Abstract

Phenobarbital is easy to experience hydrolyze, which is marked by the formation of sediment that doesn’t leach in drug product. It cause drugs stability in solution to become little and the drug storing time is short, so dissolving agent which can reduce the rate polarity of media needs to be utilized such as propylene glycol. The aims this research were to know the influence of each component and the two components interaction againt the response of the total salving amount drug product after sterilization process, and to determine he optimal formulation with the amount of active drug product which qualifies with simplex lattice design. The result it is indicated that propilen glikol component has a dominant influence (98.64) in increasing Phenobarbital stability in product compared to water for injection (70.71) and two components interaction (-28.42). optimal for formulation characteristic was obtained from the whole drug response which was the formulation with component of propilen glikol > 0.85-1 part. Key word : Phenobarbital, optimization Simplex Lattice Design, propylen glycol, hydrolyze.
