Abstract

Flower leaf extract at four (Mirabilis jalapa), has a secondary metabolite compound that can be used as a botanical pesticide. Secondary metabolite compounds from this plant can be combined with entomopathogenic microbes such as entomopathogenic fungi for maximum effect and power in controlling the insects so it is necessary to investigate the inhibitory power of M. jalapa extract to the fungus. This research uses extract of M. jalapa concentration 0 (control), 0,1; 0.2; 0.4; and 0.8% (w / v), the inhibitory test using the agar diffusion method. The results showed that the metabolite compound produced from M. jalapa did not inhibit the working power of Rizoctonia and Fusarium fungi so as to allow the M.jalapa leaf extract to be combined with the fungus for further research on botanical combinations of pesticides.Keywords: Bioinsecticide, Mirabilis jalapa, Spodoptera litura, Mortality

Abstract

Moodle learning media based blended learning which jad integrated with discovery learning model with a purposive to learn about human reproductive system with online based learning. Moodle based learning (bioshare.my.id) had analyzed and it had achieved a validity and practical measurement. This research had used EDDIE model, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product assessment by using two expert validatort such as assessment instrumental consist of syllabus, lesson plan, moodle, teacher and student response questionnaire. Assessment results from expert validator proved that product which had discovered was feasible because the syllabus validity value was 4,86; lesson plan (RPP) was 4,70; student worksheet (LKPD) was 4,90; moodle was 4,82, teacher response questionnaire was 4,93; and student response questionnaire was 4,90 (strongly valid). Media practical had gotten by teacher response with a value was 89,94 (strongly practical) and student response was 70,20 (practical). Based on the research result concluded that learning instrument and moodle based online learning media which had developed was valid and practical.

Abstract

This research aimed at knowing the implementation of auditory intellectually repetition (AIR) learning model on student cognitive learning result on the Environmental Pollution learning material. The research approach used is quantitative descriptive. The research method used is experiment type Quasi-experiment with design research Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study is all students of class VII SMPN 7 Dedai. Samples are VIIA and VIIB classes. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets, questions test, and questionnaires.  Data analysis for obesrvation and questionnaire by percentage and for test with parametric statistic that is t-test of two samples. The result of analysis on teacher observation sheet at the first and second meeting obtained an average value of 97.70%, belonged to very strong criteria, while the analysis of student observation sheets at the first and second meeting obtained average value of 95.45% belonged to very strong criteria. Based on the posttest hypothesis test on the experimental and control class obtained tcount was 14,77 and ttable was 2,00665. Testing the hypothesis proves that tcount> ttable  (14,77> 2,00665) which means Ha accepted and Ho rejected.  Hence, it was proved that there was a significant difference on students cognitive learning result on the Environmental Pollution learning material between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the students response questionnaire processing is obtained by the average percentage value of 86.81% belonged to strong category.

Abstract

This research aims to know 1) The local communities understanding of Bantimurung National Park Bulusaraung, 2) The interaction that occurs between the local communities. Informants came from the community in Kelurahan Kalabbirang selected by using purposive sampling then followed by snow ball sampling. Data obtained from observation, documentation and interview.  The research results showed that 1) The communities understands the existence of the boundary and it’s benefits because the community has long been living even since the area has not been used as a National Park. 2) The interaction seen from the utilization of land managed by the communities as agricultural land; utilization of the area as a tourist park; as well as a variety of conservation actions in the form of mutual assistance in cleaning the surroundings; monitoring of the butterfly habitat; and patrols conducted by community and forestry police.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of the magnetic anomaly distribution of minerals from the subsurface and to identify the composition of rock samples and surface morphology in the geothermal area of Makula Village using the SEM-EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy) method. Based on direct observation, the highest temperature obtained from the geothermal area of Makula Village is 43,6oC. The geothermal area of Makula Village Tana Toraja has the characteristics of various magnetic anomaly values ranging from -340,5 nT up to 1015,8 nT. The results of the A and B cross-section modeling using the Oasis software show that the structure of the rocks below the surface to the maximum depth, obtained some form of anomalous bodies namely, calcite, clay, coal, andesite breccia, basalt, and granite. The SEM-EDS test results show that the microstructure of rock samples is generally irregularly shaped with varying sizes and dominated by magnesium and silicon.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out (1) the characteristics of project assessment in assessing  learning outcomes of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng, (2) whether or not project assessment is valid to assess learning outcomes of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng, (3) the learning outcomes of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng in using project assessment.. This research is a research development which refers to Plomp Development Model. Project assessment consists of an instrument of assessment in planning the project, assessment rubrics of the planning and implementation, assessment rubrics of product reports, assessment rubric of video products. The results of this study indicated that (1) project assessment has  characteristics : at the pre-investigation phase, there were some problems appeared in project assignment in case of unsystematic assessment process. At the design phase, there were project assessment. At the realization phase, there were prototype I. At the evaluation phase, there were  a project assessment  which assess  the phase of planning, implementation, and evaluation. (2) The Development of Project assessment can be categorized as a valid criteria so it can be feasible to used, (3) the learning outcomes of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng in using project assessment is in high category.

Abstract

Acidic acid water (ATT) is a waste water formed from a series of chemical reactions and biological activity during and after exploitation of open-air coal. Coal containing sulphide in the presence of oxygen and water is oxidized to form sulfuric acid to have a pH <4. This condition facilitates the solubility of Fe and Mn. As a result, AAT becomes a great potential as environmental polluters. This study aims to determine the efficiency of Fe and Mn removal at AAT. The method used is phytoremediation by using water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) and purun tikus (Eleocharis dulcis) on artificial wetland system (LBB). The treatment was carried out for 25 days with a flow rate of 5 m3 / day. Measurements and sampling are done every 5 days. Measurements of Fe and Mn concentrations using ICP-OES. The results of the analysis show that LBB is only able to increase the pH from 3.20 to 5.31. Water hyacinth and purple mice were able to accumulate Fe and Mn with the highest Bioconcentrate (FBK) factor for Fe, respectively of 1701,12 and 1010,86 and for Mn respectively of 1,12 and 1,45, Phytoremediation Index (IFR ) or LBB performance efficiency in excluding Fe and Mn respectively between (87,11-95,28)% and (70,08 - 79,84)%. These results indicate that both of these plants can be considered for use in longer-term AAT processing in larger LBBs.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the difference of ethanol extract and extract of ethyl acetate of pepper leaf (Piper nigrum L) to antimicrobial activity of Staphylococcua aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The maceration method has been used to extract the pepper leaf by using two solvents ie 70% ethanol and ethyl acetate. The extract results were then tested for antimicrobial activity. The result of pepper ethanol extract obtained by the higher yield was 24,64% compared with ethyl acetate extract 9,18%. Leaf pepper ethanol extract had higher antimicrobial activity than pepper acetate leaves extract against Staphylococcua aureus, and Escherichia coli but did not inhibit Candida albicans fungi at concentration of 10%.

Abstract

Chemical fertilizer is a mixture of chemical compounds which provide for the needs of chemical elements and nutrients in plants (Chauhan et al., 2013). One example rather than chemical fertilizer that is widely used as a fertilizer phosphate. Phosphate rock is the starting material for the production of all products are the main source of phosphate and phosphate fertilizers (Roselli et al., 2010).Natural uranium in phosphate rock has the properties can replace the position of calcium, resulting in a certain time will accumulate uranium in fertilizers. the existence of uranium in phosphates depending on levels of uranium in phosphate rock (Indri et al., 2006). In the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers, many radionuclides come into the fertilizer, so fertilizer spreading into the environment and become NORM radioactive sources (Rehman et al., 2006). This study was conducted to determine the radioactive material (NORM) in the chemical fertilizer in Indonesia using gamma ray spectrometry. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the six types of samples of fertilizers namely Urea, ZA, KCL, NPK, TSP and Phosphate has a content of natural radioactive materials (NORM).

Abstract

Hybrid rice is the result of the development of local snacks as an alternative staple food. In this study, the materials used are cassava (Manihot esculentra) and pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) with a ratio of in 1 kg is 60:40, 50:50, and 40:60 using thread method. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of water, ash, fat, protein, fiber and carbohydrates in hybrid  rice produced. The results showed that the best ratio of cassava and pumpkin was 50:50 in which the protein, fat, water, ash, fiber and carbohydrate content were 3.25%, 0.1%, 6.49%, 2.17%, 4.6%, 71.89%, respectively. This suggests that the hibryd made from cassava and pumpkin can be used as an alternative staple food with nutritional value quite similar with the common rice.
