Abstract

Abstract: The Effect of Organizational Behavior and Commitment on Lecturers‚?? Performance. The purpose of this survey study was to investigate the effect of organizational behavior and commitment on lecturers‚?? performance. Ninety lecturers were selected randomly from private universities around the capital city. The results of path analysis with SPSS reveal that: (1) organizational behavior affects lectur¬≠ers‚?? performance; (2) commitment affects lecturers‚?? performance, (3) organizational behavior and com¬≠mitment simultaneously affect lecturers‚?? performance.Keywords: organizational behavior, commitment, lecturers‚?? performanceAbstrak: Pengaruh Budaya Organisasi dan Komitmen terhadap Kinerja Dosen Perguruan Tinggi Swasta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh budaya organisasi dan komitmen ter¬≠hadap kinerja dosen di perguruan tinggi swasta (PTS). Penelitian menggunakan metode survei. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 90 orang dosen PTS Jakarta, diambil dengan teknik random. Analisis data meng¬≠sgunakan teknik analisis jalur dengan bantuan Program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh budaya organisasi terhadap kinerja dosen, (2) terdapat pengaruh komitmen terhadap kinerja dosen, (3) terdapat pengaruh budaya organisasi dan komitmen secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja dosen PTS Jakarta.

Abstract

Abstract: Management of Quality Assurance on College Academic Service. The case study reports on the quality assurance management of academic service, focusing on the quality assurance of the input, the teaching and learning process, the facilities and infrastructure, and the graduates. The study involved the study programs of Education Administration, Physical Education, Health, and Recreation, and Non-formal Education. The results of the qualitative and quantitative analyses reveal that universities need to give at­tention to the quality assurance management of their graduates because many of them eventually do not work in areas relevant to their qualifications and educational backgroundsKeywords: academic services quality assurance, higher educationAbstrak: Manajemen Penjaminan Mutu Layanan Akademik Perguruan Tinggi. Abstract

Abstract: Educational Program Based on Local Potential at a Vocational School. This is a descrip­tive-qualitative study implementing an educational program based on local potential at Fisheries Study Programe. The study was carried out at Vocational School II, Bontang. The results show three main is­sues. First, the application of Educational Program Based on Local Wisdoms at the Fisheries Study Program at Vocational School II, Bontang already met the national educational standards, but not able to manage the natural resources of fisheries. Second, the problems surfacing include the lack of support­ing facilities, the lack of interests in entrepreneurship and fishing industry among the alumni, and the unintensive coordination between educational providers and policy makers. Third, the planning for fu­ture improvements include completing the necessary infrastructure, maximizing the potential in coop­eration with the industry, promoting fishery products at important events, improving the competence of the students, participating in local and national level competitions, fostering entrepreneurial spirit by giving entrepreneurship training to the teachers and the students, and organizing industrial practices out­side of East Borneo.Keywords: fisheries education programe, fishery industry, entrepreneurship, local potential Abstrak: Penerapan Program Pendidikan Berbasis Keunggulan Lokal di SMK. Penelitian ini bertu­juan mendeskripsikan penerapan dan hasil penyelenggaraan program Pendidikan Berbasis Keunggulan Lokal (PBKL) perikanan, mengetahui masalah yang dihadapi dalam menerapkan program PBKL peri­kanan, dan merencanakan perbaikan ke depan. Metode penelitian deskriptif, pendekatan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian di SMK Negeri 2 Bontang. Objek penelitian warga sekolah dan pengawas sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data: observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan focus group discussion. Analisis data: reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) penerapan program PBKL perikanan di SMK Negeri 2 Bontang sudah memenuhi standar nasional pendidikan, namun hasilnya belum mampu mengelola potensi sumber daya alam perikanan; (2) masalah yang diha­dapi: kurangnya fasilitas pendukung, minat alumni berwirausaha masih kurang, industri perikanan masih sangat kurang, para penyelenggara pendidikan dan para pembuat kebijakan belum berkoordinasi secara intensif; (3) rencana perbaikan ke depan: melengkapi sarana dan prasarana, memaksimalkan potensi, bekerjasama dengan dunia industri, mempromosikan hasil perikanan, meningkatkan kompetensi siswa, memupuk jiwa wirausaha, menyelenggarakan praktik industri ke luar Kalimantan Timur.Kata kunci: program pendidikan, keunggulan lokal perikanan

Abstract

Abstract: Students‚?? Metacognitive Knowledge in the Teaching of Chemical Equilibrium. This study on students‚?? metacognitive knowledge related to Chemical Equilibrium topic was conducted at State Uni¬≠versity of Gorontalo, involving 153 students of Chemistry Department. The metacognitive knowledge be¬≠ing studied includes declarative, procedural, and conditional knowledge. The data were collected using an essay test about Chemical Equilibrium comprising four items on declarative knowledge, three items on procedural knowledge, and three items on conditional knowledge. The test has a 0.8 reliability coefficient, calculated using alpha Cronbach formula. In general, the scores on the three types of knowledge indicate that the students‚?? metacognitive knowledge was low; in particular, their conditional knowledge was lower than their declarative knowledge, while their procedural knowledge was lower than their declarative knowledge.Keywords: metacognitive knowledge, declarative, procedural, conditional, chemical equilibriumAbstrak: Metakognitif Mahasiswa dalam Pembelajaran Konsep Kesetimbangan Kimia. Penelitian metakognitif mahasiswa dilakukan terhadap 153 mahasiswa Jurusan Kimia Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Pengetahuan metakognitif yang diteliti meliputi pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedural, dan pengetahuan kondisional berkaitan. Data penelitian adalah skor tes pengetahuan metakognitif maha¬≠siswa berkaitan dengan topik kesetimbangan kimia. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan 10 item tes yang terdiri atas empat item pengetahuan deklaratif, tiga item pengetahuan prosedural, dan tiga item pengetahuan kondisional. Koefisien reliabilitas tes dihitung dengan persamaan alpha Cronbach. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan metakognitif mahasiswa termasuk rendah. Pengeta¬≠huan kondisional mahasiswa lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan pengetahuan proseduralnya, sedangkan pengetahuan prosedural mahasiswa lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan pengetahuan deklaratifnya.Kata kunci: pengetahuan metakognitif, pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedual, pengetahuan kondisional, kesetimbangan kimia

Abstract

Abstract: The Effect of Number of Test Items and Cognitive Styles on the Learning Outcomes of Social Science. This experimental study measures the effect of test length (many test items vs. few test items) and learners cognitive styles (field-independent vs. field-dependent) on the learning outcomes of social science. The 2 x 2 factorial design utilized shows that learners taking the test with a small number of items performed better than those taking the test with a large number of items. The field-independent learners scored higher than the field-dependent ones. The significant interaction between test length, cog­nitive styles, and learning outcomes in Social Science suggests that learners having field-independent cog­nitive style tend to achieve higher learning outcomes in tests with many items, whereas learners having field-dependent cognitive style show higher learning outcomes in tests with few items.Keywords: test length, cognitive styles, learning outcomes, social scienceAbstrak: Panjang Tes, Gaya Kognitif, dan Hasil Belajar IPS Peserta Didik Paket B. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh panjang tes (jumlah butir soal banyak dan jumlah butir soal sedikit) dan gaya kognitif peserta didik (field-independent dan field-dependent) terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik mata pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dalam disain faktorial Anava 2 x 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik yang mengikuti tes dengan jumlah butir soal sedikit lebih tinggi daripada hasil belajar peserta didik yang mengikuti tes dengan jumlah butir soal banyak. Peserta didik bergaya kognitif field-independent memperoleh hasil belajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan peserta didik bergaya kognitif field-dependent. Di samping itu, terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara panjang tes dan gaya kognitif terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS. Peserta didik bergaya kognitif field-independent memperoleh hasil belajar lebih tinggi pada tes dengan jumlah butir soal banyak, sedang peserta didik bergaya kognitif field-dependent memperoleh hasil belajar lebih tinggi pada tes dengan jumlah butir soal sedikit.Kata kunci: hasil belajar, panjang tes dan gaya kognitif

Abstract

Abstract: An Analysis of the Erroneous Concepts of Students in Solving Problems of National Ex¬≠amination on Elementary School Mathematics. This study aimed to find information around the Na¬≠tional Examination on Elementary School Mathematics in the 2012/2013 academic year in Kediri. The in¬≠formation includes: (1) the underlying attributes of the test items, (2) the materials in the questions that cause many students to make mistakes, (3) types of mistakes made by the students, (4) the location of the dominant student‚??s misconceptions, and (5) the main cause of the student‚??s misconceptions. Content analysis was used in descriptive quantitative research. The sources of the data were the student answer sheets and National Exam booklet. The results show that (1) the underlying attributes of the elementary school mathematics examination items are of 67 kinds, 4 attributes of the contents, 60 attributes of the process, and 3 skills attributes; (2) the materials which cause many students to make mistakes is a matter of geometry and measurement; (3) the highest type of error is in the number of procedural errors, in ge¬≠ometry and measurement concepts, and in the interpretation of the data processing; (4) the dominant mis¬≠conception deals with arithmetic and basic concepts of numbers, with geometry and measurement, and with data processing of statistics; and (5) the main cause of the errors on the concept of numbers is inap¬≠propriate implemention of arithmetic operations, misunderstanding the concept of exponential number, misapplication of formulas and concepts, and misunderstanding the concept of mean, median and mode.Keywords: misconceptions, attributes, mathematics, national examsAbstrak: Analisis Kesalahan Konsep Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Ujian Nasional Matematika SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan informasi (1) atribut yang mendasari butir soal, (2) materi yang menyebabkan kesalahan, (3) jenis kesalahan, (4) letak kesalahan konsep, dan (5) penyebab utama kesalahan konsep yang dilakukan siswa dalam UN Matematika SD. Penelitian ini termasuk deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis konten. Sumber data berupa lembar jawaban siswa dan soal UN Matematika SD Tahun 2012/2013 di Kota Kediri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) atribut yang mendasari butir soal ada 67 atribut; (2) materi yang menyebabkan siswa banyak melakukan kesalahan adalah materi geometri dan pengukuran; (3) jenis kesalahan tertinggi pada kesalahan prosedur, kesalahan konsep, dan kesalahan penafsiran; (4) letak kesalahan konsep yang dominan adalah konsep dasar arithmetic, konsep dasar bilangan, konsep dasar geometri dan pengukuran, konsep dasar statistika; (5) penyebab utama kesalahan konsep adalah tidak menerapkan operasi hitung dengan tepat, tidak me¬≠mahami konsep bilangan berpangkat, tidak menerapkan rumus, konsep, atau sifat-sifat bangun dengan tepat; tidak memahami konsep rata-rata, median, dan modus.Kata kunci: kesalahan konsep, matematika, ujian nasional

Abstract

Abstract: Loyalty of Laptop Users at Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School Malang. This study reports on¬† loyalty of laptop users seen from product attributes, brand image, and purchas¬≠ing decision. A descrip¬≠tive-correlational research design was employed and a structural equation model was used to analyze the inter-variable relationships. Eighty five students of Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School were randomly and proportionally sampled from the population of 109 students, based on the three brands of laptop mostly used during the period of two years, namely Acer, Toshiba, and Asus. The research findings reveal that there are relationships among variables under study, but brand image and purchasing decision do not cor¬≠relate with laptop users‚?? loyalty.Keywords: customer loyalty, brand image, purchasing decision, product atributesAbstrak. Loyalitas terhadap Merek Laptop di Kalangan Mahasiswa Pesantren. Artikel ini mema¬≠parkan loyalitas mahasiswa pengguna laptop ditinjau dari atribut produk, citra merek, dan keputusan pembelian. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mempergunakan desain deskriptif korelasional dan teknik analisis model persamaan struktural untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel. Populasi penelitian sejumlah 109 Santri Pesantren Mahasiswa Al-Hikam Malang dengan sampel sebanyak 85 responden yang diambil secara acak proporsional didasarkan pada tiga merek dengan pengguna terbanyak selama 2 tahun berturut-turut, yaitu produk Laptop merk Acer, Toshiba, dan Asus. Hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa terdapat hubungan antar variabel-variabel yang diteliti, kecuali untuk variabel citra merk dan keputusan pembe¬≠lian yang tidak berhubungan dengan loyalitas pengguna laptop.Kata kunci: loyalitas pelanggan, citra merek, keputusan pembelian, atribut produk

Abstract

Abstract: Developing Interactive CD-based Learning Resource for the Course on Family Economy. This study was aimed at developing interactive CD-based learning resource for the course on Family Economy at the Family Welfare Education Study Programme, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The ten stages of reseach and development method by Borg & Gall was employed in the study. This product was designed to have key features that allow the users to easily understand the materials. The materials were developed in view of the curriculum and validated by experts‚??linguists and media ex¬≠perts‚??and users. The product has shown to be easy to understand (98.33%), easy to use (96.67%), and able to display menus quickly (95%). The product was also attractive (96.67%), motivating (100%); satis¬≠factory (96.67%). All this has made the users want to use the product as a learning resource (98.33%), which means that the product has been made to be an effective source of learning.Keywords: learning resources, interactive CD, family economy, family welfare educationAbstrak: Pengembangan Sumber Belajar Ekonomi Keluarga Berbasis CD Interaktif. Tujuan penelitian mengembangkan sumber belajar berbasis CD Interaktif ekonomi keluarga pada Program Studi Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan 10 langkah dari Borg & Gall. Hasil pengembangan berupa sumber belajar CD Interaktif disertai animasi tentang ekonomi keluarga dan kesetimbangan ekonomi keluarga. Konten produk berupa materi sesuai kurikulum, serta validasi dari ahli materi, ahli bahasa, ahli media, dan pengguna. Produk sebagai sumber belajar efektif karena sesuai tujuan pembelajaran, metode pembelajaran, skenario/alur cerita, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan materi mudah dipahami (98.33%); cara penggunaan produk cepat dipahami (96.67%); produk dapat menampilkan menu-menu dengan cepat (95%); produk menarik perhatian (96,67%); produk memotivasi mahasiswa mempelajari ekonomi keluarga (100%); pengguna puas menggunakan produk (96,67%); pengguna ingin menggunakan produk sebagai sumber belajar (98,33%).Kata kunci: sumber belajar, berbasis CD Interaktif, ekonomi keluarga, pendidikan kesejahteraan keluarga

Abstract

Abstract: The Impacts of Group Problem Solving on Students‚?? Learning Motivation, Critical Thinking, and Learning Achievements. The aim of this study was to know the impacts of the imple¬≠mentation of group problem solving on the students‚?? learning motivation, critical thinking, and learning achievements on concept and algorithm. This quasi-experimental research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research samples were the students of XI grade of Science 1 (problem solving class) and XI grade of Science 3 (expository class) at the Public Senior High School 6, Malang. The study was carried out in the 2013/2014 academic year. The results show that the students‚?? learning motivation, criti¬≠cal thinking, and conceptual and algorithmic learning achievements in the problem solving class are higher than those in the expository class.Keywords: problem solving, learning motivation, critical thinking, learning achievementsAbstrak. Penelitian kuasi eks¬≠perimen ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 (kelas problem solving) dan XI IPA 3 (kelas ekspositori) SMAN 6 Malang tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Abstract

Abstract: Determining Q-Matrix Value of DINA Model for Diagnostic-Test Item Construction. This study measures an efficient Q-matrix value using Monte Carlo simulation. The simulated Q-matrix, ob¬≠tained from the simulation conducted based on the real data set of the responses of the seventh graders of middle schools, has 3, 4, and 5 attributes. The middle schools include SMPN 1 Panjatan Kulon Progo, SMPN 1 Sanden Bantul, and SMPN 1 Yogyakarta. The information criteria value used in determining the efficient Q-matrix are the Akaike value (AEC) and the Bayesian (BIC). The simulation results in Q4√?3 matrix for the 3 attributes, Q6√?4 matrix for the 4 attributes, and Q6√?5 for the 5 attributes. Those matrixes are recommended in developing diagnostic test items within DINA model framework. In other words, in the development of diagnostic-test items,the Q-matrix should have more attributes than the number of the test items.Keywords: DINA, Q-matrix, and Monte CarloAbstrak: Menentukan Ukuran Matriks Q pada Model Dina untuk Dijadikan Dasar Menyusun Item Tes Diagnostik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mencari ukuran matriks Q yang efisien melalui simulasi Monte Carlo. Matriks Q yang disimulasikan memiliki 3, 4 dan 5 atribut. Simulasi dilakukan berdasarkan pada data riil yang diperoleh dari jawaban siswa kelas VIII SMP, yaitu SMPN 1 Panjatan Kulon Progo, SMPN 1 Sanden Bantul, dan SMPN 1 Yogyakarta. Untuk memilih matriks Q yang efisien digunakan nilai information criteria berupa nilai Akaike (AIC) dan Bayesian (BIC). Hasil simulasi menunjukkan: matriks Q4√?3 (untuk 3 atribut), Q6√?4 (untuk 4 atribut), dan Q6√?5 (untuk 5 atribut) merupakan ukuran matriks yang direkomendasikan ketika menyusun item tes diagnostik pada model DINA.
