Abstract

The use of underground cables in transmission lines and the distribution of today is increasing rapidly, especially in urban and industrial areas. Electrical power supply between 150 kV substation using a cable. When cables pass through unfavorable as paved areas and bridges, then decrease the heat transfer from the cable to the environment. The heat will accumulate resulting in temperature rise, so capability of ground wire current-carrying wires must be lowered so that the ground is not damaged due to limited working temperature insulating materials. This research will discuss the current-carrying strength analysis of 150 kV land cables that cross the bridge.

Abstract

The development of the electricity system can not be separated from the development of the distribution system and in the development of the electric power distribution system there are some things that needs to be considered, one of which is characteristic of the load on the power distribution network. Because of the nature / characteristics of the electrical load can cause interference in the distribution system. Disorders that arise as a result of the load, these include the emergence of harmonic waves on power distribution systems.From the results of measurements that have been done on the electrical power circuit breaker (MCCB) of the fifth house obtained measured total harmonic current distortion ranged 5.8% ≤ ITHD ≤ 51%, while the calculation results ranged from 7.54% ≤ ITHD ≤ 66.1%. This data shows the fundamental current waveform distortion that exceeds the standard IEEE and IEC is 15%. The presence of current distortion harmonic waves that exceed the allowable limits on electric power distribution system will cause a disruption in the power distribution system, one of which is at the breaker electrical power trip (OFF), because of the resonance frequency caused by distortion of the current wave fundamental. Besides being able to interference with the performance of electrical power breaker, the wave harmonic distortion can cause a rise in the current and voltage on the neutral wire.

Abstract

Power quality problems are increasing and becoming a concern because of the use of power semiconductors in the industry and the loads that are used are very sensitive to variations. Non-linear loads in a three-phase four-wire system, three-wire systems has generally a large capacity such as for variable speed drive control in a elevator. Generally the use of variable speed drives on a elevator cause harmonic currents dominated by the fifth and seventh order harmonics currents. In this thesis, the measurement of harmonics due to variable speed drives on an elevator and will be concluded by extrapolation.

Abstract

Saving electricity is a theme, which draws full attention throughout the general population, but it is rarely considered in relation to the lighting problem. It appeared in Germany, 10% of all the energy needs of 480,000 GWH used illumination purposes, which is subdivided into 20% for private homes (private house hold) and 80% for industry, trade, public lighting and etc.Based on the results of testing in the field of electricity that has been done, proven Power Saving Lamps (PSL) the original but can produce light five times brighter than incandescent lamps with the same wattage, is also able to save electricity to above 70 percent.When calculated level of efficiency, LHL is more efficient than incandescent bulbs. For example, the power light (bright light) LHL by 14 watt comparable to 75 watt incandescent bulb. Likewise lamp life, for LHL can reach 8,000 hours, whereas incandescent lamps only 1,000 hours.

Abstract

Inadequacy of a Solar Power Plant (SPP) due to inaccuracy analysis of feseability studies conducted, based on the results of the wisnuresearch (2012) that SSP Nusa Penida are still major obstacles in technical problems and maintenance.This research aims to devise a benchmark for risk management guidelines, especially solar power plants in Nusa Penida. Djohandiputro (2004) argues that there are five cycles of risk management, ie risk identification, risk measurement, risk mapping, models of management, supervision and risk control.To design a risk management assessment guidelines, research was conducted using qualitative research methodology by using a variant of case study research. Data was collected through secondary data from studies and research reports (Wisnu, 2012) then the primary data in the form of interviews, followed by a risk assessment, risk management PLN working papers, as well as data analysis techniques.In risk management, PT PLN (Persero) published a technical manual preparation of risk assessments, is the same as it has been argued by Djohandiputro (2004) by the published memos no: 00024/030 / KDIVMRO / 2014 concerning the technical manual and paper work risk assessment dated June 16th, 2014 and regulations of the Board of Directors PLN no: 03355.K / DIR / 2014 on Risk Management in the Environment PLN dated July 22nd 2014 as the reference for researchers to make a reference to the risk management guidelines for PLTS Nusa Penida.

Abstract

Electric power systems continue to evolve as the needs of the community will also continue to increase electric power. Electrification ratio in Indonesia reached about 60%, so it still requires the development of electric power system large enough to achieve 100% electrification ratio. To control the large electric power systems as well as Java-Bali system connections necessary telecommunications facilities that are reliable and adequate for data and information needed to make operating decisions can be obtained quickly. Telecommunications facilities powerline carrier and fiber optic are the only practical means of telecommunication which is owned by PLN, particularly for optical fiber means mounted in lightning wire high voltage lines.

Abstract

Advanced in the field of fracture mechanics have helped to offset some of the potential dangers posed by increase technologycomplexity. Our understanding of how materials fail and our ability to prevent such failures has increased considerably since World War II. Much remains to be learned, however, and existting knowledge of fracture mechanics is not always applied when appropriate. In the first instance, existing procedures are sufficient to avoid failure, but are not followed by one ore more of the parties involved, due to human error, ignorance, or willfull misconduct. Poor workmanship, inappropriate, or substandard materials, error in stress analysis, and operator error are examples of where the appropriate technology and experience are available, but not applied.

Abstract

Batteries are indispensable as the driving force or as a supply of energy on the use of electronic equipment. In certain circumstances the charging of the grid is a difficult, so we need a charger that can be taken anywhere (portable) without need of electricity grid, and therefore solar or solar power is used for this reason. The main components of this device is a solar cell (as an input to convert solar energy into electrical energy), battery charger circuit (as a controller), the LED indicator (as an indicator of charging battery), and battery (voltage 12 V). This tool is used when there is supply of energy from sunlight is converted into electrical energy through solar cells.

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network is a combination between SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System) system with ad hoc wireless network. This wireless sensor network has already developed very fastly few years lately, because application of wireless sensor network are used in many field. It is necessary to plan for building wireless sensor network precisely so that using energy is not wasted. In this tesis a writer has already survey some aspect on wireless sensor network so that the goal for efficiency energy can be achieved like localization node, time synchronization, modulation, transmit power, size of packet, access medium techniques, network topology and so on. The combination of all the above techniques to plan wireless sensor network that work using a battery give result a wireless sensor network with each node has a capability long life till some years without having replacement for the battery
