Abstract

The article discusses about the life and development of puppet show from time to time since 1920s until 1990s. Puppet  show, nowdays, has become more sophisticated and professional and it can become a guarantee that puppet show will continuously develop and will be able to compete with over popular art shows. Besides, the dalang with their developing creativities are able to work on tke pakeliran elements which can touch the aesthetic feeling and the audience interest. For the reason, the function of puppet  show as a guadiance as well as entertaining can be obtained. Key words: puppet show, lif and development, historical.

Abstract

Banjaran Sengkuni is a play that tells about the life journey of a character named Sengkuni. Through the play the puppeteer believes that the character’s character is formed not only from birth, but also from the process of the fetus through sexual intercourse by both parents. Unless formed since in the womb, it will also be formed by the environment that surrounds it. What is meant by the environment includes the family environment, the surrounding community, and the universe. The character of Sengkuni in Banjaran Sengkuni is very determined by the process of the occurrence of a baby or fetus in the womb, which is through the process of adultery that is culturally considered negative even sin. He inherited his father’s character, namely a gandarwa named Setibar. The thing that signifies the character that can be observed is that Sengkuni’s baby despite being born in a handsome face but he fuses like a fangled father. In the tradition of canine puppet reflects a negative value.Keywords: character, fetus, environment, universe

Abstract

A valuable literary work will get continually perception from its surrounding society. Problem of thisresearch is how the perception of society towards the death of Dursasana is. The study aims todescribe the various perceptions towards Dursasana’s death. Based on the perception approach,finding of this research shows that the death of Dursasana gets perception on five thingsincluding the name of Dursasana, his reason to join in the war, the place of his death, the way heis killed, and the finding of the legend village around Kroya, Cilacap.Keywords: literature, perception, the death, Dursasana.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the relationship between tradition and contemporary conditions,especially with the implementation of the AEC (Asean Economic Community). The problems ishow-cultural trendconducted by the local communities related to the interaction with the globalculture in the context of art.Usingcultural adaptation concept on the ecological anthropologyperspective. This approach is theorized that the process of adaptation is an active humansaction by using the power of reason while physically works in order to take advantage of thenatural resources. From visual observation of the socio-cultural phenomenonand a review ofseveral books, the research result at least there are some propensity adaptations made bytraditional artists, artistic innovation, cultural appropriation, and cultural delocalization.Keywords: Artistic inovation, cultural-appropriation, delocalization.

Abstract

Planning of wayang boneka for children is supposed to be used as a developing media for behavior and basic ability shaping for play group children. This puppet can be extended personally as a game and in a group as a performance. It is defferent from other puppet performance. In wayang boneka performance, children act as the puppet, the dubber even the musician. The performance form can make them work cooperatively, self confidence, disciplined, responsible, and appraise each other.Keyword : wayang boneka, game, performance,play group children

Abstract

The article entitled pakeliran observation on lakon Kalendu presented by Manteb Sedharsono on 25 March in Taman Budaya Surakarta, studies about problems in relation to garap elements in lakon Kalendu. Problem which is found is how the presented lakon elements are. This study aims to describe garap lakon, catur, sabet, and iringan presented by Manteb Soedharsono in lakon Kalendu. The result shows that presented garap lakon is suitable for the present day. The presented garap catur is, sometimes, brought up exactly and densely, but it can gove an interesting performance. Garap sabet shows that wayang movements in certain condition, event without previous dialogues. Garap iringan is also presented in unity with other elements.Key words: Kalendu, Mantep Soedharsono, shadow play

Abstract

lndonesian political reform, which began in 1998, directly influenced the ethnic identity of the chinese community in Semarang. The Liong dance, as a chinese art form, began to be performed once again in the streets of Semarang’s China town, as part of parade to celebrate the anniversary of Hok Tek Tjing sien.The Liong dance means to give tangibility, to become an icon and metaphor, and to actualize various myths, beliefs, imagination, and world-views, which in reality are means of self-definition for a group or individual. A parade of a Liong dance, with its various symbols and attributes, with many Chinese people gathered together in one place, strengthens their social ties through symbols of their cultural system. This event is also a form communication, to show their identity, both as individuals and as a group, to the rest of the community and to those in power.Keywords: etnik, Tionghoa, pertunjukan, Liong, naga, Cina, identitas.

Abstract

The community of wayang (puppet) lovers often idolizes the characters of Mahabharata andRamayana stories. One of the idolized characters is Karna. The idolizing of Karna focuses on hiscourage in defending Korawa in the War of Bharatayuda. In Indonesia, wayang grows in severalareas with their own characteristics that create their own tradition or version of wayang. Abstract

Sex (intercourse) represents  a relation of two personalities that is between a husband and a wife involving  physic, feeling, emotion, and the soul based on love and mutual respect.  Sex that is executed by unmarried couple is supposed to be  adultery sin and immoral in some  religions as well as cultures. Each culture against the adultery so that people who does the adultery will  get a heavy moral sanction.
