Abstract

A wise man said that the language showed his nation identity. The nation  dignified is they have a pride of using their own language. This expression is very urgent in view of the application raised public use of language is very worrying. This concern is justified because the results of the research team of West Kalimantan Provincial Language Institute in 2015 on the use of language in the public space outside Singkawang showed indifference writer in applying the correct language (mixed language). Erosion of language use outside the public sphere, indicating that the language does not have enough awareness and knowledge of the ideas of creativity in the language. Problems in this paper is the erosion of Indonesian by a foreign language on billboards in Singkawang. This paper describes the erosion of Indonesian by a foreign language on billboards in Singkawang. Descriptive method used in describing the findings in the field of data in this writing. The analysis showed that the erosion of the use of Indonesian by a foreign language, especially on billboards in Singkawang. The use of foreign languages is dominated by English and Chinese (Khek). Foreign language form of intervention in the form of code-mixing, code switching, and use a foreign language pure.

Abstract

Tembawang is specific therminology of Dayak people of West Borneo, which contains the local wisdom as a regulation system of Dayak People. The units in tembawang system are reflection of local diversity in West Borneo, The Equator Land. Therefore, the locality to be an object of this research. The title of this research is Locality in Bayang-Bayang Tembawang Antologi Puisi Penulis Kalimantan Barat. The locality means the events or the problem connected to West Borneo, either in the past and present, such as river culture. Description of poetries data applicate to find the specific locality of West Borneo, and then, it analized  through literary anthropology approach. Therefore the specific locality of West Kalimantan implemented in anthology. The spirit of locality increases and to be base on local therminology, tembawang.

Abstract

This study titled Motif story on Oral Literature of West Kalimantan. This study departs from the main issue, namely the motives on story people of West Kalimantan. Of overwhelming theories used in the study on oral literatures motif refers to the study of the theory of structuralism, which focuses on the elements of the storyline. In addition as a guide to the study of this motif is a pattern classification folklore motifs by Thomson. This study was supported methods of descriptive analysis.

Abstract

The Malay Pontianak on a variety of writing is very rare. This language has similarities with Indonesian. This fact leads to code-mixing. This study discusses the code-mixing in the Senyom Simpol rubric. The approach used in this research is sociolinguistic. The method used is quantitative descriptive. The theory used in the analysis is the theory of code-mixing and code switching expressed by Sumarsono (2007), Thelander (2004), Appel (1979), Fishman (2007) and several other experts. The conclusion is code-mixing that occurs within the rubric Senyom Simpol occur at the level of grapheme, morpheme, phrase, clause, and sentence. The causes of code-mixing is the author are not native speakers of Malay Pontianak.

Abstract

This study was to examine the meaning area of hand activities found in Malay language of Pontianak. The method used was descriptive method. The purpose of this study was to describe the existence of meaning area of hand activities which showed the meaning of inter lexemes-dealt structure. The result analysis showed that the lexeme grouping was based on the meaning components, which, in turn formed groups or sub area of specifics meanings. To determine the meaning components in which they were used to string such words which a meaning on each lexeme, the determination of formulation of its meta language was taken. In order to determine the meta language, it used guidance as a concept, such as hands or fingers, speed target, frequency, ways, and the purposes of the activities.

Abstract

Today, children literature no longer  written by  adults, but children can share their creativity and imagination in this literature. Some publishers accommodate this creativity by publishing children books  named PCPK and KKPK. Children books is very interesting because it is written, read and enjoyed by children. In writing the story, the children have different styles with adults. They reveal things according to their own world. In that regard, not an anomaly if the writer want to analize it,  especially in terms of narrative structure and children literature genre in KKPK. The purpose of this study to examine the narrative structure and children literature genre in the stories of  Ibuku Chayank, Muach! This study used descriptive qualitative method. Sources of data in this study is the short story Ibuku Chayank, Muach! written by young writers, Izzati. The results of this study indicate a narrative structure in any event intertwined with slick and straightforward. One event to another is presented with a sequence so that readers can easily understand the story. Genre Ibuku Chayank, Muach! is realism because  Ibuku Chayank, Muach ! tells about the life that happens in real life.

Abstract

This study analyzes the motivational speech language illocutionary Mario on social network facebook . The purpose of this study to describe the type speech illocutionary language Mario on social network facebook . The method in this research is descriptive . Data sourced from social networks facebook fun page in the form Mario in the period January 2016 Mechanical analasis data used in this study is a decisive element pilah techniques and pragmatic techniques in a unified method . The results of this study suggest that the type speech illocutionary used Mario on social networking facebook month period in January 2016 , including assertive , directive , commissive , expressive and declarative . Type speech illocutionary directive more assertive and dominant.

Abstract

Expression of anger in Pontianak Malay is the way how Pontianak Malay people in Kalimantan Barat get angry in Pontianak Malay, which are shown in furious activities, reflected in speech acts. Examples of anger expression are: beleter, ngambol, nyumpah, nyeranah, and pendek tongkeng. Béleter is talking too much, fussy, or speak without stop about the displeasure or disapproval. Beside béleter, there are other expressions of public anger in the Pontianak Malay expression which is ngambol. Ngambol is an expression of anger that are not frontal, by saying it in a tone of voice lilting and gentle but emphasize the word or sentence you wish “ambol”. It also called as ironic. Meanwhile, swearing and cursing in Pontianak in West Kalimantan Malay society known as “nyumpah” and “nyeranah”. Last but not least, expression of anger is “pendek tongkeng”. It is the silent anger expression when angry people usually only keep quiet. In Indonesian, “pendek tongkeng” commonly known as petulant or sulk also.
