Board Diversity and Dividend Payout Ratio: Evidence from Family Firms in Indonesia

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Board of Commissioners (BoC) diversity on dividend payments in the listed family firms in Indonesia. This study uses diversity for gender, nationality and tenure to describe the board of commissioners diversity. Using a data set of listed family firms in Indonesia Stock Exchange over the period 2012-2016, we find evidence indicating that board gender diversity is positively related to dividend payments. Secondly, we find evidence that board tenure diversity is positively related to dividend payments. However, the board nationality diversity does not remain significant on dividend payments.

Abstract

This study investigates factors influencing online purchase decision making in city of Makassar. The factors suspected to have an effect on buying decision (dependent variable) include cultural, social, personal and psychological factors (independent variable). For that, the questionnaire was filled by no less than 100 randomly selected samples. Respondents replied with a likert scaled list of statements associated with the variables studied. The results of quantitative analysis indicate that cultural, social, personality and psychological factors have a positive and significant influence on online purchasing decisions either simultaneously or partially. The most dominant variables affecting online purchasing decisions are social factors.

Abstract

The performance of MSMEs in general varies considerably from year to year. The role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Indonesian economy is demonstrated by its population as the largest business actor, as well as its contribution in employment, the formation of gross domestic product (GDP), exports and the creation of fixed capital / investment. The problem is then divided into several sub-problems of research on whether the variable of business capital, market orientation, and entrepreneurship orientation affect the performance of SMEs Makassar City. The total population of 123 registered and not registered businesses of SMEs Makassar. Data was then analysed using multiple linear regression. The results of the research are that there is positive influence of the three variables on the performance of SMEs of Makassar City simultaneously, and also positive effect when tested partially.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of appreciation on affective commitment with perceived organizational support as intervening variable at the Airport Taxi Cooperative (KOPSIDARA) Sultan Hasanuddin. So the purpose of this study are: 1) To determine the effect of respect for affective commitment. 2) To determine the effect of rewards on perceived organizational support. 3) To determine the effect of perceived organizational support on affective commitment. 4) To determine the effect of respect for affective commitment through perceived organizational support. This research was conducted at Airport Taxi Cooperative (KOPSIDARA) Sultan Hasanuddin. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis using model test technique (path analysis). The results of this study indicate that: 1) Awards (X) have a positive and significant effect on Affective Commitment (Y). 2) Appreciation (X) has a positive and significant influence on Perceived Organizational Support (Z). 3) Perceived Organizational Support (Z) has a positive and significant influence on Affective Commitment (Y). 4) Perceived Organizational Support (Z) mediates Award (X) has a positive and significant impact on Affective Commitment (Y).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of cultural, social, personal, and psychological on consumer decision in visiting the Malino Highland, Gowa. The population were the visitors of Malino Highland, and sampling technique used purposive sampling, which are the people who visited Malino Highland. A questionnaire was deployed to collect the primary data. The number of respondents that meet the sampling criterion was determined by 150 visitors. The data was measured by multiple regression analysis with the assistant of SPSS software. The results shows that the cultural, social, personal, and psychologal affect simultaneously and partially towards the visitors decision to visit the Malino Highland, Gowa. Psychological variable is the most dominant effect with the value of 0.330. This founding is important for marketing strategy ecotourism to maximizing the value creation to the consumers.

Abstract

This research aims to know and analyze influence of work environment and organizational culture on job satisfaction and performance of lecturers at UIN ALauddin Macassar. This research uses a explanatory research method, and the population is all the lecturers at UIN ALauddin Macassar. Samples in drag with saturated sample method wich are 65 people. Data analysis was done using structural equation model Structural Equation Modeling or (SEM). Results of the analysis show that the work environment and organizational culture influential positive and significant to job satisfaction and performance of lecturers.

Abstract

This study wanted to know the factors that are determinant of satisfaction in order to form customer loyalty PT BTN Ambon Branch. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of service quality factor, trust, customer value, product superiority, corporate image to satisfaction and customer loyalty of PT BTN Ambon Branch. This research was conducted at PT. BTN Ambon Branch. Data analysis using path analysis to know the influence of independent variable to dependent variable, either directly or indirectly. The results of this study indicate that service quality (X1), trust (X2), customer value (X3), Product Superiority (X4), and Corporate Image (X5) affect satisfaction (Y1) and customer loyalty (Y2), either directly or indirectly directly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that become determinants of employee performance of PT Bank Maluku and North Maluku Ambon Branch. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 103 employees of PT Bank Maluku and North Maluku Ambon Branch. The data collected was further processed and calculated using SPSS 21 and then analyzed using descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results show that compensation has a positive and significant influence both directly and indirectly on job satisfaction and employee performance. In addition, work motivation also has a positive and significant influence either directly or indirectly on job satisfaction and employee performance. Similarly, the work environment has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction and employee performance either directly or indirectly. And job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Furthermore, the results of this study recommend that in order to form job satisfaction and performance of employees, it is suggested that the management of PT Bank Maluku North Maluku should always pay attention to the compensation, both financial and non-financial, motivation of work, both intrinsic as well as extrinsic, and the creation of a good and conducive internal working environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of savings product factors, interest rates, location, promotion and bank services to customers in choosing TAMPAN at PT. Bank Sulselbar, Tbk Main Branch of Makassar. The research data was collected using questionnaires which distributed to 100 customers of PT Bank Sulselbar, Tbk Makassar Main Branch. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate the influence of savings products, interest rates, location, promotion and service affect the customer in choosing TAMPAN at PT. Bank Sulselbar, Tbk Main Branch of Makassar. This means that marketers, in this case PT Bank Sulselbar, Tbk Makassar Branches should need to consider these five things in marketing their savings products.

Abstract

Pada dasarnya semua perusahaan harus dihadapkan dengan modal yang akan menentukan keberlanjutan hidup perusahaannya, modal ini dapat diperoleh apabila sang investor tertarik untuk  berinvestasi pada perusahaan, salah satu cara agar investor tertarik pada perusahaan  dapat dilihat dari nilai perusahaannya. Nilai perusahaan merupakan persepsi investor terhadap tingkat keberhasilan perusahaan yang sering dikaitkan dengan Harga saham. Harga saham yang tinggi membuat nilai perusahaan juga tinggi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dari 3 komponen yaitu corporate social responsibility, Ukuran Perusahaan dan Interest Based Debt terhadap Nilai Perusahaan pada perusahaan manufaktur yang Terdaftar  di  Jakarta Islamic Index. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu corporate social responsibility,Ukuran Perusahaan dan Intrest Based Debt sebagai variabel independen serta Nilai Perusahaan sebagai Variabel Dependen.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu data sekunder yang diperoleh dari JII. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian sebanyak 7 perusahaan manufaktur. Metode pemilihan sampel yang digunakan yaitu metode nonprobabilitas yaitu purposive sampling yang merupakan teknik pengambilan sampel berdasarkan kriteria tertentu yang ditentukan oleh peneliti. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu regresi linear berganda.Hasil dari pengujian hipotesis didalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa CSR berpengaruh positif dan signifikan pada Nilai Perusahaan, ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan,  sedangkan Interest Based Debt berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan
