Abstract

One of components that could be considered in decreasing the rate ofenergy  consumption  is  the  household sector.  Most  of  Indonesian householder, who is in the low up to middle class, uses kerosene as the main  source   energy   in   daily   cooking.   The  objectives   of   this investigation are to study the effects of glass thickness and slope on the degree of kerosene-stove efficiency. The results of this research could be  used as input in designing the characteristic of a glass concave . cover, which can produce the highest efficiency of a kerosene stove.Design used in this research was factorial  experimental design. The thickness and shape of the glass concave cover was considerable as the speed of heating process, which showed the degree of efficiency, was considered.as dependent variable. As the control variable, were room temperature, the length of stoves wick, water volume, initial temperature of water, observation range of temperature, type of stove, and the kerosene quantity in the stove tank. Based on the research design, data were analyzed by two-direction variance analysis. With this method, it could be shown whether the thickness and slope and the degree of the stove efficiency will be shown graphically. Base on the result of the data analysis, it can concluded that (1) the slope of the glass concave cover affect the degree of the stove efficiency, (2)  The thickness of the cover did not effect the degree of the stove efficiency, (3) at the slope of 82 degree, it  was shown that the efficiency was maximum, (4) in comparison to unmodified stove, the modified stove with glass concave cover had an efficiency of 25, 8 % higher at the slope of 82 degree.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to design and to implement an e­commerce (electronic commerce) system using components and object­oriented frameworks technology. The research begins with analyzing and identifying specifications, which are categorized functionally  into modules and  objects.  The  objects are  grouped  into  three  logical categories: presentation aspects, business rules and data, and objects that accept and interpret user requests and control the business objects. The result is an e-commerce system running on local server of J2EE with URL http://localhost:8000/rbi/.Byaccessingthesystem,itis assumed that the performance would be in line with the expected research goals. The important web pages of the system among others are  main page,  product  category, product  item  list,  detail  item description, shopping cart, log-in and log-out page, order notes, and other supporting pages. This e-commerce system was designed to be adapted to other products easily.Keywords: e-commerce, JavaServer Page (JSP), component, framework, object-orientedprogramming.

Abstract

The study of the post occupancy evaluation of the lecturing and administrationbuildings of the Department of the Construction Engineering  Teacher Training of the Faculty  of  Technique of  Yogyakarta State  University is limited at the indicative level of the lecturing and administration buildings. It aims at investigating the technical and functional  aspects  of the lecturing and administration  rooms  of  the  Department  of  the  Construction  Engineering Teacher Training of the Faculty of Technique ofYogyakarta  State University. It is conducted in 5 months of the lecturing period  199912000, with the analysis unit of the Department of the Construction Engineering  with all of its activity aspects.  The  observing focuses   of  the  study  are  a)  the  technical  aspect, including: 1) lighting, 2) ventilation, 3) security, 4)fire fighting,  5) maintenance; b) the functional  aspect, including: 1) room organization, 2) room capacity, 3) circulation, 4) communication, 5) the possibility to change. The data is collected using interview, field  observation and documentation.  The content validity  is tested  on relational judgmental  basis.  The results  of the study show  that  in almost  50%  of  the  lecturing period  of  the  odd  semester  of  1999/2000 the lecturing room capacity is "less ", It is also found  that the ideal and comfortable lecturing rooms are those with the capacity of 30-35 individuals per classroom. Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to consider the addition of the lecturing rooms with the "big"  capacity of 100 individuals.  And, based on the results of the evaluation of the capacity of the administration and lecturer rooms show  that  90% of the capacity of the rooms  do not  meet the working room standard. The condition of the comfort and the security of the rooms do not meet the requirements. Based on the results of the study it is necessary to develop the administration and the lecturer rooms into a "vertical"  direction that they meet the comfortable working room standard.Key words: Building, evaluation, comfort
