Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters.  The population of this research was students in XI science grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro odd semester academic year 2013-2014.  The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and these were XI 1 and XI 2 of science grade.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between control and experiment class.  The result showed that the average n-gain of student’s elaboration skills of control was 0,271 and 0,512 for experiment class.  The result of hypothesis testing showed that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,271 dan kelas eksperimen 0,512.  Hasi pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci:  kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, model discovery learning

Abstract

The purpose of research was to find out the mastering comparison of thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model at MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  The population in this research is all of XI grade science students in academic year 2012/2013.  Samples  was taken by using purvosive sampling technique.  We got class XI IPA1 as a class experiment 1 and XI IPA2 as a class experiment  2.  This research used non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  The result of this research showed that there is a difference in score average of mastering thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model.  The average of thermochemical concept mastering by implementing learning cycle 6 phase model is higher than learning cycle 3 phase model, because learning cycle 6 phase model has more detail steps to improve the thermochemical concept mastering.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase pada siswa MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  Populasi dalam penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA tahun ajaran 2012/2013.  Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Diperoleh kelas XI IPA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI IPA2 sebgai kelas eksperimen II.  Penelitian menggunakan rancangan non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  Hasil dari penelitian terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase dan rata-rata penguasaan konsep termokimia dengan model learning cycle 6 phase lebih tinggi dibandingkan model learning cycle 3 phase.  Hal ini karena model learning cycle 6 phase memiliki tahap-tahap lebih terperinci dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep termokimia.     Kata kunci :   model learning cycle 3 phase, model learning cycle 6 phase, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the existence of hydrocarbon material difference between the mastery of concepts Cooperative Learning with NHT type and TPS type MAN Pringsewu students and (2) the average mastery of concepts which higher hydrocarbons between Cooperative Learning with NHT type and TPS type. The population in this study were all students of class X MAN Pringsewu academic year 2011/2012. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. Retrieved class X. 2 as a class experiment I conducted NHT cooperative learning model type, and class X. 4 as a class II experiments conducted cooperative learning model TPS type. The research design using a design-Only Matching Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Analysis of data using normality test, homogeneity of the two variances, and differences in the two trials showed average. The results showed (1) There is a difference between students mastery of concepts Hydrocarbons who received NHT and Cooperative Learning TPS type. (2) Average Hydrocarbon between student mastery of concepts that use Cooperative Learning TPS type higher than students who use learning NHT type. Abstract

The aimed of research was to describe the increase of communicating skills and mastery of concept on acid-base material on Learning Cycle 5E model.  Quasi experimental method was used in this research, with Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  The population of this research was students of XI science SMAN 1 Kotaagung, Tanggamus, with XI science 1 class and XI science 2 class as samples.  The increase of communicating skills and mastery of concept measured base on the difference of a significant normalized gain (n-Gain).  The results show that mean value of n-Gain communicating skills in experimental class and control class ware 0.81 and 0.71;  and mean value of n-Gain mastery of concept in experimental class and control class ware 0.68 and 0.45.  Based on hypotesis testing used t-test, it was conclude that Learning Cycle 5E model could increase communicating skills and mastery of concept.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan mengkomunikasi-kan dan penguasaan konsep pada materi asam-basa melalui model Learning Cycle 5E.  Pe-nelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Kotaagung, Tanggamus dengan kelas XI IPA1 dan kelas XI IPA2 sebagai sampel.  Peningkat-an keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengkomunikasikan untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,81 dan 0,71; serta re-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,68 dan 0,45.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, didapat kesimpulan bahwa model Learning Cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep.Kata kunci:  keterampilan mengkomunikasikan, model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

 Chemistry’s phenomena can explained by multiple representation, they are macroscopis, symbolis, and submicroscopis dimention. Based on the fact, submicroscopis dimention is often diserted, especially when teach acid-base material because it is difficult to learn.  According to this case, teachers need the media for delivering material of chemistry. The research aim is resulting animation media of Arrhenius acid-base material based on multiple representation.This research used research and development (R & D) method by Gall, Gall and Borg in Putra (2012). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. They are needs analysis step, consist of literature study and field study, planning and developing product step, consist of planning product, developing product,validation, and revision product, and the last is field test step, whose test of the product then revision the product based on result of test.Result of this research was animation media of Arrhenius acid-base material based on multiple representation which have characteristics: 1) displaying science material of Arrhenius acid-base which be explained by multiple representation, 2) it has parts consist of opening, instructional, competence standard, basic competence, indicators of product cognitive, subject of acid-base solution, subject of indicators acid-base, subject of Arrhenius acid-base, subject of pH, and profile button, 3) the contents suitability aspect has high score that is 80% according to validator judgement and 80% according to teacher judgement, and also have the highest level in isteresting aspect that is 83.45% according students judgement.Key words :  animation media, multiple representation, Arrhenius acid-base

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the  skills grouping and inference on any material oxidation-reduction with a model of the problem solving, for a group of high of medium and low.  The subjects were students of class X4 SMAN 4 Kotabumi. This research used the pre-experimental method, a one-shot case study design, and analysis of data statistics descriptive. An research results of analysis learning matter oxidation-reduction with model of the problem solving show that high skill grouping obtained a group of 50%  were excellent, 50% were good; to a group being 20% were excellent, 53% were good, and 27% were enough; in the group of low 11% were excellent, 11% were good, 45% were enough and 33% were less.  In skill inference obtained a group of high 83% were excellent, 17% were good; to a group being, 20% were excellent, 47% were good, and 33% were enough; in the group of low, 33% were good, 45% were enough, and 22% were less. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi pada materi oksidasi-reduksi dengan model pembelajaran problem solving untuk kelompok siswa kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X4  SMAN 4 Kotabumi.  Penelitian ini menggu­na­kan metode pre-eksperimen, desain one shot case study, dan analisis data statistik deskrip­tif.  Hasil penelitian analisis pembelajaran materi oksidasi-reduksi dengan model pembelajaran problem solving menun­juk­kan bahwa keterampilan mengelompokkan diperoleh kelompok tinggi 50% berkriteria sangat baik, 50% baik; ke­lom­pok sedang 20% sangat baik, 53% baik dan 27% cukup; kelompok rendah 11% sangat baik, 11% baik, 45% cukup, dan 33% kurang.  Pada keterampilan inferensi diperoleh kelom­pok tinggi 83% berkriteria sangat baik, 17% baik; kelompok sedang 20% sangat baik, 47% baik, dan 33% cukup; kelompok rendah 33% baik, 45% cukup, dan 22% kurang. Kata kunci: problem solving, kelompok kognitif, keterampilan mengelompokkan, keterampilan inferensi, oksidasi-reduksi

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of Learning Cycle 6E model to improve inferring skill and koloid concept mastery. This reseach uses Quasi Experimental Method and Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was students of XI science SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung, with XI science 2 class and XI science 4 as samples. The effectiveness of Learning Cycle 6E model was measured based on the difference of a significant N-gain and t test. The results showed that average value of N-gain of concept mastery in experiment and control class were 0.73 and 0.58 respectively; and average value of N-gain for inferring skill in experiment and control class were 0.75 and 0.56 respectively.  Based on t test, it was concluded that learning cycle 6E model could increase inferring skill and koloid concept mastery.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model Learning Cycle 6E dalam meningkatkan keterampilan inferensi dan penguasaan konsep koloid. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung, dengan kelas XI IPA2 dan kelas XI IPA4 sebagai sampel. Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe effectiveness of advance organizer learning model to improving skills of defining and taking conclusion skill on the matter of  solubility and solubility product. The subject in this research were students in classroom XI IPA3 SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung. This research used a pre-experiment method with One Group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of advance organizer learning model was measured by the n-gain average. The research results showed that the average of n-gain values of skills in defining and drawing conclusions were 0.48 (middle category) and 0.54 (middle ca-tegory) respectively. This shows that (1) a model of advance organizer is effective to enhance the skill of defining in the medium category (2) a model of advance organizeris effective to enhance the skill of taking conclusion in the medium category.Keywords: advance organizer, skills in defining and taking conclusion

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of the problem solving  learning model on the reaction rate concept in improving induces skill and consider the results of induction which includes  conclude accordance with the facts skill and conclude the results of investigate. The effectiveness of problem solving is measured on the difference n-Gain that significantly between experiment class and control classes.This Research using  a quasi experiment method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The population in this research is all of the  students class XI IPA of SMAN 7 Bandar Lampungin odd semester in the year of 2012-2013. The results showed that the problem solving model learning is effective increases conclude according the facts skill and conclude from the results investigate in the reaction rate concept.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving pada materi laju reaksi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginduksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi yang meliputi keterampilan menarik kesimpulan sesuai fakta dan menarik kesimpulan dari hasil menyelidiki.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur dengan per-bedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan  nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pemilihan sampel yang digunakan yaitu teknik purposive sampling. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 7 Bandar Lampung semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2012-2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model problem solvingefektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginduksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi yang meliputi keterampilan menarik kesimpulan sesuai fakta dan menarik kesimpulan dari hasil menyelidiki pada materi laju reaksi.Kata kunci : keterampilan menginduksi, laju reaksi, model pembelajaran problem  solving

Abstract

Chemistry is one of knowledges that learn abstract phenomena. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop module of multiple representation based on the chemical reaction rate material.Method used on this research is research and development (R & D) according to Sugiyono (2008). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis that consist of literature study and field study, step 2nd ) planning and development that consist of planning preliminary product, develop preliminary product,validation, and preliminary product revision, step 3th) preliminary field test, and main product revision.            Results of this research is development module of reaction rate based on multiple representations  which have characteristic: 1) module refers to the SK and KD, 2) material packaged in units of learning activities, modules arranged in a systematic and attractive, giving rise to interest in reading to students, 3) the material presented in the modules developed chemical, described by multiple representations, 4) accompanied by examples and illustrations that support the material, 5) the language used is simple and communicative, 6) have level of contents suitability is very high that is 91,67 % and have level of aspects graph 94,00 % according to teacher, also have high level of legibilityt is very high that is 90,98% according students. Key words :  module, multiple representation, the chemical reaction rate material
