Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed at describing the students’ metacognitive awareness in Chemistry learning, at finding out the correlation of metacognitive awareness and learning outcomes, and at finding out the correlation of indicators of metacognitive awareness and learning outcomes in Chemistry subject of grade XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ketapang. The subjects of this study were 32 science class students. The methodwas descriptive correlational method. The instrument was a metacognitions questionnaire (MCQ) developed by Schraw and Dennison (1994), and modified by the writer. The results showed that the students metacognitive awareness in Chemistry was bigger than other category (43,75%). There was a positive correlation of students’ metacognitive awareness and learning outcomes by 0.933 coefficient value. The result of correlation of indicators of metacognitive awareness and students learning outcomes indicated that the monitoring comprehension indicators contributed major influence to students’ learning outcomes by 0.894 coefficient of determination value. In conclusion, there’s significant correlation of students’ metacognitive awareness and learning outcomes by 0.933 ofcorrelation coefficient value. In addition, the dominance of students’ metacognitive awareness isat a developing stage(62,5%), and the most influential indicator is monitoring comprehension indicator (0,894).Keywords : metacognitive awareness, learning outcomes

Abstract

ABSTRACT In general, the used evaluation form to measure the students’ abilities is evaluation form in multiple choice and essay, but this evaluation still has weaknesses which are there are possibilities that the students do not know the correct answer and it has low realibility. From the weaknesses, the researcher wanted to produce two levels multiple choice diagnostic test assessment instrument in order to find outthe passing of the students’ outcomes with 21 students for the first trial and 118 students for the main trial. This research consisted of 7 steps which were (1) Research and the collection of information, (2) Planning, (3) The development of introductory product, (4) Preliminary trial, (5) The revision on main product, (6) Field trial, and (7) The revision of product. The research result showed that the two levels multiple choice diagnostic test was feasible to be used. The test result from 118 students using the two levels multiple choice diagnostic test showed the validity value of Vainstrument was 3.97, the effectiveness value was 85.57 %, and the practical value was 78.80%. The obtained test result, before and after using the two levels multiple choice diagnostic test showed that there was improvement on students’ learning outcomes which was 59.3 %. Abstract

ABSTRACT Chemistry is a part of Natural Sciences, which include understanding the concept and chemical calculation. Two concepts that should be owned by the students in understanding the chemistry to make students easy to master chemistryThe purpose of this study was to determine the student’s mathematic skills of students MIPA 11 grade MAN 1 Pontianak and to determine student’s learning outcomes in terms of mathematic skills in thermochemistry subject. The research method was descriptive. Data were collected using interview techniques and measuring. The analysis showed that average student’s mathematic skill was 82.86 whitch measured at 9 mathematical skills indicators contained in thermochemistry subject. Average student’s learning outcomes in thermochemistry subject was 44.08. Analysis of student’s answer sheets showed that students already had excellent mathematical skills was 71.43%. The data showed that the student who had difficulties in learning thermochemistry, students had lowunderstanding on chemistry concepts. Abstract

The background of this research is lack of student’s learning to the tenth grade students of SMA Adisucipto Sungai Raya, due to the less of student’s comprehension especially about concept of compound hydrocarbon system. Therefore, it was needed the method of learning to increase the student’s comprehension about appropriate concept with characteristic both of the subject and student. The aim of this research was to know the differences of student’s learning and the increasement of student’s learning by using cooperative learning method type RTE in chapter of compound hydrocarbon system with couple card. The kind of this research was Pre-Experimental one group pre-test and post-test design research with subjects of this research were thirteen students from grade XI IPA of SMA Adisucipto Sungai Raya. The technique and the instrument to collect the data was using student’s learning test, observation, and interview. The result of data analysis showed the mean score of pre-test was 27,21 and the mean score of post-test was 75,86. The statistic result of Wilcoxon showed that the score was 0,01 less than α (0,01 < 0,05) that mean there were the differences of student’s learning and the influence of student’s learning by using cooperative learning method type RTE with couple card. The increasement of student’s learning was known by counting the gain score of 0,66 in medium score categorize. In this case, the cooperative learning method type RTE with couple card can be used in chapter of compound hydrocarbon system to increase the student’s learning.Keywords: Couple Card, Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE), Compound Hydrocarbon System

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe students practicial work in Madrasah Aliyah Al Jihad does not have laboratories facilities and infrastructures still minimal. It be over come by using simple tools and simple materials within students evironment and ussually encontered in everyday. In this research the result of the study before and after implementation practicial work based learning will be analyzing. This reasearch was conducted on to students by using pre- experimental research and one group pretest-posttest design. The subject in this research were students of class X Madrasah Aliyah Al Jihad. This research was condacted three phases: Preparation imlementation and data analysis, the data were collected by using the test (Pretest and Posttest) observation, and interviews. The everage value pretest is 38.00 and 74,00 for posttest. The data pretest and postest were analyzed by using T test which assuming variance test was not homogeneous. T test result by using pretest and posttest is different in significant. The imlpementation method lab-based enveronment can be improve  student`s learning outcome. Abstract

Evaluation tools used in schools were still classified as conventional so that they had weaknesses, including the old assessment process and during the evaluation activities were less effective. Therefore, it needed an interactive evaluation tool and habituation for students in Computer-Based National Exam. The purpose of this research was to produce evaluation tool based on wondershare quiz creator for class XI on material about colloid in SMA Koperasi Pontianak. This development research used the Borg & Gall model. The research instruments used were validation sheet, response questionnaire, and test of learning result. The results of the validity of the material and media experts showed the percentage of each valuation of 83.98% and 90.69%. Practical results in initial and main field trials showed the percentage of each valuation of 79.07% and 86.24%. Results of effectiveness in initial and main field trials showed the percentage of each valuation of 83.3% and 85%. Item discrimination power of the initial and main field tests was not found to be a negative category, so no items were discarded, while for the difficulty level of the items on the initial and main field trials was only easy and medium category. Thus evaluation tool based on developed wondershare quiz creator can be declared eligible for using and has a variation of discrimination test items and level of difficulty of test items in the evaluation.Keywords: Evaluation Tool, Colloid Material, Wondershare Quiz Creator

Abstract

BSTRACTThis research had the purpose to find out the differences and influences between the students’ learning outcomes which were taught by using props 3-dimensional atomic model-based learning Think Pair Share (TPS) to the learning outcomes of students in the structure of atoms lecture in class X MAN 2 Filial Pontianak. The sampling technique using sampling saturated with class X IIS as experimental class and class X MIA as the control class. Data collecting techniques using measurement techniques, observation and interviews, data collecting tools are achievement test, and observation sheet. The result showed that the average value posttest experimental class (73.33) was higher than the average value posttest control group (44.22). Statistical analysis Mann Whitney U-test (α = 0.05) p value obtained is 0.00 means that there are significant differences in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Calculations using the effect size indicates the value of ES = 1.47 means the use of props threedimensional atomic model-based learning Think Pair Share (TPS) had much effect on student learning outcomes in the amount of 42.92%.Keywords: Props, Learning Outcomes, Atomic Structure, Think Pair Share

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed by the students’ low learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak on chemistry subject, especially in the matter of redox reactions. The aim of this study was to determine differences in learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak in the matter redox reactions being taught by cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media with the lecture method by flash media and to determine the influence of cooperative learning model snowball throwing using flash media on learning outcomes class at the elemerith grade X of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak academic year 2014/2015. This research was Quasi Experimental Research Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling system was simple random sampling technique. This study employed the students of grade X TITL as the samples of experiment group, and the students of grade X TSM as the samples of control group. The techniques of data collections used measurement and observation. Meanwhile the instruments employed that is the achievement test in the form of essay. The calculation results of the post test effect size of 0.83, which meant cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media influence which was 29.67 % and considered high which indicated the positive effect. The results showed differences between the learning outcomes which were taught by using cooperative learning model snowball throwing type by flash media with the lecture method by flash media.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Snowball Throwing, Redox Reactions, Flash Media

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe learning process centered on teachers thus leading students cannot think by themselves and build own knowledge so that students easily forget any lesson taught that resulted in poor study results. The learning process and environment which involves students participate actively is required. Therefore, this study examined the differences in the results of learning and memory of students taught with and without media concept maps in cooperative learning model NHT on the material salt hydrolysis. This study included a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in the study were all students of Mathematics XI consist of four classes with the number of students to 160 people. Samples were taken using purposive sampling with class XI MIPA1 as an experimental class and class XI MIPA2 as controls. Collecting data using measurement techniques, direct observation, and direct communication, while the data collection tool is a test description, the observation sheet and interview guidelines. Based on test data analysis using non-parametric Mann-Whitney U showed there were differences in the results of student learning and memory. Effect size obtained for the results of student learning and memory was 0.44 and 0.85 including in the criteria for medium and high, which affact to 17.00% towards learning outcomes of students and 30.23% of the students memory.Keywords: memory, learning outcomes, salt hydrolysis, media concept maps, cooperative learning model NHT

Abstract

The Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM) of eleventh grade students of  SMA Negeri 1 Pemangkat on chemistry subject was still under 75, especially on the material about  hydrocarbon  compounds  and  petroleum  with  a  percentage  of  70.53.  Thus,  by using  an  appropriate  learning  models  could  improve  students’  achievement.  The purpose of this research was to know whether there was a difference and the influence of the  PBL learning model against student  learning  outcomes.  This  was  a  Quasi Experimental  Research  with  Non-equivalent  Control  Group  Design.  Sample  selected by using purposive sampling, they were XI MIA-3 students as the class experiment and XI  MIA-2  as  class  control.  The  techniques  of  data  collection  were  measurement, observation, and direct communication technique. The tools of data collection were test results learning, observation sheets, and interview guidelines. Based on data analysis using  non-parametric  test  of  U-Mann  Whitney  showed  that  there  was  differences  of learning  result,  that  was  0,000  <0,05.  This  showed  that  students  learning  outcomes was  different  between  different  experimental  class  with  control  class.  The  effect  size obtained by the student learning result was 1.19 which is included in the high criterion. Keywords:  Learning  outcomes, Problem  Based  Learning (PBL),  hydrocarbon compounds
