Abstract

Among the four methods of teaching reading for beginners apparently the syntetic analytic structural (SAS) method is the most effective and efficient one. The students textbook, especially for the first graders at the first quart semester, should primarily focuss on the introduction of alphabets without inhibiting the accuracy and speed of beginning reading. These facts are concluded based on the result of the analysis of data collected from the samples of 8 primary schools (4 in the urban and the other 4 in the rural areas) comprising 160 first graders. The technic of analysis employed was two-way ANOVA.

Abstract

This is the first of a follow up study that aims to obtain a model of teaching-learning activities for the poor families in the rural areas, poor in the sense of economy, education, religion, health, and environment. In order to enhance the peoples knowledge all learning resources were coordinated, be they from government bodies as well as from private ones. Especially, this tudy (the first) concerns the concepts of teaching-learning activities, the approaches implemented in the models, the problems encountered, the learning potentials of the poor rural people, the priorities, the programs, and the learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims at obtaining empirical evidence concerning the success of mothers in developing their childrens morality in line with the moral of the Indonesian people who are embracing the Moslem religion. Reffering to this aim a model of a system is being developed, namely the model of interventive educational system, i.e. a moslem education integrated in the informal education at home. This study is conducted within the area of DKI Jakarta and outside this area from April 1994 to January 1995. The instrument used for data collection is a questionnaire and an interview schedule. Concerning the feasibility of the implementation on the field, there is an indication of great support from the head of the villages, the chairperson of the RWs and the leaders of the local PKK.

Abstract

In Cental Kalimantan the development of the curriculum on local content subject area for the SMUs focusses on growing rubber and rattan. The content of the material accompanying the textbooks on local caontent subject area covers 7 topics that focusses mainly on field work rather than theory. Those topics are: 1) the conditions for growing; 2) the cultivation of plants; 3) planting in the field; 4) nursing the plants; 5) plant diseases; 6) harvesting and production; 7) processing the product.

Abstract

The development of lecturers performance and skill is one of urgent efforts in promoting the quality of instruction. "Applied Approach" program is more efficient. To continue and miantain this program. However, it is essentialto search for its effectiveness, liability, and merit. The research outcomes will be beneficial particularly for constructing the game program for the future purpose.

Abstract

This study is aimed at knowing the relevance between the commercial Computer Assisted Instruction software and the principles of learning theories as well as the principles of communication in designing and develoving instructional materials. This study is a survey conducted in DKI Jakarta 1993. The population comprises CAI software for Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Languages numbering 12 in all. These 12 CAI software of 7 tutorial and 5 sets of material for drill. The result of the study showed that in general the Computer Assisted Learning softwares studied were categorized as being good. Further examination of each component revealed that on the average the objectives component on tutorial as well as that on drilling is graded as inappropriate. Other components such as the pedagogical content, technical design, and implementation support are categorized as appropriate.

Abstract

The dual system has many forms of implementation, one of which the industry serves as educational establishment as well as a place for apprenticeship. The objective of this tudy was to examine the educational model of the dual system planned by PT Siemens Indonesia in preparing skilled workers in technical vocation. This model follows the Duale Ausbildungsystem developed in Germany with the content of the curriculum focuses more on practical components as compared to the theoritical part.
