Abstract

Consumers hold important role in determination whether the product has superiority or not. The overflowing or import fruits affected to a strong competition between local and impor fruits.? Although local fruit seemingly lost in the competing with import fruits, however the consumer (especially city consumer) is the final determiner who act the jury to judge the kind of fruit that is superior through multi attribute judgement. The research objected was to analyze the influece of the factors namely culture, social enviroment, individual, psychological and marketing strategy toward consumer?s attitude in purchasing fruits to show ?competitive value? of local fruit toward impor fruits. This research purposely conducted in Surabaya as one of the final destinations for fruit marketing with fruit?s consumer as a respondent and using survey method.? Sample taken of 140 responden from five Surabaya areas. Data collection conducted by interviews and direct obsevation toward several research object. This? research analyzed by Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The result shows that on import fruits, changing culture and the increasing of individual characteristic significally significant effect to consumer behaviour in import fruits consumtion. Abstract

?French Fried? is one of potato agrifood product by PT Siantar Top Tbk Sidoarjo. Nowadays it sales indicate decreasing than many years ago. Because many competitors that produce a lot of same agrifood product in market. So, producer must create market strategy to maintain customer and how to make customer satisfaction. The research aimed to analyze some factors it impact in sales volume. The analyze method that used in this research is multiple regression analyze. The result shows that a number of product, price, and distribution channells are significantly effect to sales volume either in partial or simultaneously. As recommended to producers to push and more intensive to performance some factros as result effectively and continously. The result indicate that alternative strategy it means how a firm to maximize strenghts variables in obtaining opportunities market with possible ways are implied. Abstract

Food stability is not only in term of enough food availability but also capability to access? including to buy food and there is no dependency to another countries. The research focused in Jember Regency. The research was aimed to explain that the enough food availability is not meant guarantee? the food stability particularly for household rate. The analyze method that used? are descriptive, stability food analyse that conducted by Sumarwan and Sukandar (1998) and Angka Kecukupan Gizi/AKG (nutrient sufficiency number) for household that including energy sufficiency rate and protein sufficiency rate. The results show that (1) the available food in Jember Regency in 1991 ? 2006 for six commodity including rice and corn are surplus, whereas soybean, peanut, cassava and sweet potato are minus, (2) Arjasa and Jelbuk subdistrict are linear decreasing in stability food, (3) AKG average number in Panduman village, Jelbuk Subdistrict as 59,51% that meant have not food stability category, (4) AKG average in Puger Wetan Village, Puger Subdistrict as 80,39% that meant have food stability category. Abstract

This research aims to know the: income disparity between the palm sugar craftsmen using the sap-sharing system and sugar-sharing system, factors that affect the income of palm sugar craftsmen, and palm sugar craftsmen income contribution on family income. The location of the research is determined by purposive method in the Lojejer Village Wuluhan Subdistrict Jember Regency. The research method used is descriptive method, comparative and analytical. Sampling method used is Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling method. The Data used are the primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used in this study are:income analysis (? = TR ? TC), multiple linear regression analysis (Y = a + b1X1 + b2X2 + b3X3 + b4X4 + b5X5 + b6 D + e), and proportions analysis (p = Pw/Pd x 100%). The results of this research indicate: (1) there are differences in palm sugar craftsmen income using the sap-sharing and sugar-sharing system. (2) factors that significantly influence to the income of palm sugar craftsmen using the sharing system the Lojejer Village Wuluhan Subdistrict Jember Regency, are: fuel costs (Rp), additional material costs (Rp), the selling price (Rp), the amount of production (Kg), labor (Rp), and the sharing system being used, (3) palm sugar craftsmens income contributions on family income in the Lojejer Village Wuluhan Subdistrict Jember Regency is medium, with a value of contribution revenue 69,53%. ? Abstract

Mount Baung Natural Park is one of the conservation areas in East Java, to reduce encroachment by the public, the government holds community empowerment. This study aims to determine: the motivation of people in the area of empowerment; Socio-economic factors that affect the motivation of people in the areas in implementing empowerment programs; Strategies undertaken to empower communities in the areas. The research method uses a descriptive and analytic. Descriptive data analysis tools uses Likert scale, multiple linear regression and analysis of FFA. The results shows that the motivation of people on community development programsis high while the motivation of people on elephant grass in the Mount Baung Natural Park is low, socio-economic factors that influence on the motivation of people in the areas in implementing empowerment programs are age (years) , revenue (Rp), and the number of dependents (soul). While the factors that do not affect significantly are the education (years) and land area (m2). Strategies that can be done is: rehabilitate some areas of Mount Baung Natural Park that has been already degraded with labor-intensive methods and design tour packages which are capable of absorbing the local community as labor (tour guide) for tourists and researchers. Abstract

The problem of food security in Indonesia is exacerbated by the high number of poverty in Indonesia. This is exacerbated by the high dependence of the Indonesian rice consumption has increased and the national rice production has decreased. The research objective is to map the village level food security based on the aspects of availability, aspects of food access and livelihoods and access to nutritional health. Methods of determining district purposively sample while the determination of villages using a Multistage Sampling. The study was conducted in Sidoarjo Regency as a regional industrial center, Jember regency as agricultural centers and Banyuwangi Regency as fishery centers.Results obtained from this study are: (1) The villages in Sidoarjo regency 60% in the category of food resistant, and 40% in the category of food insecurity. (2) The villages in Jember regency 57% in the category of food resistant and 43% in the category of food insecurity. (3) Villages Banyuwangi 72% in the category of food resistant and 28% in the category of food insecurity.Key words: mapping, regional, hold food, food security.

Abstract

Trenggalek Regency is one of areas in East Java Province which have a great potential in the development of cassava commodity. This research aimed to: (1) identify the areas which became base sector of cassava commodity based on cassava acreage and production; (2) determine the characteristics of the spread of cassava commodiy according to the principle of locality and specialization of cassava farm management;(3) evaluate the contribution of cassava commodity to the economic structure and growth of cassava commodity;and (4) evaluate the contribution of food subsector to the economic structure in Trenggalek Regency. The tools of analytical used in this research were Location Quotient analysis, locality (Lp) and Specialization (Sp) analysis and shift share. Conclusions of the research: (1)Trenggalek Regency is a base area of cassava in East Java Province with the highest LQ value; cassava base areas based on the indicators of crop acreage and production include Districts of Pule, Dongko, Bendungan, Suruh and Tugu; (2) The farming of cassava is not only concentrated/localized in the area but spreads in several districts and none of the districts relies the economic sector only on cassava commodity; (3) Contribution of cassava commodity is? insignificant. Abstract

Food consumption diversification aim to lessen the storey level consume the fundamental food of rice, replace it with traditional local fundamental food and improve the score quality of food consumption. Research aim to know the storey level consume the food, score quality of food consumption and role of traditional local fundamental food in pattern food consumption of the household. Research done in Sub district of Kauman Tulungagung Regency. Analysis unit is household at villages. Analysis consume the food and scor PPH done to know the storey, level consume the food and score quality of food consumption. Role of traditional local fundamental food consumption analysed discriptifly qualitative. Research result indicate that the consumption of energy is 60,47 % AKE with score quality of food consumption is 39,39. Though tubers have ever been effective enough consumed however rice still occupy the important position in fundamental food consumption. Abstract

The objective of the study were (1) to know the trend of? crop area,? production and productivity of soybean in East Java; (2) to know competitiveness of soybean (e.g. comparative and competitive advantage) in East Java; (3) to determine and analyze the impact of government policy related to soybean competitiveness in East Java; and (4) to know the effect of changes in tradable input and output to soybean? competitiveness in East Java. The determination of research area was based on purposive sampling method with the consideration that East Java Province is one of main soybean production center. The samples were determined by Multi Stage Cluster Sampling Method. The method of data? analysis used in this study was trend analysis and Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The results of analysis indicate that (1) trend of crop area and production of soybean will gradually decrease, but its productivity will increase for the coming years; (2) Privately, soybean agribusiness in Jember and Banyuwangi were efficient. While socially, soybean agribusiness in Jember was efficient, but in Banyuwangi was inefficient; (3) Soybean agribusiness in Jember had comparative and competitive advantage, on the other hand soybean agribusiness in Banyuwangi had? competitive advantage, but did not have comparative advantage; (4) ?The impact of government policy related to soybean competitiveness in East Java was positive;? (5) Decreasing in tradable input price will increase the competitiveness of soybean agribusiness, while increasing in tradable input price will decrease the competitiveness soybean agribusiness in both region. The upper bound of increase in?? tradable input price was 102,21% for soybean agribusiness in Jember and 13,85% for soybean agribusiness in Banyuwangi, (6) Decreasing? in soybean price? will decrease the competitiveness of soybean agribusiness. The upper bound of? decrease in output?? price was? 11,13% for soybean agribusiness in Jember and 1,50% for? soybean agribusiness in Banyuwangi, (7) Decreasing in productivity of soybean will decrease? the competitiveness of soybean agribusiness. The upper bound of decrease in productivity was 11,13% for soybean agribusiness in Jember and? 3,00% for soybean agribusiness in Banyuwangi. ? Abstract

Mojomulyo village Subdistrict of Puger  one of the contres of catfish cultivation in Jember regency. In this prosess of growing up the catfish, the woof is the largest cost at all the process. The result of producing catfish should be in mutual accord with the marketing efficiency because the price of selling would give the impact to the cultivators income. This study aims to the income of catfish cultivator, the factor influencing the income catfish, and marketing of catfish in Mojomulyo village Subdistrict Puger. The research method is descriptive , analytical, and corelational method. The method of collecting the data used Proporsional Cluster Ramdom Sampling and Snowball Sampling . The results showed (1) The income of this business catfish cultivation is profitable; (2) The factors that signifantly the income of catfish cultivators are the cost of seed, the cost of woof, total production, the price of selling, the cost of labor, the cost of vitamins and another supplement; (3) The are 3 channels of marketing catfish. Based on value of marketing efficiency, the marketing channel of catfish is efficient. The 1st channel is the most efficient channel to profit share that received the  highest cultivator fo 84,38%  and distribution margin value, the 1st channel showed value of profit share and cost share more proportional.
