Abstract

This study aims to determine seasonal variations livestock forage plants in several centers of animal production Cattle and Goats. The method used in this study was the observation by ethnobiological approach in several production centers ruminant livestock (cattle and goats) in East Java and Southeast Sulawesi. The results showed that the number of food plants live in the rainy season more than the dry season.The decline in the number of plant species are more common in plants than the annual grass perennial broadleaf plants.The largest decline in the number of plant species forage due to drought occurred in Pamotan district. Dampit and Langgea, otherwise only slight changes in Ringinsari and Malang.

Abstract

The study aimed at examining (1) describe family climate and students emotional intelligenceof XI IPA SMAN in Parepare, (2) correlation between family climate and students emotional intelligenceof XI IPA SMAN in Parepare. The kind of the study was ex-post facto research. The population of the study was the entire students of grade XI IPA at SMAN in Parepare. Data were collected with 230 samples taken by employing proportional random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by employing statistics descriptive and inferential analysis. The result of the study revealed that (1) the family climate of grade XI IPA students at SMAN in Parepare was in condusive category and emotional intelligence was in fair category, (2) there was correlation between family climate and emotional intelligence, and (3) the contribution of family climate toward emotional intelligence was 1,51%.

Abstract

The learning concept is divided into two namely the formation of concepts and the achievement of concepts. This learning is presented in the form of examples and definitions that lead to an active interaction between learners and teachers. Because in each learner learning has different abilities in understanding a concept, then the samples and definitions of each learner will also be different and it will be a nuance that will train learners to think creatively. This research is a descriptive research that aims to determine the effectiveness of conceptual learning in terms of creative thinking ability of learners. The subjects of the study were students of class X.2 SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara which amounted to 36 students. Data collection is done by using a learning result test that provides an overview of the creative thinking skills of learners that include the ability to think smoothly, the ability to think flexibly, the ability to think original, and the ability to think in detail. The result of descriptive statistic analysis shows that the effectiveness of concept learning is viewed from the ability of creative thinking in chemistry of learners in SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara on the subject matter of hydrocarbon equal to 44,38%.

Abstract

 The aim of this study is to find out the effectiveness of quantum learning model implementation based on student’s learning style for circulation system matter in the XI grade science students of SMAN 1Bontosikuyu Selayar Island. This research was pre-experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest research design. The population of this study was all the XI grade science students of SMAN 1Bontosikuyu. The sampling technique was saturated sampling that all the XI grade science students consisted of 24 students as the sample. The research instruments were learning style questioner, multiple-choice and essay  questions of student’s achievement, and activity observation paper. The increase of value from pre-test to post-test was found out through N-gain calculation, with the effectiveness criteria which were ≥ 75% of the total of students based on the learning style that obtained N-gain in middle to high category. The result of this  study showed that were visual learners students 58.33%, auditory learners 25%, kinesthetic learners 4.17%, visual-kinesthetic learners 8.33% and auditory-kinesthetic learners 4.17%. All students of each learning style were able to meet the criteria of effectiveness in this research. It can be concluded that the implementation of quantum learning method based on student’s learning style was effective for circulation system matter in the XI grade science students SMAN 1 Bontosikuyu. Student’s activity during the learning process by quantum learning method was in very good category.

Abstract

Queuing is a common thing in everyday life and can be found in the manufacturing sector as well as in the service sector.No exception at the agency or government office.ULP (Passport Service Unit) The First Class Immigration Office of Makassar City is a technical implementing unit performing the functions of the Directorate General of Immigration in a certain region or city providing services in the field of immigration.This study aims to determine the queuing model applied to the Passport Service Unit of the First Class Immigration Office of Makassar City and find out whether the level of service provided is optimal.In the analysis process used manual calculation and supportby software POM for Windows 3.Based on analysis of data obtained after the study, modela queues applied to ULP (Unit Passport Service) Class I Immigration Office of Makassar is the (M/M/S):(FCFS/∞/∞).Queue system at Passport Service Unit First Class Immigration of the Office of Makassar City can be said to be normal on a typical day, because it has met the old standard of service time. So that the system applied is optimal.

Abstract

The mangrove forest a tropical beach vegetation community is dominated by several species of mangrove trees capable of growing and growing in tidal areas of muddy beaches. The purpose of this research is to know the role of society and government in mangrove ecotourism management and to know strategy management of mangrove ecotourismTongke-Tongke Village, East Sinjai district, Sinjai Regency. Sampling technique conducted by purposive sampling. Data collection, conducted by observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. To know the management strategy used SWOT analysis technique. SWOT analysis used to formulate alternative sustainable management strategies ecotourism of mangrove forests. The result obtained is that local government in support of mangrove ecotourism, has made sidewalks, in form of road boards together with the community to facilitate access to enter the mangrove forest area, oversee the development of mangrove management, conduct counseling about mangrove forest. The alternative strategy for sustainable management of mangrove ecotourism, prioritized in the mangrove ecotourism area of Tongke-Tongke Village is (1) improving the coordination of government, community and managers in developing ecotourism, (2) involving the community in every mangrove ecotourism management, (3) creating and applying the system monitoring and evaluation involving stakeholders in the protection of mangrove ecosystems.

Abstract

Indigenous peoples of Karampuang are very obedient to customs, beliefs, cosmology, and knowledge in environmental management. This study aims to determine the local wisdom of indigenous people KarampuangSinjai regency in South Sulawesi in environmental management. Type of qualitative research with case study approach. Technique of data collection is done by observation, interview, documentation and literature review. Data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, Data Presentation, and Withdrawal Conclusion. Research results show that indigenous peoples of Karampuang manage the environment derived from local wisdom in the form of knowledge, myths and messages of ancestors that contains prohibitions, invitations, and sanctions in environmental management. Local wisdom is important to be conserved in order to maintain balance and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research that aims to find out how the problem-based learning steps so as to develop the students character values. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Parepare with 39 students. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation / evaluation, and reflection. Each cycle consists of four meetings, three meetings for teaching and learning and one evaluation meeting. Data collection was done by using observation sheet of student activity/activity, observation sheet of student character and student character questionnaire and analyzed qualitatively. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis for student learning outcomes on the show that the cycle I obtained an average value of 67.02 whereas in cycle II obtained an average value of 75.61. Questionnaires and observation sheets are used to observe the character development of students. By applying the steps of the problem-based learning model, the character of the student develops based on the observation result and student character questionnaire which increases from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

The development of science, technology and art influence on economic and social development of society. The rapid economic growth in Indonesia is still a profit-oriented bussines. The attitude of caring and awareness about the environment tend to be ignored by the employers even do not inserted and properly evaluated in the education curriculum in Indonesia. Attitudes towards environmental awareness needs to be instilled as early as possible to the students and evaluated particularly well in chemistry learning where has direct contact with the environment. The concept of sustainable development issued by the United Nations (UN) could be one of the solution to develop economic with environmental way and can be inserted into chemistry learning process. Sustainable development concept has three main domains are environmental, economic and social. There are several models and strategies of learning where has sustainable development orientation, are: experiental learning, project-based learning, values and character-based learning, inquiry learning, and others. The indicators of the students who have environmental awareness, are: 1) to know and be aware of issues and environmental issues, 2) have a perception and awareness of the issues and problems of the environment, and 3) have confidence in solving environmental problems and contribute to environmental improvement. Writing this article aims to outline the concept of sustainable development in learning chemistry so that it can be a reference for improving students environmental awareness. This article will examine several issues, are: the concept of sustainable development, learning chemistry for sustainable development, sustainable development-oriented learning models and indicators of environmental awareness. Through this article, educators and stake holders are expected to be able to insert and apply the concept of sustainable development in the learning process chemistry to enhance students environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study aims: (1) to identify the main support system in the design of environment-based learning in the Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Makassar. (2) To know the utilization of environment-based learning resources in the Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Makassar. Through the Needs Assessment instrument in the form of field observation, questionnaire survey, and interviews on lecturers and students identified the problem to determine the appropriate action for the next stage, so that the learning design will be the best solution. The results obtained that (1) Jurusan Biologi UNM has two locations or major areas that are very supportive of environment-based learning with their respective characteristics. The two areas are Biology Experiment Garden and Library Discussion Platform Biology Department FMIPA UNM. (2) Some subjects have utilized environment-based learning resources in the Jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNM. Solutions from the results of the identification obtained are among others; (1) Jurusan Biologi can be used as a place of learning, learning resources, and as a medium of learning in the design of environment-based learning. (2) Jurusan Biologi can be used as a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment for all academic community (3) Environmental Based Learning Design in Jurusan Biologi can be done in almost all courses by increasing the role of lecturer as a facilitator.
