Abstract

Aedes sp mosquitoes as vectors of disease Dengue fever remains a serious health problem in Indonesia. This research is important to be studied because by knowing the abundance and activity of the mosquito bite would help in early warning and the work were done as a form of prevention / preventive direct contact with mosquitoes. The research was conducted in the Village Metro District of Metro Center on RT 09, RT 11 and RT 10. RT 12. Catching adult mosquitoes do 1 time per week in the month of April 2014 from the hours 06: 00-18: 00. The method used for catching mosquitoes is to use bait human foot (human landing) for 20 minutes. Results showed the peak activity occurred 2 times, ie at 09:00 to 9:55 and at 16:00 to 16:55 pm. Blood biting behavior of Aedes sp in Metro City is anthropophilic. Values for the relative abundance of fishing activity in the house (endofagik) of 7.28, while for fishing activities outside the home (eksofagik) 9.5.Kata Kunci: Aedes sp, anthropofilik, human baiting.

Abstract

This research was to now there was any influence of variant dose of lemongrass solvent toward the mortality of mosquitoes larvae Aedes sp,to know the solvent dose of lemongrass was the most effective to decrease mosquitoes larvae Aedes sp, to find out the potential results of the research as the learning source of biology at the eleventh grade of SMP in odd semester. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD or RAL) as the research design. Dependent Variable in this research was the mortality of Aedes sp larvae and the independent variable was the variation of lemongrass solvent (15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%). This research was done with giving the variation lemongrass solvent dose in a plastic glass. At that time the researcher filled ten larvae into the glass in every treatment with 5 replication and then counted how many larvae which have dead in 24 hours. The interval of the research was 2 hours. The data analysis was a non-parametric test of Wallis- Kruskal one-way. Based on the result of the observation during 24 hours toward the average mortality of Aedes sp larvae from the lowest up to the highest are the treatment 15% become 38, the treatment 20% into 52%, the treatment 25% turn out 66%, the treatment 30% become 86% and the last the treatment 35% increased in 98%. Based on analysis test result of Wallis Kruskal, the researcher got the coefficient H = x2 arithmetic 33,79% > x2 table 19,67 on α 0,05. It means that there was an influence lemongrass solvent variation toward the mortality of Aedes sp larvae. The content of lemongrass solvent dose 35% was the best and it has the biggest influence to decrease the mortality of Aedes sp larvae. The result of this research can be used as the biology learning source at the eighth grade of junior high school in odd semester then it is suitable for the sub-material of metamorphosis in animals.Kata Kunci: tumbuhan pewarna alami, Worksheet Students

Abstract

Learning should be able to develop the skills of students. One of the skills that can be developed is the science process skills. This study aims to determine how the science process skills that exist in practical based learning. This study is a qualitative research and using descriptive analysis. The results showed that in the course of learning lab plant morphology was found that the emerging science process skills are to observe, communicate and ask questions, while the process in the form of interpreting skills, reasoning, and grading (classification) does not appear.Kata Kunci: practical based learning, science process skills

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know the influence of Contextual Teaching and Learning method to the ability of students’ creative thinking and to know where is more effective between Contextual Teaching and Learning method and conventional method in students’ creative thinking. This research takes place in SMA N 1 Bangunrejo on 18-25 January 2014. This research type is experimental research, the technique of sampling is cluster random sampling, the researcher took the sample from 7 class, it will take two classes as the sample randomly by shaking them, those two classes are X2 as the experiment group and X5 as the control group, and each class consists of 33 students. The data got through test and observation, the technique of analyzing data used t-test with α 0,05 and 0,01. Based on the research result, it can conclude that “the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning  method is influence in students’ creative thinking often grade of SMA N 1 Bangunrejo in academic year 2013/2014 and students’ creative thinking with Contextual Teaching and Learning method is higher than conventional method” Kata Kunci: berpikir kreatif,  contextual teaching and learning

Abstract

This research aims to develop a biology practical guidance based on the  scientific approach  for senior high schools at the eleventh grades students. There are three stages of development was conducted in developing practical guidance based on the scientific approach, it is defining, planning, and development. This instructions lab-based on the scientific approach is tested for feasibility by the experts and got an average score of 86.49% in the excellent category. Besides practical guidance based on the scientific approach was also tested to the students in public and private schools. The students test in public schools get an average  of 87.11% in the excellent category and in private schools get an average of 85.71% in the excellent category. Hopefully the teachers and the students utilizing a biology practical guidance on the scientific approach as a guide that can helps in the lab activitiesKata Kunci: petunjuk praktikum, pendekatan ilmiah (scientific approach)

Abstract

This study through 3 phases: definition, design phase and development phase. Definition and design phase starts from the formulation of the problem until the formation of the PPP-based worksheets. The development phase includes three steps, namely validation by expert teachers and 2 professors, product revision, and product testing. Validation is d one by experts didaktif test, technical test, and test construction. In each test showed the percentage of ≥ 90% with a very high category. Results of product testing data obtained legibility worksheets that get a percentage of ≥ 72% in each of the indicators with high ≥ categories. student activity sheet feasibility level percentage obtained by ≥ 70% in each category indicator with ≥ high. Abstract

Tempeh is one of the original Indonesian fermented foods that have been recognized by the world. Tempeh is made by fermentation using the fungus Rhizopus Sp. Raw materials used in this research that waste durian seeds (Durio zibethinus). The purpose of this study were 1) To determine the effect of fermentation time on the levels of protein produced. 2) To determine the best fermentation time resulted in the highest protein content in soybean seeds of durian.Place tempeh manufacturing is done in the Village of East Lampung Banjarrejo 38 B, a protein analysis carried out in the Laboratory Polytechnic Bandar Lampung on November 23th 2013, whereas organoleptic tests carried out in the Laboratory of Integrated Science Education, University of Muhammadiyah Metro. Research design used was completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications of the entire population of tempeh durians and parameter measured is the rate of crude protein and tempeh organoleptick durians. The method used to measure the protein content of soybean seeds durian is the Gunning method and organoleptic test durian seed tempeh which include color, odor, texture, taste, and acceptance of soybean seed durian. The number of panelists used is 25 people.Data results obtained protein levels were tested by analysis of variance followed by testing Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) significance level of 5% and 1%. Research data shows that there is a very significant influence on the fermentation time the protein content soybean seeds of durian (Durio zibethinus). The results showed a second treatment with fermentation time of 48 hours has the highest protein content of 3,3748%. The benefits of making tempeh durian seed research are: the lecturer can be used as a learning resource in the study of the biology of food biotechnology, the community can be used as a guide in making tempeh and nutritional content to know the community, and can be used as ingredients in research-related information.Kata Kunci: kadar protein, waktu fermentasi, tempe biji durian

Abstract

Worksheet Students serve as guides learners and also allows learners and teachers to conduct classes. Worksheet Students drafting high school biology on biodiversity, through the inventory of plants that could potentially or as a natural staining in the citys Metro is very important to provide information and interesting and more contextual with the situation, the condition of school or social environment of students in the citys Metro. The aim of research in preparation Worksheet-based Scientific Approach Students are expected later able to become one of the means to improve students understanding of and ability to think on the matter of biodiversity.Potential plant species or as a natural staining in Metro city found as many as 52 species were planted scattered in various districts. Society in general, grow crops and use natural staining for coloring food. The parts used are the roots, stems, leaves and flowers. Usually, these natural staining can be obtained from plants that have bright colors and typical of these plants. Abstract

Organic fertilizer production with the use of coconut fiber to improve the quality of organic fertilizer has been done. This study aims to determine the increase in the quality of organic fertilizer pulp by utilizing coconut fibers in increasing the porosity of raw materials. Utilizing combination EM4 bioindicator and Starbio bioindicator to improve the process of decomposition of organic matter are applied in this research. This research use experiment method by comparing the quality of the fertilizer from tofu dregs only with the quality of the fertilizer tofu dregs that is adding by massa variations of coconut fibers. Bioindikator combination of EM4 and starbio also studied in this research. The result of this research showed that by using 7.5 grams of coconut fibers can increase the organic matter decomposition process. Combination of EM4 bioindicator and Stabio bioindicator also can increase decomposition process so the percentage of organic material in the organic fertilizer are on the threshold by SNI, namely 54,72%.Kata Kunci: ampas tahu, fermentasi, pupuk, serabut kelapa

Abstract

This present study aimed to implement logbook on Media Pembelajaran subject to assess the group performance. Questionnaire were used to collect the data. Qualitative analysis  showed that using logbook is effective for assess the performance of group. The result also showed the students who contribute to the group and how they work. We can conclude that  assessing of group performance by using logbook is effective and recommended for other subject to use it. Combining the logbook instrument and learning instructional would be suggested.Kata Kunci: logbook, learning instrument, group performance assessment
