Abstract

A unique motor drive unit (MDU) and motorcycle crash simulation unit (MCSU) were developed to establish a short-track and high-accuracy experiment system of motorcycle impact injury. The control hardware of the MDU consists of a “two DC motors” system and a “two drums, closed-loop, friction transmission” system, and the control software of the MDU has a novel “carriage acceleration profile control program” which was specially set up to prevent the cusp-like pulse and oscillation phenomenon in the acceleration stage close to the uniform velocity. The unique motorcycle sled and energy absorber constitute a novel MCSU. Research results show that: (1)Using a unique generation algorithm of the carriage acceleration- and velocity-time curve and unique manufacturing techniques of hardware components, the apparatus presented in this paper has a potential to become the first short-track experiment system of motorcycle impact injury. (2)Due to a high weight capacity with the ability to propel whole vehicles, the MDU can be used in the full motorcycle/full vehicle crash tests or vehicle component sled impact tests.

Abstract

Collision avoidance behavior is always about maintaining free collision between virtual objects. It is also about generating evasion routing for the agents in virtual environment such as in crowd simulation. It consists of three processes which are construction of Field of Vision, Collision handling and collision response. Constructing field of vision is always a daunting task and always in enigma for the designer because it is subjected towards agent’s perception which is varies to each of them. There are few attempts on designing field of vision based on the agent’s dynamic focus toward its surrounding. Therefore, we present a top down approach study from crowd simulation modeling until the collision handling level in order to identify the suitable crowd modeling for our approach. Hence, at the end of this paper we will be able to discuss the possible techniques for constructing agent’s field of vision and analyze its potential in crowd simulation environment.

Abstract

In this Paper a new type of wavelength demultiplexer using ring resonators in 2D triangular photonic crystal is presented. The designed demultiplexer contents two regions which each own a resonator. Two dielectric constants are used in this demultiplexer. These structures which are called hetero have the capability to be used in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems. The average transferred power for the two output channels is about 93%. The crosstalk between output channels was more than -18.5dB, also the overall size of the structure was about 144µm2 which is so appropriate for fabrication and integration.

Abstract

High dimensionality is one of the most troublesome difficulties encountered in intrusion detection system analysis and application. For high dimension data, feature selection not only can improve the accuracy and efficiency of classification, but also discover informative subset. Combining Filter type and Wrapper type characteristics, this paper proposes a hybrid type method for feature selection using a improved genetic algorithm contained reward and punishment mechanism. The mechanism can guarantee this algorithm rapid convergence on approximate global optimal solution. According to the experimental results, this algorithm performs well and its time complexity is low. Abstract

Recital costing of Joints in human running is biometrics evaluation technology. It has skillful series of realizations in scientific research in the last decade. In this work, we present a human running joints (hip, knee and ankle) valuation recital based on the statistical computation techniques. We use the One-way ANOVA, least significant difference (LSD) test and Bartletts test for equality of variances to determine which joint has more variation with others joints during human running gait. These three joints rotation angle data were computed from the Biovision Hierarchical data (BVH) motion file, because these joints provide the richest information of the human lower body joints (hip, knee and ankle). The use of BVH file to estimate the participation and performance of the joints during running gait is a novel feature of our study. The experimental results indicated that, the knee joint has the decisive influence (variation) as compared to the other two joints, hip and ankle, during running gait.

Abstract

Controllable alternating induction magnetic field generation technology which induces plant seeds to breed on floor space has been developed. The incentive ferrite induction coil is used in the device to produce induced magnetic field. The common AC-DC-AC topology was adopted for the variable frequency power supply, realizing the VF. AC-DC-AC AC power inverter circuit adopts SPWM inverter frequency modulation and voltage regulation mode, realizing the effect of sinusoidal variable. In order to improve the conversion efficiency of the system electrical energy to magnetic energy, the RLC series resonant circuit is chosen in the circuit of output magnetic field. The induction magnetic field in the air gap is the work area for seeds experiment. Its adjustable frequency range: 20~200Hz, adjustable field range: 0~500Gs. The experimental study of rice seeds shows that different magnetic environment has a significant impact on the biological characteristics of rice seeds.

Abstract

In the paper, we propose a scheme about a low-cost remote healthcare monitor system based on embedded server between home and hospital. In the scheme, we design an embedded server based on an ARM9 microprocessor. The embedded server supplies all kinds of interfaces such as GPIO interfaces, serial interfaces. These interfaces can acquire all kinds of physiology signals such as Electrocardiograph, heart rate, respiration wave, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body temperature and so on through connecting the sensor modules. The network is based on local area network and adopts the Browser/Server model. Each home with an embedded server is as a server endpoint and the hospital is as a Browser endpoint. Every embedded server owns an independent static internet protocol address. The doctors can easily acquire patients’ physiology information through writing patients’ internet protocol address on any computer browser. The embedded server can store patients’ physiology information using database in an 8 GB SD card. The doctor can download the database information into the local computers. The system can conveniently upgrade all software in the embedded server only on a remote hospital computer. The remote healthcare monitor system based on embedded server has advantages of low-cost, convenience and feasibility.

Abstract

Due to the unique characteristics of underwater sensor network (UWSN), conventional network protocols for terrestrial WSN are unable to satisfy the performance of UWSN. In addition, the limits of energy, CPU and memory of UWSN nodes demand the protocol stack running on them should be simple and efficient. The paper proposed a Micro-ANP protocol architecture model for UWSN, which are three layered including application layer, network-transport layer and physical layer, optimized packet size using three objective functions: packet throughput, energy consumption and resource consumption under Micro-ANP architecture by means of MATLAB, designed and implemented UWSN simulation platform based on Micro-ANP and QualNet software, lay a solid foundation for further research on underwater sensor network.

Abstract

Sitting postures affect their safety in wheelchair for persons with the disability or the elder people. In this paper, we built the body pressure collection system; it is explored the relationship between the pressure distributions and sitting posture; based on daily sitting posture of disabled and older people , the eight states is summarized that people sit on the wheelchair, and using density-based clustering methods establish the evaluation model of difference sitting postures. The instances verify that the model can accurately predict the relations between pressure distribution and sitting postures.

Abstract

This paper proposes a method calculating total transfer capability(TTC) and critical voltage using static power model based on real-time recording data, traditional power system dispatching calculation doesn’t consider load model, which does not agree with the real, this paper compares TTC and critical voltage under different load model and P-V curves, on which load model has a strong influence, so load modeling is necessary based on real-time data and is significant for improving system stability. The simulations show necessity and suitability of the method.
