Abstract

The aims of developing this learning tool are to provide learning tools that enable teachers to apply valid, effective and effective problem based learning by using the model developed by S. Thiagarajan et al. The 4-D development model consists of 4 main stages: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Given the limitations of time, effort and cost, the learning device development model only goes to stage 3 of the 4-D model. Subjects in this study were students of class X MIA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung academic year 2017/2018. The data has been obtained and then analyzed using descriptive data analysis. Based on the analysis, the learning tools developed are an invalid category with an average score of 3.29. The observation result of learning device implementation has an average of 3.44 in the medium category and implemented and the response of learners more than 80% gives a positive response. While the assessment for students' learning outcomes shows the average value of Post-Test 81.7 and the N-Gain index 0.62 in the medium category. The results obtained can be concluded that the learning tools based on problem-based learning developed have met the category valid, practical and effective so it can be said feasible to use.Kata kunci: Pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, problem based learning

Abstract

Baturraden Tourism is a leading tourist attraction located at the foot of Mount Slamet (± 640 dpl), about 14 Km north of Purwokerto, Central Java. The location on the slope of the mountain causes the Baturraden area to be found in much mountainous flora and fauna. The utilization of  Baturraden Tourism in Education Program Based Local Excellence (PBKL) is integrated with biology subjects because biology based on standard content in the curriculum are included the subject of science with one essence in the form of development skills process. The initial phase of PBKL development is done by analyzing the local potential region and potential schools, developing a subject-specific pedagogic -based subject program, as well as the integration of the PBKL substance in SK-KD biology subjects as reflected in the developed learning indicators. Analysis of local potential and local potency is done by direct observation and interview. The development of subject-specific pedagogic is done with the development of learning models, learning modules, instructional media, and evaluation instruments based on local excellence. However, the utilization of the Beturraden in the PBKL program is integrated into SK-KD biology so it is expected that students will have excellent competencies such as: being able to utilize local advantage as a source of learning, developing and empowering local excellence as teaching materials and instructional media, applying knowledge in preservation of excellence local, and increase the sense of responsibility in maintaining local excellenceKata kunci: Lokawisata Baturraden, pengembangan, program penddidikan berbasis keunggulan lokal

Abstract

The aims of this study are enhancing the student's oral communication skills in basic science nursing courses. The method used was a Classroom Action Research. The research was conducted on program study nursing Science Universitas Tribhuwana Tunggadewi, Malang, Indonesia. The research subject was 38 students of class B at basic science nursing courses program study nursing Science in academic year 2016/2017. Data of students oral communication skills obtained through observation sheet. Teacher and students responses towards learning model could be known through the questionnaires and interviews. The result shows that there is an improvement of students oral communication skills. Teacher and students responded very well to the implementation of think pair share learning strategy in basic science nursing courses. The conclusion according to the result of the study are students oral communication skills can improve the implementation of think pair share learning strategy.Kata kunci: keterampilan komunikasi oral, partisipasi mahasiswa, think pair share

Abstract

Learning biology emphasizes providing direct learning experiences to develop science process skills that should ideally be studied scientifically. The problem underlying this study is the lack of science process skills and poor student learning outcomes. In an effort to overcome these researchers used a model of experiential learning to enhance the learning of science process skills and student learning outcomes, so that students are directly involved in discovering and understanding yourself. This study aims to improve science process skills and learning outcomes biology students using experiential learning model learning in class VIIA SMP Negeri 1 Aji building totaling 32 students. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 2 cycles each consisting of 3 sessions. Data science process skills acquired by students using observation sheet at each meeting, and student learning outcomes data obtained by giving a test at the end of each cycle. The results showed that: 1) the biology of learning using experiential learning model learning improve science process skills VIIA graders of SMP Negeri 1 Aji Building Academic Year 2012/2013 on materials Characteristics Being of Life. For the average percentage of students 'science process skills in pre-PTK by 24.19% after learning with experiential learning instructional model the average percentage of students' science process skills in the first cycle to the second cycle increased by 11.46% and has reached the target researchers that the percentage of 60% ≤ M ˂ 80% or higher qualification, 2) learning biology using experiential learning model learning improve student learning outcomes VIIA grade SMP Negeri 1 Aji Building Academic Year 2012/2013 on materials Characteristics Being of Life. Students who completed their study or exceed KKM  ≥65 on the pre-PTK by 25.81% after learning with experiential learning model learning of students who pass their learning on the first cycle to the second cycle increased by 9.37% and have achieved the target of researchers that students who study completed ≥ 75%.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran experiential learning, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar

Abstract

The aims of the research are to know the effectiveness of training inquiry model toward students’ scientific explanation ability. This research used the experimental method and was implemented by Marc until July 2016. The population of this research was all of 3 classes of the seventh semester and the sample of this research was established by stratified random sampling technique consisted of two classes, class VII B learned by guide inquiry learning and class VII A learned by training inquiry learning. The was data collected by test technique using essay test to measure scientific explanation ability. The hypotheses analyzed by ANAKOVA with SPSS 23. The result of this research was obtained significance value 0.00<0.05 meaning there was the significant difference of scientific explanation ability between the control group and experiment group. It means that training inquiry model effective toward students’ scientific explanation ability. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Know the effect of Learning Cycle 7E learning model toward student learning outcomes with the help of powerpoint media and LKS on X-class biodiversity material MIA in SMA Negeri 10 Palembang, (2) Knowing the difference between the learning outcomes using the model Learning Cycle 7E learning and Conventional learning. The research method used in the form of quasi-experiment (Quasi-experiment), using pretest-posttest group control design. The technique of collecting data by using test and observation sheet. The test is given before and after the treatment, while the observation sheet is given after the treatment. The data obtained were analyzed using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. T-test result paired sample t-test, followed by using formula omega and effect size d. While the results of t-test independent sample t-test, followed by using the formula effect size r. The subject of research is class X MIA at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang, sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The results obtained after using the t-test paired sample t-test, it is known that the significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means Learning Cycle 7E learning model affects the learning outcomes of students with a percentage of 86%. While the result of t-test independent sample t-test, it is known that the significance value of 0.000 <0,05, which means there is a difference of final result between class which uses Learning Cycle 7E learning model using the conventional method and have percentage equal to 74%.Kata kunci: hasil belajar siswa,  Learning Cycle 7E

Abstract

Heavy metals pollution cannot be avoided since there is an industrial and technological advancement. They have great potential to contaminate soil and water in the environment, while soil and water are the growth medium for food crops. This research aims to analyze nutrient content of kangkoong that are grown on chromium-contaminated media by magnesium controlling method. This research uses the experimental method by controlling magnesium on chromium-contaminated media for kangkoong. Based on the results of this study, the magnesium controlling method on chromium-contaminated media can affect protein, vitamin A, and vitamin C levels. The interaction between chromium contamination with magnesium controlling method only has a significant effect on protein level but no significant effect on vitamin A and vitamin C. This has been proven statistically with a two-way ANOVA test with a significance value < 0,05.Kata kunci: kangkung,  logam kromium, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Science Biology of Grade VIII students at Nusa Bakti Depok Junior School in the subchapter of the digestive system. The problem under investigation is the low learning outcomes of students in Biological science subjects. Cooperative learning makes a match is implemented as an alternative problem-solving. This action research was conducted on Class VII which totals all 66 people. This study uses a classroom action research consisting of experimental class and control class which is carried out with material subchapter of the digestive system. The results of the results of the evaluation of learning outcomes for the experimental class obtained an average value of 70.15 while the control class obtained an average value of 54.24. The experimental class higher the learning result value of 15.91. From the result of processing with Wilcoxon test, abstracted amount of negative ranks equal to 94 and positive ranks equal to 402. Furthermore at table of statistics test obtained price Z = -3, 025 and p-value = 0,002 <0,05 or H0 rejected. Thus, the method of make match influences the learning outcomes of the biology science in school. Based on the results of data analysis with spss 20 can be concluded that: (1) Learning outcomes with making a math method are higher than conventional methods. (2) The application of making a math method influences the learning outcomes of Science Biology in junior high. (3) The application of cooperative makes a match learning can improve the learning outcomes of Biology of VIII grade students of SMP Nusa Bakti Depok.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, make amatch, model pembelajaran kooperatif, penerapan

Abstract

Learning media is a tool to improve teaching and learning process to achieve better learning outcome. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The purpose of this research was 1) to know the types of biology learning media found in senior high school at Salatiga, 2) to analyze the application of media in the process of biology learning in senior high school at Salatiga, 3) to know the factors that influence the use of learning media in private senior high school at Salatiga. Techniques and data collection tools were questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were obtained from biology teachers and high school students in Salatiga. Data analysis techniques include the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that the complete type of learning media is learning media contained in school B, ie print media, visual, audio-visual, realia, game, electronic or computer. The highest of media type used by biology teacher printed media. According to the teacher, subjects that most need learning media are biotechnology, metabolism, plant growth, genetic material, heredity of Mendel, evolution, the origin of life, cell reproduction. Factors that influence media using were material difficulty level, media availability level, level of preparedness of student, time and number of students.Kata kunci: media pembelajaran biologi, sekolah menengah atas

Abstract

Tofu is so damaged that sellers know often add preservatives like formalin. Formalin toxic compounds are carcinogenic. Aloe vera and lemon juice are able to minimize the presence of formalin. This study aims to determine the effect of concentration and duration of immersion of aloe vera and lemon juices in reducing formalin.  Tofu used has been soaked formalin 1% then added aloe vera and lemon juice.  This experiment was conducted experimentally using Factorial Complete Random Design consisting of two factors, concentration of aloe vera with lemon juices 100%:0%, 80%:20%, 60%:40%, 40%:60%, 20%:80 %, 0%:100% and immersion time 30, 60, 90 (minutes) and Nonfactorial Completely Randomized Design, treatment for storage duration 0, 3, 6, 9 (days). The parameters are formalin (mg/kg), protein (%), and total microbial (log CFU/ml) levels. The samples were tested on the long treatment of storage, the largest decrease in formaldehyde. The results showed that the ratio of aloe vera and lemon juices and soaking time had a significant effect on formalin content (%), total microbial (log CFU/ml), and protein content (%). Levels of formaldehyde know that has been soaked formalin 1% amounting to 84,214 (mg/kg), the protein content of 3.8%, total microbial (log CFU/ml). The best treatment in the decrease of formalin content is 100% aloe vera juices with immersion 90 minutes, the remaining formalin is 28,678 (mg/kg) or decreases the formalin content in tofu by 65,94%. Aloe vera juice contains saponin compounds that act as surfactants that are capable of removing formaldehyde in tofu.Kata kunci: aloe vera, formalin, lemon, tahu.
