Abstract

Public Law #14 of 2005 on Teachers and University Lecturers, does not look like it would deliver what was expected, because it employs teacher competency standards that is ontologically flawed, and confuses "Pendidikan Profesi" and Consecutive Professional Teacher Education. Additionally, the guideline of "Pendidikan Profesi" in Teaching, also turns out to only strew in managerial mishaps ensconced in phraseological tics.

Abstract

The study tries to investigate the utilization of intellectual creative skills within the framework of the triarchic theory of intelligence in reading activities. The subject in which the theory was applied was Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian). This experimental study involved randomly selected seventh graders of Junior High School. There were three hypotheses to test in the study. First, the order of the three types of intellectual skills suggested in the triarchic theory of intelligence presented during training as well as during instruction has effects on students performance in attempting creative solution to problems derived from reading texts in the subject of Bahasa Indonesia. Multiple comparisons were employed to test this hypothesis. Second, there is a significant difference in creative problem solving performances between the experimental and the control groups. Analysis of variance was carried out to test this hypothesis. Third, scholastic aptitude has a role in predicting the creative problem solving performance. ANACOVA was employed to test this hypothesis. The results show that the students show the best performance when they are trained using the thinking order of practice-synthesis-analysis.

Abstract

This study is intended to develop a model of Junior High School which can accommodate the teaching-learning needs of SLTP located in a remote area. The model is intended to be one which best utilizes the infrastructure and social resources or potential of the area. This study purposively selected the village of Leling in the sub-district of Kalumpang, Mamuju, South Celebes as the setting to carry out the exploration and action. The exploratory activities show that the selected area has the necessary resources to implement the model of SLTP using web-partnership management. This web-partnership management promotes the potential of the area so that the related parties are engaged in planning, implementing, and controlling the educational programs to achieve their shared goals. The model development activities realize the model consisting of organizational structure in the form of web the school elements or units of which, to reach the student home-base, are headed by a school associate principals. Within the context of village, the school associate principals are autonomous in their activities. Even though the model is established in view of maximizing the potential of remote areas, the model can also be transferred to different and not necessarily remote areas
