Abstract

The nutrient mapping objectivity is 1) Information and data can lowland on P and K nutrient, 2) Lowland cover account for level P and K status. The using impact is efficient and rational for P and K. Fertilizing recommended of paddy, the fertilizer need efficient is guiden soil nutrient status. Analysis program on the chemical element status of the ricefield P and K in 2003 is located in Maos Subdistrict of Cilacap Regency. Methodology use comprises: preparation, operation of soil sample taking and analysis of soil. Main Survey performs the sample talking of individual soil which is become as sample of comphosit sample, 1 sample of chomposit sample consist of 10- 15 sample of individual soil. The next level is sample of chomposit, show much 156 cohmposit soil, the data from the result of soil analysis of the content P and K through 3 status (low criteria, middle and high). Commonly.  The result of the status mapping on the ricefield P and K is as follows: there are 156 samples of soil of the chemical element status P; low up to high of Maos Subdistrict, the middle status is 31-38 mg/100 mg P2O5 or 735,052 hectars wide; and the high status is 50-77 mg / 100 g P2O5 with 1258,282 hectars wide, but the status of middle chemical element K is 14-18 mg/100 g P2O5 with 1.696,649 hectars wide and the status of high K is 22-37 mg/100 g K2O with 400,738 hectars wide by doing fertilizing suitable with the result of soil analysis, so the cost can be economized for Rp 370 259 63,-1 per season for the buying of the fertilizer SP-36 and Rp 35. 093.520 per planting season for the buying of the fertilizer KCL.

Abstract

An investigation on diversity monitoring of ginger family (Zingiberaceae) was carried out on Jengok, Banjaran, Kranji, and Pelus riverbanks in Purwokerto. This study required conventional surveys and repeated measurements to identify and to evaluate changes. Twelve permanent plots were established in 1990 covering the north, central, and south parts of the rivers. The ginger vegetation in 2005 was compared with data taken in 1990, 1997, and 2003. The result of this study showed that the number of spesies in most of the bank reached the peak in 2003 then decreased again in 2005.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh herbisida metolachlor terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Percobaan lapangan dilaksanakan mulai bulan Nopember 2003 s/d Meret 2004 di lahan percobaan Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan PT Syngenta di desa Balonggandu, Kecamatan Jatisari  Kabupaten Kerawang Propinsi Jawa Barat, ketinggian tempat  17 m di atas permukaan laut dengan jenis tanah ordo Entisol. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah sebagai petak utama adalah empat jenis bahan organik yaitu tanpa bahan organik, kompos jerami padi, pupuk kotoran sapi dan kompos eceng gondok, sebagai anak petak adalah empat dosis herbisida metolachlor yaitu tanpa herbisida, 1 kg b.a. ha-1, 2 kg b.a. ha-1 dan 3 kg b.a. ha-1. Data hasil percobaan dianalisis dengan sidik ragam pada taraf 5 % Perbedaan di antara setiap dua angka respon akibat dari dua taraf faktor perlakuan yang berbeda untuk setiap taraf faktor perlakuan lainnya diuji dengan menggunakan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) dengan taraf 5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah dan bobot nodula efektif dipengaruhi oleh pemberian bahan organik, Bobot kering  dan hasil tanaman kedelai dipengaruhi oleh intraksi di antara bahan organik dengan dosis herbisida metolachlor. Hasil tertinggi diperoleh dengan pemberian pupuk kotoran sapi dengan aplikasi metolachlor dosis 2 kg   ha-1 b.a. (2,03 Mg ha-1)

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB-CA), College, Laguna. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memilih strain Bacillus subtilis sebagai agen pengendali hayati Rhizoctonia solani pada tanaman jagung. Sebanyak 41 strain isolat Bacillus diisolasi dari akar tanaman jagung yang dikumpulkan dari berbagai tempat di Filipina diskrin secara in vitro terhadap isolat R. solani, penyebab penyakit busuk batang pada tanaman jagung. Dari ke 41 isolat Bacillus tersebut, dua strain B. subtiolis yakni BR23 dan BS100 ditemukan sangat efektif baik di laboratorium maupun di rumah kaca dalam menekan tujuh isolat R. solani virulen yang juga dikoleksi dari berbagai tempat di Filipina.

Abstract

This study was conducted between January and May 2005 to explore effects of insecticides on the eggs of rice stem borer Scirpophaga insertulas Walker. This was done at the Lanrang experimental farm station and the laboratory of entomology and plant physiology of ICERI. There were four rice varieties used in he experiment (Gilirang, Cigeulis, Lok Ulo and Cibogo), each of which was observed in a 5 x 5 m observation plot.  Observation was done by collecting egg of rice stem borer on selected plant samples. The collected eggs were placed in test tubes, labeled, and brought to laboratory and the parasitoid found was examined under a light microscope. Results showed that for the four rice varieties tested, it was found three parasitoid species on S. incertulas egg i.e. Trichogramma japonicum Ashm., Telenomus rowani Gah., and Tetratichus schoenobi Ferr. Nevertheless, in one egg mass of S. incertulas, not all species of parasitoid found at the same time, sometimes T. japonicum with T. rowani, T. rowani with T. schoenobi, or T. japonicum with T. schoenobi. There was no direct effect insecticide application to parasitoid population.

Abstract

Objectives of this research were to measure effects of land use types and physical environmental condition toward level of erosion hazard as indicators on watershed management. Using survey and non experimental approaches, this research was conducted on September to December 2005. Applying quantitative model such us Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and stepwise regression procedure, it was found that on open land (with more than 15 % slope steepness) and plantation area (with more than 40 % slope steepness) were significantly increasing actual erosion to 4.005 t/ha/thn and 2.807 t/ha/thn.   Moreover erosion hazard index for open land was 99 t/ha/year and for plantation area was 81,78 t/ha/year in which categorized as medium level. Most of the land use types contributed the amount erosion more than tolerance level (34,33 t/ha/year – 44,67 t/ha/year). The influenece of open land  and  plantatation area variables on increasing erosion hazard were 3.39 and 0.592 times more than their unit areas respectively with determinan coeficien  (R2) was 0,88.

Abstract

This experiment was intended to study effects application time of bokashi cocoa pod husk and dosage of inorganic fertilizer mixture on the growth and yield of sweet corn.  The experiment employed a factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was two levels of the bokashi application time: two or one week before planting time. The second factor was three dosages of organic fertilizer:  133.3 kg/ha of urea + 100 kg/ha of SP-36 + 83.3 kg/ha of KCL, 266.6 kg/ha of urea + 200 kg/ha of SP-36 + 166.6 kg/ha of KCl, and 400 kg/ha of urea + 300 kg/ha of SP-36 + 250 kg/ha of KCl. Data were analyzed with honestly significant difference (HSD) at 5 % significant level. Results showed there was no interaction between the two factors in affecting the parameters observed. It showed that time application of bokashi cocoa pod husk significantly affected the length of corn cob, while the inorganic fertilizer significantly affected the weight of corn cob. Results of the HSD test indicated that the best corn cob length (22.96 cm) was obtained for one week bokashi application prior to planting with inorganic fertilizer of  400 kg/ha of urea + 300 kg/ha of SP-36 + 250 kg/ha of KCl.

Abstract

The research was carried at Powelua river basin in District of Donggala Sub  with an aim of studying the diversity and similarity index of vegetation in the region. The research employed a line plot sampling method of a square form. This was done tracing a straight line crossing the contour lines. Results indicated that the diversity index in both young and old secondary forests were high, with an index value (H’) of 2.9 and 3.0, respectively. The two secondary forests had no similarity at all stand levels which included tree, pole, seedling and ground cover levels.

Abstract

This experiment, done at Guntarano Village, North Palu from August to December 2004,  was intended to study the growth and yield responses of shallot crop to the application of animal manure as an organic fertilizer. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomised design with six levels of manure application, each of which was replicated three times. These treatments were without manure and with manure applied at 2 t/ha, 10 t/ha, 15 t/ha, 20 t/ha and 25 t/ha. Results showed that the highest shallot growth and yields were obtained when the manure was applied at 25 t/ha.

Abstract

The fish growth is influenced by the quality of food consumed. EM4 with difference doses (0, 5, 10, and 15 ml/kg diet) was carried out to investigate feed efficiency and the growth of nila gift. An experimental method based on completely randomized design in four replicates was used for 35 days. nila gifts with 12 – 18 g in body weight were used. Fishes were fed twice daily as much as 5% of their body weight and unfed one was taken an hour after feeding. The result showed that the differences of EM4 on diet did not affect feed efficiency and the growth of nila gift. However, EM4 suplementation on diet could increase its protein content.
