Abstract

The   objective   of   the   study   is   to  modify   the   sulphate   galactanspolysaccharide  (gelatine) provided from  extraction of Gracilaria sp with borohydride  alkali and  its result  characterization.  The sample  of  this study   was   the   sulphate   galactans   polysaccharide   provided   from extraction of Graci/aria sp. The modified reaction using the Rees method used  NaBH4 and  NaOH  in  various  compositions.  The physical   and chemical characteristics of the modification reaction results were compared to the characteristics of the seaweed gelatine provided from the extraction before the treatment and agarosa p.a.  The result of this study indicates that the sulphate galactans polysaccharide can be modified by borohidrida alkali reagent in base condition at the composition variations of the seaweed gelatine:   NaBH4 : NaOH =  1:  0,5 : ] ; 1 : 1 : 2  and 1:   2  :   4  .The  characterization  showed  that  the  compound  of  the modification reaction result compared to the sulphate galactans polysaccharide   before  the  treatment  indicated  the  change  of  their physical   and   chemical   characteristics.   The   characteristics   of   the compound  resulted from   modification  reaction  of  sulphate  galactans polysaccharide  at the composition variations of the seaweed gelatine: NaBH4 : NaOH  = 1 :  1 : 2 and 1 : 2 : 4 were almost similar  to the characteristics of agarosa p. a.Keywords: polysaccharide galactans sulphate

Abstract

The objectives  of this  research  are  to  identify  whether  the  bioactivecompound of methanol fraction  extracts of Sargasum sp can be used as anti hepatotoxic and to determine the dose of such compound in order that  it  may  be  used as anti hepatotoxic.  The population  used  in  this research was 2-month male white rats with almost similar weight. 39 rats were  taken for  the samples.  Treating  CCl4  injection carried   out  the bioactive compound activity test and the treatment of these compound extracts was observed by examining the liver cell damage microscopically and analyzing the GPT content. Examination was a/so conducted to the control rats (without CCI4  injection and bioactive compound treatment). From the result of the research it can be concluded that methanol fraction extract of Sargasum sp may be used as anti hepatotoxic. It wasfound  that the bioactive compound activity appeared at the dose of 500 mglkg of weight with 5 times treatments.Keywords: Sargasum sp; anti hepatotoxic

Abstract

The purpose  of  this research was  to determine z-factor  of gascondensate system using an iterative Newton-Raphson method to solve the Soave-Redlich-Kwong cubic equation of state (SRK­ CEOS). In this study, some influencingfactors  were observed, i.e., compositions of hydrocarbon, temperature, and pressure  of the gas-condensate  system.  The  research  method  involves determination process  of the  Hepthane plus  characteristic.  i.e. Critical  Temperature  of  C7+  (T; C7+),   critical pressure  of  C7+ (PcC7+). and acentricfactor of Cv; (COC7+) using Riazi and Duabert equation;  and  the flash   liberation  process   to  determine  the compositions  of  hydrocarbon  gas  at  certain pressure   (P) and temperature  (T).    Comparison of the z-factors  calculated  using Newton-Raphson method to solve the SRK-CEOS  with modified Dranchuk  & Abou-Kassem  equation  and Standing-Katz  method yield an average different of  0.3419 percent and 1.13 percent.Keywords: z-factor, and Newton-Raphson method
