Abstract

Personal hygiene behavior is one effort to prevent the occurrence of various diseases due to microorganism from the waste. Children aged 6 - 11 years are still vulnerable awareness about personal hygiene. Factors of knowledge, environment, and family support become the determinants of personal hygiene practices by children. Children living in landfill have a greater risk of health disruption due to an environment that does not support personal hygiene. The purpose of this study was to look at the pattern of personal hygiene of primary school age children living in the TPA Ngronggo, Salatiga. This research is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data by interviewing respondents aged 6 - 11 years and living in landfill. The results obtained, most children do not fully understand and practice personal hygiene in their daily lives. Concluded if the children living in the landfill do not have the knowledge and practice of personal hygiene is good.

Abstract

This article abstracted from dissertation entitled “State and Society’s Relation in Rote”. This article discusses the relation between the state and society in Rote Island. Rote Island (Rote Ndao District) consisted of 19 Kingdom (Nusak) with different culture, language, and customs on each Nusak. Nusak divides the government structure into 3 (three) functions: First is the executive institution body which run custom law, second is the legislative body which make custom law, and third is the judicative body which monitoring custom law. By this condition, Nusak is considered as Ethnic State. From this explanation, Indonesia should be seen as nations state, not as a nation state.

Abstract

Idamdehe is a village in the province of North Maluku with the potential of geothermal energy to be used for electric power. The central (government) and local government plan to develop the geothermal energy. The preparation was conducted between 2009-2012. This study aimed to describe and analyze the perceptions and attitudes of rural community in Idamdehe to geothermal energy development plan. The method used is qualitative, using data collection techniques like interviews, observation and document study. This research shows that a number of community members agreed to this plan for some reason. Those are poverty, human factors and socio-cultural factors. At the beginning the majority of people agree on the implementation of geothermal energy development plan. However, a small group in the community did not agree while others didn’t have any opinion. After the community receive balanced information from this development, their perception are changed among the rural communities of Idamdehe. Those who first agree with the plan, became hesitant and refused the development of geothermal energy.

Abstract

Proliferation of villages in Papua is a strategy of village leaders and the community in order to access development. This paper is intended to describe the dynamics of proliferation of the villages in Papua and its impacts. One aspects highlighted in this paper is the fact that due to the proliferation of villages, the community in Papua gains more access to globalisation. Consequently, their interaction to the global world stimulates ideas and dreams for social transformation.

Abstract

This article aims to describe impact of fiscal transfer such as village funds allocation towards regional inequality in East Sumba. This article use data such as gross regional domestic product at 2000 constant prices and realization of village funds allocation from 2008 to 2010. The result shows  that village funds allocation has a positive and significant impact to regional inequality. Therefore, it’s necessary to create a generative relationship among developed region with the area behind it to remove regional inequality.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the regional inflation volatility in Indonesia for the period of 1999-2009 from both monetary and fiscal sides. The data employed in this study are regional panel data consisting of 275 observations picked from several publications. The method of analysis used in this study is Fixed Effect Model. The proxy of monetary side is outstanding of loans in Rupiah and Foreign Currency of commercial and rural banks by project location of Provinces, and fiscal side is local government debt. This research finds both monetary and fiscal sides have positive relationship with the inflation volatility in Indonesia. However, only monetary side which has significant impact, but fiscal side does not. This finding further shows that the regional inflation in Indonesia is still a monetary phenomenon. Therefore, the solution to controll regional inflation in Indonesia is to manage credit rationing conducting by commercial and rural banks for every province.

Abstract

This article aims to describe some efforts of every country  worldwide to promote welfare of the society like economic, social, environment aspects without harming the environment or social life. There is an effort to support development thought some great event such as the UN conference on sustainable development (Rio+20). This effort creates millennium development goals and sustainable development goals. Abstract

This paper describes a research finding on the dynamics of water management in decentralization era using a case study in Tajuk Village, Semarang Regency. The case study shows the change of water management system in the village. Water-based conflict was often happened due to inequity of water distribution to the community. Water management changes when Pamsimas (Program Penyediaan Air Minum dan Sanitasi Berbasis Masyarakat) program enters the village, a program established by central government in cooperation with local government as an implementation of decentralization. In the beginning, the program invites pro and con among villagers. The pro side argues that the program can solve community’s problem on the inequity of water distribution, while the conside argues that the public should not pay to water which is their own asset. Finally, the program was implemented when all community members were convinced that they themselves who will manage and decide the price of water in the village.Kata kunci: pengelolaan sumber daya air, konflik, desentralisasi,  Pamsimas

Abstract

Indonesian Otonomi Daerah or Desentralization policy had been dilemmatic and problematic when social control of society and supra-structure of the local government (supra-district) are weak and not effective. Beside exploitative and corruptive, that policy tend to stimulated sectoral egoism and regional (district) egoism. Abstract

The dynamics of plantation farming occure in some regions has been widely discussed. One  example  is the plantation farming at North Moriwali (Indonesian: Morowali Utara). There are two groups of farmers living in North Morowali territory, particularly in the Sub-District of North Mori. The first group chooses to make a living by cultivating cocoa, for the following reasons: 1) avoiding the risk of being lost, 2) Easy access to market, 3) Business capital, and 4) Cocoa is a sustainable plant. The second group is farmers who decide to make replacement on their cocoa plantation to other commodities (commodity change). This article will discuss factors influencing these farmers in making the replacement.Kata Kunci: dinamika perkebunan, perkebunan, petani, kakao, perubahan komoditas.
