Abstract

Teaching writing skill is one form of teaching language skills that must be mastered by students. One of the important writing activities carried out by students in school is the skill of drama scripts writing. However, in learning material for writing scripts, there were still many students learning outcomes that did not meet the KKM. The weakness of students in writing drama scripts was caused by various factors, such as the technique or approach used by the teacher was not appropriate and the learning materials provided were inadequate for students. So that the aim of the study was to produce a problem-based module in the learning of drama scripts writing. Further, the research subjects were eighth-grade students of SMPN 4 Siak Hulu amounting 36 students. The results of this study were valid, practical, and effective problem-based modules for eighth-grade students for learning drama scripts writing. It was also evidenced by the value of module validity of 91.41% with very valid criteria. The module practicality value was 83.82% with very practical criteria, while module practicality by students was 78.27% with practical criteria. Additionally, the effectiveness of the module consists of students’ evaluating the overall activity was 88.33% with very high criteria or very successful. On the other hand, the overall assessment of drama script writing was 84.04 with good qualifications.

Abstract

This study entitled "Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. The issues discussed in this research is how Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. This study aimed to collect information and data on the ability of reading comprehension, then the data and information collected are described, analyzed and interpreted in detail and systematically in order to know the true picture. The population in this study were all eighth grade students totaling 150 students consisting of five classes. The sample used is a sample random sampling which took 50% of the population, then collected a sample of 75 students. The method used in this research is descriptive method, a method that exposes / decipher data. The theory used is the theory of Henry Guntur Tarin (2008), Abdul Razak (1991), and (2005), Kundharu Saddhono and Slamet (2012). Data analysis was performed after the data collected and processed is calculated using the formula proposed by Anas Sudijono (1987: 43), after a large percentage of students answer is known, then connected with the assessment criteria set out Burhan Nurgiantoro (2001: 400). The study concluded Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the basic idea is categorized quite ie 74.64%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the explanatory idea is categorized quite ie 70.13%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the mandate / view categorized enough that the author is 74.40%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining which conclusions are categorized as being 64.00%. Overall concluded Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru is averaging 70.79% were categorized as adequate and acceptable hypothesis.

Abstract

The application of learning model, methode, and the technique in every learning process would create the better atmosphere in classroom and students’ activity. One of the methods that could be used was Poster Comment Method. This method was used in Classrom Action Research with the subject was Science and the material was Environmental Change in grade IV SDN 012 Koto Kari. The purpose of this research was to represent how the learning result improved as the Poster Comment Method was applied in Science with the material was Environmental Change in grade IV SDN 012 Koto Kari. This research used four steps of Classroom Action Research; planning, proceeding, observing, and reflecting. One cycle consisted those four steps while the research was done in two cycles. The result showed in beginning data, there were only 9 students passed or 47%. After the treatment was given, in cycle 1 it showed that 15 students or 78% students passed, and finally in the second cycle the data increased to be 18 students or 95% students passed out of 18 students.

Abstract

This article discusses the structure of phrases in Indonesia food wrappers. Phrase structure is a functional arrangement contained in a speech.The food wrapping that was the object of this study was specifically only on Indonesian food wrappers. That is, food warppers that use foreign language are not examined. The main theory used to refer to the phrase structure in this study was the opinion expressed by Sulistyowati (2012) and other opinions. Based on the analysis conducted  on food wrappers using Indonesian, it can be concluded that the phrases structure in Indonesian food wrappers found is 1) 1) FN ---> N1 + N2 (biskuit kelapa), 2) FN ---> N + V (kacang goreng); 3) FN ---> N + Adj (sambal hijau), 4) FV ---> V + N (serbu durian); 5) FNum ---> Num + N (dua kelinci); dan 6) FAdj ---> Adj + N (setia kawan). Thus, it can be affirmed that the phrases structure in Indonesian language food wrappers is more dominant to use the FN structure (nominal phrase) than other structures.

Abstract

This study presents the corresponding problem of affix forming the nominal reduplication of Banjar Hulu language. Language Banjar is a language used by people of Indragiri Hilir Regency Riau. Currently the state of Banjar Hulu is contaminated with modern culture and technology. Therefore, a deep review of Banjar Hulu is needed. As for the related issues related to the form of affix forming the nominal reduplication of Banjar Hulu. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain in detail about the form of affix forming of narial reduplication Banjar Hulu language. This research is manifold field research using descriptive method. Research data in the form of words spoken by informants, with data collection techniques simak libat cakap. Data validation is done by source triangulation with data analysis taking into account the form of origin and basic form. The result of this research is the finding of an affix of N-an morph which has alomorph pa-an, ba-an, ka-an, ta-an, sa-an, and sing-an.

Abstract

Indonesian learning outcomes in the material describing the place in accordance with the plan / picture in grade IV SDN 011 Pulau Kedundung, Kuantan Tengah District, Kuansing Regency, is still low, so the learning outcomes have not fulfilled the KKM set by the school, namely 70, Class Action Research is carried out to improve student learning skills by using group work method in odd semester 2016/2017 school year. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings through four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Student learning activity data is analyzed by determining the number and percentage of students involved at each meeting. The results showed that learning activities and student learning outcomes experienced improvement where in the initial data of the number of students who took the pre cycle post test (repeat test) as many as 28 people, it turned out that 13 people could be declared complete (46.4%) because the values ​​obtained were the same or exceed the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria) and the remaining approximately 13 people are declared as having not passed (53.6%). after the actions taken in the first cycle student learning outcomes have increased, it turns out that 18 people can be declared complete (64.3%) because the value obtained has the same or exceeded the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria) and the remaining about 10 people declared incomplete (35.7 %), and cycle II students turned out to be 25 people declared complete (89.3%) because the value obtained was the same or exceeded the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria) and the remaining only 3 people were declared incomplete (10.7%). From this data it can be concluded that the use of group work methods can improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian students.

Abstract

This study of “Morpheme Malay Riau Dialect Of Siak In The Village OfUnisow Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak, Riau Province”. The problem in this research is how the morphemes are bound, which are in malay Riau Province? This study iams to collect, analyze, deserige and concluede morpheme bound contained in the Malay Riau dialect of Siak in the Village Of Unison Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak Regency Of Riau Province. The main data souvees in dualitative research is the speech of informans who originated from the Malay Riau Dialect Of Siak In The Village Of Unision Subdististrict Sabak Auh Siak Regency Of Riau Province. The data obtained in this study is a morpheme gound to that contained in the utterance that is pronounced by the informant. The method that I use in the implementation of this research method descriptive. Data collection techniques this research uses observasion techniques, interviews, recordings, listen and record. From the results obtained it can be concluded that the morpheme malay Riau dialect of Siak in the village of unison Subdistrict Sabak Auh Siak regency of Riau Province consists of (1) Prefix (prefix), hit, search, split, divide, paint, crusty, hanging, gilard, forgetful, destroyer, for, will, (2) Infiks (insert), bars, cruising (3) suffixes (ending), love, reconcile, food, (4) confix (prefix and suffix), cleverness, planning, coming.

Abstract

Reading is an activity to understand reading material effectively. Reading became the biggest problem for students these days. This is due to a lack of reading motivation and a lack of awareness of reading needs. Students more often open handpone applications rather than books. Such conditions affect the learning of reading courses for students in the first level. To create a more enjoyable reading activity, it needs to be utilized and combined with the blanded learning by using edmodo group application. Edmodo group is a social media as a means of liaison between students, teachers, and parents. Edmodo is also used as a learning electronic e-learning platform. This research is formulated by how is the utilization of blanded learning edmodo group in reading activity? The purpose of this research is to know the utilization of edmodo group in reading. This research is a kind of qualitative research with descriptive method of data presentation. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire which analyzing simple description percentage. The results of this study are providing a fun learning method, making the relationship of lecturers with students to be closer, facilitate communication between lecturers and students, learning can be done anytime, as a suggestion to share knowledge and knowledge with new people, and as a media completion of exercises, and quiz.

Abstract

Research on the cohesion of poetical text in Tunjuk Ajar Melayu by Tenas Effendy which viewed from the aspect of language. The role of cohesion is necessary in a text to support the linkage between the stanza with the stanza and the array with the array in a poem. With the cohesion will make it easier to read understand the author's intent. Cohesion can also affect the level of appreciation and understanding of the reader or the listener. Therefore, this study aims to know the cohesion between the lines in one line and antarbait in the text of the teachings of the teachings of Tenas Effendy Malay. The theory used Tarigan (1993), Effendy (2013), Tarigan (2009) and other supporting theories. Writing research this is descriptive-analitik with qualitative descriptive method. The data of this research are sourced Tunjuk Ajar Melayu by Tenas Effendy in 2013. Based on the research findings, there are several cohesion tools used in the text of lecture of Tenas Effendy's Malay teaching, among others, pronouncement, substitution, conjunction and lexical cohesion. There are several ways of lexical used are repetition, synonym and antonym and so on.

Abstract

The author discussed the Indonesian language learning problem by incorporating the cooperative type jigsaw method in the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Beringin Jaya Elementary School using the jigsaw cooperative method. This research was conducted on the fifth-grade students of SDN 010 Beringin Jaya, with a total number of 20 students consisting of 12 female students and 8 male students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles starting from the end of March to May 2016. The results of the study showed that each cycle of teacher activity increased. It is seen that the teacher activity score in the first cycle got a score of 19 in the good category, and in the second cycle got a score of 23 categorized very well. Student activities from activities, in the first cycle, got a score of 20 categorized very well, and in the second cycle got a score of 22 very good categories. Additionally, the improvement of student learning outcomes was seen clearly, in the first cycle was 83.33%, while in the second cycle 91.66% of students completed. Thus, the use of the jigsaw cooperative method in Indonesian language learning can improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN 010 Beringin Jaya.
