Abstract

Indonesia receives solar energy with an average daily energy radiation per unit area per unit time of approximately 4.8 kilowatts / m2. Solar energy is one of the abundant, pollution-free, renewable energy sources and can be explored optimally. In the use of solar energy, it is necessary to develop a technology that is able to convert solar energy into the desired energy, namely electricity. The supply of electrical energy during the day can still be controlled by the solar cell, while at night it is controlled by a battery of 3600 mAH. This technology is known as solar cell or in the international world better known as solar cell or photovoltaic. Solar cell is a tool to convert solar energy into electrical energy. Photovoltaic is a technology that functions to convert or convert solar radiation into electrical energy directly.Rotary dryer is a dryer which is shaped as a drum and rotates continuously which is heated by a heater. A rotary dryer consists of a rotating cylinder and is used to reduce or minimize moisture in the contents of the material and its handling is direct contact with the heat in the drying chamber. The design of the rotary dryer system for the drying process of tea leaves requires a setting temperature of 90oC with a drying time of 15-25 minutes. The energy needed to supply power in the rotary dryer is 1000 WH. Keywords: Solar Cell, Rotary Dryer, Photovoltaic.

Abstract

Article 33 in 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia is the essence of strategic industry operative. Consistent with supply chain management (SCM), the objective is to fulfil costumer value. Therefore, SCM performance measurement become significant. The current measurement was not developed from the article 33. This research objectives are to study the current measurement framework and to discover research gap to develop measurement framework suitable for strategic industry in Indonesia. The method used in this research is systematic literature review. This study found that there is no performance measurement that developed upon article 33. Further performance measurement development is crucial to accommodate article 33 and grounded theory is promising for such work.

Abstract

A signature has become an important human attribute, which can represent personal information. Human signatures are widely used to authorize documents, both paper-based as well as electronic-based ones.  However, such authorization still poses various privacy issues, such as signature duplication and forgeries. These may not be easy to be addressed, particularly when involving many documents. Hence, advanced procedures are required to verify the signature authenticity. In this paper, we propose a new method for automatic signature verification based on the digitalized signature images. The method comprises successive image processing techniques, such as cropping, resizing, gray-scaling and thresholding. The binary images as the results of thresholding serve as the features of the signatures and are used to train a single layer Perceptron neural network. The experiment in this paper uses 42 digitalized signatures images, collected from two subjects. The obtained images are divided into the training and testing sets, in which the training and testing sets comprise 14 and 28 images, respectively. In the experiment, the proposed method produces the average training and testing accuracies of 100% and 98.85%, respectively. These indicate that the proposed method is reliable for practical applications.

Abstract

The Boiler is one of the equipment in the steam power plant which their reliability will be decreased by annually. Boiler degradation can be observed by the decreasing value of boiler efficiency every year. To maintain the efficiency it is necessary to know the main cause of degradation factors. PLTU Tanjung Jati B Unit 3 and 4 using pulverized coal fired boilers with forced circulation and sub-critical pressure type, the steam capacity is 2x2280 tons / hour to generate electrical energy of 2x660 MW.Boiler Efficiency is calculated by indirect method with uncertainty rate (0.4% -0.8%) in every boiler heat loss. The highest efficiency of boiler Unit 3 was achieved during Commercial Operation Date (COD) in 2011 with 89.71%, while Unit 4 achieved on the 2nd test performance in 2013 with 89.61%. The lowest boiler efficiency value for Unit 3 on the 9th performance test in 2016 with 88,36%, and Unit 4 was on 9th performance test in 2016 with to 87,48%. The degradation of Unit 3 boiler efficiency during 6 years is 1.35% or 0.225% per year. While the degradation of Unit 4 boiler efficiency during 6 years is 2.13% or 0.355% per year. The major of boiler heat loss were from exhaust gas (L1), moisture content of burning hydrogen in fuel (L3) and heat loss due to the moisture in the fuel (L2). The main factors losses in boiler is caused by ash deposits in the economizer area, it make inhibition of heat transfer from (flue gas) to economizer tube, the others from the use of three types of coal which have different characteristics.

Abstract

UKM mempunyai peran yang penting dalam meningkatkan perekonomian. Terdapat beberapa bidang yang banyak digeluti oleh UKM yang salah satunya dalam bidang sandang. Obyek penelitian ini yaitu Sentra Blangkon di Dusun Beji Yogyakarta. Salah satu faktor penurunan jumlah penjualan yaitu desain blangkon dan kemasan yang kurang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan teknis dan perbaikan apa saja yang diperlukan dalam produk blangkon dan kemasan blangkon sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen menggunakan metode QFD dan penyaringan House of Quality. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah produk blangkon dengan konsep desain C, dengan kriteria bahan eksklusif dan model blangkon dilakukan peningkatan kualitas produk, untuk kriteria awet dan kenyamanan blangkon dilakukan pertahanan kualitas produk dan melakukan inovasi secara kontinyu dan kriteria size blangkon, warna blangkon, motif, dan harga dilakukan pertahanan kualitas produk sedangkan untuk produk kemasan pada kriteria motif kemasan dan bentuk kemasan dilakukan peningkatan kualitas produk, untuk kriteria logo dan bahan kemasan dilakukan pertahanan kualitas dan inovasi secara kontinyu, dan untuk kriteria warna, kenyaman, dan informasi pada kemasan dilakukan pertahanan kualitas produk. Pada rumah kedua HOQ didapat hasil rancangan apa yang perlu dilakukan untuk mendapatkan tujuan dari permintaan teknis.Kata Kunci: Quality Fuction Deployment, House of Quality, Desain Produk.

Abstract

The development of information technology simplify human life. Its evoke crime loopholes, cyber crime. When solving criminal cases that utilize information technology is required the digital forensic science. In carrying out a digital investigation known multiple frameworks around the worlds. Every devices, every organization has their own framework. The most common framework divided into 4 sections. Preservation, Acquisition, Analysis, and Reporting are the most common used around the worlds. Acquisition is a key part of the investigation process because in this process digital evidence is collected form the electronic evidence. The acquisition processes uses special equipment. Forensic acquisition equipment mostly made by forensic vendors in the world. The problems that arise in the academic realm is the price of the equipment is quite expensive. The existence of the above problem there is a gap to conduct research on the applied field of development of tools for forensic acquisition. This study provides an early overview of the design of a digital forensics acquisition tool called Nenggala Disk Duplicator.

Abstract

Visual impairment is a condition that causes one cannot access visual information clearly. Most of people with visual impairment access visual information through the sense of hearing and touch. One of activity which accessing visual information is indispensable is learning activities. Learning activities can affect one’s ability to understand and master what they learn. Moreover, in order to make learning activities more interesting, fun learning activities need to be created, such as learning while playing. The activities of learning while playing can be implemented by developing game based learning. This study was conducted to develop a game based learning that can help people with visual impairment to do learning activities for arithmetic subject. The interactivity in the game is a combination of touch and swipe interaction tehniques. From the user acceptance testing, result shows that the game is ease to use and to learn, and has a simple and intuitive interface. The next improvement for this game can be adding other interaction techniques such as hold, double click, multitouch, et cetera.

Abstract

Electrical needs in industry as well as in households is one of the main needs as a source of energy for electrical devices. Currently the development of new and renewable energy sources and research involving many found in the world, one of which is a microhydro power plant. Indonesia is a country that has a stream that can be used as a source of energy, especially as a small scale power generator or often called microhydro. In this study the authors try to make a prototype microhydro power plant by utilizing used washer motor driver as a generator. The prototype is equipped with a complement load of inductors to maintain the stability of the voltage and frequency of the generator output when there is loading. The prototype also features a voltage indicator panel, frequency, flow of water to the generator using arduino as its signal processing module. From the observation result obtained maximum output from generator is 90 Volt with frequency 123Hz with speed generator 308 RPM and water debit 127 mL / sec. The addition of complement load on the generator greatly affects the output of the generator during loading.

Abstract

The growth of industrial sector has increased. Especially for leather industries. Production of UPT Pengolahan Kulit Ladong in the form of wet blue tanned skin will be expected to cover some of the needs of national market demand. The purpose of this research is to analyze the operational feasibility of UPT Pengolahan Kulit Ladong from legal aspect, market aspect, technical aspect, management aspect, and also financial aspect. The object of this research is at UPT Pengolahan Kulit Ladong, Aceh Ladong Industrial Estate, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. The method to be used for research is techno-economical method. Data analysis consists of legal aspect analysis, market aspect analysis, technical aspect analysis, management aspect analysis, and financial aspect analysis. The results of this study indicate that in terms of legal aspects able to meet the requirements of legality, the market aspect seen from the still many unmet needs of skin that demand reached 20 million pieces of skin per year for the national market, technical aspects, to produce wet blue tanned skin can use the machine and equipment that already exist in UPT Pengolahan Kulit Ladong and already installed, management aspect that is with the availability of raw materials, it is expected when human resources are available also for UPT immediately operated and produce, and financial aspect where MARR: 10% , NPV: Rp. 286.089.235 (NPV> 0), BEP: 96%, PP: 4 Years 5 Months 19 Days, and IRR: 12.28%, so for the operation and production of UPT Pengolahan Kulit Ladong is feasible to run based on the analysis of whole aspects.

STUDI EKSPERIMENTAL PENGARUH KECEPATAN ALIRAN MASUK, SPLIT – RATIO DAN DIAMETER VORTEX FINDER TERHADAP UNJUK KERJA LIQUIDLIQUID CYLINDRICAL CYCLONE (LLCC) SEPARATOR

Abstract

The large number of ports in Indonesia generate a lot of waste oil that contaminate the ocean around the port. However, the pollution prevention is not supported by a good facility. Hydrocyclone separator can be used as an alternative to supporting conventional separataor technologies such as vessel type separator or gravitational based separator to prevent the waste oil pollution. The purpuse of this study is to determine the effect of split ratio, inlet mixture velocity, and vortex finder diameter on the performance of the liquid-liquid cylindrical cyclone (LLCC). Oil (Kerosene) and water were selected as the working fluid and a red color (dye) was given to the oil to enable visualization . Performance of LLCC determined from watercut that produced from separation process. The examined inlet mixture velocity are 0.7 m/s, 0.9 m/s and 1.1 m/s with split-ratio 5%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75% and 90%. . All of them are tested with vortex finders that have diameters 18 mm, 22 mm and 27 mm with 0 mm depth. The oil volume fraction inlet is kept constant at 25%. The result showed that LLCC was capable to separating oil-water mixture and produced watercut on underflow reaches 100%. The increasing of split-ratio will increase the watercut until reached the maximum value for all diameter of vortex finder. The condition when the oil content begin to move to the underflow on certain split-ratio is called oil drag. The split-ratio that used before oil drag occurs is called Optimum Split Ratio (OSR). LLCC should operated on OSR to obtain the best performance. The OSR is shifted to the higher split-ratio for higher inlet mixture velocity. The increasing of vortex finder diameter did not change LLCC performance significantly.
