Abstract

This study was conducted to figure out the influence of Resource-based Learning (RBL) learning method using internet toward learning achievement in Biology subject. This study employed Post-test only Control Group Design. The population was the first semester of the tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Padang in 2008/2009 academic year. They were distributed into 8 parallel classes. The sample was taken by employing purposive sampling technique. After deciding two classes to become the sample by using coin flipping technique, class X.6 and X.5 were chosen as the experimental and control groups respectively. Data were analyzed by using t-test. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the value of t-calculated was 3.87 under the degree of freedom 95% (α=0.05) and the value of t-table was 2.00 under the degree of freedom of 69. Therefore, t-calculated was higher that t-table. This means that the alternate hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that Resource-based Learning (RBL) learning method using internet gives significant influence toward learning achievement in Biology subject of the tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Padang in 2008/2009 academic year.Kata kunci: metode pembelajaran, resource based learning, internet, hasil belajar, biologi

Abstract

Teaching speaking to students at any level seems to be a big problem to English teachers. As a result, this skill seems to be ignored. Though, some of the teachers have tried hard to teach this skill, the result does not reflect the competency that the students are supposed to master. This is due to the inappropriate techniques and classroom procedures applied in the classroom. Consequently, the learning processes tend to be boring. Abstract

Outbound Science provides active and enjoyable learning atmosphere that guarantees students not easily to get fed up and tired during the learning process. Such supporting atmosphere facilitates the students’ comprehension on the concept of science. Outbound science learning is carried out in order that the students can experience directly the concept they are learning about, develop their logical reasoning and teach them to acquire spiritual, emotional and intellectual optimally. After all, innovative learning is intended to activate students in order to improve educational quality by promoting student-centered learning in which instructional materials are made to be related to students’ daily life experience and meaningful as well.Kata kunci: outbound sains, meaningful learning (pembelajaran bermakna), inovatif.

Abstract

Suffering from lacks of supporting instructional materials and teaching methodology are suspected to be the sources of students’ low ability in listening. Other source that influences the students’ insufficiency is lack of learning strategy. In line with the awareness of learning strategy in listening, such concept is believed to contribute promising solution for two main reasons: clear theoretical framework and empirical experiences taking place around the world. Consequently, it is considerably important to teach listening by applying the concept of learning strategy within classroom learning process and outside as well.Key words:   learning strategy, listening, listening strategies, strategy-based instruction

Abstract

This article aims at analyzing spiritual intelligence based education since the basically, the goal of education is to build perfect human (insan kamil). Such goal can be realized as long as the pupils are able to integrate all of their potential intelligences. Those potentials are physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual intelligences. The integration of those intelligences is called spiritual intelligence. Abstract

This study was aimed at producing valid e-learning based instructional materials. A Research and Development designed was used. There were two phase were employed; front-back analysis and prototype. The result of front-back analysis showed that the students needed instructional materials to help them imagine surface form. Consequently, instructional materials were designed on the basis of e-learning. Then, validation was conducted by consulting three validators. The result of validation by relevant experts showed that the e-learning based instructional materials were valid both in terms of construct and content.Kata kunci: pengembangan, bahan ajar, e-learning, KPB 1.

Abstract

Biology, as one field of science, provides various learning experience to understand the concept and the process of science. Biology subject aims at promoting positive attitudes toward Biology by realizing the orderliness and the beauty of the universe and praising the Almighty of God. It is also responsible for establishing Islamic values through instructional materials being taught and consequently the instructional goals can be attained. To arrive at such goals, particular learning approach, strategy, and even method which integrate Islamic values into instructional materials are really needed. This, in turn, will make learning meaningful to students and promote better learning output. Abstract

This study was aimed at evaluating the CIPP model toward MGMP Chemistry teachers programs in Padang in 2008/2009 academic year. The study showed that Context and Input components were in good category. Process component referring to the actualization of programs which were relevant to the participants’ needs was well and fluently managed and in lack of obstacle category. Product component of the MGMP activities were suitable with the need and improved the participants’ professionalism was in good category. The result of the activities was successfully applied in schools. To conclude, the evaluation pointed out that the activities were in good category.Kata kunci: CIPP, context, input, process, product, MGMP.

Abstract

Rapid developments in information technology and communication today is based on the development of mathematics in the field of number theory, algebra, analysis, theory of chances and discrete mathematics. To master the technology and creating future required a strong mastery of mathematics from an early age. Standard mathematical competence and basic competence in elementary school (SD), Junior Secondary School (SMP) and High School (SMA) have been prepared with the intention to develop the ability to use mathematics in solving problems and communicating the idea or the idea of using symbols, tables, diagrams , and other media. At the elementary school where children are in the concrete operational stage and how to effectively communicate the idea of mathematical ideas is to use instructional media. This paper will try to review the instructional media as one means of communication of mathematics learning in elementary school (SD).Kata kunci: komunikasi, media pembelajaran
