Abstract

The development of agroforestry based of Sengon Laut with Porang crop area has successfully to increase people economic level. This research aimed to analyze and compare diversity, composition, structure community of canopy Arthropod at two different location (Sengon Laut of Porang crop area and non porang crop area) which was attracted to blue and yellow colored water pan trap,  vertical variation diversity, abundance, and structure community of canopy Arthropod, to know the relation between community of Arthropod canopy with abiotic factor at local agroforestry and to recommend good cultivating management. Samples of canopy Arthropod was taken at two different location by blue and yellow colored water pan trap, which was hang on bottom layer (1-1,5 m) and upper layer (8-10 m). Abiotic factors (Temperature and light intensity) were measured at each location. Non crop vegetation was analyzed by line intercept method and tree vegetation was analyzed by complete count method. Data of structure community comparison each location was analyzed by important value and diversity (Index Shannon-Whienner). The degree of same level composition between two location was analyzed by Index Bray-Curtis and variation vertical analyzed by anova. Canopy Arthropod composition and relation with abiotic factors was analyzed by Pearson Correlation with MINITAP program. The value abundance of canopy Arthropod in Porang crop area was (329 individu), fewer than canopy Arthropod in non Porang crop area which was (829 individu). The result showed that yellow water pan trap had better efficiency on upper layer at non Porang crop area than porang crop area. Recommendation to the farmers in order to make good cultivation management non crop vegetation is not cleaned and not used pesticide utilization. Kata kunci:  Arthropoda kanopi, faktor abiotik,  stabilitas ekosistem, sengon laut, budidaya porang

Abstract

The aim of the research to implement of worksheet word square with laboratory practice are to improve  study result of  student in grade VIII at MTs Al-Asror  year education  2011/2012 the subject matter  living systems of plants. The method in this research  was classroom  action research and  the subjeck of research is student at VIII MTS Al-Asror. The research indicated that more than 75 % student can finish the examinition. The data gaided by observation and  tes technique, and then  analysed  by using discriptif data analysed technique. The result of the analysis, showed  that  aim of worksheet word square with laboratory practice  are to increase the study result of student. Kata Kunci: model word square, praktik laboratorium, hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Research on the distribution and colony size of nests of Nasutitermes sp. (Isoptera: Termitidae) have been conducted in Sebesi Island, Lampung. The method used in this study is a direct observation on the northern coast Sebesi Island. The results showed there were 60 nests of termite Nasutitermes sp. on the nine hosted tree species, i.e. Spandias sp., Leucaena leucocephala, Cocos nucifera, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Moringa oleifera, Rhizophora apiculata, Delonix regia, Pandanus sp., and Morinda citrifolia. These termite nests vary in size. Direct counting on two nests indicates that colony size of Nasutitermes sp. on the nest sized 0.00828 m3 were 20,192 individuals and on the nest sized 0.1756 m3 were 35,086 individuals.The result of the the research gives contribution source of learning material in biology learning. Kata Kunci: Nasutitermes sp, rayap pohon, sebaran, ukuran sarang

Abstract

α-terpineol is a compound of the class of  terpenoid  alcohols  derived  from natural  materials, α-terpineol can be synthesized from  α-pinene  from  turpentin content of extracts derived  from  the sap of  pine  trees  (Pinus merkusii). α-terpineol has been reported as a natural compound that has potential as anticancer agent. Objectives of research:  In general, to assess the activity of α- terpineol  compounds  against  HeLa  cells  and  the   possible  mechanism,  whereas  specifically  assessing  cytotoxic  activity. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study using post-test only with non-equivalent control group design.  This study was conducted on HeLa cells by administering α-terpineol. Observations  cytotoxic   activity assay was performed using MTT assay method. Results: α -terpineol was cytotoxic against HeLa cells with IC50 of 12,46 μg/mL, therefore this compound was a potential anticancer   Kata kunci :  α-terpineol, sitotoksik, HeLa, kanker leher rahim

Abstract

in general, method of inquiry guide can increasing the capability of metakognitive and result of students. metacognition is thinking about thinking. Metacognition goes beyond thinking (meta+cognition) in that it is the active awareness and knowledge of one’s own thinking processes. Metacognitive skill are sometimes refered to as “self direction skills. Metacognitive could be different between the high and low student. This result showe in research to class ten of three grade student of senior high school in PGRI Punggur. The result showed so that using inquiry guide-metacognitive to the aspect of self-planning with activity formulate problem and formulate guess while with score applying 66,78, aspect self-monitoring with activity collect information and testing guess while with score applying 61,10, and aspect self evaluating with activity conclude and summary with score applying 71,37. Kata kunci: Guide Inquiry, kemampuan Metakognisi, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) develop students science process skills class X2 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. 2) enhance students cognitive learning outcomes X2 class SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro. Subjects in this study were students SMA Muhammadiyah 1 X2-class Metro Lesson Year 2011/2012 on the subject matter of the world of plants (Plantae). The study was conducted on February 1 until March 7, 2012 to be implemented in two cycles. Each cycle of meetings held 3 times. The conclusion of the research are there was an increase from cycle I to cycle II . While the cognitive learning outcomes of students has increased from pre-PTK into the second cycle. In the pre-PTK is increased 60.6% to 65.3% in cycle I, and from cycle I is 65.3% increased to 77.2% in cycle II. Based on data from the study of learning with model-based learning environment to develop science process skills and improve cognitive learning outcomes in students, researchers therefore suggest to teachers to implement this model in the study of biological science. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar kognitif

Abstract

Extracellular lipase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis reaction of triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol and synthesis reaction of esters. Lipase can be produced by microbes include bacteria, fungi and yeasts. Lipase by Aspergillus niger 65I6 produced in the medium of Jatropha cake using solid-state fermentation has a different character of the lipase produced by other microorganisms. The aims of this research were to determine the optimum condition partially purified lipase by Aspergillus niger 65I6. The methods of this research were conducted in 2 steps: (1) production of lipase, (2) partial purification using ion exchange chromatography, (3) SDS-PAGE. The results of this research showed that partial purification lipase by Aspergillus niger 65I6 using anion exchange chromatography esterification activity of 45.58 U/ml with specific activity of 421.97 U/mg adsorbed at pH 8 and 0.5 M NaCl elution. Partially purified lipase by Aspergillus niger 65I6 was 86.11% yield and purification factor 12,12 and a molecular mass of Lipase by Aspergillus niger at 19 kDa estimated by SDS-PAGE. Found of this research can be explained for the development study of microbiology concept and practical contribution about procedure research simple design. Students understand about technique and condition of partial purification.  Kata kunci:         Lipase, Aspergillus niger, Solid-State Fermentation, Purifikasi, SDS-PAGE

Abstract

An action research, with the implementation of lesson study in numbered heads together method combined with team games tournament method for character development, the increasing of learning activity, motivation, and the students’ learning achievement in biology at SMA Negeri 1 Kepanjen, is done with the purpose to develop the character of the students in learning biology. The implementation of Numbered Heads Together is combined with Team Games Tournament and it can develop students’ characters. The indicator of friendship has increased until 5.07% from cycle I to cycle II and has increased again in cycle III as much as 17.51%. The indicator of discipline has increased until 4.03% from cycle I to cycle II and has increased again in cycle III as much as 13.13%. The indicator of work hard has increased until 8.69% from cycle I to cycle II and has increased again in cycle III as much as 10.48%. The indicator of students’ independent has increased until 9.67% from cycle I to cycle II and has increased again in cycle III as much as 9.79%. Kata kunci: Lesson study, Numbered Heads Together, Team Games Tournament, Karakter Siswa

Abstract

The biology learning emphasizes providing learning experiences directly, ideally be studied scientifically so that the students are directly involved in finding his own understanding. Lack of science process skills students low trigger. The purpose of this research is to improve science process skills and the results of biological studies using guided inquiry method with LKS in X.2 graders SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Metro, amounting to 22 students. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles each consisting of three sessions. Science process skills of students has increased from cycle I to cycle II of 11.1% for the skills of observation, 9% for classifying skills, communicating skills 9.1% to 13.2% for the skill and conclude. Data on students pre-PTK into the cycle I increased 13.61% and 18.2% in cycle II. From the results of these studies suggest that the teacher researchers to apply these methods in teaching science, especially biology. Kata Kunci: inkuiri terbimbing disertai LKS, keterampilan proses sains,  hasil belajar.
