Abstract

Determinant of the selection of long-term contraceptive methods on family planning acceptors in Pedamaran community health center.  The population problem faced by Indonesia is a large population with a low quality of life. Uncontrolled population rate will cause baby booming so information needs to be disseminated about the benefits of family planning (FP). Long-term contraceptive method has a high level of effectiveness and can reduce the rate of population growth. This study aim to determine the factors that affect the selection of long-term contraceptive methods in active family planning acceptors. This study used a cross-sectional study design and using simple random sampling technique, consisted of 243 acceptors. Analyzes of data were univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square test with α = 0.05 and 95% confidence interval value, and multivariate analysis using binary logistic regression.Based on multivariate analysis was the variables significantly related to the selection of long-acting contraception include age (p = 0.01; OR = 2,24; 95% CI: 1,17-4,29), education (p = 0.01; OR = 0,31; 95% CI: 0,13-0,75) and number of children (p = 0.03; OR = 2; 95% CI: 1,05-3,81). Thus, age was the variable that had the greatest impact on determining the selection of long-acting contraception. The acceptors with ≥ 35 years old, low educated and have >2 children more likely to choose long-acting contraception. It is hoped that family planning workers can educate and persuade people of all ages with different educational backgrounds so total fertility rate can be reduce.

The subjects in this study were the Head of the Sub-Section of the Administration of the City of Matsum Health Center which was taken based on purposive sampling. The data used in the form of primary data taken by conducting direct interviews and observation. Check the validity of the data using the triangulation method. The HIS City Health Center Matsum performance evaluation was conducted using a version of HMN version 4.0 by assessing various components of HIS. The results of evalution that have been conducted at the city Health Center in Matsum, from the six HIS components according to the HMN instrument, none of the components were included in the “not adequate” category with the highedst score on the Dissemination and Use Components while the lowest score was in the Data Management Component. The conclusion of this study is that the HMN-based Health Information System at Matsum City Health Center has been running quite well but still needs to be improved especially regarding data processing.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a major public health problem in Indonesia where the number of reported cases per February 2019 reached 16.692 cases with 169 deaths. North Sumatera is an endemic area of dengue fever with a number of cases in 2017 of 5.454 and an IR number of 49 per 100.000 higher than the national target figure. Challenges on input indicators make the DHF eradication program run less optimally. Method: This research  was an qualitative study, which research design was a case study. The location taken in this study at the North Sumatera Provincial Health Office, the study was conducted from October to December 2018. The informants studied were 2 people. The research subjects were taken based on purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out by in-depth interviews and observations, with research instruments in the form of interview guidelines and observation guidelines. Results: Analysis of input indicators in the DHF  eradication program at the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office found findings of Human Resources consisting of 2 doctors, 1 sanitarian staff and 1 expert epidemiologist (S2), still lacking funds in the DHF program. and the infrastructure of the DHF program consists of 2 liters of insecticide, 100 Rapid tests, 300 bottles of larvacide, and extension media in the form of banners. Conclusions and suggestions: Input indicators on the eradication program of dengue hemorrhagic fever at the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office have been fulfilled, namely on human resources and infrastructure, while the challenges of the DHF program in the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office are funding and counseling media. Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction, to establish a drinking water depot business, entrepreneurs are required to follow the conditions set by the government. Based on an initial survey of 85 water depots in Simeulue District, only 27 depots met the requirements for healthy drinking water, but as many as 35 depots did not meet the applicable provisions. Objective, the purpose of this study is to find out the guidance and supervision of the Health Office on the Quality of Refill Drinking Water Depots. The method, the research design used in this study was Cross Sectional. The population in this study was 65 depots of drinking water and samples taken by total sampling were 65 depots of drinking water. Data collection methods are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used is binary logistic regression test. Results, the results showed that coaching had a sig-p value of .004 < .05 and supervision had a sig-p value of .001 < .05 meaning that coaching and supervision had a significant influence on the Quality of Refill Drinking Water Depots. Results The odds ratio also shows that coaching is the most dominant factor, where coaching has an influence on the quality of refill drinking water depots as much as 39 times compared to poor coaching. Conclusion, the conclusion in this study is the influence of guidance and supervision on the quality of refill drinking water depots in Simeulue Regency. Keywords : Development, Supervision, Drinking Water Refills

AbstractProblems with diarrhea are still a relatively large problem. In 2017 the number of diarrhea among toddlers in Indonesia was 40.07% and there were 21 times diarrhea outbreaks in 12 provinces, 17 districts / cities. Jambi Province in 2017 the prevalence of diarrhea in infants is 43.79%. In the city of Jambi the prevalence of diarrhea in children under five was 6.5%. This study aims to look at the risk factors for diarrhea in infants. This research is a quantitative research with case control research design. Case samples were 30 people and control samples were 60 people, the comparison of the number of cases and controls was 1: 2, then the number of samples in the study were 90 toddlers. Data collection was done by filling out questionnaires with univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. The analysis showed that there was a relationship between hand washing with soap and running water (p - value = 0.013 & OR = 3,824), exclusive breastfeeding (p - value = 0,000 & OR = 5,902), nutritional status (p - value = 0,001 & OR = 6,625), Latrine Quality (p - value = 0.001 & OR = 5,035) and source of clean water (p - value = 0,009 & OR = 4,333) on the incidence of diarrhea in children under five. Variables that are at risk for the incidence of diarrhea in infants are hand washing with soap and running water, exclusive breastfeeding, nutritional status, latrine quality and clean water sourcesKeywords: risk factors; diarrhea; Children
