Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the nutrient content of bokashi fertilizers that matched the SNI compost quality standards and the best bokashi and chrysanthemum mixture dosages and the effect of increasing the best chemical status on post-coal mine soil. This research was conducted for two 2 months. The land for this research was taken from post-coal mine land in the Loa Bakung area, Samarinda. The place for conducting research is carried out on Jl. Jakarta Blok BN No 36. Loa Bakung, Samarinda. The method used in this study is descriptive and comparative. This research has 2 stages, namely the first stage of making bokashi kiapu and krinyu mixture and the second stage of the incubation process of post-coal mine soil with a treatment dose that is soil without bokashi, soil with a dose of bokashi 17.5 g polybags, 20 g polybags and 22.5 g polybags, each repeated 3 times. Then analyzed at the Soil Science Laboratory, Mulawarman University Faculty of Agriculture, with parameters pH, C/N ratio, C-organic, N, P, K. Bokashi analysis data based on 2004 SNI Compost Quality Standards and soil analysis data based on soil chemical review status which was developed by the Bogor Soil Research Center in 2009. The results of this study showed that the bokashi mixture of kiapu and krinyu had an effect on increasing soil chemical properties in post-coal mine land, the status of bokashi according to SNI, 22.5% organic C had not matched the quality standard, pH 8.87 not yet according to quality standards, N 1.86% according to quality standards, C/N 12.11 according to quality standards, P 0.98 ppm according to quality standards, and K 2.11 ppm according to quality standards. The best application is at a dose of 22.5 g polybags with a rise at week 4, namely pH 4.94 with acidic status, organic C 2.71% with moderate status, N 0.16% with low status, C/N ratio 16 , 08 with high status, P 31.85 ppm with high status, and K 120.41 ppm with very high status.

Abstract

The area of paddy fields in Malinau Kota District is around 463 ha or 10.29 percent of the productive paddy in Malinau Regency which reaches 4,500 ha. The productivity of rice in the area is still low, which is around 3-4 ton ha-1, its caused by the use of fertilizers that are not yet suitable for plant growth requirement. Therefore, in order to improve rice productivity, it is necessary to do soil analysis to formulate spesific location fertilizer recommendations based on soil nutrient status. The assessment was carried out in Malinau District, Malinau Regency, on September-November 2017. The purpose of the asseement was to develop recommendations for fertilizing specific location lowland rice based on soil nutrient status. The assessment method is to take composite soil samples from several representative locations, then analyze in the laboratory, and the results of the analysis are used to formulate recommendations for specific location lowland rice fertilization. The results of soil analysis showed that soil pH was acid, organic C-content was low, N-tot was low, P was medium and K was medium. Recommendations of N fertilization with Urea as the basic fertilizer 50-100 kg ha-1 and subsequent N fertilization based on leaf color chart (LCC), P fertilization with SP-36 as much as 100 kg ha-1, and K fertilization with KCl as much as 50 kg ha-1.

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain hybridization which has superior character and to know the agronomic and morphological characters of F1 generation from reciprocal crossof Kambang/Pandan Ungu//Pandan Ungu, this research uses a reciprocal cross method (cross between F1 from a single cross with male elders) to produce F1 plants that will change the morphological and agronomic character. This research was conducted at the screen house area in the Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University, Until the of January 2018 to September 2018. The results of this identification showed that from 161 spikelet castrated obtained as many as 60 grains with a percentage of fertility 37.27%, and then sowing as many as 30 seeds (50%), plants that successfully grew and could be used there were 21 plants (70%) character morphology and agronomic on F1 plants more dominant in the character of Pandan Ungu rice. The dominan characters are leaf color, ligula color, uricle color, midrib color, leaf surface, stigma color, grain end color, lemma and palea color, number of wildings, breed ability, number of productive wildingss, panicle type, yellowing of leaves, diameter of root stock, and harvesting the crop.

Abstract

Banana is one of the fruit commodities that are consumed by many people. Banana dwarf disease is an important disease in Indonesia.This study aims to identify the characteristics of BBTV attack symptoms on banana plants and the physical characteristics of banana plants which are attacked by different planting patterns, sanitation and weed control.This research was carried out in several sub-districts in Kutai Kartanegara District, namely Samboja sub-district, Muara Jawa sub-district, Loa Janan sub-district, Muara Badak sub-district, Loa Kulu sub-district. The method used is the survey method, which is direct observation in the field using a modified score based on the appearance of the sick morphology of the plant (Brooks, 1999).Data obtained from each plot was processed to determine the intensity of each-plot disease using the formula for calculating disease severity (Agrios, 1997). Disease intensity data are compared based on sampling land conditions. Based on the results of a survey conducted at several observation points spread across 5 sub-districts, it can be concluded that the symptom severity is higher in mixed-crop, uses sanitation and weed control compared to monoculture, without sanitation and weed control. The average score of the assessment is a score of 3 with characteristics: (1) the edges of the leaves turn yellow quite severe, (2) the narrowing of the leaves or twisting (3) the occurrence of distortion, dwarf and necrosis (4) found more than four infected banana stems in clump.

Abstract

The aim of study is to assessing soil fertility status on post-mining land in the area PT. Trubaindo Coal Mining, West Kutai, East Kalimantan Province. Assessment of soil fertility is determined based on the method developed by Bogor Soil Research Institute (2005), that is by using descriptive comparative method where the data from the soil analysis are then compared with the standard criteria for soil chemical properties and the criteria for assessing soil fertility status developed. The results showed the status of the average value of the soil pH 4.62 (acid), C-Organic 1.08% (low), Nitrogen 0.09% (very low), Phosphorus 2.15 ppm (very low), Pottasium 65.53 ppm (very high), Cation Exchange Capacity 6.29 meq100g-1 (low), and Base Saturation 44,83 % (moderate). Soil of post mining land in PT. Trubaindo Coal Mining have a?low? fertility status, so further management action is needed to improve soil fertility status.

Abstract

East Kalimantan has a fairly extensive ex-coal mining area. Continuous mining activities cause severe land damage with a dramatically reduced nutrient. The application of organic farming can be one of the solutions to improve ex-mining land. One of the plants that can be applied is Situ Bagendit Rice. Rice Bagendit varieties are dry land rice which is resistant to pests and blast disease. The use of market waste, MOL golden snail, and Trichoderma. Sp as organic material can increase productivity in Bagendit rice plants there and be able to repair damage to ex-coal mine land. The aim of this study was to compare market waste, MOL golden snail and Trichoderma sp to Bagendite rice plant growth. This study used the RAL method (Completely Randomized Design) with 9 treatments and 3 replications. B0 control (soil without additives), B1 compost market waste and Trichoderma sp with a dose of 100 g/polybag, B2 market waste waste compost and MOL golden snail with a dose of 100 g/polybag, B3 compost market waste and Trichoderma sp with 200 g/polybag, B4 market waste compost and MOL golden snail with a dose of 200 g/polybag, B5 market waste compost and Trichoderma sp with a dose of 300 g/polybag, B6 market waste compost and MOL golden snail with a dose of 300 g/polybag, B7 market waste compost and Trichoderma sp with a dose of 400 g/polybag, B8 market waste compost and MOL golden snail with a dose of 400 g/polybag. The results showed that Trichoderma sp market waste compost fertilizer and golden snail market MOL waste compost each had a significant effect on the productivity of bagendite rice plants. In addition, MOL market golden snail waste compost with the best dosage of 400 g/polybag is able to produce harvested dry grain production of around 2.8 tons/ha.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan di Kalimantan Timur sebagai lahan pertanian dihadapkan pada kendala tingkat kesuburannya, terutama 13 dalam mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman jagung semi. Upaya perbaikan tingkat kesuburan tanah dapat dilakukan dengan penambahan 14 bahan organik berupa pupuk eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) yang diolah dengan aktivator Trichoderma sp. 15 Trichoderma sp merupakan aktivator dan biodekomposer yang dapat mengubah eceng gondok menjadi kompos yang lebih bermutu, 16 sehingga tanaman jagung yang ditambahkan pupuk eceng gondok ini dapat menghasilkan produksi yang optimal. Tujuan penelitian 17 adalah mengetahui respons pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung semi terhadap penambahan berbagai dosis pupuk eceng gondok 18 dengan aktivator Tricoderma sp. dan dosis terbaik pupuk eceng gondok dengan aktivator Tricoderma sp. yang dapat menghasilkan 19 pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung semi terbaik. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan faktor perlakuan 20 dosis pupuk eceng gondok, yang terdiri atas 5 taraf, yaitu: 0; 3,5; 7; 10,5; dan 14 kg per-petak pupuk eceng gondok. Data dianalisis 21 dengan Uji F. Data yang menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil pada taraf 5%. Respons 22 tanaman jagung semi dengan perlakuan berbagai macam dosis pupuk eceng gondok dengan aktivator Trichoderma sp. 23 ditunjukkan melalui pengaruh nyata pada variabel tinggi tanaman umur 30 hari setelah tanam (HST) dan pada saat panen, diameter 24 batang umur 30 HST dan pada saat panen, berat tongkol tanpa kelobot, dan panjang tongkol tanpa kelobot. Dosis pupuk eceng gondok 25 dengan aktivator Trichoderma sp. sebesar 14 kg per-petak atau setara dengan 20 Mg per-hektar mampu menghasilkan berat tongkol 26 tanpa kelobot sebesar 17,95 g per-tanaman.

Abstract

The use of coconut water, green bean sprouts and onions is chosen as natural growth regulator because it is easily obtained at a fairly affordable price. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of various natural growth regulator different concentrations to the growth of cempedak (Artocarpus champeden Lour.) seedlings.The research was conducted from May to July 2018 in the garden of the Tissue Culture Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design with five replications. The first factor was the types of growth regulator, namely: coconut water, green bean sprout extract, and onion extract. The second factor was the concentration of the natural growth regulator substances,consisted of five treatment levels, namely: 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mL L-1. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, fresh weight (leaves, stems and roots), dry weight (leaves, stems and roots) and leaf area. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance with F-test and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test with a level of 5%. The results showed that there was no interaction between the type and concentration level of the natural growth regulator to the growth of cempedak seedlings.The growth regulator concentrationalso had no significant effect to all growth parameters observed. However, of the type of natural growth regulators showed a significant in the fresh root weight,stem dry weight, and plant height at harvest time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis jamur endofit yang terdapat pada tanaman padi serta potensinya sebagai pengendali hama atau entomopatogen. Jamur endofit merupakan mikroorganisme yang terdapat didalam jaringan tanaman yang mengandung senyawa yang dapat memberikan ketahanan pada tanaman inang dari serangan Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua kegiatan, yaitu kegiatan lapangan dan kegiatan laboratorium. Kegiatan lapangan yaitu pengambilan sampel tanaman padi yang sehat. Kegiatan di Laboratorium meliputi isolasi, identifikasi dan uji entomopatogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jamur endofit yang teridentifikasi pada tanaman padi dari dua lokasi penelitian yaitu di Desa Karang Tunggal, Tenggarong Seberang dan Kelurahan Tanah Merah, Samarinda Utara terdapat 4 jenis, yaitu Metarhizium sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus sp., dan Trichoderma sp. Sementara itu jenis jamur endofit yang berpotensi sebagai jamur entomopatogen yang memberikan mortalitas tertinggi terhadap ulat hongkong adalah Metarhizium sp. dan Penicillium sp.

Abstract

Assassin Bug, Sycanus annulicornis Dohrn. (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) is one of the predatory polyphagous insects that has the potential to be used as a natural enemy in pest control in food crops, horticulture, plantations, and forestry plants. This study aimed to evaluate the biological aspects of S. annulicoris maintained with alternative feeds of Alphitobius larvae diaperinus Panzer. The results showed that S. annulicornis maintained with A. diaperinus larvae produced an egg incubation period of 19.0 ± 2.1 days, fecundity of 88.1 ± 46.0 eggs, fertility of 41.8 ± 11.4%, time of development of nymphs 82.4 ± 6.4 days, mortality of nymphs 53.5 ± 3.3%, duration of male and female imago: 36.3 ± 12.8 and 61.1 ± 18.1 days, male sex ratio: female 1: 4, and the male and female S. annulicornis imago life cycle: 118.7 ± 9.6 and 143.5 ± 12.3 days. The results showed that A. diaperinus larvae could be used as an alternative feed for mass propagation of S. annulicornis in an integrated pest control program.
