Abstract

Thiss research implemented by 2 cycles and each cycle implemented in 4 times of the meeting included the last test in every time of the cycle. The data in this research taken for use with result study of test and observation. Each datum which collected in this research analyzed with descriptive analysis. The result of this research achieved after the implementation step of proximate things media during 2 cycles: a) the increasing result mathematics study. Thiss case can see from the increasing average score test and average score see 3 aspects of marking that is draft comprehension, reasoning, and communication achieved with completeness the resultant study in a classical. The first cycle obtained average score test students is 64,44. From 100, is the highest score with standard deviation in the amount of 11,819 and at the second cycle obtained average score 83,11 from 100, is the highest score with deviation standard 8,410. Completeness presentation the result at first cycle is 44,44%. That is 16 from 36 students otherwise complete their study, and the second cycle 100% is 36 from 36 students otherwise complete their study. b) In this research happen attitude change in students about mathematics become better each time during teaching and studying process. From result of this research, we are able to summed up that applied to proximate things media at mathematics learning, then the result of VII SMP PMDS Putra Palopo can rise.

Abstract

The study aimed at describing the level in thinking geometry according to Van Hiele theory based on geometry ability and gender differences. The subjects of the study were 4 people consisted of a male student with high geometry ability (LT), a female student with high geometry ability (PT), a male student with low geometry ability (LR), and a female student with low geometry ability (PR). The instrument of the study was the researcher herself as the main instrument assisted by test of geometry ability, test of Van Hiele, and guided interview which was valid and reliable. Data were collected by conducting test and test-based interview. The subject of the study grade VII students consisted of 4 people. The process of the study was conducted in several steps, namely (a) formulating the indicator of the level in thinking geometry according to Van Hiele theory based on the relevant theory and research, (b) formulating the supporting instrument (test of geometry ability, test of Van Hiele geometry, and guided interview) which was valid and reliable, (c) deciding the research subjects by providing test of geometry ability, (d) obtaining the data to reveal the level in thinking geometry of students on the characteristics of tetragon, (e) conducting time triangulation to obtain valid data, (f) conducting data analysis of the level in thinking geometry of students according to Van Hiele theory based on the geometry ability and gender differences, (g) conducting the discussion of the result of analysis, and (h) conducting conclusion drawing of the result of the study. The result of the study revealed that (1) the subject of LT was in level 2 of pre-ordering (unmaximized level 2), the subject had lack of understanding the correlation among planes in making the definition, (2) the subject of PT was in level 2 of pre-ordering (unmaximized level 2), the subject had lack of understanding the correlation among planes in making the definition, (3) the subject of LR was in level 1 of analysis, the subject could determine the characteristics of a plane; where as (4) the subject of PR was in level 1 of analysis, subject could determine the characteristics of a plane.

Abstract

This research is quantitative correlations designed ex-post facto. The population is all students of mathematics department from 2012/2013 until 2014/2015 IAIN Palopo totaling 291 people. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling with a sample of 73 students. The collection data using by documentation and test. The result showed that: (1). The overview of the literacy al - Quran is 53 students from 73 have a very high ability (72,5%). This means that the literacy Quran students in terms of known/recognize letters hijaiyah, able to read the Quran and write some verses in the Quran have been classified as very good. (2). The mathematical ability is 50 students from 73 have a very high ability (68,5%). Thin means that that the ability of students in terms of reasoning, inductive reasoning, comprehension, problem solving, connections, communication, analytical thinking and creative thinking as well as a very good analogy are included, and (3). The ability to read and write Quran student has a significant correlation with math skills. This is based on the results of hypothesis testing inferential analysis that showed a correlation coefficient r = 0608 and the coefficient of determination r2 = 0.3697 or 36.97%. Abstract

The study aims to analyze the descriprition of metacognitive awareness toward learning result of mathematics directly and indirectly through learning motivation of grade XI IPA student of public senior high school in Pareparecity. The study is an ex-post facto which casuality. The populations of the study were 520 grade XI IPA students of SMAN inParepare of academic years 2013/2014 with as many as 221 samples. Technique used in selecting the samples was proporsional random sampling. The instrument used for the study were (1) scale of metacognitive awareness, (2) scale of intrapersonal intelligence, (3) scale of learning motivation, (4) scale of attitude on mathematics and (5) test of mathematics learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis and SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) analysis. The results of the study indicate that (1) most of grade XI IPA students at SMAN in Parepare has metacognitive awareness with high category, learning motivation is in extremely high category, the learning result is in low category, (2) metacognitive awarenees directly give positif influence toward learning result of Mathematics and indirectly gives negative influence toward cognitive learning result of Mathematics through motivation learning.

Abstract

Fractal geometry is a structure that is constructed of an element geometry (points, lines, areas, and space) and these elements are experiencing faults equation is not continuous, monotonous go up or down the course, the graph circular, blending and converging to the center, and size scale in each substructure same. This is similar to the principle of cell division, mitosis is the process of cell division that splits into two cells, and each cell has the same chromosomes as their parent. Mitosis is usually followed by cytokinesis, the division of the cytoplasm to two identical daughter cells. The stages of mitotic division consists of prophase, metafese, anaphase, telophase and interphase. Of the five stages only obtained three stages which can be searched equation through the Julia set algorithm, namely prophase, telophase, and interphase. The mathematical equation for prophase and interphase are the same, namely , the difference is the position x. At prophase position x is -0,9 ? x ? 0,1 while at the interphase stage position x is -0,9 ? x ? 0,9. The mathematical equation for telophase stage is .

Abstract

Several factors that influence students ability to solve mathematics problem are metacognition, learning motivation, and learning creativity on mathematics. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the influence level of metacognition and learning motivation toward mathematics problem solving ability through learning creativity of students. The population was students at grade VIII of public junior high school in Kindang sub district of Bulukumba. Technique of sampling was by equal size random sampling. The data were collected through questionnaire and test, and then analyzed by using descriptive statistics and SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis. The result revealed that (1) there is a positive significant influence of metacognition toward learning creativity; (2) there is also a positive significant influence of learning motivation toward learning creativity; (3) the direct influence of metacognition toward mathematics problem solving ability is positive and significant; (4) the direct influence of learning motivation toward mathematics problem solving ability is positive significant; (5) there is a positive significant influence of learning creativity toward mathematics problem solving ability; (6) the indirect influence of metacognition toward mathematics problem solving ability through learning creativity is positive significant; and (7) the indirect influence of learning motivation toward mathematics problem solving ability through learning creativity is positive and significant.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1) to investigate the effectiveness of cooperative teaching practice using STAD type in the topic of comparison; 2). investigate whether the learning outcome of the students who were involved in cooperative learning process is better than those who were involved in conventional learning process in the topic of comparison. This research was quasi experimental research. The samples of this research were the students of VIIA as the experimental classroom and the students of VIIB as the control classroom. Based on the descriptive analysis, it was concluded that the use of cooperative learning using STAD type in the topic of comparison in SMPN II Megaluh was proven effective with criteria 1) students mastery reach 87.09%, 2) the students active participation is effective, 3) the teachers capability in managing classroom is effective, 4) the students response of the teaching and learning practice are positive. Based on the analysis by using inferential t-test, it was gained ttest= 2.197 and ttest > ttable,. It means the students learning outcome using cooperative teaching and learning process was better than those using conventional teaching and learning process in SMPN II Megaluh Jombang, academic year 2013/2014.
