Abstract

Visual inspection method using helicopter equipped with infrared and ultraviolet camera is often employed to check the transmission status of power line, but it is so expensive and unsafe relative to using power line robot to implement crack detection of power line. In this paper a new measuring method is proposed using metal magnetic memory non-destructive (MMMNDT) to to automatically detect defects or abnormal conditions based on a completely autonomous mobile platform capable of a meaningful payload for signal data processing. In this work one kind of brand-new mechanical structure has been designed for inspection robot, and some important parts of the mechanical structure have been fully explained. At the same time, a detection system of the robot has been designed based on MMMNDT. The results of experiments about the crack detection of power line show that the robot can satisfactorily span obstacles automatically and fulfill the specified inspection tasks, experiment results of the detection system verified that this diagnosis system is feasible and can be applied to power line detection.

Abstract

This study proposes a fuzzy sliding mode control strategy to realize wind energy conversion optimization based on doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). Its operational points in partial load zone can be electronically controlled. Chattering in wind energy conversion sliding mode control system is greatly alleviated based on fuzzy switching gain adjustment. The purposes including the maximum power point tracking, decoupling control of active and reactive power of fed induction generation system are fulfilled. Fitful and random wind speeds are mathematical modeled.  Simulation results verified  effectiveness and feasibility of  the proposed control strategy  under the two types of wind speed and indicate that the whole control system has better robustness against uncertainties and can guarantee the power quality.

Abstract

With the wind turbines being produced toward to large scale and light weight, the flexibility of blade, drive mechanism and tower increase apparently. Loads suffered by wind turbines during operation become increasingly intricate. Some control approaches could be used to cut down these loads in orde to expand life cycle of generating sets. Aiming at the full load operation zone above rated wind speed, conventional control target is only considering rotating speed of wind turbine and without considering the loads, such that these loads could not be restrained effectively. This paper proposes a multi-objective sliding mode pitch control approach based on a new double-power reaching law. It can control rotating speed of wind turbine and decrease balanced loads of tower, blade and drive mechanism. Simulation is implemented under Matlab/Simulink and the results verified effectiveness of the designed control scheme.

Abstract

For the networked control systems with uncertain time delay in both sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator channels, and data dropouts in sensor-to-controller channel, a new model of networked control systems based on state estimation is proposed using single-exponential smoothing method to predict the state variables. After adopting Lyapunov stability theory, the asymptotic stability for the system has been proved, and the Robust Controller has been designed by using linear matrix inequality. In the simulation experiment, comparing the state responses under different situations of diverse time delay and data dropouts, the results show that the method is effective.

Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) suffers from a high peak to average power ratio(PAPR).  Tone reservation (TR) technology is considered as one of the most promising methods because of no additional distortion, no side information, and low implementation cost. However, in all PAPR reduction schemes,determining the optimal target clipping level is difficult. In this paper, we consider an adaptive amplitude least squares approximation(AALAS-TR) algorithm. Adjust adaptive optimal convergence factor for initial clipping threshold. That is results an approximately PAPR reduction performance with a low computational complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better PAPR reduction as that different clipping threshold .

Abstract

With the rapid development of china railway, ZPW-2000A track circuit has been widely used. Tuning area, which is an important part of the ZPW-2000A track circuit, is not only the relationship between the signal transmission quality, and determine the effect of electrical insulation between adjacent sections. Therefore, the study of fault diagnosis aspects for tuning area is urgent and significant. In this paper, using the theory of transmission line a model of track circuit is built, the comparison of the actual data and experimental data of the track surface voltage envelope curve shows the correctness of this model. Owning to the good time-frequency characteristics of wavelet and the nonlinear mapping features of neural network, a fault diagnosis of ZPW-2000A tuning area based on the wavelet neural network(WNN) is proposed. Combined with the practical failure situation of railway site, the fault diagnosis method in this paper can accurately identify failure modes of tuning area.

Abstract

In recent years, single object tracking has been extensively studied and achieved much development. However, multiple objects tracking is still an issue that remains to be addressed. Generally speaking, existing multiple objects tracking methods employ a manner of simultaneously tracking each object respectively. In this paper, we develop a multiple ship tracking algorithm based on deformable part model to accomplish multiple ship tracking in inland waterway CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) automated surveillance. Our method utilizes HOG features to construct the appearance models of ships. Then by taking full advantages of the spatial constrains between ships, we can successfully explore mutual relations for multiple ships, thus accomplishing multiple ship tracking in its true sense. Moreover, structured learning method is used to learn how to update the model parameters. Numerous experimental results on challenging inland waterway CCTV video sequences demonstrate that our method can effectively and accurately perform robust multiple ship tracking.

Abstract

Since there has been a strong demand from industry to have an efficient way of managing color image quality presented in different media, by specifically investigating partly changed complex images, this article proposed a revision to existing CIE color difference model which cannot give a proper color difference assessment on partly changed complex images. The key method applied is to find out weight coefficients of color attributes such as lightness, hue and chroma in color difference prediction.

Abstract

Tidal power can play a vital role in integrating as new source of renewable energy to the off-grid power connection in isolated areas, namely Sandwip, in Bangladesh. It can reduce the present energy crisis and improve the social, environmental and economical perspective of Bangladesh. Tidal energy is becoming popular around the world due to its own facilities. The development of any country largely depends on energy sector improvement. Lack of energy sector is because hampering of progress of any country development and energy sector will be stable by only depend on sustainable energy sources. Renewable energy is the only sustainable solution of secure energy which is environmental friendly. Bangladesh has a huge potential of tidal power at different locations but effective measure on this issue have not been considered sincerely. This paper summarizes the current energy scenario and Bangladesh can produce power approximately 53.19MW across the country to reduce the growing energy demand utilizing tidal energy as well as it is shown that Sandwip has high potential of producing tidal power which is approximately 16.49MW by investing only US $10.37 millions. Besides this, cost management for tidal power plant also has been discussed.

Abstract

This paper established the high limit penetration power of a certain area including wind power grid model in 30.084% value, in the high limit penetration power transmission network by small disturbance voltage influence. Through the power flow calculation power flow distribution of the viewing area, with the reactive power compensation voltage were optimized. The impact on the system voltage load disturbance by PV-QV curve analysis. And its system reactive power margin and other issues. By the above calculation, the grid is analyzed in access high wind power penetration limit under the feasibility and reliability of operation, and its impact on the static voltage grid system analysis. Make wind power grid reliable access high penetration power frontier research.
