar.Key Words: Liquid Smoke Palm Juice, Tapping, and Storage

Abstract

ABSTRACTBrown sugar has a specificity than others. It is not only as a sweetener, but also have a low glicemic index and specific flavor. That are the reason why does the brown sugar become a prospective commodity in the global market. Palm juice is th raw material of brown sugar which is easy to fermentation when it is tapped. An alternative way to preserved the palm juice was using liquid smoke. The aim of this research was identifying the effect of additional liquid smoke with  redistilation and without redistilation on the colour’s changing of brown sugar. It used Chromameter CR300 to measured colour intencity with La and b system. The result showed that additional liquid smoke with or without redistillation  made  the colour’s changing. The colour of  brown sugar with additional redistillation liquid smoke lighter than brown sugar with additional liquid smoke without redistillation.Key words : Brown Sugar, liquid smoke, redistillation, colour.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPhosphorus deficiency test research in several clones of sugar cane produced in seven months has been carried out during 25 April-25 November 2007 in the Laboratory ICBB, Nagrak Cilubang-Bogor. The purpose of this research is to influence the interaction between phosphoru concentration of sugarcane clones. This research using completely randomized design arranged as a factorial with two factors. The first factor is composed of sugarcane clones with three levels different there are: cv. Triton (V1), cv. PSJT 94-41 (V2), and cv. PA 175 (V3). The second factor is the addition of KH2PO4 in the culture medium modification of P deficiency consisting of six levels, namely: 0 mg/l KH2PO4 (D1), 34 mg/l KH2PO4 (D2); 68 mg /l KH2PO4 (D3); 102 mg /l KH2PO4 (D4); 136 mg /l KH2PO4 (D5) and 170 mg /l KH2PO4 (D6). Results obtained by the interaction between concentration of P given by clones tested in vitro, and sugarcane cv PA 175 best growth on media by providing 170 mg /l KH2PO4Key words: Saccharum officinarum L, phosphorus, devisiensi, in vitro

Abstract

ABSTRACTRubber replanting in Jambi Province started from 2006 to 2010 need millions high quality of rubber clon every year. Assesment was aimed to describe a potency of rubber seedling in every year mucipal in Jambi Province. Assesment was done in three month Maret to June 2006 in Tebo, Merangin, Sarolangun and Muaro Jambi by survey, interview with questioner of state breeder of rubber estate. Respondences were selected by purposive sampling. Result show each municipal has already TRUP. Quantity rubber seed was enough produced to fulfill their own need. Treat was occurred due to aviabilitty of entress, hence it needs a supply from other breeding places.Key words: High quality of rubber clon, Breeder, Entres, TRUP
