Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the correlation between self-confidence and self-esteem both individually and collectivelly and the interpersonal relationship ability. The subjects were 100 students of educational faculty of IKIP Ujung Pandang. The data were obtained by applying a set of scales for revealing interpersonal relationship, self-confidence, and self-esteem. The data were subjected to regression and analysis of variance. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the ability in interpersonal relationship was influenced by the students` self-confidence and students self-esteem. Furthermore, self-confidence had a greater influence than self-esteem on ability in interpersonal relationship

Abstract

This study investigated the communication quality and its variation. The sample consisted of randomly chosen 120 lecturers of six faculties at IKIP Semarang. Data collected by questionnaire then were analyzed in descriptive measures, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression. The result showed that the quality of lecturer-student communication was high. Among faculties, no variance of the quality of the communication was really significant, nor on the basis of educational achievement and seniority. The quality of communication by lecturers with greater academic tasks was better than the quality of communication by those having less academic tasks. The educational achievement, seniority, and academic tasks, had small contribution to the quality of lecturer-student communication

Abstract

Twenty-first century which is just around the corner, will bring a lot of changes in several fields, including education. To find out what kind of changes should be done, it is necessary for us to retrace the history of education in Indonesia starting from the Dutch Colonial time to the present day. As a result we might be able to detect the problems in our educational sistem from pre-school to university level. Besides, this article is going to focus on what kind of educational system and human resources are needed in the next century. Based on that knowledge, some alternatives are given to solve the problems in our educational system to "produce" excellent human resources for the future.

Abstract

Appreciating the code of ethics is a foundation to implement and maintain the teachers profession. The code of profession ethics bears values, motivations, and internal control generating teachers spirit of obedience and increasing their confidence and prestige in holding the profession. Teachers awareness of this normative principle will be able to develop their moral insights and establish the teachers personalities and profession which will, in turn, increase the teachers obedience to build qualified human resources and to ensure the spirit of the corps. Discussions on the code of profession ethics could also generate motivation to think of the lecturers profession at universities.

Abstract

Psychosis has direct impacts on the psychopaths family. Relations between the psychopaths and their family will be a complicated ones. The members of psychopaths family is often failed to know what to do. The familys prestige is threatened by possibility that the family members are facing difficulties in getting spouses. Therefore, family as a smallest unit of society should be involved in recovering the psychopaths. In rehabilitating their mental health, the psychopaths family plays an important role using educational approach in its broad meaning. The psychopaths family, for example, can provide a normal treatment, build the psychopaths self-concept as a human being, "inoculate" religious educations, and activate the psychopaths in productive and recreative activities.

Abstract

This study is to determine the learning factors in the establishment of attitudes and behavioral enterpreneurship which are implemented through individual, group, and mass learning activities. The distributors of PT Centra Nusa Insancemerlang (CNI) which conducted its business using Multi Level Marketing (MLM) were chosen as the object of the study. This study did not use individual or social characteristics and procedure involvement as study requirement. In general, distributors were actively involved in searching for and improving patterns and learning model in order to make more creative and dynamic businesses. As a result, positive attitudes and behavioral enterpreneurship can be gained to increase social and economical status.

Abstract

This study was based on the "controlled" speeches and term papers of students of the English Education, Sriwijaya University. The subjects were 20 students of the fifth semester, who were taking speaking V in the year 1994/1995. They were taken from 80 students as the population. Two approaches were employed in the study: description and analysis. The study described the kinds of errors found both in spoken and written data. Then, it analyzed the sources of the errors. It was concluded that the subjects were good as their errors did not exceed 10% in terms of the total sentences they made in speaking as well as in writing. Speaking and writing errors were relatively the same in terms of the kinds of errors and their causes. In terms of speaking, the students could be in scale 3. In writing, the students could belong to level 3, that is, minimum professional proficiency.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research was aimed at describing professional attitudes of religion teachers and to test the influences of Teacher Certification IV Program on professional attitudes of the religion teachers in terms of their differences in teaching experience and their job status. The subjects were 64 religion teachers of SLTP, SMU, and SMK in Irian Jaya. The instruments for gathering data were checklists and attitude scale. Mean, standard deviation, and F-test were applied to analyse the data. The results revealed that teachers attitudes were positive. Teacher Certification IV Program influenced teachers attitudes toward their professionalism. There was a significant correlation between teaching experience and teachers professional attitudes in terms of their job status.
